Food was tasty. Great location, fab entertainment.
The Staff throughout the Hotel were so friendly and helpful. The Location is Wonderful. The Hotel was dog friendly ❤️🐶 Food was great 👍🏻😊
Sadly Our room was so small with hardly any room to move around, the view was of the back of the hotel. And with My partner being a 6ft 6inch Male the shower was completely unsuitable I’m only 5ft 4inch and struggled to move around in the shower 😔
Rooms were lovely staff were mostly very friendly and the breakfast was lovely
Great location on the water, with a semi-attached cliffside bar which was gorgeous.
The flooring was uneven in our room, the shower was tiny and overall the photos didn't quite seem to match the rooms we were provided.
It’s location
Room too small outdated
This is a 2* hotel and also grade 2 listed. It was much more towards a 3 star but the staff were absolutely 5 star class. Nothing was too much trouble and they catered for everyone. We went with the attitude - its a 2 star and it was definitely better then we expected. Good size rooms, breakfast Sunday - amazing - Saturday would have enjoyed some fruit but as I say 2 star. It was better then we expected. We were there for the Iron Man competition and this was the absolutely perfect spot. We asked for clean towels, delivered straight away and this meant our Newphew (who completed the race with a 10 hr 8 min time) could pop up to our room and have a shower and come back out to watch his friends finish their race. Prices in the bar, food were extremely reasonable and they allowed the factilities to be used by spectuators where others had security on the doors. Really really great experience and nothing could beat the location for this race or wanting to be able to overlook the sea
To be honest not much for the rate it has. The hash browns could have been not so overcooked and some fruit available for breakfast The shower was not perfect but we have stayed at 4* hotels where we have been really disappointed as we expected more. It would be lovely for the hotel to get a grant to redo all the windows as they did rattle a lot but as I say 2* but if there were two things to improve it would be those, in my opinion.
The best thing about this hotel is the beautiful sea view and the fact that the beach is just a few steps away, as the hotel is located right on the Esplanade. Overall, I would say it offers good value for money. It is not a new hotel, but for a one- or two-night stay, it has everything you need for a comfortable stay.
The breakfast and service could perhaps be improved a little, but overall we had a pleasant stay.
Location
Very tired
Great welcome by all staff
Nowhere to leave keys when leaving early.
All of it
Having to leave
Great location & super friendly staff
Nothing
Had an upgrade when we arrived not sure if it was because it was my birthday but it was a lovely gesture. Stayed in room 110 which had a massive comfortable bed , lovely decor and a lovely balcony opening door which overlooked the beautiful sea , had a lovely sleep listening to the waves crashing.Have stayed here several times before , the bar is lovely , cheap prices and lovely staff . Clarence House is one of our favourite hotels in Tenby .
Wi fi didn’t work on arrival but was quickly sorted with a new password at reception.
Location and value for money
All good
Good location for Tenby and Street parking available nearby.
I had breakfast the first morning, but it seemed a bit basic with no fruit or yoghurt available. The hotel can be noisy as it takes dogs . A dog in the room two doors down barked till 11:20 pm at night and started again at 6:20 am. Fortunately they went home later that day.
I initially booked a single room, but felt it was claustrophobic as it was soo tiny. Had to see a couple of other rooms before choosing to upgrade to a sea view double for an additional price and it was worth it. Wish the property would have noted that I was celebrating my 30th (as mentioned in my requests) but that was not acknowledged.
The fact that my request was not seen. At one point in the evening, there were some guests arguing just outside my room and they were very loud. Not the hotel’s fault but something to note on.
we had booked another hotel in Tenby but on arrival found it had been closed for over 12 months and we were fortunate to get the last room with you The outside garden was lovely so pretty and staff very nice and there was a singer and must say she was very good
room very small smallest room that ive ever stayed in
Love the clarence , staff so friendly , had fab room with amazing view .
Could maybe do with a small fridge .
Staff were very friendly + helpful
Our room was small we were up attic,
Comfortable stay, close to town centre and affordable. Perfect as a stopover for walking the coastal path or if you're on a budget
Room was small and dated.

Nothing
Staff were all very friendly and accommodating made life with the kids easy and not like we were being a pain! Breakfast wasn’t until nice and nothing was too mum trouble made sure we had everything we wanted
The family room we had was small and for and adult and two kids was not big enough luckily we had a baby and not two children running round but with the travel cot as well wasn’t much room to move. Breakfast wasn’t until 8 and with having the kids who are up early it was a long morning trying to occupy them.
