La tranquilidad que había
En los 4 dias y 3 noches que estuvimos, en ningún día nos vinieron a limpiar la habitación. Tampoco funcionaba demasiado bien el wifi.
Very calm location, if you’re younger it does get boring no music! But you do have Marco he does the entertainment his amazing makes the experience so much better!! Rooms are nice, food was good but tend to have the same foods each day! Bar closes early too but 1 thing overall all the staff are amazing made everything easy and peaceful ❤️
There isn’t much to do in Costa Calma so if you want to go to de-stress and chill this is the place to be. This hotel was perfect had everything you need and the staff are super friendly, the food was good too lots of variety. Three very clean pools and hotel spotless. There were lots of solo travellers and the hotel felt very safe. Beautiful beech and nightlife 20 minutes walk away. Feeling very re-charged now - thank you for a lovely stay.
This place isn't everyone's cup of tea and wasn't ours, the room was large and spacious as a positive and staff are brilliant, but needs updating properly as they have just painted over the cracks to update this hotel and is showing already, this hotel charges extra for use of a safe and kettle and the indoor spa and no shaver socket? 4 star? Just two single beds pushed together which both needed a new mattress really, and extra covers in wardrobe you wouldn't want to touch let alone sleep in , the walls are paper thin (better hope you don't get a noisy neighbour) can hear full conversations and toilet activities. air con didn't work, bathroom stunk of sewage every morning, but did have a powerful shower that was nice, room wasn't the cleanest we found dirty underwear and socks left from a previous guest which was a lovely welcome. Pool area is nice and probably the only area of hotel they try to keep clean, rest is cigarette nubs and dust balls main areas just arnt cleaned very well. 60 percent of sun loungers need a good clean, hard to find one you don't feel gammy on. Food.. nice selection if your not a vegetarian, cheeses and desserts become sameish. It's luke warm and left out from hours though, the snack bar is just left over lunch and some dinner is clearly lunch redressed as a different item. Not the worst place in the world but definitely won't be coming back.
I booked this holiday four days before I went so was slightly concerned when I got around to reading the reviews on this site. My main concerns were reports of it being unsafe for solo females, poor food choices and being a long distance from the beach, I can confirm that I found none of the above during my week there. For a three star hotel I found the food to be good, at breakfast there was lots of fresh fruit, yoghurts, pastries, usual continental as well as all the hot food - there was delicious back bacon served daily. At lunch and dinner there were always plenty of options including fresh salad, breads, grilled meats and fish, chips, various potato dishes and vegetable dishes and pasta along with the various other dishes they’d cooked that day. I dined at varying times and never found the food not warm enough or dried up, it was frequently replenished. The drinks are self service in the restaurant which I prefer and the all inclusive at the other bars is from 11am until 11pm which is fairly standard across all inclusive hotels I’ve found so don’t worry about the reviews stating that there are additional charges for drinks. The additional charges are for premium branded drinks plus if you want to order drinks after 11pm. If you’re a cava lover like me you’ll be content whilst there, I also enjoyed the white and rose wine which was dry. The gym was fairly basic with cardio equipment and dumbbells but served its purpose. The spa was relaxing and cost £15 for two hours however if you travel with Jet2 your first visit is free. Pool towels are provided and can be changed as often as you require. The pool area doesn’t open until 10am and no one reserves sun beds so you can come and go as you please throughout the day. I chose not to socialise with others and was not hassled by anyone and felt very safe, however if you want to mix with others it’s the perfect hotel to do so. The evening entertainment was ok, the two singers I saw were good and I was fortunate enough to be there a week when all the singers on karaoke night were really good. I gave bingo and the other animation guy led nights a miss. The hotel was clean with friendly, approachable staff. The week I was there the hotel guests were predominantly British which isn’t my preference, however I know some people like this. The hotel is on a hill however it is not as steep as I was expecting after reading previous reviews. The route I took to the beach was exactly one mile and took less than twenty minutes to get there. I walked the length of the beach and back several times, it was picturesque with lots of toilets and several bars on it. The local market on Sunday and Wednesday was big and less than fifteen minutes walk from the hotel (it’s on route to the beach) I recommend having a Chinese massage there, it was well worth the wait and sorted out my knotted shoulder blades. Don’t be put off by negative reviews, it is a three star hotel and advertised as being in a quiet location. If you want lots of choice of restaurants and bars then this hotel is not for you.
The hotel was very good food was excellent plenty of choices was very clean and staff were friendly the down side was there was very little to do and poor evening entertainment . Overall it was good value for money
Bit far from the sea. Facilites ok, nice spacy room but very vague instructions given how to get there, had to go back to the reception to ask again. Food looks, and that is the key word - LOOKS -good but in fact everything is cold. All the food served here is 'pocket' warm which doesn't meet the regulatury standards. Even though bought all inclusive, I will refuse to eat here!
Nice clean and pleasant hotel. Opted for all inclusive and was not disappointed, good choice of foods and drinks for the duration of our stay. The staff were nice and friendly. Our room had a lovely balcony with good views and comfy beds. We regularly used the gym, although there were free weights, running machines and bikes there weren't actual weight machines. The area itself, Costa Carma is very quiet with not much going on, you would be disappointed if you wanted a lively place with shops, bars and restaurants. Being all inclusive was beneficial. Would definitely stay again at the hotel if we were to return to Costa Carma
Not fully all inclusive as advertised. After a certain time, you have to pay for drinks so it’s semi inclusive. Booked as a 4 star, subsequently hotel has been downgraded to 3. Rooms are ok but the walls are paper thin. You can hear other rooms flushing their toilet and showering. The food is very poor. Minimal selection and the temperature is tepid at best. Bar is not good either. When the bar is closed, you have to walk up 2 flights of stairs with your drinks from the snack bar. The only good thing about this place is that the staff are friendly and that’s about it. Safe in room and AC doesn’t work. We’ve eaten out as the food is that bad, not what you want if you’re ’’all incisive’. Don’t book here, book a proper all inclusive hotel.
Marco is a brilliant friendly person, encourages all guests to get involved in all activities Works very hard and long hours
This was my first stay at an all-inclusive hotel, lovely hotel, had a twin room which was clean with its own patio area and private sunbeds. Food was buffet-style eat as much as you wanted, good quality and free-flowing beer and wine until 11pm with good nightly entertainment. Staff were great hosts too, and the room was cleaned daily. However after 11pm the entertainment and the free bar ended and there was little else to do as there were no bars or clubs nearby, and the town centre of Costa Calma was half an hour walk away. Nearest beach was 18 minutes walk away and well worth a visit. Very quiet at the hotel, but I found it a bit too quiet. Nonetheless it was definitely good value for money, and for the last week of February the weather was fantastic except for one day when it was showery.
Marco, Rose and everyone in the reception really made us feel welcomed and did everything to make our stay as pleasant as possible, Marco recommended for us to come back for more karaoke which was one of the best parts of the holiday, 10/10 will definitely be coming back!
Just had a week at hotel room was fine very large bathroom think it was for disabled users had rails over toilet and shower chair. Bed was comfy but pillows were soft as anything so we asked for more which was no issue. Tv channels only bbc world news awful to watch repeatedly all day long no other English channels lucky we have a hard drive with films on which connect to tv and there was music radio channel’s to listen to. We did the spa twice in the week the weather was not good windy and cloudy with spots of rain so the spa was awesome nice indoor pool and facilities this cost 15 euros each for 2 hours. The hotel is 20 mins to beach downhill there isn’t much in Costa Calma except long beach. Food was good we had no issues could have had more options for vegetarians but we managed every meal time to find something. Lovely staff that we encountered had a lovely week let down buy the weather.
