Hotel Cala d'Or Playa

Amazing location! Also perfect for our family of 4 and we made all our meals ourselves and it worked perfectly. The beaches close to the hotel was amazing!

They only did room cleaning every second day

Hotel is in a very nice location, close to two beaches (one is a 5 minute walk away, go through the pool area and near-by park). Family game/play areas within a 5-10 minute walk, a lot of restaurants as well. Free parking spaces available close to the hotel itself. The hotel is clean and has plenty of nice rooms, some of which allow a nice dining on the terraces. Apartment was spacious with living area + small kitchenette, bathroom and bedroom. Comfortable beds, a lot of space and a nice terrace with sunbeds and a table + chairs. Breakfast option very nice (good ingredients) with freshly-squeezed orange juice available as well. Overall food was very good - getting pizza for dinner after late arrival, which was very tasty. Pool was good and big enough, a lot of sunbeds and separate smaller pool for little children + some short water slides as well.

Our second stay at Hotel Cala d’or Playa and we absolutely loved it again. Everything you need with clean and spacious rooms, great facilities and activities for adults and children, entertainment staff are great and a short walk to the beaches and main restaurants shopping area of Cala d’or - we will be back again next year!

Hotel ia very good for families. The animation team are excellent. Kids loved the mini disco and shows.

Alot of outsiders use the pool during the day and it can get very busy. Guest should be supplied with bands so only paying guests can use the pool.

Le personnel ayant de temps en temps aucune notion de l’hospitalité hôtelière. A 23h du soir il y avait des autres clients entrain de crier et faire énormément de bruit dans les couloir et les endroit communs. Aucune personne travaillant dans l’hôtel n’est intervenu pour les calmer ou demander d’arrêter. Certaines choses ont l’air pas entièrement completé, tout comme la jointure sur les carrelage de la douche.. (voir photo) Nettoyage des chambres un jour sur 3.. L’hotel demande soit disant de ne pas « réserver » des transats avec les essuies, mais sur tous les jours qu’on y était il y avait déjà des essuies dès 9h du matin… aucune réaction de l’hotel.

Pool for the kids and location

Reception staff are not nice at all. I asked to speak to manager they told me we don’t know when he will come they still owe me 28 euros which I don’t even want from them anymore . They clean every 2 days it’s fine but you have to chase them down for fresh towels. Almost all sheets were stained. They never gave us shampoo they never replaced the bar of soap for the bathroom. The fridge died on me I told them about it the lady accused me of overloading it ! I cannot believe I spent 3000 Canadian dollars on this place.

Vicinanza al mare.

Assenza di una fontana per pulire almeno i piedi dalla sabbia prima di entrare nella struttura. La piscina era letteralmente bollente, con acqua che sembrava in continuo ricircolo. Con il caldo torrido all'esterno, era orribile entrare in piscina e trovare acqua caldissima. La cassaforte della stanza era a pagamento!! Mai successo!

Le camere sono molto curate e ben organizzate, pulite, il personale è cordiale e con qualche minuto di camminata si raggiungo sia le due bellissime calette vicine che i ristoranti, anche se la zona più “viva” è ad almeno 10 min a piedi.

Ci è stata rubata la borsa dei giochi dei bambini, che avevamo lasciato incustodita per un’ora fuori dalla porta. È stato veramente spiacevole non vedersela restituire neanche dopo diversi giorni, anche a causa di un sistema di video sorveglianza poco efficace (solo l’ingresso ha delle telecamere).

