Really friendly, helpful, and never intrusive. Breakfast was great for me, I could get into the habit of Llaeth y Llan every morning.

Right next to the main road so all you heard in the morning was wet cars :)

All went well. Great location, comfortable room, great breakfast, friendly and competent staff.

Our room was on the ground floor which was ideal as we live in à bungalow and are not used to stairs. There were stairs down to the breakfast room. The room was comfortable and we had 2 easy chairs to use when watching tv. The breakfast was exceptional. My request for gluten free cereals and bread and soya milk were all met. There were cereals, all sorts of fresh and dried fruit, seeds and nuts and fruit juices. There were cheeses and meat with various crackers. The selection of cooked dishes was equally as good. I chose to stay here because of its position just off the town centre. We were booked onto the steam train for a trip on the Welsh highland railway and it was a five minute walk from Tudor Lodge. I had also booked an evening meal at Y Sgwar in Tremadog as we were celebrating our golden wedding anniversary. The meal was one of the best we have had. Nomi Indian restaurant in Porthmadog was also worth visiting.

All went well. We arrived early but were greeted happily & invited in. Land lady went above & beyond due to husbands limited stair ability. Room was comfortable, clean & had all necessary equipment needed, tea & coffee, milk in the fridge, comfortable bed & outside seating area. Would thoroughly recommend Tudor Lodge, the town is nothing special but does have some nice shops.

A Brilliant Place to Stay! We had a fantastic stay at Tudor Lodge. Clare and Steve are wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was superb and delicious, with a fantastic variety of food, including cheese and meat. You could even smell the freshly cooked breakfast in the morning from your room — absolutely wonderful! Our bedroom and bathroom were very clean, and the bed was comfortable. It was also great to have tea and coffee available in the room. The location is beautiful and very convenient, with easy access to everything you might want to visit. We also highly recommend the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways. It was absolutely fantastic and definitely worth experiencing! We will definitely be coming back to Tudor Lodge. Thank you, Clare and Steve, for making our stay so enjoyable. We highly recommend Tudor Lodge to anyone looking for a lovely place to stay.

I travel a lot for work, both to this area and others, and I have to say the breakfast was one of, if not the best breakfast I have had! The selection of items available on the continental breakfast was vast and the cooked breakfast was presented and cooked perfectly. I will definitely return in the future!

Superb location in the centre of Porthmadog just off the High Street with easy access to public transport, train station less than 10mins walk from property. Portmeirion is a 7min bus ride, Plas Brondanw the same . Ffestiniog railway station in the High St with various routes to suit individuals. Also, plenty of restaurants, cafes and take-aways nearby. Clair and Steve are the perfect hosts, accommodating relaxed and friendly. The breakfast is fabulous with a large and varied choice of food on offer including cooked.

We thought all the staff were friendly. Property was clean and can’t fault the cleanliness of the room and bathroom. Car park was generous. Breakfast was a good variety of choice from traditional cooked to continental. Location was correct and within walking distance to all the local amenities. Refrigerator in room was helpful and the fresh milk for tea was a welcome touch.

Room 5 was not what we expected disappointingly small and dark. Duvet cover was a polyester blend making a warm room already difficult to sleep. Pillows were flat and uncomfortable and a polyester mix. Our room was situated on the ground floor at the back, we could hear the guests upstairs, using the toilet, coughing, snoring and every time they moved the ceiling creaked and rattled making sleep quite unbearable. Although I booked through booking.com I believe the fee we paid for two nights was overpriced.

Breakfast was lovely. You had a varied choice and could pick from a menu. Location was good we were able to walk into the town centre which were a few minutes away. Also the distance to see other places were not too far. We stayed in Room 5 . The room was comfortable but the only thing that spoiled our stay was the creaking floorboards above us and the noise from the people above.

The location is very handy for the railway station (about 5 mins walk) and bus services nearby. The town centre is very close by. We were welcomed by the owner who was very nice and approachable. Our room was lovely, spotlessly clean and nicely decorated, plenty of tea & coffee, nice toiletries in the bathroom, comfy bed and nice hot shower. The breakfast was superb, everything you could think of and the hot breakfasts were freshly cooked.

We enjoyed a very pleasant stay at the Tudor Lodge. The rooms were well presented, clean and quiet. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating and the breakfasts were great! The local amenities were excellent and we found a fantastic beach 27 minutes away. A generally great stay and an enjoyable weekend.

Friendly hosts, well organised, it was easy to message them before I arrived. Comfortable bed. Good shower. Very helpful with local knowledge, maps available to read for local walks, responsive to queries when they came up. Lovely breakfast.

