South Causey Inn

Great location great food great staff

Wedding was on so some noise and fire alarm went off at 4am

We stayed for a wedding, it was very convenient for us, everything is a short walk, the staff were friendly, I liked the animal section, the breakfast was very good and rooms nice.

We called in advance to see if we could check in earlier because of the wedding and were told we should have booked the day before if we wanted to have sufficient time; all that was needed was to say they would try their best but that we could also pay a fee if we wanted a guaranteed earlier time.

So welcoming and helpful. Traveling just yourself with a toddler can be quite daunting but they really made it easy. Staff were so friendly to not just myself but my but young daughter also

Nothing really

Clean, modern and welcoming, with restaurant on site with bar

Music from the bar can be heard from the rooms in the main property. So if you want a early night be prepared to hear noise from the bar area

Friendly staff and very clean. Food was beautiful

Just one thing, the mattress was a bit lumpy on one side

Very good wedding venue. Food was exceptional

Bar staff were horrendous. Very overpriced. Security deposit taken 3 days before arrival and then a 7 day period to refund is borderline extortion.

Excellent stay for our friends wedding highly recommend

The grounds, settings for weddings and facikities you offer are good if i was was to get merried so im speaking for what i seen as a sleeping guest only

I didnt like £160. For very small twin room which i booked under booking.com which you allow and charged me £218.75 for the room. Response from you was wedding party should have informed us and not your problem its booking.com. In my opinion, work out a deal with booking.com or remove from the sercice so people do not get caught out and robbed in this way.

Clean, comfortable and spacious

We couldn’t turn the lights off in the wardrobe and tea/coffee cupboard but was lovely

Fantastic wedding venue and place to stay afterwards, top class!!

Staff were amazing! Place is immaculate and classy!

Staff were friendly .brilliant service .couldnt help enough went out there way. Food was exceptional.and room comfortable and amazing experiance

Our room was very clean and comfortable. Food was excellent. Waiting staff very professional and efficient.

friendliness of the staff particularly marked.

We were very impressed with the property. We stayed in the lodge which was excellent. The staff were amazing and very helpfully, friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend a stay here.

It was perfect.

Parking was right outside! It was clean and tidy. It was spacious with lots of extra details that were really well thought out!

Friendly staff, well organised event management. The hotel was charming and made for a perfect setting and backdrop for a wedding. Well done to the whole team. Oh and a fantastic breakfast!

Lovely setting!! Just a great location. Love the place.

See above

The room was tastefully decorated and was top quality. The beds was very comfortable. I was in a twin room with my sister and we both agreed it was the best night's sleep we'd had in ages. The staff were so helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We had an evening meal and breakfast and the food was very tasty with large portions.

I have nothing bad to say about this hotel.

Staff very friendly and helpful, especially Stacey

Staff make you feel welcome. The blonde sisters on reception are the first contact and cannot do enough for you.

Excellent place

Lovely compact room, original style and clean. Comfy mattress. Complimentary water in the room was appreciated. Great to have the excellent restaurant downstairs and the bar area was super cosy. Special call out to Bruno in the restaurant who really looked after us well. All the staff were welcoming and cheerful. Excellent choice for breakfast.

Had to request a kettle as it was missing. We had room 10 which looks out onto a flat roof with the industrial venting from the kitchens - It was similar to the noise of an airplane. However, it was quieter overnight, so didn't disturb our sleep. There is a warning about noise on this room's details, but we'd assumed that referred to bar or restaurant noise. If you're sensitive to mechanical noises pick a different room!

Just a great venue!! Staff are willing to help!!

Nothing at this time

The property had very extensive facilities, all imaculate

Nothing really,a bit noisey with functions but not , over intrusive , not really a quiet place just to sit and relax.

Food was nice and the staff was brilliant

A bit too expensive

The food and breakfast and grounds where amazing

The rooms are very small for the price .

The room was exceptional - it was clean and had a beautiful scent to it. The service from staff was excellent, I had a manicure and I was very happy with the outcome and service.

The breakfast was great, but the toast was cold and the bread seemed a little stale. A gym would be a nice to have on the property.

Excellent location. Great variety of facilities and different areas for different events. The complex was extremely tidy and the staff seemed really happy.

The room was expensive for a standard double.

Ace

Bottom bar on grounds not open

The attention to detail, it was well thought out. Our room was lovely and cosy. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, i would definitely stay again and recommend.

A fridge in the room would have been good

Nice from the outside.

There was an extremely rowdy wedding reception that I was not informed of prior to booking. When I complained to reception they basically said tough, read the small print and it will go on to at least 12.30 AM. I explained I had been in an accident and going to hospital the next day for treatment they would not move me and refused to refund, even though I had booked only an hour before. Apart from the rude staff and noise, you can hear every noise in the rooms and the interior is very cheap. I had to leave the hotel the same night to stay at another hotel. I will be seeking a refund from my credit company.

Location

Room 5 bit noisy

Very well kept, clean and inviting. Loved all the flowers around the place, especially inside.

good staff and clen room and comfy bed

room was small but as advertised

Gorgeous, quaint hotel!! Lovely food… staff amazing… lovely stay!

The room was so hot!

Multiple bar and restaurant rooms. Heated pods in the garden too. Fantastic afternoon tea....and good quality cooked breakfast Quirky decor - lots of interesting decorations in the main bar and restaurant areas and also in the bedrooms. Great shower room - spotlessly clean. Warm and cosy bedroom with comfy bed. Sufficient hanging space and good guest facilities in the room - iron, ironing board, kettle with coffee, tea and premium biscuits, bathrobes and nice quality toiletries. Plenty of free carparking. Very helpful staff.

Room price felt very 'top end' Lock on the door jammed and we had to call reception to open the door from the outside so that we could get out. Fortunately, only a momentary delay to our breakfast and Reception confirmed that it would be referred to the maintenance team before the room was next used.

Food and staff were excellent.

Nothing

i have stayed on a few occasions and always enjoyed the atmosphere and surroundings.

The heating was overpowering in the bar, also in our room but did not realise we could turn it down with thermostat🙃.

Loved how friendly the staff are and our welcome Treats

In our room TV kept cutting off when watching it and the tap on the bath was a little rough with hubby being blind in one eye didn't see it and cut his knee we also noticed staying in the bus was slightly damp and wet on the left hand side of the floor near the bed but with it being for valentine's Day made the most of it x

Beautiful room

Nothing was lovely and staff great!

It was a really charming place, quite a larger site than expected and easy to get to. The food was fantastic although the portions were huge! The staff were the stand out though, everyone we dealt with was so helpful and friendly. The room was lovely, lots of nice touches and very clean.

There were literally only two things. The bed was quite hard so I didn’t sleep well. And we could hear absolutely everything going on in the room next door, they were watching tv until 4am and where very loud when talking in the morning, very thin walls so I’m not sure I would choose to stay here again sadly

Fresh produce,well presented,tasty

Coffee was only warm

Everything, beautiful location and place to stay.

Beautiful place to stay, yellow room is gorgeous room to sleep in The staff couldn’t do enough for us, friendly and helpful 10/10

It's was a lovely little place in the courtyard. Very close to everything. Doggy friendly with a pet bed bowls and a treat for my fur baby.free water & snack. Dressing gowns and slippers and shower gel shampoo and conditioner.
