No kettle/tea making facilities in room in room

Far far too hot in the bunk room, I'm not sure what that little fan was supposed to be helping!

Ease of location

No lockers to store luggage, despite stating on the website there was. No kitchen/facilities to prepare and store own food like a usual hostel Light in dorm room wasn't working

The very easy check in and the staff was very helpful nothing was to much for them

On this occasion the only problem was that the lift was out of order and we had to use stairs

Windows of our room were open when we came and we couldn't shut them, therefore, ended up with a city noise...breakfast was just ok....this isn't a 3 star hotel....

Lift out of order,window nailed shut in room due to faulty window restrictor, so room was very hot and uncomfortable to sleep. Door to bathroom wouldn't close.

I've been twice before. Was good being able to guarantee bottom bunk in mixed dorm for an extra £3 for the entire stay. Was near window, so got nice fresh air. Good that en suite toilets/showers were behind another door. More privacy! Seemed to be free hot drinks from machine in reception. Bed light and sockets. I was able to rig up a privacy curtain using sarong and clothes pegs round my bottom bunk.

Couldn't access cage locker under bottom bunk, as it was blocked by adjacent bunks. Don't like background music in reception area. Mostly screeching women singers! And when one person had TV on in otherwise empty lounge area, I had to go to dorm for peace and quiet. Couldn't completely turn off cold water tap in room 102 toilet. Mentioned to staff, but I'm not strong enough to completely turn it off. Waste of water. Shower in room 102 drained slowly. Seemed to improve on day 3. I didn't have water running all the time I was using it. Idiot room-mates playing TV on their phones without using headphones. People talking and beeping phones while others trying to sleep. I wish I'd known about the microwave and hotplate thingy in reception area. A microwave cover would be a good idea to prevent splashes. Hand dryer not working in ladies toilets behind bar.

The room was really worn and the decor was well worn. No mugs left at breakfast. Stayed weekend of Great North Run and felt it was expensive for what it was

The location is amazing, very close to the city centre yet very quiet. Breakfast is nice.

The room does not look anything like on the photos, no window and ventilation at all. No TV however it is stated with TV. That room should be taken down for sell on the market. I will not book the stay if I was informed the room has no window.

First time ww had stayed in a hostel and ww were both in our 70 s Lovely staff and clean and comfortable room.

It was hot in the room but not sure what can be done about that.

I know its a hostel and people coming and goung all hours getting up to use bathroom showers apart from that was nice stay i would stsy here again but next time i would take private room

I went for the great north run, I had not clue of how to get around or what was the best way for my mum to watch me as she came with me, the lady who was on reception was super helpful and friendly and gave great advice. The location of the Kabanna was very convenient for getting places close to the race as well as places to eat.

Only little gripe I have is that the breakfast was not a continental breakfast as it was advertised but that is my only teeny tiny complaint.

Bungalow was very hot and damp when all the beds were occupied and it was even hard to breath during the night. One of the showers didn't have a lock, the floor was so sticky that it reminded me of nightclub floors at 4 am, fan sounded like a broken engine and it did not help with the heath. If this is the case in September, I don't recommend staying here during the summer. Also storing your belongings for a day costs extra; for me it was 5,49 pounds for 8 hours. Dormitory's door was so squeaky that it was impossible to go in and out quietly.

Because it is hostel room . Please provide a separate box or something related to that so that we can keep our personal belongings inside.. and make it lock.

It was a good hostel, clean. It felt safe and comfortable, the bed was comfy. The location is great too, on a quiet street but very close to transport and the centre. - I would come stay here again

The room is expensive for what it is. But overall the only issue was the lack of ventilation in the toilets within the rooms - they had no windows or ventilation. It would get super humid and uncomfortable when showering or getting ready in them.

Staff were nice, room was good sized (even if my room was windowless but I didn't mind). Very close to city centre. Nice little lounge area with TV and books. Entertainment. They let you also store our luggage before check in (and at a charge for after checkout)

Drinks machine stopped working after my second night. That's all, I'm sure it's fixed now.

The center was really near. The hostel was clean, the stuff was friendly and helpful. 24 h reception, so you can check out very early too.

The bathroom was extrem tiny, that was a bit uncomfortable.

Es hätte wirklich sauberer sein können! Wirkt als ob bei der Zimmerreinigung bewusst der Fußboden ausgelassen wird. Das kabinenartige Minibad ist gewöhnungsbedürftig und muffelt, Frühstück in der Tüte hat Vor und Nachteile (ich kann es mitnehmen ist aber jeden Tag das selbe)

Кімната простора, а ліжка дуже м'які та комфортні для повноцінного відпочинку. ​Обслуговування на висоті, персонал дуже приємний та привітний. Також порадувала затишна зона відпочинку в холі з безкоштовними гарячими напоями. ​Локація просто ідеальна — центр міста в пішій доступності, але при цьому в самому хостелі дуже тихо та спокійно. ​Щиро рекомендую!

value for money, staff were helpful and friendly and the kitchen area in the lobby was handy. easy check in and check out process.

walls were thin and you can hear fire doors slam every now and then even late at night. the female dorms did not have curtains for the beds (although this was already known from the listing). toilet seats are right next to the shower, only separated by a shower curtain, which means the whole unit can get quite wet in-between showers.

The room, toilet, and shower were clean enough. There was a lounge on the ground floor which was nice to have meals and do work. The staff were helpful and friendly, and provided cutlery for my meals. I appreciated the free use of the washing machine as well. The location was convenient, pretty much in the city centre.

The locker under the bunk bed was a bit annoying because the lid did not stay open on its own. There was no kitchen, only a microwave and hot water (along with tea and coffee), so I was limited in the meals I could prepare.

