Location, requested sea view room and given one. Large room comfortable bed.
Quite a few cobwebs and spiders in windows.
I requested a sea view room that was confirmed by a email to confirm my request unfortunately we was put in a room facing a back street never seen a staff member Location was good
Facilities were very dated No staff communication threw out the stay
Location was fabulous and was only a six minute walk to the open air concert venue. Rooms were spacious, very well decorated and comfortable. The hotel was quiet and it has its own car parking spaces .
Na
Lovely hotel with a great view of the north bay. Tea, coffee and milk in your room and more if you run out, just outside your door. The owners were very fast in replying when we asked questions, and they were very good with allowing us to park early and parking after check out. Great hosts!
We struggled with the shower. Waited over 10 mins for the shower to warm up, then when it warmed up there was hardly any water coming out. It then got to hot so put the cold on a bit, and the whole shower went cold again, it then took another few mins running it back on hot to get hot again. Terrible shower!
I have the sea view room. Probably because I booked the family room. The room is clean without any bad smell or stain on the bed.
Very noisy. The floor is not sound insulated so you could hear exactly what people are talking about and stepping on the staircases.
Excellent location. Short walk to the beach
Great location for North Bay and Open Air theatre. Looking out to sea from front of hotel. Room only rooms were comfy. Tea and coffee in room and in downstairs lounges. Lots of instructions provided by text before arrival on key access/parking.
Car parking a bit of a squeeze but you can park from 10am so get there early for ease.for the bigger cars
It had everything we needed and more. Amazing location with stunning views. Easy check in and check out.

My room gad a fantastic view
Great location. Clean rooms with tea and coffee! Great view from my room!
Location and car park
No staff and situation of the room
Very good location for Peasholm park and outdoor theatre. A nice walk to Sealife centre too. Let us park from 10am on our day of arrival which was very helpful.
No reason to dislike anything
It exceeded my expectations, the view is wonderful day or night. We also had binoculars , a small fridge, very clean, a lot of pillows, a kettle, few sockets of sugar and instant coffee, tea. Was so easy to check in,they sent us a message with all instructions step by step. Shower and hot water made us feel like home, also towels for each person. There are 8 spots for parking, first come first served and we were lucky to find one.Added to my favourite
If you're smoking you have to go outside and if you're room is upstairs you'll have to do an effort. When we were looking to charge our phones, the sockets were located almost at the ground but we managed to use the ones from the kettle or at the entrance to the toilet. I didn't mind anyway as everything else was so nice!
The room was good and very clean.
A lot of stairs
Good size room very clean everything we needed for a couple of nights stay. Check in is at 3pm but carpark available from 10.30am which is brilliant dropped car off and out we went. Perfect spot when attending events in the park.tea and coffee available in downstairs room as well as a kettle in the room. Would definitely book again.
Does feel abit odd letting yourself in and just leaving the keys in a box not meeting anyone from the property though it says there is someone on site and contact numbers are provided. Very hot while we were there feel the outside areas need a bit of TLC to make them more appealing.
Well looked after, nice and clean.

Spotless Amy, she was really lovely and helpful Close to the Open Air Theatre
It’s not the Ritz but it’s very clean and the staff are great.
The location was ideal and managed to park at the property.
It was quite warm being located on the top floor even though a fan was left in the room.
The instructions to gain access were clear and easy to follow. The room was plenty big enough and clean.
Great location for the Open Air Theatre. We managed to get one of the free parking spots. The room was spacious, clean and nicely decorated.
The bathroom is a little dated. We didn’t see any staff at the property which was fine as everything worked well, but it might not be great if you have any problems.
Perfect for cricket
Poor parking
Nicely situated in the quieter side of Scarborough, very near to the outdoor arena where we were attending a gig. Clean and comfortable accommodation. We were able to park our car prior to check in which was really helpful.
Our only inconvenience was we could not get the front door to open on check out, meaning we had to walk around the block to get back to our car. The door has a complicated opening procedure which we tried to work but couldn’t. It was OK but we did wonder what would happen if you needed to get out of the building quickly in case of fire etc.
This is 2nd time we have stayed here and will be booking again soon. The Kenton is lovely b&b. Its clean, spacious and is right on north bay front. Fairly big shower for the room. All accessories were to hand ie kettle, coffee, tea etc also shower gel shampoo and conditioner, Its in literal walkin distance of everything. Onsite free parking was a massive bonus aswell Absolutely love this place
Location was ideal for open air theatre and town.
