Provider-sourced guest reviews.
Ample car parking, size of our room with superb walk in shower, very spacious for a standard room. Good breakfast. There is an excellent Spa, but we didn’t use it.
Too many coach parties, 3-4 coaches every day, but I appreciate it’s good business for the hotel as they have 110 rooms to sell. What wasn’t made clear when booking on your site, that we had to pay extra £10.00 per night because we had booked thru an outside agent.
Lovely friendly staff, great facilities, loved the pool
All was perfect
Swimming pool
Car park
Friendly staff Clean and comfortable Lovely breakfast Added bonus of a swimming pool and sauna
Nothing not to like
steam room and sauna were amazing
the 2 single beds pushed together to make a double and the “heated” pool
Situated in a reasonably good position.
The price. Having to pay additional for car parking. All the stairs. Booked on line as we were booking several locations. Our room was situated up a flight of stairs then down a flight of stairs. The fixed price breakfast is not good for us. Some of the parking spaces, at the rear, are difficult to maenouvre round.
Room,evening meal, staff.
everything went well
Locality and friendly helpful staff
A bit tired
Fantastic spa area with steam room, dry sauna and pool. Large rooms. Walking distance from the harbour, castle and good restaurants.
When my work for the NHS got cancelled, the hotel manager refused to change my booking to the next week so I lost £500. Shockingly bad customer service seeing that I have stayed there the whole winter.
Spa and the location
Value for money and cost of parking.
The staff were awesome, the room was so regal and luxurious. We stayed in a Superior King worth the extra price
The steak for dinner in the swanky restaurant was so/so
Comfortable room, very good food and the staff were friendly & professional
The rooms, whilst clean & tidy, were a little 'tired'
Room too warm / antiquated / very few plug sockets / curtains filthy/ we got a quilt with no cover and a cigarette burn in it !!
The room was shabby. Awful view ,hard pillows, bathroom light switch by main door to the room . The toasting machine should be bigger one piece at a time that comes out white.sausages poor quality Scrambled egg sloppy . Bar very uninviting barman yawning loudly told us he was bored.
The hotel is so beautiful, the rooms are good in size and the decor is lovely, in keeping with the building. A lovely spa and gym . And the staff from the manager down are really helpful and friendly
The only thing wrong is that we couldn't stay longer . Have stayed for a few years now, and love it each time. Can't wait until next year.
The reception staff were very good
Room was hot, beds tiny, soap empty, very tired and old, shower screen glued to bath, dirty, swimming pool made eyes sting.
The pool was very good. The staff were extremely helpful.
The room was very small and the bed was not big enough for 2 older people who need a bit more moving space. There was a great deal of disturbance outside until about 1 in the morning. I think someone should have done something about that. The steps up to the bathroom were difficult to negotiate in the night.
Entrance and stair case lovely. Bar area really nice.
The room was dated. Too small for the amount of money we paid for one night.
If you’re staying in Caernarfon… stay here! Everything was perfect. The room, the spa and the staff, especially Jude who went above and beyond to make my stay special - I will be back for longer next time!
The rooms were big enough
Location was good, close to the beach, supermarket and other amenities.
Pool was really cold. Jacuzzi was a part of the swimming pool, not seperate so that was cold too. Room was supposed to be a family room but in fact had 2 single beds joined together to make up the larger bed. Mattresses were really hard and uncomfortable, so much so I ended up with aches and pains by the morning. There was no a/c which is fine but the windows could only be opened a crack. Bits of wood had been installed to stop the windows opening properly. What made it worse that the windowsills were covered in dust. The whole hotel also had a very musty smell, like old socks. Additionallt the toilet didn't flush properly in 1 of the rooms either. Finallt, to top it off when we went for breakfast we were told we had to pay £38 per person for a buffet breakfast but others who had travelled with us were charged £13 per person for the buffet breakfast.
Downstairs has has a lovely refurb
Bedrooms need updating
Nice pool. Room was comfortable.