Het personeel is super vriendelijk, ook het animatieteam doet leuke dingen met de kinderen. Het zwembad is netjes en schoon. Niet super veel chloor. Er worden wel bedjes bij het zwembad gereserveerd in de ochtend, maar de badmeester let soms op en legt dan kaartjes neer. Indien je niet terug bent binnen een half uur, haalt ze je handdoek weg. De kamer zijn verzorgd en de balkons zijn allemaal lekker ruim. Schoonmaak is prima, ook het ontbijt. Van typisch Engels, tot verschillende vleeswaren, kaasjes, zoete broodjes, yoghurt, fruit, verse jus, vers gemaakte ommelet. De kaart voor lunch is ook goed. Genoeg keuze! Ook in de gym kun je genoeg doen, een beetje creatief zijn met dumbbles en enkele apparaten. Er liggen handdoeken klaar en er is airco. Airco in de kamer werkt overigens ook erg goed, die kun je s'nachts prima uit doen, het blijft nog lang koel als ie even gedraaid heeft. Een auto huren is aan te raden, je kunt gratis parkeren op een beveiligde parkeerplaats (overdekt) incl. laadpalen. De omgeving biedt genoeg leuks. Ook voor jonge kinderen zijn op steenworp afstand een 2 soort mini kermisjes te vinden. Als ouder kun je daar een drankje drinken terwijl de kinderen 1 en 2 euro's aan het weggooien zijn in karts, boksballen, vliegtuigjes en grijpmachines. Verder in de omgeving genoeg restaurantjes, winkeltjes (supermarkt) en strandjes. De strandjes zijn in het hoogseizoen wel erg druk. Cala Gran is prachtig, maar je kunt nauwelijks een plek vinden of je moet om 8 uur gaan en het niet erg vinden dat iemand later 30 cm van je vandaag gaat liggen. In de buurt zijn er genoeg andere opties en helemaal fijn om later in de middag te gaan en te blijven hangen tot de zon onder gaat. Vanuit Cala D'Or zijn de mooiste plekken op het eiland binnen 2 uur te bereiken dus blijf zeker niet alleen in deze omgeving hangen!

Een beetje miepen wellicht, maar de verlichting in de kamer is erg ongezellig. Lijkt wel een ziekenhuis! Buiten ook, maar dat los je op met een gezellig kaarsje op tafel. De matrassen zijn overigens hard, dat kan lastig zijn als je dat niet fijn vindt slapen.

The location was great, and the food was good. The staff were exceptional!

The beds were like sleeping on bricks with bad springs 😴 and the cleanliness could be better in rooms and outdoor spaces.

Het complex ziet er mooi uit. Van buiten lijkt het een 4-sterren verblijf. Meestal werd er goed schoongemaakt in het appartement, heel fijn. Super mooie locatie, heel veel restaurants binnen 10 min lopen bereikbaar, net als het strandje Cala Gran en Cala Esmeralda. Leuk animatieteam met verschillende activiteiten. Mooi zwembad met goede glijbanen. Heel lekker dat er bij het ontbijt jus d’orange was. Maakt ontbijt al meteen geslaagd.

De wifi is wel echt verschrikkelijk, net als de tv-verbinding. We waren er met het WK en konden bijna geen voetbal kijken op de tv. Verder zijn de prijzen in het hotel vreselijk duur, echt belachelijk gewoon. Een ijsje voor €4,55…. Daar koop je een pak ijsjes voor. Dat kan echt wel anders en dan kopen de gasten meer en vaker, wat alsnog genoeg tot misschien wel meer oplevert. De koffie is geen koffie te noemen. Sorry, maar heb nog nooit zulk slecht drinken gehad.

It’s ideal for families with young children but maybe less than ideal for other types of guests.

Nice and comfortable rooms, we also had a huge balcony overlooking the pool! Great pool facilities and awesome play are and water slide area for the kids … everything you need is in hotel but also very close distance to Esmeralda Beach (and others) and restaurants all walking distance!

Great location, lovely clean resort, staff were so friendly and the entertainment staff were great with the kids. Perfect places for kids! Will most definitely be making the trip back to Hotel Cala Dor.

It was excellent for families. The apartments were well set up with everything you need and the pool and entertainment staff were attentive and brought a lot of fun.

Gute Lage, großzügiges Apartment (Schlafzimmer, Bad, Wohn/Esszimmer mit ausziehbarem Bett und Küche, Terrasse mit Sitzmöglichkeit auch zum Frühstücken. Wir hatten ein Zimmer zum Parkplatz gerichtet, was vom Lärm her toll war (ruhig). Bei einem Zimmer zum Pool hin gibt es halt einen gewissen Geräuschpegel. Personal war sehr freundlich. Tolles Kinderanimationsprogramm. Gute Restaurants fußläufig erreichbar, auch ein kleiner Supermarkt. Überdachte Parkplätze.

We are visiting second time the hotel with my family. We find the rooms comfortable and the area of the hotel is quiet and clean. The staff are very friendly and respond to every request. We first had a ground floor apartment but was too damp and was replaced next day with nice apartment on the first floor. I could choose from 3 different options even though the hotel was fully booked they accommodated our request. The animators are doing amazing job and the children had great time. The swimming pool and slides are very clean and great. We will be back next year. It is great hotel for young families!