Poor ventilation. Accept the owners cannot be responsible for the heatwave, the lodge had low ceilings, small windows and no scope for fresh air. They did provide good fans for cooling which marginally helped.

The room was well appointed, breakfast was excellent and it was very convenient for the amenities of the town.

I was staying there during the heatwave and, because the room was on the ground floor at the front of the property, one could only open the window a very small amount, so it was very warm under those circumstances.

We liked the style of the lodge, the friendly warm greeting from the host, the decor and little extra touches we could see. Our room was comfortable with tea and coffee making in our room. The property looks dated. The room was small and stuffy, no air conditioning (fan provided though) which was needed as the temperature was 25C. No bar, no restaurant and with a 4* rating that was expected.

Δεν μας άρεσε (και μας ξένισε ο τρόπος που έγινε αυτό) το ότι μας αρνήθηκαν το να πάρουμε μαζί μας 2 μπανάνες που είχαμε πάρει στο τραπέζι μας όταν φύγαμε από τη σάλα του πρωινού.

Me and my husband have stayed at Tudor lodge a few times now, and every time we have had a wonderful experience. The hotel is located just around the corner from porthmadog high street, so is very convenient for visiting local shops and cafes. Our visits to Tudor lodge have always been very relaxing. The owners have been friendly and welcoming, and always going out of their way to help us with anything we need. The rooms are comfy and always clean and tidy, and we have never had any problems with noise from outside. Also, the breakfast each morning is the best! There's a wide variety of cereals, fruits, nuts, pastries, meats and cheeses, porridge, juices, and you are also offered a choice of cooked breakfast and a hot drink. We have found Tudor lodge to be excellent value for money, for the service, the rooms, breakfast and atmosphere. We will continue to return to Tudor lodge for holidays as we always enjoy our stays!

The breakfast was one of the best breakfasts I have encountered. Plenty of good quality options from which you can select. I particularly like loose leaf tea, as opposed to tea bags. The fresh milk for tea/coffee in the fridges in the rooms was a nice touch, and most unexpected. The bed was very comfortable. Claire and Steve were very welcoming and helpful. I have already recommended Tudor Lodge to a friend.

The staff were so kind and friendly. The breakfast was excellent, lots of choice and top quality sausages and bacon. The avocado on toast was delicious too. The room was spotless, the bed , duvet and pillows cosy and perfect for the temperature.

Tudor Lodge is well placed in the middle of the town, with ample parking on site. The house is well kept and the welcome from Clair warm. We were directed to an upstairs room, that was exceedingly warm and very compact. The shower was easy to operate and hot. The white towels were large and fluffy. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows. We slept well all three nights of our stay. The breakfast choice was wide. I am sure Clair caters for everyone’s taste on the buffet, with a few variations of hot dishes cooked to order too. A very pleasant stay if you can manage stairs as the dining room is on lower ground level. We would love to stay again, but would ask for a bigger room. We were advised they have three..

The overwhelming warmth of the bedroom. The towel rail heated the whole room along with the heat from the fridge in the wardrobe warming our clothes. There was a fan provided, but it was noisy and I personally don’t like a draughty directly on me.

I travelled to Porthmadog via train, but unfortunately, due to rail disruptions, I was late arriving at Tudor Lodge, and after the time that reception had closed. However, there was a clear note left for me at the front door, with clear instructions on where I could collect my key, what room had been assigned to me and how to get around once inside. Then, for breakfast, I got a very good greeting, with questions to ensure that I had no problems in getting in the previous evening. One of the great things about the place, apart from the very friendly staff, was the breakfast supplied.

The hosts were very kind to accommodate us for an extra night after our first one. Unfortunately, we had to change rooms. We were hoping to stay in the same room, as it would have helped reduce unnecessary cleaning of bedding and towels, better for the environment and simpler for everyone. We couldn’t quite understand the reason for the move, but we appreciated the support nonetheless.

I am extremely upset and angry with Tudor Lodge. We were booked to stay this weekend for 2 nights. Unfortunately we have had a death in the family so are unable to go. I requested a cancellation last weekend and explained the reason why. They have said they will still charge me the full price of the stay regardless of the cancellation reason. I understand it is a business, but I feel there should be a reduction in the cancellation fee due or at least some empathy shown to the heartbreaking circumstances that have led me to cancel. I have now received a 'no show' status on my booking.com account which is incorrect as I cancelled via the app and spoke with Steve at the hotel. I queried this with both the hotel and booking.com. The hotel advised it was booking.com that has to tell them I have cancelled, but booking.com told me it's down to the hotel. I was fully prepared to rebook our stay at a later date, but I will not be doing that now. I am being charged over £400 on top of having to deal with an extremely upsetting situation. Not very good customer service at all!!!