I just need to get away to relax somewhere in the sun and read books as I am 76 but still working and booked this a year ago. Adults only and quite small so you get to know plenty of people because you meet them in all areas of the resort. Very clean and although staff seems to be minimum they work SO hard and seem to do double shifts. The Deep pool--there are 3--was fantastic for my needs --salt water. The gym needed a few maintenance issues being resolved but reclining cycle could still be used. Food was hit and miss in some areas and if the management read this -I would take the Lamb chops off the menu as totally inedible and tough--BUT the pork leg with the best crackling I have ever had was amazing. There is BACK BACON every morning -fantastic. NO HONEY though! There is something for everyone and very, very clean . The machines for your morning drinks cause a que at times but still no problem. I did have a problem with the very hard mattresses which caused my hips to become really painful and sleep was not good--but as i was leaving I mentioned this at reception and said I would come again but for the mattresses--I was told that they could have been changed--WHY OH WHY --did I not mention at the start of my 2 weeks!! There is a spa but 10 euros a time. If the management read this I would offer a set of ten visits for 50 euros --as it was always empty and I would have loved to have had the opportunity to have spent some time there but 10 euros a visit was just too much to pay, but I would have been willing to have had a pass for 50 euros. There was a nudist roof-but never visited as a 76 year old woman--not a pretty site but if I had had a partner I would have given it a go! Entertainment was dire--day and evening --but broadband excellent so I watched Netflix on my computer most nights. The bedrooms very clean and they have amazing strong, hot showers. All in all for a very small good hotel at very reasonable all inclusive prices you could not do better--just ask for different mattresses if needed. Long way to walk to sea front but no problem for me as I stay in resort. Manager VERY hands on and friendly--and SO----I HAVE BOOKED AGAIN FOR NEXT JANUARY--knowing the mattress problem can be resolved. I have to mention the hotels cat Simba--he is really a lovely pussy ,clean and friendly--miss him. Pool towels in room can be exchanged during your stay at reception, where staff were again amazing.
First ever holiday Really enjoyed the 5 days I spent here, staff were very friendly, food was okay, drinks were lovely, entertainment was the best part, Marco is very good he loves to keep the crowd entertained from morning to night
It my first time here . I’m really enjoying the atmosphere and the hospitality that comes with it . Marco was so helpful in making my stay extra comfortable. I definitely would recommend coming to here with your partner
Had an enjoyable stay here, meeting some lovely fellow Brits as well. From check in (Davide) was extremely helpful and friendly, as were all staff encountered, until check out. The hotel cleanliness was fine, room’s cleaned daily. The room comfortable with a fridge, safe and good Wi-Fi. Food generally was pretty good, at breakfast, lunch and evening meal so no complaints. Plenty of choice! People used the outdoor pools and were happy in doing so. I didn’t but was slightly disappointed the indoor pool carries a charge because it’s also a spar. Bar service was generally good, the odd queue occasionally in the evening bar, but never really encountered too long a wait. Would I return? Possibly. Only because the hotel is very remote and not many other bars immediately near should you fancy a drink out. The hotel, facilities and staff though were fine.
Don’t believe the negative reviews. The hotel is clean, comfortable and, most of all, welcoming. The food is good with plenty of choice, even if the restaurant has a canteen feel but this is a three star hotel. The hotel is in a quiet location at the back of Costa Calma. It’s about a 1/2 hour walk to the beach, but I didn’t go. I stayed for 5 days for a ‘drop and flop’ holiday. The hotel is perfect for such a break. Plenty of sun beds round the three pools. Only one of the smaller pools is heated but I like swimming in cooler water so it suited me and the biggest of the pools was lovely. I had a clean and comfortable room at the back of the hotel. I hired the safe in my room for my stay. Whilst I had no view, it was very quiet. Some had ground floor rooms with sun beds and should I return (which is very likely) I would request one of those. The spa is good and an unexpected bonus. The staff were unfailingly helpful, the manager much in evidence checking everything was up to standard. As a single woman I felt perfectly safe in this hotel. I enjoyed the food and came back home relaxed.
It's was great time in the hotel. Marco, Javi, employees in the hotel It's was nice to meet them. I spent very good time.
Amazing holiday I would 100% recommend going here, we took my disabled mother and they were more than helpful with every aspect, the staff were great especially Marco, Javi, Rachin, Salami, Alberto, Rossi.we will definitely be returning here for another holiday.
Absolutely brilliant hotel love the amazing entertainment by the Funny Marco every day he brought smiles to plenty of faces. The hotel is very clean and all the staff are lovely.Rachid Rosa and Seleema. The manager is always around to take care of customers needs.I have stayed here for 5 weeks and enjoyed every moment Thankyou hotel KN Matas blancas.
I would 100% recommend this hotel! We have just spent 4 days at this hotel and I can not understand why there is any negative reviews! I have stayed in a lot of all inclusive abroad but I feel as though a lot of the reviews that I was reading prior to arrival are unfair. The hotel is very relaxed and clean. I am quite fussy with food , but the meat was so good! There was a wide selection available and lots of variation every day. The all inclusive drinks are great including a range of cocktails, coffees and soft drinks! The room was cleaned every day. The pool area is very clean and plenty of sunbeds, 3 large pools, one of which is heated and really pleasant to swim in even at this time of year! Like every hotel there is room for improvement but only minor. We would have liked a kettle with a selection of tea and coffee and a bottle of water at least in the fridge with in the bedroom. Also would have liked the terrace bar to open earlier as this didn’t open until 6pm and we like to have a drink prior to getting ready for our dinner. Leila at reception was great and really friendly. Bar and caters staff also very quick and friendly.
My husband and I stayed at this hotel from the 7th to the 14th of January, this was our second visit, but never again! The hotel was okay but the holiday was ruined by a group of very rowdy drunken guests. Shouting, screaming, Playing Loud music day and night. The food wasn’t too bad a bit hit and miss but it was nearly always cold. My husband lost two rings, a wedding and Claddagh ring on the day of our departure , he realised he left them in the drawer next to the bed in our room, we contacted the hotel but they said they were not there, we are devastated, those rings meant so much 😢
I can’t understand bad reviews. I agree hotel is isolated (hence not 5 stars) as nearest bar (Tonys) about 10 min walk We went with Jet2 who give 3 stars - if you want 5 star pay for it. The hotel itself has lots of facilities, including heated swimming pools. Our room was spotless as was bed linen and towels. Marco who was Animation did a really good job especially as he was on his own. We chose to keep to ourselves but everyone was friendly. We got a taxi twice to Furrte Sports bar (approx 5 to 6 euros) as too far for me to walk but many did walk. Food choice good as we had fish, beef, chicken, pork loin, vesl, lamb etc with different veg. Salad bar well stocked, paella, pizza, pasta Only downside red wine freezing cold but thats personal. Reception staff need a mention too as they were so helpful
Very welcoming staff marco very good comedian and entertainment rooms were okay. Cleaners only seem to make the beds food is average very standard menu. Spa has very good facilities
So this is my 4th visit here, when I last came in September the hotel had gone downhill in cleanliness and pool comfort (rooms were always clean) However I am happy to report that this has improved again, the pool/solarium area is cleaned regularly (the pool itself always was) but the sunbathing part was dirty. This has a big team out with sunbeds stacked and area mopped. My room was always cleaned and my cleaner left little gifts which was so nice of her, nearly all staff are friendly and helpful. Thankfully the music played around the pool has stopped, although having music can be good, not everyone has the same taste, so if it's a genre you don't like you are stuck having to listen to it. A few times the cocktail I liked ran out of ingredients so couldn't have it, although they had them at the other bar they couldn't go and get stock from one of those, so a little improvement on that please. Food wise, I enjoy the food, some is still a little on the cold side but I make use of the microwave. There is a good variety and I always find something to eat. You would have to be extremely picky to not find something. The snack bar has improved greatly too, with what's on offer through the day should you want something, but breakfast and lunch is plenty. Being a Brit you will be pleased to hear that proper bacon and sausage is now available, along with other types. It is a quiet hotel and the resort itself has a few bars and restaurants, but it is a good 30mins walk from the hotel or about 5e in a taxi. There is a well stocked little shop on the ground floor (1st) and a small mini market walking on the left of the hotel, and another one on the left of the hotel and down the hill. Other than those there are plenty of big spas in the town. There are some good trips on offer, I have done 3 different boat trips and a jeep safari, all of which were good and worth it. It's is a quiet place, QUIET, it's not Gran Canaria or Tenerife, some of us like quiet and make our own entertainment. It's great for solo travellers too, safe and friendly environment. If you want a party, lively place then go somewhere that offers that, don't come here and expect it, demand it or moan, it's up to you to do your research (which going by some reviews they clearly haven't) To sum up, it's nice, it's quiet, it's friendly, has a comfortable atmosphere, not for those who want bars bars bars but plenty around if you want the best of both.