Location and staff
The noise from upstairs children running round at 5am both mornings.smell of cannabis on the 1st night whilst walking across the corridor and again outside
Room clean & comfortable. Only stayed one night. Breakfast was great
The staff were amazing, I have 6 weeks ago lost my partner suddenly. Tenby was the last place we came together… I was rude to a member of staff ( my head all over the place) they could see I was struggling emotionally and they could not have been more kind and so lovely. I 100% recommend
Hotel, food ,view
Everything was excellent.
Location.
The room wasnt very clean, floor was uneven, bed side cabinets were leaning to the left, bed was sloping due to the floor. Bathroom sink leaking water all over floor. Window would not stay open unless propped with something.
Breakfast was brilliant and the berr garden and location
Rooms were very outdated tv didnt work shower pressure was poor
Location. The pub. Lively staff.
Very small room.
Food and staff.
Non paying guests taking tables away from paying residents.
Small room but a lovely sea view was a surprise at no extra cost for the single room. Great breakfast and very lovely staff indeed.
Quite dated bathroom but perfectly useable.
Loved the location, room was spacious with plenty of storage and staff were so friendly. Great entertainment
Breakfast was not included in price. Due to the age of my children I expected a bed each
Stayed many times here , staff always great , had a fabulous room with view .

Location
Very dated but pleasant enough
The locations was great, opposite the beach, safe for late night walks.
No parking, the free parking opposite can only accommodate 3 cars and is always full. The rest is reserved for residents. I was fine GBP70 for parking for 5 mins as I unloaded the bags. The signs are not very helpful. The awesome breakfast advertized is just full english everyday with no options of cereal, fruit or anything else. The breakfast was served after 8:30am as the restaurant was reserved for Group Bookings which this hotel seems to be a hotpot for. Even the bar and dinner service was pretty much catering to Group Bookings. The room was so disappointing. No wardrobe for a family room, the bathroom had no towel rack, the faucet in the shower was faulty, no charging points besides the bed, no space for an ironing stand.
Location is fantastic, had a sea view which was amazing. All the staff were so accommadating and so friendly. Food was stunning from breakfast to bar menus. Was very busy all day but place was immaculate at all times and plenty of staff at the bar who were so friendly always had time for a chat.
Breakfast was served til 10am same time as check out which was abit of a rush after such a lovely breakfast.
Location good, breakfast described as buffet which wasn't, not a problem
Location
Needs updating, door to bathroom didn’t fit frame so gaps either side, Roman blinds in poor state
Stunning location, car parks near by (chargable) but convenient, rooms were pleasant enough small but had what we needed for the stay.
The staff and location, lovely beer garden opposite the hotel
Amazing staff made us feel so welcome, especially Nicky, Thanks you so much we will be back soon
Beautiful sea view
Room was very small
The staff were friendly and helpfull. Fab room and location was brilliant, We also enjoyed the entertaiment in the night.
Can't think of anything that we were unhappy with.
The location was fabulous
Very poor quality room for the price, very small and decor very tired looking. Breakfast was OK, very rushed everything comes out at once!!
Fantastic position on the seafront, convenient for the town and the beach. Lovely beer garden to the rear. Breakfast was hot and lovely.
Bathroom facilities were very cramped (sink in the bedroom) and dated, really need updating to justify the price.
How close it is to the beach and have a good view.
Nothing to be honest it’s worth the money.
View and location
Drunk people waking us up multiple times. The swearing and noise scared my daughter. Thin walls could hear next door snoring all night. Awful lay out of room. Basin in bedroom and toilet in a tiny bath room.Very strange Grumpy lady at breakfast kept tutting every morning because we came down at 09.50 for breakfast when its on until 10am
Breakfast was lovely, plenty of it.
The balcony but needs updating. Steps up to it and a big lip so don't go on tipsy!
Tiniest 'sea view double' ever stayed at despite booking 8 months prior. Bathroom was cupboard sized and toilet was about 20 inches from the shower curtain. Selecting "cold' got you hot. Anyone sitting on the loo got wet feet if someone showering. Low water pressure on shower. Sink is in the bedroom, not bathroom. No room to pass each other. Hot room. You could put your foot on the toilet from the bed. View was outstanding from balcony. Turned over in bed and whacked arm on wood around the bed as enclosed tightly. Bar area was nice but won't be back.
Staff were amazing nothing too much trouble & a credit to the hotel, will be back very soon
Very clean, shower was great, close to the beach
The coffee at breakfast was very weak would have liked a choice of coffees
Location had beautiful views
Extended time for meals
Lovely staff very helpful nice and clean and breakfast was beautiful
Great location.