In paio di cose non ho apprezzato molto, non c'era la cucina è un servizio miche molto ostelli a mio punto di vista saranno togliendo ...sia perché bisogna spesso pulire (anche colpa dell' intelligenza delle persone )sia perché è un servizio che costa molto agli hostel pagare persone per tenerla pulita e in ordine costa ..e poi la sala pseudo refettorio non era il massimo dell' accoglienza una stanza di 6 mq x 4?..con 3 scaloni larghi per sedersi o sdraiarsi in pseudo divani improvvisati .. "qualche cuscino(? )poco igienico visto che c'è gente che ci dorme su o ci mette i piedi sopra..tra l altro scomodi poi c'erano dei tavoli con sedie LEM scomode ..insomma facevo prima a mangiare qualcosa in camera

Most of the staff were friendly and were in a good mood. The location is good with lots of shops and eateries nearby.

The toilet/shower layout is unhygienic- the toilet is practically inside the shower cubicle 🤮🤢 with water that drains in the floor, this water that can easily be felt whilst sitting on the toilet that is on uneven shower flooring makes you feel like you are sitting on an airplane toilet, there is no space for your knees and feels so crowded. There is no extractor fan just some outlet in the ceiling which does not actively remove air so make sure you have air freshener or cheap perfume/spray to hand, you would not want to waste spraying expensive perfume like I had to. Had there have been photos of this cubicle I would not have booked this hotel, instead there were photos of hand wash (not sure if they are like that in all rooms). The heater or ac built in system does not work, so can be very stuffy and hot, and felt too hot too sleep at night this is also due to safety features on windows which I can’t fault as safety comes first but very stuffy and hot, would have been a nightmare on heatwave or hotter/ slightly warmer days. I had to sleep on the floor. Thank God I didn’t have to sit in this hotel room for long period of the day.

Comfy bed just for a night

Noise in room , 1 lad was snoring all night so barely slept , then had a drunk male swearing and shining his phone touch light on everyone which annoyed alot of people

Okay hostel met een grote parkeergarage er vlak bij en dicht bij het centrum. Er zijn leuke restaurantjes en cafeetjes in de buurt. Het was een ruime kamer.

Het is niet zo schoon. Viezige vloer, kapotte haakjes. Beetje smoezelig.

The only thing I’d note is that I booked for a 4-bed dorm room but I was moved to a 10-bed room down the basement without any notice. It was so scorching and poorly ventilated that it was hard for anyone in the room to fall asleep even though it was 10 degrees outside, the door often creaks when someone walks in and slams against the frame waking me up couple of times during the night The bathrooms were clean but there were no soap/shampoo, towels and dryers so you’ll have to expect that

Again what a great stay we had we didn't want to leave we wanted to stay for ever lol the staff are such amazing staff we could ask for unfortunately u didn't have a room available for the Tuesday so we had to book somewhere else but couldn't wait to get back this hotel the next day and again we had a fantastic time so once again thank you to all your staff and you should be glad to have the staff you have brilliant

Not your fault but rooms are far to hot maybe get some fans that people could use but absolutely amazing hotel and staff we will see you all in a couple of months when we are back

- It was very hot and the rooms were much hotter than the outside. There was very little ventilation and the hotel could not provide us with a fan so the time we spent in the room was uncomfortably hot - There were no plug sockets within reach of the mirror so I was unable to use hair tools - Very few flat surfaces in the room to place items - No cups or mugs in the room

I visited during summertime and made a late reservation. Due to this only a 2-person room without window was available. It was extremely hot in this room. Luckily a fan was provided.

The grab and go breakfast is basic, has a croissant, instant oats, jam and juice. There is milk in a bar fridge for tea and coffee always. The bathroom had toiletries like shampoo and body wash.

The bunk beds could do with curtains for privacy. Also the socket did not work. The room is narrow and small, it definitely needs a fan for the warmer weather.

Friendliness. Location. High level of cleanliness and professionalism for such a price. Coffee/tea with condiments for free self serving, got a towel and backpack stored without extra charge, rooms very clean, including the shower. Soap/shampoo, toilet paper and everything needed for bathroom well stocked, ecological, high quality. Nice ventilator+air conditioning, positive surprise. Nice little artsy lounge area. I am staying here again if I visit Newcastle. 🙏🏻😌

Not much, really...!

Location great. Breakfast was really handy and tasty. Beds clean and comfortable as were towels. The toiletries were great! Key card to get in and out made it feel safe and secure.

We seen two gentlemen on reception at different times. One was very friendly and the other when we approached was on his mobile phone finishing what seemed to be a message for at least a minute as we stood there unacknowledged, we felt very awkward. There was some confusion over having a fan in the room. I did message ahead of time and was told there would be one available then was told I couldn't have it. That's fine but It was so hot in the room it was almost unbearable. I messaged previously for the fan because I would have brought my own if I knew it was not an option. We had to sleep with the window open due to the heat and it was so noisy (outside noice can't really be helped and there was construction going on) so we didn't sleep well. The room floor was very dirty! Needed hoovered and mopped throughly. We didn't say anything as we managed just wearing our shoes as we didnt want to be a bother only being there the night.

The room is super small, while one person kept clothes on the chair, the other had to keep them on the floor. It's very difficult for a bigger person to use the toilet seat or the shower.

Didn't always have milk for a cuppa they said there was powder milk but that don't go with tea

For a hostel it was excellent value for money and was modern and clean

Everything is lovely from the staff to the room. Always clean. Bed is soooo comfy. Parking is cheap if you park after 8pm until 10am its just £4.