Just spent two weeks there on my own. Thoroughly enjoyed my holiday and found the hotel better than my expectations having read previous reviews. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The food was acceptable - for a low budget all inclusive hotel I always found something to eat. The best thing was that a quarter of all guests were on their own so I didn’t feel like Jonny-no-mates eating alone. As a naturist I loved the naturist rooftop area, though it’s not well publicised ( accessed by external stairs next to room 368) however it’s a very long way from the bar so take everything up with you! The spa area is very nice but always deserted. I’m sure it is the 15 euro charge that puts people off. It’s worth noting that there is also a dedicated naturist sauna down there. It was interesting see that the hotel shop is chocca block with things which would appeal to children - why, given it’s an adult only hotel? There are two mini markets within five minutes walk if you want cheaper water or milk, both with very friendly staff. As others have said, the main centre is very poor and a long walk away. However it is possible to hire a Bird Scooter which I did several times. There’s a rank of them at the bottom of the hill (turn left out of the hotel, 3 minutes walk). I used these to get to the far ends of the resort where there are designated parking places from where I walked along the coast. On several occasions I took the bus to Morro Jable. The bus stop is a 15 minute walk downhill from the hotel. It gets very busy so it’s not always possible to get the first one, but they run every half hour. Morro Jable has all the things you expect from a major resort - designer shops etc, and a wonderful beach around a lighthouse. To summarise, there is nothing wrong with the hotel. It suited me as a single traveller and the quiet location didn’t bother me. It wouldn’t suit people staying in a bed and breakfast basis as there’s nowhere locally for dinner.
Total isolation, nothing outside the hotel no supermarkets, sports bars, zero, if you wish to watch your favorite football team forget, all you have is people drinking all day and at night then listen all morning to the intimacy screaming in the early ours, the worst holiday i have ever had in my life.
This is a great place for singles, couples and groups. Being adults only there is a general acceptance of being able to chat to others you dont know. This was my second time there and I loved it. Staff were, as always friendly (big shout out to Melany, Salamio and of course Marco, the entertainment guy. There are squash courts, table tennis, basketball, sauna and spa, swimming pools , pool tables within the hotel area Drinks are plentiful. There are plenty of choices for food - always fresh cooked meat (the steaks were brilliant) including fresh meats and fish. There is always plenty of freshly baked bread, fresh fruit and salad. As mentioned elsewhere the service at the bars could sometimes be faster, but then if clients took their empty glasses back then the bar staff would not need to stop serving to collect and wash them Rooms were clean and pleasant and could be cleaned every day if you wish Whilst there we had a lots of conversations about music beside the pool. I think it could do with some background music as white noise to stop conversations being overheard (or the sound of me puffing and panting whilst swimming) Thanks again to Marco - I had never had the courage to do Karaoke before , (and apologies if I took over somewhat). Even more apologies to Tom O'Dell and those that had to endure me singing it - I have totally ruined it for them things to do outside Market on wednesday and sunday morning hire a bike from bike shops nearby - there are loads of gravel paths so an e-bike is a blast here water sports both north and south of the time electric scooters for hire

Ignore the negative reviews After initially reading the reviews before my travel I was starting to regret booking the hotel however the hotel was lovely, welcoming and clean, all staff was great ! I admit with hotel you get what you pay for if your wanting a top draw hotel then you have to pay for it, for the cost of this hotel it’s worth every penny. Pools- 2 outdoor pools are freezing however 1 is heated and bearable for a cool off. Plenty of sun loungers no early get ups. Food- very repetitive and not the warmest but it’s not bad or a negative by a long stretch, breakfast is great ! Entertainment- evening entertainment every night which is of decent standard run by the same guy who does the day time activities, if anything I have to say he focuses more on the older clientele, the whole holiday he didn’t approach me or my wife (we are in our early 30’s) to participate in any activities but instead goes over to older guests to chat away and see if they wish to join in. Conclusion Fantastic value for money Clean Okay food and drink Entertainment okay Relaxing break Would I return ? Yes for a short break 4-7 nights max due to the food being repetitive
We stayed at this hotel with a group of friends to celebrate my best friend’s 40th birthday, and honestly, we couldn’t have chosen a better place. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, I truly felt looked after and valued as a guest. The staff across the entire hotel were exceptional, from the restaurant team to reception and the bar staff. Everyone was friendly, professional, and genuinely committed to making sure we enjoyed every moment of our stay. Their positive attitude really made a difference and created such a welcoming atmosphere. A special mention goes to Marco from the entertainment team. He was absolutely amazing! He has a rare talent for engaging with guests in a natural and respectful way, making everyone feel included without ever being overwhelming. He added so much fun and energy to our experience. The spa facilities were also outstanding: high quality, relaxing, and a real highlight of our stay. It was such a pleasure to spend time there and unwind. This hotel made our celebration truly memorable, and I will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended! Couldn’t Have Chosen a Better Place!
After reading the negative reviews of this Hotel I was obviously anxious about my stay as a Solo traveller for the first time. Everywhere was great…Reception staff were extremely welcoming and I was immediately put at ease. My room was lovely..Clean and comfortable. This particular Hotel IS a good walk away from the small Costa Calma local centre but it’s a lovely walk to the Beach if you’re mobility is good…A taxi back up the hill is €10 if you include your tip. I would return as I felt safe there & met some lovely people 🫶🏻
So our experience was - fabulous. Hotel occupancy was off season levels so not crowded. Rooms clean and airy -we had a balcony view. Rooms were cleaned daily. Everything worked. Kettle hired from reception. Staff very friendly and helpful. 3 pools - one a decent size the others fine. Not heated though but swimmable end of January. Pool area was well maintained and spotless. We had no issues with loungers or overcrowding. There is evening entertainment if that's what you like. It will be basic - but not our thing so can't comment. Spa area you pay extra for even if you are all inclusive. The drinks in all inclusive were fine - you are not going to get top end drinks on all inc so don't expect. But prosecco, gin, wine and lager all fine. Cocktails provided. 3 bars so drinks available almost all day. Food - reading the reviews we were expecting the worst. It was very good. Loads available really well cooked loads of choice even for one of our party who is vegetarian. We gave the food 8/10. Little shop is there if you need to buy a chocolate bar. The negatives. Hotel is not near the beach. Its a good 25 min walk to the main beach. There are NO shuttle buses. But taxis came at 5 mins notice and were very cheap - around 5 euros per trip. The main commercial centre is the other side of the the town - would be a a 30-40 min walk. It not worth visiting except it has a Spar, couple of restaurants and decent coffee - a lifeline. Because by far the worst thing at the hotel was the coffee. Why hotels put these awful powder machines in this day and age is beyond me. Absolutely vile. Take your own. Costa Calma is great if you don't want night life - want a fabulous beach, want to do water sports or swimming and have a chilled experience. Do you research before you book. It suited us perfectly. Overall the hotel is probably 3.5 stars - the coffee drags it down. if you get it at a decent rate, accept that its a bit inland with not much round it then you will be fine.
Great hotel staff friendly and helpful.food was good not cold as previously suggested bit outside the centre but easily reached on foot. Basically a great hotel for the price.
3rd and last time there, to many idiots (brits)drinking to much and the way they where towards women was well horrible, Food was ok, staff selling drugs behind the bar not my thing, if you're into getting totally smashed this is the place for you.
