Lovely hotel
Very expensive
Beautiful hotel lovely furnishings. Very comfortable bed. Restaurant was great and food lovely. We had a lovely stay, they kindly let us charge up our e bikes.
The rooms were lovely with a great view, you’re lucky if you catch it on a sunny day. Clean comfortable rooms. Room service was quick and efficient. The location itself is wonderful and cosy. Completely worth it.
Booked this hotel as we planned a short walking break around Chatsworth, the property is really spacious, tasteful, and in a good location. The room was clean and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful, overall very good
The shower only had a waterfall and no hand held option which is a minor objection
This is our third visit in last 10 years. The standards have remained high and the food is still excellent.
Outstanding breakfast with lots of choice and excellent produce, very good dinner also. The grounds were very nice and the setting in the Peaks beautiful. The room was large, very tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. We had a very enjoyable stay and will look to stay again when passing through the area.
While the main bed was very nice, the sofa bed that we also had to use (for a family of four) was not so comfortable. The floor in the bathroom got rather wet with the shower which was not ideal with small children, but this may have been because we were in an accessible room. While the grounds were beautiful, they were shared with a wedding party on the day we stayed, and we were worried about intruding in their photos/party; this did affect our enjoyment of the grounds a bit with small and active children.
A lovely big hotel with excellent facilities. Generous room - so clean, comfortable and stylish. Loved the tastefully decorated bar area too. Excellent restaurant with lovely staff.
I cannot fault anything about this hotel. From the minute we walked through the door there was always a smile. It didn't matter which member of staff it was or the department, everybody spoke and always had a smile.
Nothing
Location was perfect room was very clean and comfortable. Staff were lovely and helpful.
Tiny issue with a window that wouldn’t open
Superb! Lovely surroundings. Comfortable bed - not too hard or too soft! We had a superb view over the lake and could see so much wildlife, including highland cattle in the neighbouring field. Restaurant and bar superb (though pricey - for a special occasion). View over the peaks from the veranda is superb. We have already booked for two more short stays!
Nothing!
Gorgeous hotel, wonderful staff and very good food. Good place for relaxation.
No gym
The staff were great, and hotel room was nice as well.
The staff and room.
Stunning and beautiful
Nothing
Beautiful hotel and The staff are fabulous I stayed in a garden suite. I had bi fold doors onto a private garden with outdoor furniture. It was a beautiful view and setting. The room was very clean and well kept. I dined at the Red Lion In the evening and the food, drink and staff were amazing.
The only thing that would have improved my stay Air conditioning in the suites needs to be upgraded. The current system just blows warm air. A couple of nicer glasses for drinks from the mini bar
On the face of it the hotel looks great, but the whole experience starting from the hotel trying to charge the wrong rate compared to the confirmation rate and the terrible restraunt. Service in the restraunt is a 1 out of 10. Extremely slow service, average and very expensive meals. No one takes any responsibility. Normally we do not complain, but this is a real exception because it was so bad. We have travelled extensively and this is the worst service in a restraunt ever.
Great experience, food worthy of the rosettes it has been awarded; lovely staff and room and bed suitable for a 6 ft 5 ins tall man plus partner! We do plan to return but have not yet decided on the date.
If you are looking for quintessential English countryside with first rate amenities, look no further. Beautiful air conditioned rooms with a staff that cater to your every need. The breakfast in the restaurant at the Red Lion is so delicious with many options including an array of cooked options with the friendliest staff. Do have dinner there, the chef is exceptional! Highly recommend this hotel.
Lovely hotel with a boutique feel - lovely modern facilities interspersed with antiques. The in- room fridge contains complementary still and sparkling water and fresh milk for your coffee maker. There’s an excellent bathroom with free standing bath and separate shower. Staff were friendly and helpful and the restaurant was very good too.
Everyone was very nice and helpful, the room was nice and clean and as expected. We had the room in the picture above.
My granddaughter and her husband held there weeding her in July..everything was perfect everything was was done to perfection the ceremony, food and the grounds made it all look like should be in a magazine
Could not have chosen a better hotel for romantic night away. Everything was perfect.
Proper hotel with trained staff
Dinner menu limited and very costly
It was great.
Everything was fine.
Everything, room, food and service!
Beautiful view, great amenities, plenty of space for a family stay. Restaurant was delicious.