They wanted extra money to park outside even though I am disabled. Wanted extra money for breakfast too.
Location
Had to pay extra for car parking
Helpful pleasant staff.
Room was way too hot. No music or audience in the bar and restaurant.
History of it was interesting
Nothing
Ok morgenmad.
Easy to access and great friendly and very helpful staff from reception to restaurant staff

The facilities of the pool and spa. Location to the centre.
Central Location and clean
Rooms too hot, no air conditioning.
The location was great, as it was right next to a castle and walking distance to lots of restaurants and very close to supermarkets, hotel room was clean, nice and friendly staffs.
I was made to pay parking charge of £10 per night when i got to the hotel, the hotel room needed a bit of uplift, as curtains was ripped, the bathroom was getting a bit mouldy and the bathtub drain took extra long to drain.
The bar and leisure areas were really nice and the building quirky. Jude in reception was a delight, the only member of the team in reception who was, she took the time to engage with everyone and was very helpful and professional, the others we seemed to be inconveniencing. Bar food was nice as were the drinks.
The bathroom clean was not good at all, especially the shower. Rooms hot! Bathroom too small. Breakfast not great and rammed in so close to other people. Tea and coffee poured from jugs and not offered more than one cup. Evening meal was nice: however steak over cooked first time. However was very well priced and rectified rest was very good.
Very good swimming pool and sauna. Big spacious rooms. Clean bed sheets and towels.
No socket next to bed but thankfully Staff provided extension lead on request.
The Swimming pool
Unhelpful staff, stuffy hot rooms, food was bland and uninteresting. Booking made through booking .com was inaccurate and both booking.com and staff were unhelpful at sorting it out - really couldn't care less. Shame because it was meant to be a Special couple of days.
The reception area and swimming pool are nice
The family room we got was nowhere near as big as the photos look, at the back above the kitchen. Very noisy fans, bottles being thrown into a wheelie bin before 6am!
Lovely and welcoming
It would be better to have one room suitable for a family of 5 so we didn’t need splitting up. 2 adults and 3 children
Staff were friendly and very responsive. We greatly appreciated that they changed our room after the first one did not meet our expectations
The rooms and overall feel of the hotel is old Our first room was next to a generator and it was very noisy. There was no AC so we had to open the window and put up with the noise. The spa was not as nice as the pictures and quite crowded. Overall feel like we were "oversold" and the hotel was quite expensive for what it was
Pool and other facilities were fine.
The shower was a bit poor - the control was extremely stiff to operate. I think that if I'm paying £250 for a room then I shouldn't have to pay an additional £20 to park my car.
Like spa was good friendly team
Rooms can be better
Położenie blidko zamku i centrum, miła obsługa, wygodny pokój, dobre jedzenie
Location plus parking was available
Thought it was expensive
Location, staff, facilities
No air con
We absolutely loved it, a warm welcome from the lady's on front desk and all other staff were excellent, what made our stay the best was John we loved him, it was Mrs's Birthday and I brought the leftover half of cake with us and I should have brought candles for round 2 anyway John came out singing with a big candle in 1 hand and cake in other lol it was brilliant looked like a priest lol his hospitality all round was exceptional, a proper people person and because of him we will no doubt stay again, the hotel, the town, and the locals were all great oh and the castle in the town was Amazing! Half day job, best castle iv'e been to ❤️
Nothing
La posizione
Camere vetuste e non isolate, molto rumorose
Staff lovely and very helpfu.l X pool refreshing. Good location for us to explore area.
Hotel staff/facilities
Location
Great location. Enjoyed the swimming pool and gym. Fantastic buffet breakfast with an excellent selection.
Room a bit dated. Paying extra for car parking in the hotel owned car park.
Breakfast was ok and the proximity to the castle was good.