Loved this hotel, it ticked all the boxes for me. Decent value all inclusive winter sun holiday. When i arrived i was stunned what a little gem this place is and how the staff make you feel welcome here Big shout to Marco, rasheed and the rest of the team for making this stay so enjoyable, as a solo traveller they made me feel welcome adn can't thank you guys enough, please let simba know il miss him 🐈
First impressions of this hotel are good. But there are some areas I could find fault with. The bedrooms have been partly upgraded, with a walk-in shower, but the sink is original as are the blue floor files throughout. That said, there were serviced daily, with fresh white towels and the sheets changed again mid-week. They did let our shampoo shower gel dispenser run out by the sink. Thankfully, there was enough in the dispenser in the shower to use, but that was getting very low too. Plentiful supply of toilet rolls (unlike their sister KN Arenas del Mar in Tenerife where you had to beg for one!). Plenty of places to sit in reception, where the evening bar is - but the seats are faux leather and some had split, so looked unsightly - there is also loads of seating on the floor below reception, but I never saw anyone sitting there. Communal area cleaning could be better. The corridor to our room had a sticky floor, from people taking drinks back to their rooms presumably. It genuinely wasn't cleaned all week. Yet I saw the floor buffer machine used elsewhere. Special shout out to Riso who worked in the snack bar and restaurant. Such a welcoming, friendly lady. A true ambassador for the hotel. Bryan on reception was equally excellent in explaining everything when we checked in. The restaurant for lunch and dinner always had a lovely selection of salad, plenty of cheese, soup, pasta and sauce. But the hot selection generally wasn't hot (there is a microwave) and items that didn't go with anything else. Stir fry and meats were over salted. That said, you won't starve ... if management are reading this, please ensure that there is sufficient bread selection (the brown seeded baguette often ran out), top up the cake as that can run down to virtually nothing and please open both (not just one) coffee machines every breakfast, as the queue by the buffet can be a mile long. Oh, and please put some milk in the machine so your cafe con leche doesn;t come out black .... one massive bonus though is there is proper British back bacon every breakfast! The snack bar operates a 1 Euro plastic cup policy. Not a problem, but if you are sitting in that area or the glass sided terrace you can have a proper glass. Personally, I would avoid the snacks in there. Out for hours, curled up and goodness knows how hygenic it is to eat. Marco is the Animation guy. Been in the job 3 weeks although it doesn't show. A group of us walked down to the market and the beach with him. He manages the entertainment around the pool and also the evening entertainment. Nice man. Costa Calma really is quiet. The first couple of days we thought it was too quiet, then as we explored, we gradually found life. But the hotel is definitely situated at the wrong end of the resort. There is more life at the far end of the beach, with a couple of Spar and Hiper Dino supermarkets, bars, restaurants and shops. Mocasas is a Chinese owned shop about 10 minutes walk from the hotel. It sells everything and anything. Worth a look. Turn left out of reception, then take the first left down the hill. Follow that road until you see a brown run down mini market on the left, continue on that road until the t-junction. Turn right and at the next junction there is a small shopping complex on the right. It's in there. Instead of turning right to Mocasas, turn left up to the roundabout. There is a market on the other side of the road on a Wednesday and Sunday. If you follow that tree lined avenue all the way up to the top, it's nicer than the parallel road. At the top, turn left and cross the road following it up until you can turn left. That will take you down to the far end of the beach. There are public toilets there. All in all we had a good week. If the price is right, we might go back. The hotel is perfectly ok, but the location is definitely not the best.
I would describe the hotel as 3 stars not 4 stars. The hotel itself is clean, rooms lovely and spacious with a nice pool area and spa. The area is very quiet with not a lot around but perfect for a relaxing break. The food is awful. We were all inclusive. Breakfast was the best meal of the day, but everything was bland and lukewarm. I am a fussy eater but my friend who isn’t agreed that the food was below par. The drinks were okay, a few cocktails on the inclusive were a bonus. The only downside to the spa which we used multiple times was you had to pay €15 for 2 hours use. Even when we booked a massage for €60 it was expected we pay an extra €15 to use the facilities. Otherwise it was a lovely relaxing spa and the massage was lovely. Overall I did enjoy the stay however it was average and not sure I would rush back.
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER- NOT WORTH A 2 STAR LET ALONE 4 STAR 100 words is by no way enough to warn people about the false advertising of topclass Junior Suites..Room 122 - a joke .. no windows in the bedroom . Torn sofa - manky sun loungers. Cold food and the bars are joke - paper cups or tumblers!
Nice title hotel… great pool area. Our room was clean and well equipped. Lovely, helpful staff
We have just returned from a 10 day Christmas break. Reception on arrival was very good, we were warmly welcomed, given our key cads and told where our room was. Our rooms were basic, but clean. There is no coffee/tea making facilities in the room. No bath, just a shower and shower gel is provided if you don't want to take your own. The rooms were cleaned daily and we were given fresh towels when needed. It was quite cold on the second night, but I found a blanket in the wardrobe, which unfortunately looked and smelled like it had been there for years. The restaurant looks like an old school canteen and where do I start with the food!!! Bland, overcooked or under cooked and at the most, luke warm - a microwave is provided to reheat the food, which we did for every meal. One morning, my hash browns were actually frozen in the middle! - The toaster broke down several times and one morning my bread got stuck inside, so I spoke to the chef at the counter - it nearly caught fire by the time he came and his personal hygiene was so bad, I had to step away! All of the staff in the restaurant, with the exception of one of the chefs, (who's photo is in another review), were really polite and helpful. The chef mentioned never smiled and made you feel like it was an effort to cook an omelet, which I only had once, because even that was undercooked! One day, my husband said to him 'how about a smile' and he slapped a pork chop that he'd just cooked for him so hard on the plate, that he nearly dropped it! The coffee machine near reception is turned off during the day, so you have to go down to the snack bar if you want a hot drink - when I asked the receptionist why, I was told it was to stop the 'All Inclusive' guests from abusing it! An effort was made on Christmas day evening - we were greeted at the door to the restaurant and given a glass of prosecco. The tables had cloths on, along with a bottle of wine. The snacks are even worse than the main meals. On our first morning at the pool, I collected rubbish from the floor where we wanted to sit and stacked it neatly on a nearby table, where it sat for five days. Ashtrays are not provided for smokers, so stubs were either put on the floor or put into paper cups, which got blown over onto the floors. The floors in hotel/restaurant could do with a good clean; there were clumps of hair blowing around outside our room for days and the guy using the floor washing machine just pushes it up and down the middle of the floors, creating a dirty swirling pattern in the middle. The entertainment was virtually non existent and the guy at the bar raised his eyes and shook his head when I asked for my cocktail in a wine glass instead of a large tumbler! The cocktails all tasted the same, so I gave up on them after the first night. You can only get a hot drink in the restaurant with breakfast, because the machines are switched off at lunchtime and the evening. On one occasion the coffee machine broke down in the snack bar, so the waitress was asked by another member of staff to make me a coffee from the machine behind the bar, which she argued with him about but eventually did. Someone behind me asked her for some hot water for a tea bag and she refused, shouting it wasn't her fault the machine was broken. The area to the pool doesn't open until 10am, so if you are up early an want to sit around the pool, you will have a bit of a wait. The hotel reminds me of the old 18-30's, but for 50-70's - lots of people hooking up and getting drunk day and night, so it could be quite noisy. There were also single people of all ages from mid 30's to late 80's on their own, who love the hotel and return frequently, so it depends on what you are looking for and how fussy you you are. This isn't the worst hotel we have stayed in, but it certainly isn't one of the best and so we wouldn't return.
The hotel is in the middle of nowhere with not much to do around. The staff are friendly and the hotel is clean. Our room was ok, just a broken lamp and stitching coming away from the sofa (first impressions last) The all inclusive doesn't include use of the spa this incurs an extra charge which is disappointing. The entertainment is none existant as the entertainer doesn't show up and the management are aware of this. The food is basic and bland and very repetitive. I wouldn't book this hotel again. It's not a 4 star hotel as stated and at £3500 you expect better I have been generous with 2 stars, this is for the staff and cleanliness
If you want a quiet location for a cheap get away then this is the place. We went for 4 days and had a nice break. Staff friendly, massage in the spa was a lovely treat. Room tidied daily, new towels, sunbeds outside the room, 15 min walk to beach downhill, up on the way back lol. Not much around or in the very small town ( about 30 mins walk) but we went to chill so ticked the boxes. Note Take 1 euro to get a refundable plastic cup though for pool drinks. Only real negative was the food was cold unless just cooked, but a usual choice of food and always found something to eat. An enjoyable mini break
I always stay in a 4 or 5 star rating and reviews so this hotel shouldn’t have come up on my search. The reason I booked it was due to getting a great deal but also due to the amount of reviews from solo travellers. I’m so glad I did as I’ve had the most amazing week and met some lovely people. I will 100% return.