Nothing we didn’t like.
Hotel was picturesque in a lovely setting. Staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Our room was exactly as we expected and perfect for my Mum and I to chill. Beds were comfortable and the air con was a bonus in the heatwave. There were loads of communal spaces to sit and it felt spacious. The restaurant was excellent with very attentive and helpful staff and the food was delicious. Overall an excellent stay and would definitely return.
The food and room were both excellent. Clean, modern and comfortable.
Some of the male staff looked a little unkempt for this standard of hotel.
Beautiful room, beautiful location, staff couldn't have been more nice if they tried. The staff were very helpful. Everything was extremely clean and immaculately presented. The breakfast was also superb with many options available. The rooms also have air conditioning which is very needed in the hot weather.
Can't really fault alot! The complimentary tea/coffee options in the rooms were a little sparse but otherwise, I can't find fault with anything.
Love this place stayed several times now lovely location , foods lush, rooms are lush and vibe is lush. You won’t be disappointed.
Wedding, and reception, plus overnight stay, superb place!!! Staff were impeccably smart and polite. management should be immensely proud of what they offer guests.
Lovely hotel. Room 204 was fabulous. Staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast good with plenty of choice. They were good with the grandchildren.
The breakfast was truly excellent both with regard to quality & choice. The full Derbyshire cooked breakfast was delicious & set one up for the whole day . Location was really good with regard to the beautiful grounds & surrounding scenery- also well placed for visiting the Peak District!
There was nothing that we didn’t like but maybe our view is influenced by the fact that we had a premier room wit a balcony affording us with excellent views of the grounds & surrounding countryside.
Restaurant , staff and rooms were excellent
Wish the was a spa
We stayed in the Hardwick suite for my husband's birthday. The room overlooked the lake and the view was amazing. We loved waking up to see cattle, geese and fish in the lake from our Juliet balcony. The bed was very comfortable, excellent air con and a superb bathroom. The restaurant attached to the hotel was fantastic. A lovely breakfast (though far too big - you might want to share!) and a lovely setting for a relaxing stay. A thoroughly enjoyable stay and we will definitely go back again one day.
Sehr ruhige Lage ganz außerhalb von Chesterfield.
Nichts.
Lovely place to stay. The staff are very friendly and professional and courteous without being cloying. My room was beautiful with a Juliette balcony overlooking a bridge reminiscent of Monet's garden. The sommelier was really helpful even with wines at the cheaper end of the scale. As it goes I'm trying out a recommendation of his at home regarding white wines that are dry yet not acidic, make a change from viognier. I would highly recommend a visit.
Nothing.
One night her whilst up in Derbyshire on business I usually stay closer to the motorway but dynamic pricing was exorbitant at short notice Chose this place via TA / booking.com Nice setting Large well appointed room Very clean Good bed AC good, if a little noisy Management need to sort valve in toilet cistern - running continually, must be costing a bomb (109) Awful desk chair, makes you’re legs dead in about 10 mins :) Be warned almost no cellular signal (EE at any rate) WiFi ok but not great for calls I found - quite nice to switch off though Ate at the restaurant for dinner - reviewed separately - sufficed to say good but pricey I thought HUGE breakfast (included) Didn’t finish I’d more than happily return (and will)
This hotel is a little gem, a great find. We will certainly be using this hotel again. Ideally located for a visit to the Peak District
Very luxurious
Restaurant service was very relaxed timing… we had a toddler, and time was of the essence as it was a late evening setting for dinner.
The perfect wedding venue where the staff are so lovely. We managed to also get the perfect sunset for our day. Thank you to the team at peak edge we will be back to remember our beautiful day.
Stayed overnight. Room was beautiful, view was amazing. So relaxing. Very quiet around room. Air conditioning was brilliant. Would stay again without a doubt.
Beautiful location, lovely room. Great breakfast and very friendly staff
Beautiful hotel, stunning grounds, good quality rooms, breakfast was delicious.
We couldn't shower or wash or make a tea or coffee the next day due to a problem with the water. This did leave a bit of a dampening on our morning but we still loved our stay and would recommend the hotel to others.
Great location great Bedrooms Breakfast was a real high light spot on. Excellent Kipper. Very clean hotel staff very friendly. Nothing to fault.