Small toilet. The facilities and the building in general is outdated.
Very friendly and reasonable bar prices
Being disabled was a loose handrail up the disabled ramp. Needs tightening
Fabulous location
We could hear people talking in the next room.
Location price off drinks good breakfast
Nothing
The hotel was lovely. We were going to go out however the entertainment put on in the hotel was excellent. A good range of drinks on the bar and all facilities were excellent
Nothing
Location
Room size, small window
Location not the room we wanted
The room
The garden and the staff. Food was good, pizza is amazing.
Paying guests couldn't get a seat in the hotel. My mother is elderly and can't walk far. I thought this location would have been ideal, a nice garden to the rear and a garden across the road. However non-paying guests could use the facilities and it became overrun. Luckily on Saturday myself and my brother decided to head back early from town as mum was slowly making her way back and we secured a table as we noticed it was filling up. Sunday my parents just sat in the lounge, couldn't get seated and eventually just went back to their room. My mum was really disappointed. On another note the rooms need serious upgrading. Taps which barely switch off (hope owners are not on a water meter), wash hand basin in the bedroom. Bi-fold doors for the toilet, really. Coffee tasted like dishwater, possibly cups need rinsing after washing.
Good breakfast, good location, lovely staff
A bit noisy
It was a very pleasant hotel well arranged and very professional staff
Everything was perfect, the location was excellent, I booked a sea view room and the view was amazing. Staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Would definitely recommend this hotel and can't wait to book again.
It was in a nice location.
Nothing, it was fine
Reception area
Tiny little bedroom
Location was great and staff are lovely
Hotel is a little dated but clean and comfortable
Very pleasant staff and hotel. Room was basic, but was very clean and was perfect for me. This was a last minute booking to meet up with friends. Breakfast was delicious and very reasonable. Entertainment/singer was amazing! Would definately go back there with my mother, as the hotel has ramp access/accessable rooms. Very pleased 😁
Nothing not to like really.
Location was fantastic
Dated and could do with being refurbished. Also would be nice to have a mini fridge available for longer stays.
Central to everything
Na
Staff are amazing nothing was too much trouble ..thank you for another wonderful stay
It was very clean and had everything you need for your stay. Location is amazing. Staff were nice enough.
The wall are so thin you can literally hear every little noise. The shower was a nightmare, either too hot or too cold -no in-between. The bathroom smelt really bad if you put the extractor fan on. The towels are tiny, don't go round an adult.
Lovely breakfast, comfy beds, beautiful view
Decorating a little dated
Breakfast was amazing, very quick service, when you are taken to your table .we love gardens, & water coming down the wall .food was lovely, too. & presentation on food was amazing. Over all Excellent experiences. Staffs were excellent. We would definitely come again.
Everything was lovely. Thank you.if we did have a problem, you sorted it out straight away .
Generally friendly, helpful staff. I loved the beer garden & that there was a bar in the beach front.
Walls were very thin & could here every conversation of people in the corridor passing by our room. The main door had a huge gap under it that we used one of the towels to stuff under the door & prevent light from the corridor coming in. Bath towels were very small. The double room was very small with very little room for 2 of is to move around in. Beds and pillows were extremely soft.
Excellent location
Very old fashioned with cramped room and no air conditioning. Bathroom was basically a cupboard and the shower was poor
View amazing couldn't have asked for more friendly staff great location
Carpet in the room was very dirty needs replacing and bar area could do with an updated decor
The staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly. My room had a fantastic sea view. My room was spotless, bed very comfortable, the room had everything I needed. Breakfast was very tasty. Excellent all round and very happy with my stay.
The hotel did not have a car park and I had to use the multi storey car park which was a little walk away from the hotel carrying all of the bags. This is my only criticism.
Very good
Location.near beach and shops.
Some dodgy beers.failing sunshine...
