Reviewed Sep 14, 2026It's rare to stumble onto a hostel with high standards. Many are really good but Meininger is outstanding. The staff are as good for the guests as the quality of work they do. Some places don't do anything more than the minimum. Austria especially is a nihilistic place that wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire. But the staff here are as if on a mission to give 5-star quality of care for their guests, helping out with directions or whatever they can do.
I stared at this question for about 30 seconds before I decided I could not think of one thing.

Reviewed Sep 13, 2026A nice hotel; we enjoyed our stay. There is underground parking available, and we reserved a spot in advance. Public transport stops are nearby, though we preferred walking. It is not far to the city center. The room was clean, and the bed linen and towels were snow-white. It was quiet, and we had a restful stay. Special thanks to the reception staff—they were attentive and competent. There is a Penny store just a minute's walk from the hotel.
We liked everything.

L'hotel mette a disposizione una cucina in condivisione. Nella hall c'è un bar aperto h 24. Dopo il check-out abbiamo lasciato i bagagli in un deposito fornito dall'hotel.
Stanza piuttosto spartana ma forse dovuto dal fatto che era mansardata.

Zwischen Wand und Matratze meines Sohnes haben wir Chips gefunden. Auch der Boden war leider nicht sauber. Im Badezimmer steckte die Taschentuchbox in einer Wandhalterung, bei der sich beim Herausziehen der Tücher jedes Mal die vordere Metallabdeckung löste. Das sollte unbedingt repariert werden – das Metallteil ist mir nämlich mehrfach fast auf die Zehen gefallen. Ich habe die Box schließlich aus der Verkleidung genommen und unten auf den Heizkörper gelegt.

Stanza da 4 piuttosto piccola e con alcuni segni di usura ( spigoli scrostatu e pareti da ritinteggiare).

Die Garage ist ein absoluten Alptraum. Die Zimmer sind klein und schon etwas mitgenommen. Die Ausstattung der Zimmer doch etwas spartanisch. Ich würde sagen es war ok, aber ich glaube nicht dass ich nochmal dort übernachten werde.

Завтрак оказался просто ужасным — выбор небольшой, качество еды оставляет желать лучшего. Персонал тоже не порадовал: сотрудники были безразличными, медлительными и совершенно незаинтересованными в гостях. В целом, отель совершенно не соответствует ожиданиям. За такую цену можно найти гораздо более чистое и комфортное место с нормальным обслуживанием. Не рекомендую.

Не ми хареса хигиената и най много факта че трябва да де плаща на рецепция за кученцето отделно,а изрично търсейки хотел съм задала отметка със дом. Любимец как като търсиш слагаш двама възрастни с дете ? Е да не плащам после допълнително за детето като отида на място!

Reviewed Aug 24, 2026Like it's sister property (Sissi) just a few blocks away, this is a fantastic place to stay. The rooms are clean and functional, reception and check-in/out is efficient, and I love staying in these hostels with my family. They are all the good stuff and none of the bad bits that you would expect from staying in a hostel in your mid-40s!! Friendly fellow guests, buzzing atmosphere, lots more freedom than a traditional hotel, and the best part is how all sorts of people and groups stay and mingle. I love it here! The kitchen/common areas were up to Meiningers usual comfy and functional standards - the kitchen was a little smaller than some we have stayed in, but well equipped. In terms of the local area - it is slightly away from the city centre, but it is only a 10 minute walk to Taborstrase and Schottenring underground stations, it's 2 mins from several supermarkets, pizza takeaways, restaurants, and the bars and restaurants of Leopoldsgasse. All in all, it was a great (if not fleeting) stay!

Reviewed Aug 20, 2026La formula per l'uso della cucina, le camere con pochi fronzoli e con tutto il necessario occorrente funzionante, la temperatura regolabile facilmente, i letti senza reti ma con comodi materassi inseriti su tavoloni in legno, l'assenza di lenzuola e la presenza di piumino piacevole da usare insieme al climatizzatore.
I moscerini sulle pietanze della colazione. Specie nei pressi della macchina erogatrice delle bevande calde, caffè, cappucini, latte etc

Frühstück haben wir nicht gebucht, wegen hohen Preis. Hotelgarage ist sehr teuer, 25 Euro/Nacht. Wurde aber eine günstigere Alternative angeboten, allerdings 15 Minuten von dem Hotel zu fuss entfernt.

La distribución de las habitaciones compartidas es absurda: compartes cama con otra persona, no hay nada de intimidad (ni una cortinita) y no hay persianas en las habitaciones, por lo que en cuanto amanece no puedes dormir...

Reviewed Aug 17, 2026Very friendly and helpful staff at check-in - thank you Leon! Comfortable room and facilities and very handy to have the guest kitchen for preparing your own meals and storing food. Close to the beautiful Aufgarten where we spent a pleasant evening.
Some of the other buildings on the street seem a little run down but the hotel itself is fine.

Como cheguei com malas bem pesadas, o acesso inicial nao foi super fácil, mas p quem viaja sem carregar peso excessivo, nao há problemas.

The bathroom was small and quite old, needed renovation Also parking was 25euro/day and in itinerary there is no info that it needs to be prebooked in advance, but reception told is that we better pay for all stay because other guests reserved spots... so felt a bit like scam

had a bed in a 4-bed mixed room, which was actually just a standard family room with 2 twin beds that were next to each other and a bunk bed all in a really small room, which was honestly uncomfortably intimate but for one night it was okay. also the prices for drinks and food are ridiculous.

Not so clean, in the bathroom there was a persistent swuege smell. The central cooling system did not cope with the 38-39c heat in the period when we stayed there.

Reviewed Aug 4, 2026hotel was very clean, breakfast had many options but guess kitchen was very small we have to wait others to finish their meal, there is just one table for six people and the hotel is absolutely not in the city center you have to walk 15 min. to get a transportation.
it's not about the hotel but my dear room mate if you snore like that please don't stay in a drom

Dimensiunea camerei nepotrivita pentru cazarea a 4 persoane. Pereți murdari posibil datorită cazării multor adolescenti in locatie. La cazare am avut un miros puternic de clor, iar geamurile camerei nu se puteau deschide larg. Aveam doar opțiunea rabatat.

Personel sorumsuz. Otopark rezervasyon yapmama rağmen otele girişte otoparkın dolu olduğunu başka bir yere bize yönlendirebileceklerini söylediler ve bu konuyla ilgili sorumluluk alabılen hiç bir personel yoktu.