Lovely and helpful staff who made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. The service throughout our stay was superb, with everyone being friendly, professional, and always willing to help. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and maintained to a very high standard, making our stay even more enjoyable. The attention to detail and cleanliness were excellent. The overall atmosphere was warm and relaxing, and we truly appreciated the effort made by the team to ensure everything was perfect. We had a wonderful experience and would not hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommended to anyone visiting the area.
We were there for a wedding and stayed for a couple of days after. The wedding and function room were well organised and it was a very happy occasion. The breakfasts were great with good variety and food cooked to order.
Service in the restaurant on the night of our arrival was slow with several items unavailable.
Excellent place and the food was amazing. Staff were very professional and smart. Not cheap but well worth it for a nice treat.
Well organised, warm welcome, comfortable spacious room, well trained and helpful staff.
Attended a wedding everything very nice pizza very nice
Price of alcohol hahaha
It's rustic design and attention to detail and beautiful theme throughout the hotel, all staff were amazing and so accommodating, it was a pleasure to be there
There was genuinely nothing to fault. Thankyou for having us
Absolutely gorgeous place. The service is simply immaculate, all stuff members are not just doing good their job but go beyond- they treat a place like their home and guests as their valued guests. The quality, size of the rooms, location, food at the restaurant all just superb This is my 6th time at this place, and I’ve stayed in many hotels in the area and trust me -this one in the ONE. They recently renovated the barn and I have had a pleasure to stay in it. If you are a family or just friends- this is a place to be. The design is absolutely beautiful stylish, elegant and thoughtfully done without feeling over-designed. Everything has been considered, right down to the details that truly matter. As a wine lover, I was particularly delighted to discover proper wine glasses. A surprisingly rare luxury these days! The barn itself is incredibly comfortable. Two gorgeous bedrooms with their own en-suite bathrooms, plus an additional family bathroom with a bath for the children's rooms (there are two more rooms one single and another one twin) make it perfect for both families and groups of friends. The living room deserves a special mention. The fireplace creates exactly the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to cancel your plans, pour a glass of wine and stay in for the evening. Outside, there is a lovely garden where you can enjoy both sunrise and sunset while admiring the beautiful Derbyshire countryside just sitting on the terrace, soaking in the outdoor jacuzzi or admiring it from the floor so ceiling windows. It is one of those places that immediately makes you slow down and appreciate the moment.
I am lying awake with time on my hands. I cannot sleep because the noise from the wedding which is happening literally at the end of the corridor is keeping me awake… for the second night in a row. Perhaps I should take a bath to relax. Nope, I can’t do that because the plug in the bath doesn’t work. I have reported the plug and the noise to reception who are evidently powerless to help. This is a large hotel and there’s a whole other wing which is much further away from the wedding. When I asked if my 3 year old and us could be moved to that side of the hotel I was told the rooms were all full…with wedding guests. I am gravely disappointed with a hotel that we booked for our anniversary weekend away.
My daughters and I were visiting England for the first time, traveling to four different locations. Of all the hotels we stayed, Peak Edge was our favorite. The rooms were spacious, very comfortable, and the food at the Red Lion was superb. Our luggage was delayed and the front desk was so helpful in bringing us toothbrushes, robes, phone chargers, etc. to get us through while we waited for our luggage to catch up with us. I highly recommend this hotel.
We stopped over at the peak edge hotel after we had attended a wedding there. The room was absolutely stunning , the bed was so comfortable. The rooms were spotless and they are really good sizes , everything been through out really well. I wish I had the time to have enjoyed the bath there but the rest of the bathroom was sparkling. The wedding was an absolutely brilliant day the food was Devine. Couldn’t recommend this place enough. I will definitely be coming back for food as this was my first experience at this hotel and I have not one bad word to say about it.
Stayed at the Peak Edge following our wedding day. The Ashover Suite is absolutely beautiful. A very special stay! The team were all helpful. There were also great gluten free options on the menu at breakfast! Wish we could've stayed for longer!