We went as couple mid November and had a lovely relaxing week. The hotel itself was clean and had everything we needed, the pool area was nicely set up with plenty of loungers. Of the three pools one was nice and warm but the others were very cold. The gardens were lovey and well maintained and the mini golf was fun and a good addition to the gardens. The nudist roof terrace was basic but nice and quiet and a relaxing way to get rid of those annoying tan lines. Our room was nice and spacious and the bed was super comfortable. The staff were wonderful especially the cleaner and all of the bar staff. The food was buffet style with plenty of choice, it was a little repetitive but was all good. I know some other reviews didn’t rate the food but we enjoyed it. The all inclusive drinks were okay, the spirit were local brands and not to everyone’s taste but they were fine in cocktails or with mixers. The wine was okay and the beer was good. The area around the hotel is quiet, the nearest shops and beach is a short taxi ride away or a 30-40 minute walk. There isn’t a huge amount of shops or restaurants but it wasn’t an issue for us. The Asian restaurant was amazing and wasn’t expensive. We had a great trip and look forward to returning next year.
I witnessed a chef coughing over food, then touching his ear and continuing to handle food without washing his hands. That alone should be enough to make anyone seriously question the hygiene standards in this hotel. This is not being picky — it’s basic, fundamental food safety. What makes it worse is that I raised this with reception and they couldn’t have cared less. No concern, no urgency, no attempt to investigate. Just indifference. If that’s how serious hygiene complaints are handled, it says everything about the standards here. Service elsewhere reflects the same attitude. At the pool bar, one of the younger bartenders acts like guests are a nuisance, rolling his eyes when asked for a drink. You feel like you’re inconveniencing staff simply by being there. This hotel markets itself as a place to relax, but between worrying about food hygiene and dealing with staff who clearly don’t want to be there, it’s anything but. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and will not be returning.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5 We stayed at KN Matas Blancas in Fuerteventura for a short break (Sunday to Wednesday), and despite reading a lot of negative reviews after booking, we were pleasantly surprised. We were only there for 4 days and 3 nights, but it was exactly the relaxing getaway we needed. Hotel & Staff The hotel was clean throughout, and we genuinely couldn’t fault it. All the staff—from reception to maintenance to the dining room—were welcoming, friendly and helpful. There was a slight language barrier (my Spanish is non-existent!), but everyone tried their best to assist. A special mention to Rosie, the waitress, who was such a lovely, fun presence. Also a shoutout to the chef on yesterday morning—a tall, very dark-skinned man whose name I didn’t catch—who was absolutely brilliant. He made fresh eggs and bacon for us on the spot and nothing was ever a problem. Food There was a good variety of food, though I’d describe it as average overall. Sometimes dishes didn’t look the most appealing, but the chefs were happy to cook things fresh if you asked. The snack bar wasn’t great, and seeing flies landing on the food put me off a bit. Entertainment & Facilities We didn’t see or hear any entertainment during our stay, but as we were only there for a few days we were happy to relax, unwind, and people-watch. We used the spa, had a nice massage, and made the most of the facilities, which added to the break. Location The hotel is quite secluded, and it’s about a 25–30 minute walk to the beach. Something to keep in mind if you have mobility issues, though it didn’t bother us for a short getaway. Extras It was my husband’s birthday, and the hotel kindly delivered a bottle of bubbly on ice to our room—a really thoughtful touch. Overall We had a lovely little break before the Christmas madness. It was perfect for what we needed: calm, sun, and a chance to recharge while the kids stayed home with their grandparents. Despite some small areas for improvement, we’d happily recommend it for a short, relaxing stay.
The hotel is very friendly. I was on my own but soon met others and had a great time. I always found something I liked in the restaurant. Sunbeds were plentyful.
I’ve not long arrived home after spending 4 fabulous weeks at Kn Matas Blancas Hotel. This was my 19th visit to this amazing hotel and I have 3 more visits this Winter to look forward to! When I first stayed at Kn Matas Blancas Hotel which was approximately 8 years ago, such was the welcome I received I knew this was going to be my future Winter holiday home. And the welcome I received for my November holiday was no different. As usual all of the hotel staff did their utmost to make sure my holiday was as enjoyable as possible. The reception staff were, as always professional as ever, and were always there on hand to help me with any questions or queries I had. The food in the dining room was delicious and up to its usual very high standard. And after many days out walking/scrambling up the hills and wandering along the many coastlines, the evening meals were very welcoming indeed! It was also very nice to return to a clean and tidy room after a day out, and the walk in showers were the perfect antidote to sort out my tired and aching muscles. And when I felt the need to spend the day at the hotel I knew I had the choice of 3 swimming pools, the spa, a gymnasium, and animation activities to look forward to. I’ve only been home a few days, and I’m already looking forward to my Christmas stay at this wonderful hotel. Thank you ever so much KN Matas Blancas, see you again soon! 😍🙏
The staff are manly friendly there was work being but they left it a mess.the food was in general good however was cold.on last morning sausage was not cooked.you can't get a coffee ☕ at dinner very strange. If they put a few things right id given a 4 ⭐.The evening entertainment is very poor & Finnish early.could say more but I'll leave that for others.
Had a really good experience at this Hotel, not top 10 but you get what you paid. Really good choices at the buffet with great service (chefs and servers) the staff at the hotel are also great, Angel and Bryan thanks you for being so quick at problem solving and being so welcome! If you really want to enjoy around the area, have a half board (breakfast and dinner) and use the midday to explore Costa calma. The hotel is Sadly located next to a waste plant which send weird smells into the rooms and very much all around the hotel, but, I have to say that the cleaning and sanitation is good around the hotel and rooms. Make sure you explore the spa, didn’t have time for any treatment but very relaxing experience when using the facilitations. Very quiet area, which means very relaxing time next to the pool, ideal for people that like to disconnect. Quite far from the airport but make sure you get a shuttle, leaves you right outside and great at picking you up to get to your fight on time. The rooms are good and make sure you ask for a sea view one!
Eine gepflegte Hotelanlage
Nichts Negatives
The rooms have zero sound proof even a conversation can be heard from next door. The tv doesn't work, shabby rooms. Powerful shower and room was clean. The food , it's poor very poor and very repetitive choices, most of the hot food is overcooked fish is always dry I never had any meat. I eat with my eyes first and the Meat was not appealing. I complained to the receptionist and was told they would forward to the manager to get in touch, 3 days have passed and not a word. My glass of wine was served in a toothbrush glass I will post photos, I did complain and was then given an empty glass to decant my wine into. It really is a bargain basement hotel and I should have known by the price I paid for a 5 days get away. Never would I stay here again. Pay a bit more and get better accommodation.
Coming to the end of a pleasant and enjoyable week at Matas Blancas this hotel is great for people who like the poolside but not good if you want the beach holiday. The staff have been good especially the bar staff and a special mention to the lady at reception who helped me to move room after my original suddenly had a neighbour who had a chainsaw and snored until gone 10 in the morning no sleep for me that night but the new room is great. The rooms are pleasant and the beds are comfortable and clean each room has their own sun loungers. The food has been pretty good especially breakfast the drinks have been good as well good measures and the beer has had a good taste. The daytime activities for me have been non existent and the evening seems to be centred on Karaoke they could do with more variety this is why I only gave 4 stars instead of 5.But all in all a good hotel and I have booked again for next year you will always get grumpy people who will have a moan but I liked it
Definitely not a 4 start hotel. Breakfast up to 10:30, however some days we didn’t have the chance to eat any pancakes or other pastries, however there were many other choices and this was tasty, few times dinner was cold but a lot of varieties of food choices and very tasty, room definitely need refurbished and also our balcony door doesn’t close properly and we found cockroaches in the room and this could be the reason. Nice staff very friendly and helpful. Overall nice experience but not totally as expected.