Room was quite small and the bar didn't appear open when we checked
The bedding was clean and Bed comfy. Great location with amazing views.
Location was good close to where we was going
Nobody questioned me when I just walked through the door and upto the room. Could not get the bedroom door to lock so had to leave the door unlocked when we went out. Only saw the cleaner who seemed friendly but didn't see owners.
Very clean and airy with pleasant staff Great situation Excellent value for money
No lift
Good location and great price
Room very tight, window looked very rickety, couldn't open wider, didn't want to damage it. Mat next to bed had crumbs/dried grated cheese(?) On it.
The location was amazing to wake up with the sound of the sea
Nothing it was all good
Perfect location for concerts at open air theatre Great extra’s within the room Iron, ironing board, mini fridge, fan
No breakfast or greeting face to face Did not ask for car registration for parking (anyone can park there and owners wouldn’t know a non resident)
Location Clean Comfortable beds
Na
Excellent value for money and a great location for going to the open air theatre. The room was very clean and tidy and the bed was very comfortable would definitely go back.
Close to the Open Air Theatre
Rooms were dated, no personal welcome when we arrived
good location for cricket and the north riding pub, and peashome park, which is what we wanted - bed was comfortable, but 3rd floor double room a little bit small, but if only wanting somewhere to sleep it was ok - large shower and bathroom - room was clean - tv had loads of channels and wi-fi was good
the walk up all the narrow stairs to the 3rd floor - no good for asthmatics ! - parking is limited so best to park up and leave car there if you get a spot
Cleanliness of room and bathroom, and the public spaces
I knew it would be the case, but not seeing any of the staff. In that sense, felt impersonal.
Close the open air theatre which was perfect for us. Lovely clean rooms even had a mini fridge! Smart tv in the room and free WiFi
Clean, comfortable, perfectly located for the Open Air Theatre and reasonably priced
Nothing
Location great for the open air theatre
No breakfast but places to eat nearby so not a big issue
Really lovely sea view, comfy bed, great facilities and location
Shower was tricky to turn on and off. Towels were very small. But these were minor concerns
Very nice, clean and comfortable room.
Poor parking room quality shocking and no staff
Room.was lovely and staff were very friendly and helpful even letting me drop my bag of very early.
Distance from centre was a bit of a hike. Absolutely noy a deal breaker as the place was lovely. Next time id just utilise peashooter park aswell
Location
Great location. It was clean and the communication from the owner was good. Would definitely stay here again.
The flow of the shower was quite slow but the owner did communicate this.
Good location and free parking Easy to check in
Room was clean but lots of cobwebs and dust and cobwebs around stairs etc
Great location
Had to call on arrival as no details of how to get in. Rang doorbell numerous times but no response Towels were tiny! Bathroom very dated and poor repairs Stain on bathroom door - looked like blood/make up
The view! The parking and the convenience .
Nothing really .
The view
The room was dirty, un dusted, and smelt
Very close to scarbro’ Open air Theatre ( which is why we chose it, as were attending a concert there.)
Lovely Sea -View room was given. Room 6, 2 nd floor ( we were going to be given a non-sea view room,) but I E-mailed a week before to ask if one was available could we please have one.) Room had kettle, tea / coffee making facilities, fridge & toaster & microwave. ( not all have these lady said next day.) I wasn’t aware of this & had I know could’ve got some food provisions in for breakfast. I didn’t look in the drawers to see what poking utensils / cutlery there was to use / cook with, or any washing up things / tea towel.. but there may have been? Towels were provided for us 2 people. Beds comfy & good shower. I asked if we could leave our cases at property whilst we went to scarbro’ to meet a friend.. this wasn’t a problem & made the day better not having to take luggage with us. *Could perhaps benefit from a shelf being added on wall where mirror was to put hairdryer / straighteners is only tip. * Bed side lights in a bit of awkward place right above head on head board wall.
Fantastic location for the open air theatre Lovely clean room
Option to have breakfast would have been good bur otherwise nothing
Great value for money
Location was great for the Open Air spa/concert Comfy bed, little fridge and tea/coffee facilities Parking was free and available at back of hotel- although a bit tight! Hosts answered messages quickly and instructions of how to access room clear
Woken up at 4am with sun blaring through window as curtains did not fit across the whole window Shower was not very powerful
good location for Scarborough open air nice clean rooms happy with the price we paid and bonus of on site free parking
the showers water pressure wasn't the best
Good location Spacious room Fan was great
Only 2 small windows that didn’t open very wide , luckily there was a fan provided
Location for open air theatre. Immaculately clean throughout Great views over the bay
Spiders webs on outside steps. Although I didn’t need a member of staff it was my first time staying in a non staff hotel it felt strange. Nothing wrong.
