Alfie is the friendliest host you could wish for. Great pub downstairs. We were fortunate to be entertained by a fabulous singer on Friday evening.

Staff where lovely.

Room was tiny and floor was grubby. Tv not tuned in and sky didn't work. Guess you get what you pay for and it was cheap. Wouldn't stay again

The bed was super comfortable, Alfie the bar tender so welcoming and even carried out bags upstairs. A great local pub with a good atmosphere at night and a free pool table.

Price was over inflated but presumably was due to events on in at the town that weekend. Wasn't a 'boutique' room. Very dated and old looking.

Central location, quiet area (we stayed on a weekday), family room with a separate bedroom was great for the three of us. Friendly host. Microwave and fridge in the room.

It would be even better if there was some sort of a coffee table in the lounge area,and some more storage/a cupboard in the separate bedroom.

Were booked for room only to attend an event at Scarborough Open Air. Prices do hike when a popular artist or band is playing. We paid £180 for one night of room only at The Black Swan and the room was clean, comfortable and staff brilliant. Outside was a little rough around the edges and the carpet on the stairs could have done with a vacuum but the room was absolutely fab!

The outer door:- We left our room via the front door of The Black Swan to go for breakfast. On our return the door was stuck fast and we were unable to get back inside for around ten minutes. Maybe get a little WD 40 on the door to stop guests panicking like I was.

Damien the owner was fantastic and very friendly. Great location near to the centre and the rooms (double and a twin) were clean spacious and very reasonably priced. Also the bedding was lovely and soft. Had a great night and would definitely book again. Thank you

Location was ideal; everything clearly explained and facilities more than adequate for a short stay. Music from pub below finished at about 2300.

The two pillows were far too low for me and the bed rather springy; that said it’s the seagulls that keep you awake and there’s not much that can be done about them!

The stairs to the rooms had not been hoovered so first impression not good. Even though the price was good should still have been clean bed a little uncomfortable bedding had not been ironed do didn't look freshly made.

Staff were lovely always asking how we were and how our day had been. Location was great. Amenities were good for what we needed. Lively local pub however once in the rooms you couldn't hear anything from downstairs. Great price.

Warm welcome on arrival , good size room and large bathroom . Our room was missing the fridge so Alfie the barman found one from another room and he put our drinks in to cool .

The room was basic but clean and the bed was comfortable. There was a large fan in the room which was great considering how hot it was. The welcome was really friendly and couldn't have been better. The customers in the pub were also very nice and welcoming We expected there to be quite a lot of noise from the pub below as we were on the first floor and the pub was full of people watching the football but actually there was only a little bit For the price, it was an very good price and value for money and we would definitely stay here again if we were in the area just needed somewhere to lay our heads rather that a luxury couples night away

The only actual negative was that we had booked a room that said that there was a fridge and there wasn't but I suspect that this was a Booking.com thing, not the fault of the Black Swan staff. Someone in the room above sound like they were doing a clog dance at 2am but it was during the World Cup so we'll not hold that against them

That we got accused off stealing bedding and the way the owner text my gf it was very abrupt saying that we stole bedding and not returned they would call the police, in the end it was a mix up but didn't even apologise to us properly when they said they would call us back

We stayed at this hotel during our trip to Scarborough. The location was very convenient and close to the seafront. There is a paid car park about a 3-minute walk away, although parking is actually free from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m. the next morning. The room itself was very spacious. I was travelling with two children, and the room had one double bed and two single beds, which worked well for us. It was also useful to have a microwave and a small fridge in the room. The bathroom facilities were good too, with both a separate shower cubicle and a bathtub.

The hotel is the type of accommodation where the pub is on the ground floor and the guest rooms are upstairs. Because of this, it was still quite lively downstairs after 11 p.m., and the noise made it a little difficult to sleep.

Comfortable and well presented room in easy reach of North and South bays. Alfie was very friendly on arrival and showed me to my room. Reasonable night's sleep despite the best efforts of herring gulls and people with loud TVs and voices in the early hours. Happy to look after my bag after I checked out until time for my train.

Parking nearby is expensive and limited during the day. Free and unlimited 6pm to 9am. It’s a popular pub so can be noisy til late.

It wasn't the best of nights sleep. The mattress was worn, so I felt like I was being tipped off the bed. They should consider replacing these. Maybe it was just my room.

Cheap and cheerful, clean and everything you need for nights stay. Included sky and amazon tv. Easy check in and out, lovely friendly helpful staff.

The room was small but not an issue. The pub is in the centre so quite noisy at kicking out time but again, not an issue soon quietened off.
