The parking is full of rubbish, a better housekeeping outside would give a much better appearance. Breakfast starts too late during the week.

Nice quiet accommodation, clean, very friendly staff, comfortable bar and tasty dinner.

WiFi was very weak, breakfast is not available until 8am at the earliest.

The room was decorated nicely. The tea and coffee making facilities were good and it was spacious. The bed was comfortable.

The windows need curtains as the light comes in through the blinds. The towels are too small. I much prefer a bath sheet to wrap comfortably around me rather than a bath towel that barely joins together. The duvet cover needs to be bigger so that there is duvet to spare. A double bed needs a kingsize duvet.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, the breakfast was lovely, the room was just what we needed. The location is great for getting into leeds in 20 minutes. We would definitely stay here again.

We booked this area ideal for our Emmerdale visit excellent from the motorway. We got the train into Leeds after parking the car so efficient and easy. Then easy route to Emmerdale tour

Room was great and spotless although very warm but in the middle of the heatwave. Pub was nice and meals ok but we did find an Indian restaurant further down the road after we'd eaten which looked lovely. Breakfast was lovely and a good choice. Very friendly staff member serving the morning service. Very hand to get to and good parking area.

Staff member checking us in not very chatty and although showed us to room didn't give any information for breakfast times etc. Was only young so may just need a little more experience. Wasn't rude but could be a little more welcoming.

Friendly welcome from staff in the cafe/pub. Comfy bed. Lovely breakfast (ignore the reviews saying it is bland, only thing I would say is to cook the tomatoes a little more) & coffee was decent. Value for money.

With warm weather so got very hot inside room. We thought ahead and brought our own fan but also left the window open a touch...unfortunately, mosquitoes got in and we were bitten. I.e. bring insect repellent in summer.

Location. They gave me a key early as I couldn't check in after 2pm. I then let myself into room late evening. Service was pleasant.

Room perhaps needed a new mattress. Breakfast was OK but the some of the food was pretty tasteless. It wouldn't have hurt them to offer fruit juice or a second coffee....

The room was much better than expected. Very clean, spacious and felt cared for and not dated. I was nervous staying at a pub on a Saturday night it would be loud but it was silent apart from the birds in the morning. We had a nice meal too.

Sunday breakfast isn’t served until 9-12. I didn’t realise breakfast would be so late so missed that. Also odd that check out is at 10 but breakfast up until 12. Was advertised as WiFi which there is in the pub but it doesn’t work at all in the room we were given.

the issue i had was to do with Booking.com's website - I asked you to filter for properties with breakfast included and then chose this property on that basis, only to find that the price paid did not include breakfast - obviously my error for not spotting that but it was not immediately apparent that it was not included - perhaps your booking system could be clearer before checkout... that was the only disappointment, other than the stay was good.

Room was fairly compact but everything you could need was there. Hairdryer, iron, tea and coffee machine, kettle.

Bathroom step, out of shower, was a bit slippery when wet. But as long as you're careful. Maybe 2 bathmats would work. 1 for the floor and a narrower one for the step. Light over mirror in bathroom could be changed, it was very dim.

The staff were incredibly friendly and very helpful. We loved seeing them for breakfast everyday. The room was really nice and clean and suitable for us. The location was perfect for the needs of our stay.

The WiFi didn't work all the time when we were in our room.

Nothing, awful experience

When we visited the room was so bad we refused to stay, we were on site no more than 10 minutes. The Angel and Royal then refused to return any money, including the £35 I was surcharged for 45 minutes early check in, parking and £20 extra for my Yorkshire terrier small dog. I feel utterly ripped off and have never been treated so badly by a hotel.

We booked the accommodation for my dad, he hasn't got a big appetite so he had the porridge. Myself and my husband joined him for breakfast, we had the eggs benedict which was delicious. Dad was given a sealed tub of porridge oats and hot milk to add. He ate it but said it would have been much nicer if made from scratch in the kitchen.

The staff made us very welcome and comfortable and were very accommodating and helpful.

Thermostat for heating

The staff couldn’t have been more helpful, they all went above and beyond and were more than accommodating to any request. The food and facilities in general were really good and the price of food/drinks was more than reasonable.

The beds could’ve been a little comfier however they certainly weren’t uncomfortable by any means.

Room excellent, again, about fourth time we have stayed

Not booking new years day, as we arrived at 1630 to discover food had stopped for the day! Co-op next door open, so bought snacks in there. Also the food menu the next day has reduced dramatically from our previous stays, and our friends that we were meeting had to return their meals as they were not cooked enough. Also, the gammon steaks were extremely fatty.

the room was absolutely fine. clean. with a TV and tea making facilities.

No Coffee for some reason??? but the beds however....awfull cheap nasty mattress. way too soft, sat on the bed and disappeared though it. could feel every spring and really soft. also the matress was very noisy when turning over. - memory foam mattresses are so cheap these days and you could buy one for the cost of one nights accomodation. £85 for this room is too much!

Generally fine but ....

Shower didn't work. (ROOM2) We pulled the cord to operate the pump as instructed but no joy. No other power switch found. Reported it at breakfast but was told that noone was around to discuss it or give rebate.

Room was described as small when we checked in but it was alright for my mum and myself for 2 nights.

The room was warm, clean and basic (in a good way). It was an ideal stop for a night’s stay. The area is an easy train ride from central Leeds. It doesn’t have much to offer although an excellent RSPB reserve is nearby. I would judge that the area is safe. The Midland is on a fairly busy road. It’s a busy pub but the accommodation is not directly in the pub so not affected by noise from that source, at least not on a cold wet night. I paid separately for breakfast. It was good value. I understand the business has recently changed hands so all staff are keen to make a good impression. Check in was in the bar and on the day I checked in it was very busy so I had to wait a bit. A bit of patience at busy times maybe necessary.

I think I’ve put everything I wanted to say above. None of this was something not to like. The Midland proved an excellent choice for a no-frills overnight stay.

Modern and comfortable room. Easy to walk to the train station Surprisingly minimal traffic noise considering it’s not far from the road. Separate ‘stables’ building out the back of the pub so no noise from the pub. Free parking on site

Pipes to the bathroom towel heater quite noisy all night and there didn’t seem to be a way to turn the towel heater off