Location to open air theatre
Shower water heat and pressure but think it was because we were on 3rd floor , didn’t bother us for a 1 night stay
The location was excellent , close to the Open Air theatre. Which we were attending. Very quiet area and plenty of cafes and restaurants/bars to eat. The hotel was clean, the room was clean and it had excellent hot running water to shower. Beds were comfortable too. We had a comfortable nights sleep…Very quiet hotel. Excellent facilities (kettle- milk and tea/coffee provided ,tv, iron, /ironing board ,hairdryer, - And the fan was a blessing in this heatwave). We had plenty of room to keep our clothes in the wardrobe too . And also there was free tea or coffee available in the lounge too. There was a nice seating area, with a bar . Would stop again and staff were very helpful. Thank you.
I can’t fault anything
Lovely & clean
Lumpy, old mattress
Great location. Clean bedding and towels. Comfy bed.
Shower very poor.
Location was excellent. View was beautiful. Room was compact, but this is fine for a one-night stay. The thoughtful inclusion of an in-room fridge was a pleasure to discover, as we stayed there during warm weather.
It would have been useful to know in the pre-arrival messages that on-street parking discs are available for those of us who can't fit on the on-site car park. Unfortunately we discovered this information after we'd already paid £13 to park further away on Royal Albert Drive, as the note about the parking discs is posted on the property's door, which you obviously can't see from the road. Fortunately we didn't have much luggage.
Location
No complaints
location
nothing springs to mind
Price was the only thing it had going for it. And a 2 minute walk to the Clifton hotel for breakfast.
Room was over crowded by trying to make a double room into a 4bed family room with the addition of a set of bunk beds. First impression was the amount of flies buzzing round the room it took 15 minutes to chase most of them out of the room, gave up with 3 still left. Unfortunately the cobwebs in the corners of the ceiling didn't alleviate the problem they didn't trap any flies, which I assume was the reason they had been left there. The mattress on the double bed wasn't a match in size for the base, they had tried to hide the fact by pulling it to the bottom of the frame and just putting pillows across the gap at the head of the bed. Which showed when you got into bed and the pillows dropped into the hole left by the undersized mattress. As previously mentioned, cobwebs in corners of the room, also water left in kettle from previous guests, bedding totally mismatched. Only one teabag left in room, loads of coffee sachets ( I hate coffee) and as a 70 year old disabled gentleman, I could not face going from the second floor to ask for more, then drag myself up four flights of stairs back to the room. In the morning after an abysmal shower, due to the cheap water saving shower head which only allowed a gentle mist come from the shower rather than any real flow of water., we packed everything with a view of grabbing breakfast that was advertised as available at an extra charge, when the wife rang the service bell she was told, 'we haven't done breakfast for over 2 years' (this was the first time we'd seen a human other than other guests) if this was the case why was the breakfast room laid out with numbers on each table and cruet sets? Basically we won't be going back, especially when you consider the Clifton hotel a 100 yards away has similar prices and better facilities and live members of staff, who are trained to take care of residents and non resident customers.
Had a family room which was spacious for us as a couple. Comfortable bed. Good showering facilities.
The double bed head proximity to bed in the room next door. Could hear very loud snoring from the room next door during the night. No means to let in any air on what was a very warm night.
The view was excellent
Shower was poor, very weak pressure.
The room was nice and big. There was space for parking. It has tea/coffee facilties and a bar downstairs. Very hospitable. Very clean and tidy . Really good value
Just minor things really. One of the drawer front was loose. The wardrobe handles need tightening up. Extractor fan and light above mirror in bathroom not working.
Good rooms, clean, comfy beds, great apartments, ideal location for open air events, only 5 mins walk.
The location is absolutely amazing great view from our window.
How clean it was and the location
Not seeing any staff and the stairs
Perfect place for an overnight stay as we were attending Scarborough open air theatre. Short walk to venue. Lovely sea view from our third floor room. Straightforward system to access and return keys.
The bed wasn’t comfortable for us but we are very picky about mattresses!!