Rooms were old and worn Dangerous shower unpleasant staff Hidden fees Bad value
Basen duży, czysty i cieplutko, pokoje przestrzenne z wygodnymi łóżkami, czysto i schludnie, fantastyczny hol i klatka schodowa, fajny bar, miła obsługa
Niewielki wybór na śniadanie, płatny parking
Having to pay for parking. Very soft bed
Access to everything we needed Lovely breakfast and pool
No a/c and the room.was roasting hot. We ended up borrowing 3 fans and was still 28 degrees in room
Kind, helpful people. Comfortable room. Lots to do
Breakfast disorganised. Too many people coming and going
We had a lovely stay. The property was clean, comfortable, and in a great location. Everything was easy and straightforward, including check-in and check-out. Overall, a really pleasant experience and we would happily stay again.
NA
It was in a great location
Nothing happy with everything
Reception staff (Jude) lobby, pool, and steam room were excellent. Great location and fantastic base for getting around. Cleaning was good. Breakfast decent quality.
Young waiting staff seemed to be a bit clueless which made breakfast a chore. Dated rooms. Booking options were alittle confusing but all sorted by helpful receptionist.
The location. The receptionist of evening and the guy at the therapy side of the morning before we left were welcoming, was only overnight stay.
Additional food order took long to arrive to the table. Hence was cancelled. Breakfast was cleared from the stand quickly during the time we were eating at 9am. I had to ask for yogurt with fresh fruits. Rather pricey for overnight stay.
The historic building is very impressive, and the rooms are clean, spacious, and comfortable. The £10 per night parking is also a great advantage.
On the negative side, due to the size of the property and the high occupancy, the reception and breakfast areas felt a little chaotic and could be better organised.
Check in was fast and easy.
The reason we went away was to take our mum for a nice relaxing spa weekend. The jacuzzi was broke the whole weekend. We were told on Saturday it’ll be fixed on Sunday. However it wasn’t and nobody seemed to care. When we went for a swim at 6pm there were 14 kids in the ball. Throwing beach balls and screaming. It was horrendous. Also the costume drier in the changing rooms hadn’t been cleaned in years and there was a bikini wrapper stuck to the inside of it with so much grime it was disgusting. I really hoped this would be a nice stay but our experience was far from it. We didn’t get to relax in the pool and the jacuzzi being broke our whole stay was disappointing.
Good location, swimming pool, steam and sauna rooms.
Breakfast could have been better
La struttura è ben tenuta camere accoglienti. Colazione sufficiente . Troppo costoso per la qualità offerta. Comunque tutto bene
Large room. Just a 10 minute walk to the City Center.
Very dated. Needs a refresh of decor. Very poor ventilation. Hallway to our room was 5 degrees C warmer than the lobby and our room hotter yet, even with windows open. Staff did not provide a fan until asked and that only made it barely tolerable.
Staff friendly especially the lady on reception (sons in the navy) she was super friendly and helpful. Swimming pool really good but room dated and a little tired and hot
Room dated and tired. Was also hot.
The location is good, accessible to the shops and buses. The receptionist and staff are very accomodating . The rooms are nice and clean and the food is good quality , access to the swimming pool and spa.
The carpets, it has an old smell of old carpet.
Good location! Pricy having to park and pay as well as paying for our dog, Daisy to stay. The room was ok! Very hot Bathroom extremely small - I stubbed my toe trying to go into the bathroom on the bath, so not great. Breakfast was good and nice pool and spa which I used both days after a fall on the fells. Hotel is very dated and could do with a freshen up but on the whole a pleasant stay
Mega small bathroom, having to pay so much for parking and having to pay for my dog to stay
Staff on front desk and the the spa reception. Common areas were very clean and comfortable. Bed was very comfortable.
Parking charge. At well over £100 per night for accommodation, it is surprising that the hotel`s onsite car park that surrounds the hotel, charges guests £10 a night for parking. It was explained apologetically that parking is managed by a 3rd party, however, the Hotel ownership decides how it should be managed and by who, and this policy reflects negatively on them as owners. Also the available parking at the rear of the hotel is perilous, being on a handbrake testing hill side.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was great, a short walk from everything with plenty of parking. The breakfast was good and always plenty of staff around. Big room, comfy bed. We had no problem with the temperature in the room but our stay wasn't during the worst of the heatwave.