We visited last year. So good, we went back for 2 weeks this year we had the same room, ( I did request this via email) Had an amazing time. The staff are fantastic. Some can't speak English, but that's OK. With the pigeon Spanish we got through. My mission is to learn Spanish this year, so when we go back next year, I'll be able to converse better. Plus Jose at reception has made a deal. No backing out now! Although I think you're safe! 🤣 Seriously, I love this place. The food is what you would expect from an all inclusive. I've had worse food. This place seriously is fantastic. See you next year.
The location of the hotel is a little isolated so if you want to get about I would suggest hiring a car. The hotel was very quiet however it was low season so the hotel wasn’t at capacity. The rooms are dated and the bed wasn’t the comfiest. The bathroom was very clean and the shower had a good flow of water which was always hot. There’s plenty of storage in your room and also a safe which has a daily charge. The pool area is very clean and again was very quiet. The pool snack bar is very limited with a choice of hotdogs, burgers, chips, salads with burger and hotdog buns. The choice of drinks in the hotel are very good. The only downside is the food in the main restaurant. The choices are very repetitive and not very warm so I had to use the microwave to heat it up. One particular night the chocolate cake with cream was still frozen in parts. The staff are absolutely brilliantly throughout the hotel. Would I recommend this hotel to friends and family then unfortunately I’d have to say no which is such a shame as that reflection is down to the food. Just a little more effort on the food side then this would be a excellent hotel to visit.
Ladies and Gentlemen, good afternoon. A TOTALLY honest review! I spent a week at this resort in October, and my observations were as follows and I will attempt to dispell any concerns, but make others obvious; 1. Yes, and I hope the hope hotel are reading this. Breakfast, perfect. Dinner, whilst all the food is, you can tell, lovingly prepared and looks great, its not HOT! You have the equipment to make it hot, so do it, please! In 7 days, only 2 of them I ate from what was an amazing looking menu due to the heat! Paella, wedges, etc etc....they need to be hot! 2. Hotel, pools, spa and rooms, immaculate - no issue with cleanliness, room cleans, refreshes whatsoever. 3. Bar/entertainment staff are excellent and attentive. If you say leave me alone, they will. Choice of drinks is great. 4. There is a naturist area on the roof, way out of sight of everyone. If thats not your thing, dont go up there! 5. Due to 4, the hotel may attract an element of people that are presumptious of your staying, you can however tell them you arent interested! 6. The hotel is very much a relaxed, adults only environment, and lets be honest, you are not paying 5 star money, and 3.5-4 is where it is at! Dont complain about that! 7. I met some AMAZING people there, from all walks of life, single, couples and it was an absolute joy. 8. Everything you need is there, provided for and I for one am going back within the next few weeks.
The hotel is very clean and the receptionist staff are lovely but there is a big downside the food as we cut open some chicken and it was a bit pink and the deserts were frozen and it was cold and the food used for breakfast was reused for dishes in the evening so we went out for some food mamma Mia is good prices and big serving some of the bar staff were amazing at the hotel they were roses and angel at reception made our stay the beach is also one see it is very beautiful
Lovely hotel and friendly staff. Unfortunately the pools were too cold to go in but used the indoor pool. Hotel is let down by its restaurant . The food was warm, poor choice. Flat croissants and Yorkshire puddings. Their idea of an English roast was peppercorn sauce instead of gravy. Came home with gastroenteritis! Definitely not a 4 star!
If you're a single female traveller I would highly recommend that you don't stay at this hotel. My friend and I took a day to work out what was going on, but it's fair to say our intuition/spider senses were tingling a few hours in. It appears to be a solo hotel where lots of people get drunk and hook up. Assuming it's all consensual fine. But, there are a number of men that seem to be prowling day and night to hook up. It's a bombardedment and made us feel very uneasy. Some of the hotel staff appear to facilitate...on a mission to get women drunk. The animation guy is less subtle with his advances. It was like an episode of Open House, but we just wanted to spend some time in the sun relaxing. Instead we felt we had to be rude and standoffish with other guests, avoiding eye contact and turning down invites to get the message across at best and at times a little scared. In a world where we're battling against violence against women and girls the mini mart makes a joke out of this (see picture), this summed up this establishment as a whole. The food is pretty bad, breakfast is the best meal of the day. It's cold and dry.
What a fantastic hotel and all the staff are brilliant especially Aday and the lovely barmen at night times.I went as a solo woman traveller and enjoyed it that much that I extended my stay.I have just returned home and looking at rebooking again this year.Thankyou for all your hard work on making my holiday so enjoyable.
Would like to say a massive thank you to the lovely staff at KN Matas Blancas Hotel. This was my first solo trip and a bit scary at my age, but they totally looked after me and I cant wait to come back, amazing service.❤️
POSSITIVES Pool area nice , rooms good with good shower . Enjoyed food most of time good choice . NEGATIVES few heavy loud drinkers with a few kick offs , even police involved on 2 occasions. Place is ok for sunbathing but not alot else to do . Long ish walk into town which is amble thru some nice palm trees 🌴. However town is pityfully small with rip off trinket shops , due to lack of competition . Beach is beautiful but not a lot of coffee shops or even beach beds . All in all not bad for what you pay but wouldn't go back . But thanks to polite staff for stay anyway .
Experience racism & physical abuse. A staff member put his hands on me and punched me. I’m traumatised and feel unsafe. The manager and stafff did nothing about it and told us it’s our fault? The worker that did this to me is still here attacking me with verbal abuse. The hotel is dirty old and dusty. Food is terrible made me sick. Spa you have to pay extra. Facilities don’t work. The people here are all racist and the manager is useless. No security on property. Situation wasn’t delt with we was told to leave. Horrible place. Avoid
excellent hotel food good very clean staff brilliant entertainment fine .I'm going again in October to a different hotel in the same area the price was a pit hi for me but I will be popping in for a drink
If you are a solo traveller then this hotel is welcoming and friendly to all whatever your age. You can choose to take part in as much or as little as you want during your stay. Entertainment in the evening wasn’t up to much but the bingo night was fun and so was the karaoke. All inclusive here is somewhat disappointing. After 11pm you have to pay for your drinks. The snack bar cooks food to order but doesn’t serve food between 1-3pm as the restaurant is open then. All the hot food at meal times is lukewarm at best but you can heat it up in the microwave provided. Not really what you would expect to have to do. The food on offer is ok but if you’re expecting gourmet meals and choices then you will be disappointed. Room cleaning is also a bit hit and miss and they forgot mine twice during a week’s stay. Please note that it is a quiet resort with not much in the way of bars/restaurants/nightlife etc. The beach is a good 15 minute walk from the hotel but it is worth visiting and there is a nice beach bar. A taxi back to the hotel will cost 4-5 euros. All the hotel staff were helpful and friendly and did their best to make sure your stay was good. If you’re on a jet2 holiday you get 2 hours in the spa included. It is worth visiting. The pool areas were clean and well kept but they don’t open until 10am and shut at 6pm prompt. Visit the market and the beach during your stay - both are worth it. Overall I enjoyed my stay but I don’t think I would return to this hotel or Costa Calma.
Is there any shops at all near this hotel or close to it as I like to get out and go for walks around the shops and stuff or go out for a walk
Enjoyed a trip here with my partner. After reading some reviews I was a bit worried but I think some are under the wrong impression that this is anything but a budget hotel offering all-inclusive. Food quality was good, it is indeed warm rather than hot but usually when you sign up for a buffet experience that is what you expect and you don't have a paddy about it. The drinks were good but sadly only a few options were included in all-inclusive and it's a bit unclear what you have to pay for sometimes. I also unfortunately found the snack bar lacking but simply waited for the aforementioned food, the subjective quality could vary but at every meal we had something we enjoyed and the dessert was always quite good. The staff left some food for us on the first night as we arrived at 11 o'clock due to some delays. I do wish the staff had made it clearer how to ask for your room to be cleaned up, as you need to leave a slip in a certain place to get new towels or your sheets cleaned. I think the cleaners may be understaffed as it took a while (they're about from 8 til 4) to do their thing. I think a sweep of the floors could've also been beneficial both indoors and out. Reception were helpful. I asked for extra pillows and got them without issue a few hours later. Location is remote but this was fine, we did not have many plans to leave the hotel anyway and liked the relative quiet of the resort alongside the fact it is adult's only, but some guests could certainly be quite loud of their own accord. Also if you book here with Jet2 you apparently get 2 hours free in the spa per day.
think it’s fair to say the reviews don’t really do this hotel justice. We arrived a bit apprehensive after reading some mixed comments online - but honestly, our experience couldn’t have been better. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout, the food was excellent (plenty of choice and always something tasty), and the rooms were spotless. Sure, the food wasn’t piping hot every time, but it was fresh, varied, and really enjoyable. Entertainment was another nice surprise — good quality and fun, though it could definitely be advertised a bit better around the hotel. Overall, we had a great time and came away really happy. Thank you to everyone at KN Matas Blancas for a lovely stay.