A gem of a property. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Location exceptional on the sea front in magical Tenby. Only minutes from the castle and view of the island fort Easy 10 min walk to train along the old town walls. Room super clean with very comfortable bed and linens. A special thank you to the young man on evening reception. Very highly recommend
Staff was so friendly
Dog friendly
Not far for the beach and town breakfast was good
Great location..great staff. Lovely beer garden entertainment at hotel. Clean comfortable
Poor shower hardly any water
Good location, very friendly and helpful staff
Bathroom in the single room very small
Both my son and I are very sensitive to noise. We have travelled a lot, and air conditioning and bad windows that let noise through are our biggest enemies. I personally also hate it when windows are not allowed to be opened. The Clarence Hotel was quiet enough to sleep in. Well, almost... (see the “what we didn’t like” part). Breakfast was very nice. There was also nice entertainment in the evening — live music, which stopped before sleeping hours. We enjoyed spending time in the lounge before our departure, and we also used the luggage storage facility, which was free, safe and easy to access. The most memorable thing was the view from our room. My son spent an hour sitting and looking at the water and the moon. It was beautiful. Overall, we were very happy with our stay. It was not expensive and definitely exceeded our expectations. And yes, it was very clean for English standards! No mould, no smells, no stains... more like German standards of cleanliness, except perhaps for the windows from the outside. That was a pleasant surprise too.
I wish the hotel would invest a little more money in soundproofing between the rooms. It was quite upsetting because there was no air-conditioning noise, the windows did an excellent job of keeping out the noise from the road, seagulls and waves, and even the lift was very quiet. Everything was perfect until our neighbour started snoring — and unfortunately, we could hear it through the wall! It rather spoiled the otherwise perfect picture. Please consider improving the soundproofing between the rooms. We really want to come back and stay with you again. Amazon and Temu sell relatively inexpensive soundproofing wall panels, so perhaps something like this could help. Then you could almost guarantee a good night's sleep even when the person in the next room happens to be a loud snorer! We would still choose your hotel again, because this is a minor issue compared with all the other noise problems we have experienced in hotels. But please improve this one thing and make an already lovely hotel almost perfect.
The location amazing, room clean and comftorble
The staff was amazing! All of them! Very welcoming and helpful! Always full of smiles, great location and the best breakfast I’ve ever had!
The single room was very very small! Bearable for a few days but would upgrade any longer! Small bathroom!
Been back twice now recommend to everyone tryef to book again for end of August but sold out
The location
It was a bit tired
Good location to South bech. Good beer garden over looking the sea
The location, the sea view was amazing.
9am breakfast, it was late for me but it was beautiful.
Location is perfect! Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty, much enjoyed. Entertainment and bar service was above our expectations.
Ottima posizione, vicino al centro e direttamente sul mare. Comodi i due parcheggi vicini (a pagamento). Lo staff è cordiale. Great location, close to the town center and right on the seafront. The two nearby parking lots (paid) were convenient. The staff is friendly.
La camera era molto piccola, il bagno vecchio, non era possibile aprire la finestra e non c’era la ventilazione. La camera non era pulita. Il corridoio per raggiungere la camera era stretto e prevedeva delle scale, scomodo con passeggino e valigie. The room was very small, the bathroom was old, it wasn't possible to open the window, and there was no ventilation. The room was not clean. The hallway to reach the room was narrow and had stairs, which was inconvenient with a stroller and luggage.
Small room at good price (as advertised), but very clean and comfortable. Good location on the seafront, and to my surprise a sea view from the window.
Main wifi wasn't working, so receptionist gave me another network to use, but this was very patchy in my room (better if I stood by the door). Otherwise, no complaints
The hotel is in an excellent location , on the seafront and a short walk from the railway station. I had booked a budget room with breakfast which was excellent value for money. The room was basic / small but that was how it had been advertised so no issue there. Staff were very helpful, especially the team serving breakfast which was very good and offered lots of variety. The hotel is not luxurious but is perfectly adequate and to my mind certainly one to consider if looking at a stay in Tenby.
It was all pretty good and given the very reasonable cost not anything that I would pick out as a problem..
The view , close to everything
The room was cosy !! The en-suite was the real disappointment. We were at the top of the stairs , quite loud.
Room was next to lift so not far to walk to reach room. Comfy bed to lie down. Staff were very helpful ranging from reception staff to the gentleman working late Thursday evening (night porter) he gave us some teabags and milk for us to have a cuppa as we had used the teabags provided in our room earlier in the day, so kind of him. Shower was lovely too. Wardrobe was great too with plenty of hangers provided.
Room was too hot however one of the receptionist did provide us with a fan but it was still too warm. One of the keys provided on the fob didn't work for some reason. One of the pillows was far too hard so uncomfortable to sleep on. There was something under my quilt as i was about to go to sleep, was like a sharp piece of plastic unsure where it had come from. We had a standard room, with a small window however when opened widely to try to get some cool air into the room a seagull nearly flew in so we couldn't open it wide due to this.
Very well placed : near beaches and the city
Rooms on the back might be noisy due to people staying late on the terrasse (it was very hot when we came and slept windows open and some people stayed lond in the backyard) but this is probably rare
