Wir haben das B&B auf dem Heimweg von Irland über GB nach Deutschland genutzt. Es liegt perfekt mitten in der Stadt an einer Hauptstraße, ist aber trotzdem sehr ruhig! Die Kommunikation - wir konnten Fähre bedingt erst um 10 p.m dort sein - lief sehr gut. Das B&B hatte sich super darauf eingestellt. Danke auch für den "Absacker"! Die Zimmer und Dusche/WC waren gut und sauber! Das Frühstück war sehr gut - alles da, was man braucht. Das B&B ist sehr gut geeignet für Zwischenübernachtungen, aber sicher auch für ein paar Nächte vor Ort! Strand und Sportmöglichkeiten liegen direkt dem B&B gegenüber und sind top gepflegt. Eine schöne Ecke... Also: Klare Übernachtungsempfehlung von uns! Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Elaine was exceptionally helpful and welcoming. The rooms and beds were comfortable and clean. Our breakfast was delicious. Would definitely recommend.

Our room was actually a lovely little suite of 3 rooms including a separate lounge with little decanter of whisky. Suite was up 2 floors Enjoyed full Scottish breakfast though plenty of other choices. Could choose time of breakfast Free on street parking right outside the guesthouse. Hosts very helpful.

The room, accessed from an akward section of steps was small with no real view, but very comfotable, clean and tastefully decorated. The whisky was a nice touch! Breakfast was extremely well cooked and served hot.

Nothing really. I could only get 'catch-up' TV but I did not question this, I think the reception in the area was poor as I found in other accomodation in the town. However this was not a major issue, the room was not the reason for staying.

Hôte très accueillante. Joli guest house, face à la mer, et très belle vue depuis la chambre. Tout près du centre-ville et de ses magasins. Chambre très accueillante, bien conçue. Nous avions même un petit salon privatif avec télévision, puis salle de bain et chambre. De petites attentions appréciables pour l'accueil... Prix extra-raisonnable pour ces prestations. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir si nous repassons dans le coin.

We had such a lovely stay and perfect having the 2 rooms together, so our 14 year daughter could have her own space. The beds were super comfortable and the cooked scottish breakfast was so fresh and delicious. Very friendly host. Would highly recommend. Thank you 😊

We had a very comfortable night at Lakeview Guest House before boarding the ferry to Ireland. Our hosts were very friendly and even left a dram of whisky in a decanter with glasses for a nightcap which was a wonderful gesture. They also gave us a good recommendation for a local restaurant for our evening meal which was excellent. Breakfast was delcitious and we left feeling very well rested before our ferry crossing.

The room was compact with every convenience. A fridge and generous amount of whisky, much to my husband's delight. The beds were comfortable and en suite shower good. The breakfast was freshly cooked to order and the dining chairs so comfortable. Would stay again without hesitation.

Room was fantastic. I say room - we had the whole top floor which consisted of 3 rooms, bedroom, living area and bathroom. All 3 rooms had a sink which was very handy. Lots of space, comfortable, very clean. Breakfast was excellent - catered for all our needs. Lovely hosts. Excellent location for the Ferry. Would definitely stay again.

Well cared-for decor, beautiful carpets, exceptionally clean throughout, space to move around the bedroom, and a lovely en suite in a novel setting.

We loved the hostess. She was super nice and accommodating. I had handwashed some clothing and she was very agreeable to our request to tumble dry for us, since it hadn't dried well overnight.

the stairs were a little steep for our short, elderly legs, but the rooms and hostess were worth the climb for us.

The location for me travelling by motorcycle was ideal with free off road parking opposite. Elaine recommended a good place for an evening meal which was a 10 minute walk away. After an early start a 730am breakfast was requested and fulfilled. The accommodation is very well decorated, exceptionally clean with my single ensuite room of a very high standard. I would recommend this accommodation unreservedly.

We stayed here for a night prior to sailing to Larne. Lakeview Guest House is in an excellent location, above and beyond in cleanliness and appearance, very good room comforts, and very pleasant and warm welcome by owner, everything was great. We were greeted by Elaine as we got out the car with a warm friendly welcome, water milk tea and coffee facilities available even a dram at the side of the bed. Place was spotless and well looked after, decor is gorgeous, bed very comfortable, breakfast was also very good given a menu choice upon arrival and expected time of breakfast and everything was catered to our choices and also offered extras on time. Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a booking in Stranraer.

Hosts excellent, friendly. Breakfast excellent. Room, excellent. Friendly and nicely appointed. Lovely bathroom too. The bed was comfy and held the sleeper a bit like a nice cocoon. But for my personal taste I do like a harder mattress. But no fault with what was there. Good sleep. Sadly I did not allocate time to visit adjacent amenities such as the beach/shore areas.

Spacious rooms, tea and coffee on hand, close to Cairnryan for the ferry, parking on road beside the entrance, restaurants and pubs a short walk away. It was great!

We stayed for only one night and it was perfect for us. It was all good.

Handy location for town centre and public transport. Spotlessly clean. Despite being on a main road the guest house was very quiet. The owner was very kind and took an interest in the guests.

Everything-We couldn’t fault this guest house. Beds were comfy and our room (no 3 family room) was spotless and spacious. The host was professional and friendly and breakfast was lovely. It was also good value for money. Would recommend staying here and would definitely stay again if in the area.

We stayed for one night before getting ferry from Cairnryan. Guest house in a good location, owners were friendly and helpful. Rooms were a good size and clean. Nice touch including fresh milk in fridge in room. Breakfast lovely able to confirm night before what you wanted. Easy to park, can park on street or car park opposite which is free. Would recommend as a place to stay.

Centrally located at the sea/loch front. Parking directly outside - or available in the car park across the road My single room was compact, comfortable, modern and spotlessly clean. Cordial welcome with an efficient check in process and good options for breakfast. Excellent value for money. The dram of whisky and the mini fridge in the room with fresh milk and water were lovely touches which made the Lakeview stand out compared to a couple of other places I've used in Stranraer. I wouldn't hesitate to return.

It was my third stay at the Lakeview Guest House and I definitely would recommend it as a great place to stay at. Elaine was as friendly as ever and the location is perfect for both walking along the shore and exploring nearby attractions.

The room that I was staying at was on the small side, but it was manageable. A very comfy bed more than made up for it anyway.

I was contacted by Elaine several days before my stay to confirm my arrival time and provide some travel directions and parking guidance. When I arrived, I managed to park on the street more or less at the front door. Not that parking was ever going to be an issue with a huge public car park directly across the road with both car park and on street parking being free. Upon arrival, I was met by Alan who kindly got me booked in and shown to my room. This place has a Tardis like affect! Not much to look at from the outside but you're eyes are immediately opened when you get inside. Not what I was expecting and pleasantly surprised. I was travelling for work and had a single room with ensuite shower room. The room was clean, spacious enough for my needs and the bed was very comfortable. I slept well throughout my 2 night stay. Plenty of complementary tea & coffee in the room as well as a small decanter of whisky if you're so inclined! A very nice touch although I didn't partake! Decoration throughout, including my room has a feel of a higher end Scottish themed hotel. It was quirky and homely. Breakfast was nothing less than fantastic and cooked to perfection and both Elaine & Alan were very friendly and engaging.The perfect hosts. For overalls value and just about everything else you could need for a stay in Stranraer, you'll be hard pressed to get better than Lakeview Guest House.