While the sink, shower, towels etc were all sparkling clean, the bathroom could do with a more thorough clean in the corners, behind the door etc.
Nice spa facilities
Had to pay extra £10 for parking. Bathroom very small, difficult to get in bath/shower due to bathroom layout
The sauna/spa/steam room was awesome, the location was good and the decor was lovely.
Breakfast was included, but the buffet was very limited (esp for a vegetarian) and needing to make a time to go to the dining room was weird: espy as it was to ‘avoid queues’ but there were no queues.
Everyone was friendly, helpful especially the Manager John who gave me a warm welcome. Breakfast buffet was lovely. Sauna each night was the highlight!
Friendly and welcoming staff, comfortable room and bed, lovely pool area. All clean and tidy.
Gym and spa was great
bedroom was fine
Very hard pillows. Caused my son to have a bad neck for a few days Exhorbitant charge of £35 for the dog AND £10 for parking Next night we were ccharged £10 for the dog and free parking The extra charges left a vew bad impression and I would not recommend the jotel for these reasons
very comfortable beds staff was very friendly
Good location, close to the castle and the water!
Lovely
No life guard in the pool area so couldn’t use steam room and sauna with my 10 year old.
Staff were friendly and nice.
The room and facilities are aged and need a refurbishment. Breakfast was terrible, not much choice, not adequately cooked. Nearly every table in the breakfast dining area was full of dishes not cleaned up by staff. Had an evening meal in the Restaurant and had to send the meal back as was not cooked properly and wasn't cheap.
It was very well located plenty amenities around
The only criticism I would have is there was no fan provided and being summer time and no aircon a fan would have been nice to have
Traditional but grand feel, the lovely staff, the size of the rooms, tea and coffee in rooms, blackout curtains, towels provided at swimming, great pool/sauna and steam. Location is amazing. Good price to park car. Loft to the room.
N/a (bed was firmer than I like but most people like firmer so can't look to mark it as a negative)
Il y a une très belle piscine dans l’hôtel. Notre chambre était plutôt calme et confortable.
La salle de bain est un peu vieillotte.
Hotel and facilities
The reception staff were excellent, the bar and dining staff couldn’t match them, they were not good with customers
the property is in a superb location for a visit to the area with excellent staff always ready to help and make a pleasurable experience however short your stay
Zeer vriendelijk personeel
Het ontbijt was onder de maat
Whilst housed in a conveniently situated pleasant building, the food was very disappointing. This was so much so that after our first breakfast experience, we decided against eating in the evening restaurant. In expectation (comparing the price we paid) of an outstanding stay and experience, we were most disappointed. Our bedroom was comfortable enough, nothing that special, but no reportable complaints. The hotel has long old corridors, and I suppose we might have anticipated problems having counted three coaches parked in the car park. The evening restaurant was closed one night as a result with we were told 89 diners being served that evening. The breakfast buffet was very poor indeed. The range of food on offer was limited. The fresh fruit comprised poorly prepared sliced watermelon and some whole cheap apples, past their best. The buffet presentation always needed restocking, but no one maintained the dishes, and the buffet area became a mess on both mornings. Items ran out, and there was nobody overseeing the operation. On both mornings we had to wait not just to be seated, but for anyone to notice that we were standing waiting. Our whole experience was such a let down, having paid more than the going rate compared to a local pub where we had stayed the two nights previously where service allowed a choice from breakfast menus. We are sorry to have to report in this way but we are realistic about our experience. We shall not return. This hotel provided us with a very lack lustre experience, whilst being overpriced by local comparison,
Music from bar very loud in rooms
Fab 4 nights with crusader, this hotel was our main Base to visit snowdonia , portmeirion and puffin island. Best bit the 3 course meal every night very tasty , big room, great breakfast. Good jacouzzi, although be warned water and pool unheated. Bar a bit expensive but when you are on holiday dont really mind Carnavon castle is worth a visit about an 8 min walk from hotel Just a suggestion box of tissues would be good in rooms. Recommended
Lovely location
In dining area staff appeared uninterested in us. No eye contact. Dishes weren't cleared away from table. No check to see if all ok. Even when we offered thanks not really acknowledged. I know they had just served 2 coach loads before us and maybe tired but all customers deserve a good quality of care. Food was lovely.