It was quite the veiw was lovely it was beautiful the breakfast
I thought it was expensive yes nice hotel but expensive didnt like the fact that you had to pay for a coke at breakfast as most kids dont like orange juice or apple juice so expensive £4 bacon was cold on the sandwich ..should be different drinks for children on menu
My sister and I stayed at the Peak Edge Hotel the first week of May this year (2026). it was perfection from beginning to end. Plenty of easy parking, friendly and easy check in, great rooms, great food, and excellent staff. We had a Juliet Balcony Room overlooking the pond and the field beyond with Highland Coos. Clean, excellent space, two chairs, divinely comfortable bed, and excellent large bath with separate tub and shower. Coffee and tea available in the room. Short inside walk to their excellent restaurant where we had dinners and breakfasts that were excellent. Food and service worthy of a top restaurant. The hotel is beautifully decorated. We especially enjoyed the art in the spacious lounge areas of the restaurant with plenty of cosy seating areas. And did I say the staff is amazing?! We had left some fairly expensive items behind, and the honest housekeeping staff turned them in and they were happy to arrange to return them to us. Without a question, we will stay here again. We give it our highest recommendation!
We stopped two nights at The Peak Edge Hotel and found it to be very slick and professionally run with luxury rooms and a very good restaurant. The attention to detail was commendable and the staff very friendly and efficient. The location was perfect for our needs being close to many historic houses and beautiful countryside. They managed to keep the 'event' side and the 'tourist' side separate so that neither impeded the other. The car park alone was a testament to their commitment with plenty of spaces and attractive flower displays. The only criticism was the prolific use of plastic flowers and trees - very tacky and not necessary! We would definitely go back and would recommend others to do so.
Lovely room , great food, quirky hotel. Lots of nooks and crannies to chill out. Fabulous location, just stunning! The weather was unexpectedly brilliant which just made it, just loved everything about our stay!
Disappointed we couldn’t get a quick breakfast on the Saturday morning as our taxi pick-up was at 7:30.
It was my birthday and my partner booked this hotel for a 3 night stay .this is nestled 8 /9 miles from chesterfield on a farm setting which is fabulous.the room we had was very modern with a blue tooth mirror a massive bath ,and a super king size bed.with a fridge super comfortable arm chairs a massive 50 ctv…faultless the meals breakfast and dinner I can only describe as delicious..the breakfast in the morning was superb ,whoever is the chef .should look at going on master chef .the bread all baked on site .i can honestly say this is one of the best hotels iv ever been to .and it’s only 12 miles away .not forgetting the staff absolutely fantastic.can honestly say there is not one word I can think of which is negative.great seating outside.loads of parking and plenty of ev charging points.we will be back
Peak Edge Hotel was the choice of venue for my daughter and son in laws wedding. This is a very special place and we will continue to revisit. Everything was faultless, the wedding, the food the staff and the service. I would highly recommend this venue for any occasion. We stayed two nights and the bedrooms were so comfortable and quiet. The interior design throughout the hotel is stunning. Thank you for a wonderful two days and memories of a beautiful family wedding.
Myself and my husband got married at peak edge on the 29/04/26 and it was absolutely phenomenal, the rooms were spotless, food was outstanding and the staff are amazing! Thank you so much Peak Edge, we will certainly be back!
We called in to Peak Edge Hotel without a reservation and were made to feel welcome straight away. We started with drinks outside, which was a great way to take in the surroundings, before heading inside for food. I had the fillet steak, which was cooked perfectly, and my partner chose the shin beef, slow cooked and full of flavour. Both dishes were spot on. The dining area itself was light and airy with a really relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere. Everything just felt easy and well put together. All in all, a great experience and somewhere we’ll definitely be returning to.
We attended our friends wedding on 29/04/2026. We arrived early to the hotel. The receptionist was polite and very friendly. Let us get in our room early. She explained all the amenities to us, which was very informative. Our room, OMG it was amazing. It even beats some of the Hilton hotels we've stopped in. All the staff were friendly, approachable and nothing was too much trouble. This morning after an amazing sleep and relaxing shower, we had breakfast. The breakfast fruits were so nice and refreshing. The the full English breakfast. Everyone said it was fantastic. I have never had sausages like it. Proper meat filled country sausages. Right move on from the breakfast haha. All i can say is thank you for a brilliant time and we will definitely be back
Beautiful furnishings and wonderful staff with professional service delivered at all points. Restaurant food was delicious.
We have stayed at this hotel before and this visit was just as good as our previous stays. The location is excellent and a great base to explore the Peak District. We were upgraded to the Chatsworth suite which was huge with a large sitting area and bathroom. The room overlooked the pretty grounds and had an outside sitting area. Food in the restaurant was excellent as was the service. The staff are very attentive and friendly. Overall highly recommend this hotel.