We didn't like the food in the restaurant. Last year the chef was great and we dined every day at the hotel but this year everything we ordered was poor quality for some reason, so we had to go and visit local restaurants. The bar and staff in the restaurant were great.

The hotel was excellent for both my husband, myself and the grandchildren. The children loved the way the pool was laid out. The beach was only a few minutes walk away, as were many lovely restaurants.

The perfect location for a family holiday with young children (11 & 8). Everything is within walking distance to shops beaches and restaurants. The hotel is clean and tidy and the staff work incredibly hard all day. The entertainment staff are brilliant and really friendly. The kids enjoyed the slides and pool along with ping pong, football, snooker, air hockey, just to name a few. We did self catering for the first time which worked really well especially with the supermarket within 5 minutes from the hotel. A few times we went to the buffet breakfast which has plenty to offer. We went to 5 different beaches near the hotel and wow best beach we’ve ever seen. We would 100% recommend and come back. We had a great time!

There was nothing not to like. The only thing which is nothing major is the kids beds could be more comfy but thats all.

On a eu une chambre au rez de chaussé mal exposée,tout était humide car ni l air ni le soleil ne rentre de ce côté,je pense que les autres expositions côté piscine étaient beaucoup mieux ,les serviettes et les lits étaient légèrement humides c était inconfortable du coup et on a même eu froid du coup! Et il y avait beaucoup de fourmis et autres insectes et le troisième lit d appoint pas confortable du tout

Everything was brilliant, the room was spacious and comfortable, we had a top floor room and the view was great! Great variety at breakfast and cooked really well. Location was brilliant, 5 min walk either side to a beach and 10 mins into centre of Cala d’Or, Marina 15-20 mins but a lovely walk. Pool and slides were great our two boys really enjoyed this everyday and didn’t get bored, great entertainment team with fun activities for both kids and adults to get involved with. We didn’t see much of the late night entertainment but the ones we did were good fun!

Not really the hotels fault this one but some people are just way to loud, the apartment next door we could hear shouting and screaming most nights, we had to remind them to be quite one night as it was to much - but that’s nothing to do with the hotel, just other family’s poor behaviour!

Obiekt blisko najważniejszych punktów- typu: sklepy, plaże. Czystość obiektu, łatwa komunikacja z personelem, bardzo dobre wyposażenie i wspaniałe duże balkony. Apartamenty są wygodne, a śniadania smaczne. Okolica spokojna, dobra zarówno na spacery, czy też wybranie się na jedną z okolicznych plaż. Duży plus to też bezpłatny parking hotelowy.

Clean rooms with large balcony area. Small kitchenette but adequate. Loved the rainfall shower. Breakfast was fabulous.

The room was very spacious, comfortable bed. Breakfast Buffet was good. Swimming pool, activities and the water slides were a big hit with the kids.

I found the bar staff quite rude at times and even got accused of not paying for a drink at one point. The waitress got me confused with another guest! The drink prices seemed quite high.. not sure I have ever paid almost 5 euros for a lemonade! I think this is unacceptable..

wij vonden de bedden iets te hard.Er waren tegen onze verwachting in ook heel veel kinderen in het hotel.

Apartament was spacious and same as in the pictures. Had majority of equipment that an apartment has. The balcony was quite nice and with view to the pool. Bed was comfortable. Location was good.

Pool area and kid’s program

Our room was facing front of the building, balcony was directly front of the main door and facing bins are car park. In addition there was smoking area with a bench underneath. Not quite the relaxing experience and we could not enjoy the balcony, instead constant noice. I asked the staff three times if we could change the room but the advice was to ask a quieter room in advance next time - well there is not going to be a next time!

Great location, big room and a hotel with a lot of infrastructure. It was a great choice for us, to enjoy Cala DÓr.

La cama y lo grande que es el apartamento y el balcón

Sehr schöne gepflegte Anlage und superschöne Apartements ...wir machten Familienferien mit Kinder und Enkel ... Einfach perfekt für Familien... Das Frühstück war grandios , lässt keine wünsche offen. Die Badebucht ist auch gut zu Fuss erreichbar...wie auch das Zentrum mit den vielen Restaurants. Wir empfehlen ganz klar das Apartementos Cala d'or Playa weiter.