I have been here a few times now and always found the staff friendly, rooms clean. The food like any buffet is not warm enough but a microwave is provided and that sorts out any issues. This time however I have found an issue with cleanliness and needed to ask for my room to be sorted after bins etc had been left for 4 days. The pool area wasn't properly cleaned the 2 weeks I was there, with dirty cups etc strewn on the floor the next day even after it had apparently been cleaned. The pool itself is cleaned every morning but not the surrounding area, there isn't any excuse as you can't even access that area until after 10.00am giving plenty of time to clean it. The music can be loud depending on guests, as the entertainment guy puts music on that's asked rather than the usual mixed tracks to suit all ages, so this week it's been like Ibiza, which only encourages those guests to be loud and drunk but nothing gets said. Costa Calma is no longer calm I'm afraid, it's dirty and noisy.
Don’t take notice of the negative reviews - you can’t please all the people all of the time. Location: 1 hour from airport, situated at the top of a long hill, very little to do outside of the hotel. So if you want to party the night away then this is not for you. Hotel: clean, basic rooms with TV (only English Channel is BBC news 24). There is a fridge and safe, table and two chairs, dressing table and a wardrobe which only has four hangers, so consider bringing some with you. Shower is ok however, the water temperature fluctuates from what you to set then to boiling hot on its own so beware! Rooms are cleaned every day including fresh towels. Staff are friendly and polite especially the management. Food: lots of choice but anything that is supposed to be hot, is warm at best. There is a microwave to heat it up if you want to, but you shouldn’t have to do that. The next item on my list is a bit contentious; guests! This cannot be levelled at the hotel as they have no idea who will be staying there but in our experience, beware, lol! The hotel is ‘adults only’ and it is not unreasonable to expect adults to act that way! There were groups of men (30 - 50 year olds who should know better) thinking it was funny to get perpetually drunk and swear at each other wherever they went; poolside, restaurant, entertainment room. Loud, brash and very opinionated especially towards women. Imagine 17 year old boys acting as if they own the place and you’ll have some idea. In the whole, if you want to lay in the sun and do very little else then this is the place for you.
From the moment I arrived to the moment I left I could fault nothing .I arrived at 11 Pm and the staff had a meal waiting for me in my room. Checking in was simple and fast. Everywhere was super clean ,The food in the restaurant was so varied ,well cooked and all tastes catered for. Staff really happy to help and always cheerful. The gym was clean with lots of equipment, I will definitely return.
Me and Charlotte had a 10-day fantastic time at Kn Matas Blancas. Had no issues with the cleaner. Who has this negative feedback to your hotel rubbish. The food was OK and the drink was good. , pillows were very uncomfortable. Could you have done with two pillows. The weather was perfect and the pool was fantastic. The staff were fantastic. The African market was good, and the boat trip we had was a good day out. Peaceful and quite
We arrived at this hotel having read the reviews. Greeted by lovely staff Jesus & Angel. We were allocated 232. Found the room easily and it was very very tired, not particularly clean and I found a dirty sock wedged behind the tv on the wall, some Mr Kipling Battenberg box and an empty Walkers cheese and onion crisp packet in the wardrobe, over 50 fag ends in the garden area of our patio and variations on the flooring. We had the rubbish taken away along with the sock. Who the hell puts dirty socks behind a tv ?? The fag ends stayed in the garden until Tuesday, 3 full nights of our stay before we changed rooms to 214. This was a revamped spotless room with a pool view and much brighter and nice, and more comfortable mattresses too. Although the tv didn't work as well as the dirty room which had a smart tv, that wasn't a real problem. We upgraded to AI but the drinks are absolutely dreadful. The bars have funny opening times and the drinks are tasteless so we gave up with those. Which brings me on to the entertainment! This is poor, we stayed for the Karaoke one evening and the Quiz. These events descended into an absolutely dreadful experience of the chosen few who thought they could sing taking over as the entertainment for the evening. It was just a drunken embarrassment to watch. The quiz was overtaken by a rather loud and possibly inebriated British girl who decided she had the hump after being disqualified for my the quiz for cheating, and disrupting the whole evening by finally being told how much of an embarrassment she was and to mind her language on the microphone swearing at everyone. After that she never smiled again all week, probably due to being told off, bearing in mind this is an adult only hotel the behaviour was just embarrassing. I have no idea how the large tall gentleman who was completely parametric fell on a tiny size 6 lady, resulting in glass's being smashed all over the roof top bar. Staying at this hotel was probably the worst experience we've had in a long time, the behaviour of the select few in this hotel was just horrendous. Now we go to the pool, which is clean although to get a sun bed is nigh on impossible unless you queue at 1000 for opening time. Food was ok, there was everything you could think of, although a bit like warm, there are 2 coffee machines which are only unlocked for breakfast. Now, the drinks in the buffet are just as bad, the beer on tap is just froth, the post mix up drinks such as sprite, Pepsi are awful and are over gassed and run out constantly. The restaurant staff are lovely though , although a service did not go by without them dropping plates , it was quite funny in the end! There is no option for a hot drink in the room unless you take your own travel kettle, take an extension lead too as plug sockets as very scarce and don't expect usb points. Towels were changed when we left a note, although the cleaning does leave a bit to be desired. On checking out I asked reception the time which I was told 1200. At 11.39 the cleaner was trying to get us out of the room mid shower to clean it and wouldn't go, she didn't believe the time I was told. This hotel is bare, clinical and just has an uninviting area to sit in reception and roof top bar ( which only opens 1830-1200) so you can't even get a coffee there in the day time. The spa I never saw in use although I did go in and have a look, and there was no receptionist or anyone at all. This hotel could be so much more than it is. It fails miserably, even a few plants would brighten it up, it's like a dirty hospital. We also nearly missed the transfer due to the wrong time being printed on the wall, however I don't feel this was the hotels fault, the bus drive me wasn't shoot when I tried to explain that the wall said 1530, when he was shouting at us in reception at 14.25 ! I gave up in the end to honest. Now, as for people saying there is nothing around this hotel the isn't true, it is up a hill away from the main things but if you step out and walk there's quite a bit. There is 2 small supermarket type shops just around the corner, a Spanish bar and a huge Chinese shop that sells absolutely everything under the sun, it is hidden behind the Spanish bar and Tonysnonsolo ( which never saw open) There's a market on Wednesday and Sunday, there's the bus stop right by that that can take you you to Morro Jable, there's bars and restaurants down the front which we used every night and every meal we had out was amazing, you just need to look and join some fb groups like " what's on in Costa Calma " then you'll have a great time ! 😀 My last point is that they don't tell you much about the hotel unless you ask, there needs to be some kind of folder in the rooms for this information
Relaxing and lovely trip away. This is actually one of the best all-inclusive holidays we've done, including hotel comforts. All staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. They do their best to keep you happy and ensure your stay is comfortable. There was plenty of variety on food, though plenty of home comforts like chips and pizza if you're unsure. I'm not a huge tea drinker, but I did hear other guests request kettles - though I believe these can be hired from the hotel for a small deposit. The hotel also has a sustainability policy in place, which is great to see. Housekeeping will only change your beds and towels when you request them (which is easy enough to do - pop a note on your pillow and towels in the shower). Rightly so, they also request a €1 deposit for a cup you can keep all week, that's safe for use around the pool and that are returned at the end of your stay with your money given back. Where they can cut down on unnecessary washing, they do and it's a great idea. The rooms are incredibly spacious as well, and have some of the more comfortable beds compared to other hotels we've stayed at before - but that's all preference really. Our room also had a mini fridge, which was great for water. We also had blankets in the cupboards too and pool towels supplied by the hotel. The swimming pools are amazing - salt water! All different depths too so you can swim where you feel comfortable. The hotel advertises a nudist area, but no-one really used this during our stay. The hotel gym also had plenty of space and opportunity to work out. There's a spa on site too that you pay a small fee to use. The hotel is also wheelchair accessible, with ramps and slopes around the buildings and into them, as well as a lift for guests to use that reaches all floors. I would perhaps make a small suggestion to check for trip hazards are there is a little sign of wear and tear outside on the tiles (but it's not drastic). The hotel is also about 15-20 minute walk from the beach and about 20-30 minutes walk from various shops. We also visited to the showroom on the live music night where we heard the incredible voice of Angelson who had people up and dancing! A lot of the negative reviews are actually addressing the 11-11 all-inclusive rule, but your breakfast is included and you can grab coffee and refreshments from 10:30am when the snack bar opens. At 11pm, the hotel has a rule about charging for drinks, which has been a standard practice at other hotels we've visited in other countries.