My friend had an awesome weekend where everything was excellent. Thank you so much
Lovely room, bathroom gorgeous and food brilliant. Breakfast was exceptional!

Everything was beautiful, location, facilities, decor, service, food. Exceptional hotel. We shall we returning.
Staff were friendly, food was great and the room was great too!

Excellent hotel, aesthetically pleasing throughout. The staff were very accommodating. The rooms were spacious and practical as well as maintaining that warm aesthetic, large screen TV with netflix, youtube etc. The biggest perk of the hotel was the breakfast menu which has so much to offer and is what really gives you value for your money on your stay.
We stumbled on the hotel by chance when we saw the sign on the road. Excellnt accomodation very friendly staff, well appointed decoration, food choice and preentation was exceptional. Great value for money with a wonderful breakfast included.
Great staff very attentive. The food was good. Comfortable Bed and overall decor was good.
Nothing negative but the ability to link to the electric charger was a struggle and the wifi was patchy in places
Rating: ★★★★★ We couldn't have picked a better place to spend the final night of our honeymoon. We stopped here on our drive home, and it turned out to be the absolute highlight of our trip. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how beautiful the entire property is. The "Edge" really lives up to its name with stunning surroundings, but the interior is just as impressive. The hotel is immaculate - spotlessly clean, modern, and incredibly comfortable. It felt like a true luxury retreat. The food at the Red Lion was, in a word, amazing. Every dish was perfectly prepared and full of flavor. It’s rare to find a hotel restaurant that stands so strongly on its own, but the quality here is top-tier. We are already planning our return visit. If you're looking for a getaway that combines rustic charm with high-end luxury, this is it!
All the staff were friendly and helpful. Christina was very welcoming and helped us with a room upgrade. The hotel was well designed and well kept with very comfortable facilities. The food quality in the restaurant was excellent. A repeat visit is extremely likely.
Easy to find and park. A friendly welcome. Lovely decor and large bedrooms. Atmospheric bar. Delicious food. My only negative comment is the lack of vegetarian options on the dinner menu and no 'bar food' menu - only a very high priced but delicious restaurant menu.
The room The hotel The grounds
Think the price of it and the alcohol prices wow Went to a wedding & was a expensive night
Second visit here. Just far enough away from home to enjoy an overnight stay in a lovely area, away from the hustle & bustle of home. Food was delicious & you would be hard pressed to find a better breakfast. All locally sourced meat veg. We stayed in the Haddon Suite. It was stunning, the bed was comfortable and there were complimentary bathrobes supplied The only thing i would say is if you are drinking in the bar, pay per round. There is a service charge if you add to your bill if staying overnight & keep a check on your drink quantities. We will definitely be staying again.
I have eaten at Peak Edge Hotel a number of times now, the food quality is fantastic and the staff are friendly and attentive. I always enjoy eating here.
Very friendly staff great food and so quiet and comfortable
This is a good hotel we have stayed at several times - Staff are v welcoming - and helpful particularly the night staff
Sat in the bar area for dinner and breakfast as we had a dog. Felt we were forgotten at dinner - and the hotel was not busy. The second night we ate in the main dining room as daughter had left with the dog and the service was better.
Everything: the room, the bar, the restaurant was spacious but comfortably so.
Room numbers are up high above the door. A bit out of the way, but you’ll have a car anyway.
Everything
Nothing
We stayed over after a wedding and we had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Beautiful bedrooms and lots of cosy and inviting public areas. Good food at the wedding buffet and the best hotel breakfast we’ve ever eaten. High quality and locally sourced produce cooked and served perfectly. Every staff member was friendly and knowledgeable. Nothing too much trouble. Our first visit but definitely not our last. Thanks to all ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wonderful hotel and fantastic restaurant, we booked at the very last minute and are so glad we did, everything was lovely, the parking is easy, lovely reception and rooms. The Red Lion is superbly decorated and very warm and homely and is dog friendly in the bar area. Will make and excuse to visit again very soon.
This was our second stay and it really is a beautiful hotel. The staff are all amazing, and the general vibe is calm and comfort. The food is amazing, not cheap but a real treat. And the rooms are big, beautifully decorated and very clean.