Good location great breakfast
No air conditioning in room very hot
Food was plentiful and well cooked (but see reservation about variety below) All staff were friendly and helpful. The reception staff were particularly so! The pool & sauna were very pleasant. The lift was very efficient (necessary for us). There was always plenty of hot running water.
The choices on the dinner menu were very limited. We would have expected them to vary throughout the stay, but they were the same every evening. The tables for dinner and breakfast were very small and cluttered. The need to book an accurate time to dine at breakfast and dinner was an irritation (although we appreciate that it did satisfactorily reduce queues at the breakfast bar). Dining room service staff should be reminded not to hold the "business end" of cutlery when setting the tables. This was particularly noticeable at breakfast, when the tables were being re-set for the evening meal. There were no basic amenities in the bathroom (soap, shower cream, shampoo etc) despite us having upgraded because our "King" bedroom had been very small.
This is a hotel of glorious past, and keeps up that tradition. Wonderful interior decor in soothing shades and tints of green, pleasant roof covered swimming pool with a sauna, tasty buffet breakfast, close everywhere, a key bus stop opposite, proffesional and welcoming reception. The hotel met our needs and expectations.
An addition of a small fridge to each room would be welcome.
Nimic
Clean, tidy and friendly staff
The pool was too cold
It was close to the town
£10 per night to park as and added extra was unfair. Rooms were too hot with windows only opening a tiny amount. No air con. And very expensive
Indoor pool
Old bathroom
Polite staff, easy to park and check in
It's extremely hot so you try to keep the windows open but the gulls are too loud. I also paid for a deluxe room and got one over all the bins, the food in bistro wasn't great, I left a night early because the area isn't what I expected
Spacious room...comfortable beds
Very old fashioned bathroom needs updating..nowhere to put washbag toiletries..Found shower dufficult to get control.Could hear toilet and shower being used from next door room. The room was boiling hot ..would expext fans at this price..The fruit would be better sliced in a big bowl like other hotels..easier to eat with the youghurt.Staff were a bit luke warm.. could be better..
Reception staff were very nice. Location very good.
I expected a lot more for the price and the reputation. Hotel room was super hot (yes weather was hot but a fan should have been provided without being requested) Poor value for money, room was very dated. Bathroom very dated. No usb points or plugs by the bed. Just overpriced and dated. Breakfast was average.
I don’t normally write reviews, but with the experience that me and my family had, I couldn’t resist… I stayed at this hotel last week and I had to write a review! This hotel had the best location, very close to the Caernarfon castle and super close to Asda and home bargains which is perfect for when you want essentials!! The spa was the highlight and reason for my stay and review. The spa was exceptionally clean and perfect for the hot weather. I was also welcomed by a lovely young lady who was very keen on her work and did a very good job explaining the rules for me and my family. unfortunately I don’t remember her name, but she had brown hair and she deserves a praise! My kids thoroughly enjoyed their stay and the pool. We will be back very soon!!!
Breakfast was good. Check-in and parking was excellent. The location is great.
The pool staff were abrupt and continually told me I had to get out, even though it was ahead of time for children to leave.
Great location, nice staff
No soap or toiletries in the bathroom. No fans available and the room was boiling.
Beautiful building, very clean and tidy and the staff are nice. Great location. Spa is clean and free to use.