The staff are wonderful but the hotel is let down by its overall decor and cleanliness . There were never any queues at the bars but there were a few occasions where there was very little left to eat at the buffet. And I did find a little extra left for me in the room by the previous guest, did tell reception but nothing was done about it. If anyone is staying in room 109 check if it is still there… see photo .. also asked for clean towels 3 times and had to resort to asking a passing cleaner if I could have one . Still enjoyed myself and meet some really nice people..
Everything about this hotel was perfect . Staff very good, food wonderful and great entertainment. Would definitely return and recommend to family and friends.
The hotel is of a good quality - comfy beds and lovely swiming pool area with a entertiment. Food wise everyone will find something.
This hotel ticks all the boxes regarding facilities cleanliness except the gym which is dirty with filthy machines and missing equipment .The is a outstanding spa area which is very well maintained and equipped . This hotel is lacking where food is concerned. The restaurant is underperforming in many ways. The food is bland and barely warm. Always a queue for the ONE coffee machine. There is an extra machine in the far corner but is not switched on until later on in the service. No coffee is available for lunch and dinner service Had to ask for the fresh fruit machine to be switched on at breakfast and the list goes on. If this side of the business was improved the star rating would improve dramatically. This is our second visit which on the whole is great hotel which could improve dramatically with a few changes. The staff are courteous and polite and very hard working especially ROSI in the bar and restaurant who is a gem and an asset to the business.
Have just returned from a 7 day half board stay. On arrival staff were very friendly, hotel was clean, room was clean, tidy and airy with a view over the pool. Had air conditioning which was a bonus. Food is what you expect from a 3/4 star hotel was edible and always found something to eat. Entertainment was a little hit and miss, with late changes to that advertised but the animation guy was amazing at getting guests involved in the daily activities round the pool, he was very energetic and friendly. However, although mostly positive day 5 of our stay, changed when money was taken by the maid and when reported hotel weren’t bothered that a member of their staff who guests are meant to be able to trust had rifled through a guests possessions and taken money that was hidden and out of sight. There was no apology, and was told it would be investigated. As this was a day before leaving never found out the outcome or even the offer of reimbursement. Also on a bit of a negative, there were a few guests who took the all inclusive too far, constantly drunk foul language and no respect for others. Location is quite a way out so if not looking to leave the hotel this would be the ideal place however if your one that likes a walk around and explore this isn’t the place for you as would need a taxi or a 20+ minute walk. Would highly recommend the Mamma Mia restaurant that was in the nearby town. On our experience we wouldn’t return and wouldn’t recommend.
Very disappointing! The hotel reception area itself is sparking clean shame you can not say the same about the rest of the hotel. The pool is cleaned daily but the surrounding areas are filthy dirty and your feet will end up black from walking around in bare feet. There is also very little shade around the pool so everyone is fighting for the umbrellas that are there and very little respite from the hottest part of the day. The food is awful with no flavour or taste to anything and was only ever luke warm never ever hot. We had to eat out a few times because of this. In the 10 days that we were there our bed was not changed once even when I asked at reception it was never done. Towels were rarely changed and had to ask reception several times for clean ones. There was hair in draws from previous guests and the bed was broken and dipped in the middle so had constant back ache. Unfortunately we had some very noisy neighbours and they just did not know how to close a door without slamming it, the hotel needs to invest in some soft closing doors. If you are expecting air con in the rooms please do not expect to much because it really is just sub standard. There was a mixture of people here for the first week and lots of solo travellers which were all mixing together so was lovely to see, but after that shall we just say that the new people that turned up were making the most of the all inclusive drinks and were extremely loud which is just not for me. We met some amazing people which made our holiday and if it wasn't for them I think we would have considered coming home early and we have never thought that before on any break.
The hotel is average and not upto its star rating, the food is not good, the kitchen staff just don't understand how to cook, its either over cooked or under cooked, the cleanliness is average, most of the staff are great, now the dark side of the hotel, on the day before I left one of the cleaning ladies came to service my room, I had just returned from the shop after getting some water, I unfortunately left my wallet by the TV in my room, I went out onto the terrace with some water to give the cleaner the opportunity to clean my room, when she left and I picked up my wallet I realised that she had taken €50 from it, I informed reception and sent an email, I know who it was, the hotel knows who it was, simply by checking who was on duty cleaning my floor that day, the response i received from Juan, I assume he is management, was i should have a safe deposit box, I did have one, I had just returned to my room with my water and dropped my wallet by the TV, I never expected a member of the staff to let herself into my room and help herself to my money, they don't accept that they have a member of staff who has access to the guests rooms who is dishonest, if you visit this hotel do not leave anything of value out, even if you are in the room and locked your door because the staff can just walk in and help themselves, I will never return there and never recommend this hotel to anyone.
Very pleasant stay at this hotel with my family , food was decent there is something for everyone but can be tedious after a while , I would aim to eat food first thing as the restaurant opens , rooms were spacious and big enough , shower and bathroom was nice and updated not many issues throughout this holiday at all . All staff were amazing and there to help whenever needed, customer service is great. Aday on entertainment was genuinely one of a kind, he made our holiday complete , from keeping us entertained throughout the day and night and working non stop and he would go above and beyond to make sure we were looked after. A credit to the place really top bloke and I believe friend for life. He was made for that job and you can tell how much he enjoys it and I can confirm he really does make the best sangria in the world , so many things to participate in water polo , yoga , flea markets , karaoke , quiz nights with prizes , the spa you will not get bored if you utilise all things provided. Also Rosi on the drinks bar is unreal what a woman she would do anything for you and she’s always smiling and singing and her energy is infectious , she was kind enough to gift me a key ring so it can remind us of our stay , Hotel is quite secluded but no more than €7 taxi and 5/7 minute ride with many restaurants and bars to choose, along with a beach view and shopping markets. Renting a car is something to consider as things to do can be out the way but at reception there is opportunitys to book activities outside the hotel , it’s perfect for a quiet stay with friends and family. Parking outside the hotel is easy always free spots. Cleanliness of the hotel overall is good , We were satisfied. Some reviews are point blank lies I know this i genuinely have had a great 10 days and I will definitely go back, yes there’s room for improvements but there is for everything in life , I know the staff would be more than happy to hear constructive criticism. You might have the odd one or 2 loud couples and family’s leaving the show room but that is expected surely, not once did I feel like anyone was being overly loud and drunk. Atmosphere overall was great , we met many friendly people from all over the world , you can have the odd few that take things to far but that is quickly quickly sorted by hotel staff.
Personal recepción de noche excelente, muy atento y amable Sr Mamadou
Breakfast was ok and size of the room was nice
I was awaken every night because of noisy neirghboors who were screaming in the corridors and in their rooms. They were even putting loud music at night. Reception helped me but still the frequentation of this hotel are highly not reccomended
