It's a bit dated, a bit shabby in corners,the fridge wasn't on when we arrived and took forever to cool. So we lost a lot of freeze with out ice packs.

Beautiful location - and our 3rd floor room was in the tree tops (although the elevator is inside, you exit to the outside to enter the room) and this was unexpectedly charming. The room was spacious and tastefully decorated. There was a neat "coffee station" in the room. The grounds were lovely. Complimentary tea/coffee in reception. Beds were cozy.

Although a beautiful location, a proud looking set of buildings was beginning to look just a bit run down. The red shutters on the window above the entrance were faded and some slats were broken and falling. The sink in our room's bathroom had a cheap rubber stopper and the drain looked kind of gross. There were many of these small, almost unnoticeable details that tell you that things are not once what they were. I get the feeling that it was bought out a few years ago (there is a lot of curry on the menu) and the new owners don't put as much into the site as it deserves. I totally agree with the vast majority of past reviews- breakfast looked pretty bad. We drove 2 min down the road to SD and had a great buffet that was very reasonably priced.

We liked the large room , comfy bed , nice linens and towels . The front of the property looking towards the water was very nicely landscaped . Resturant closed for a wedding so walked 5 minutes to a Resturant called Lobster Suppers .. excellent meal… lobster yum !! Walk to town 10 min.

The pug under the desk came out of the wall. The desk chair was extremely stained and dirty . The entrance to the room at the back of building needs some sprucing up .. very dark and weathered .

The room was spacious and clean. The staff were pleasant. It was close to the main strip in Baddeck and the grounds were well maintained.

Parking was a problem because all spots taken up by guests who were therefore a wedding, but the staff gave up their parking spots for us.

Did not eat breakfast there as the bus tour folks took all the seating

If the front desk receptionist could have told us if we would like to eat dinner or breakfast to reserve a spot

Buildings and rooms dated. Parking layout terrible. Not a good value for the rate we paid with an additional $17.95 for breakfast.

I like everything of this hotel.The location is good.The room is big and clean. The bed and the comforter are comfy. I had a very good sleep. I also tried to look out restaurant, the Butter Chicken and the Mushroom raffioli. really good. I highly recommend this hotel.

The check out time is at 10am, instead of 11am

Great location within walking distance of the shops and restaurants in Baddeck. Dinner at the on-site restaurant was delicious. We shared the halibut dinner.

The beds were fine but not super comfortable. The fan was too noisy to run during the night. We were on the first floor facing the office area so we had to keep the blinds closed.

Location and facilities

stayed three nights. we had a queen suite which was a very large room, with a sitting area. also had a fridge. receptionist was warm and welcoming. waiters exceptional. the room was really pretty. could have used somesfinishing touches. a new hairdryer would have been nice. only a five minute walk into town with lots of stores and restaurants. we did our laundry there. they have 4 machines and three dryers. i would stay here again. see my pics on google

Curtains in my room did not close. The exterior lights shone all night. I had to rig coat hangers to block some of it. The aircon was not on when I arrived so the room was an oven.

Buffet breakfast was not hot, eggs, bacon, hash browns etc warm not hot. We were at breakfast 15 minutes after start time and already cold. For the price was disappointed

Food was great, rooms were clean and new.

Wifi didn’t work in our room and no service in the area so we were pretty hooped.

Staff were friendly. Place was clean. Liked the fruit infused water in lobby, and free coffee/tea. Good location. Attached restaurant for dinner was very good. Main areas very clean, although dated.

Soundproofing was awful.and we could hear people walking, running and dragging luggage in the room/s above us.l, and could hear people talking oitside the room. Water in shower went back and forth from freezing cold to hot. Wifi was not good, very spotty. Hotel and rooms seem dated. We have stayed at Inverary resort in the past and tbsir accomodsrions are much better, although Auberge Giseles restaurant is way better than the Inverary resorts.

The window would not open in one room and the conditioner in the second room would not shut off. The breakfast was terrible and was not worth $18.00. No fresh fruit or vegetables, no cheese or cold cuts.

Very nice hotel. The front desk staff was very nice. The location was awesome. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Tom's Pizza was amazing. One of the best pizzas we've ever had.

$17.95 was way overpriced for a very disappointing "hot" breakfast that had very little choices

We couldn’t eat dinner because all the bus people took up the dining area. We could have been told to reserve a table when we arrived at check in. Also the wooden stairs were very slippery in the rain. My wife fell and hurt her leg

I liked the location, cleanliness, parking. The grounds looked beautiful, with a view of the sea and lots of areas to sit and relax.

The room had a fridge, but the microwave was a distance from our room. Our bedroom looked really comfortable but I was unable to draw the curtains. I need a dark room to sleep.

Furnishings in the room were not just standard hotel fair but fancier. We had an excellent dinner meal served amazingly fast which was great because we were heading out in the evening.

Getting the breakfast was too pricey.

Clean and accessible location; accommodating staff

It will be much better if they have shuttle van/bus at least going to/from the nearest bus stop to/from Halifax knowing that there's no Uber, taxi, public bus within the area.

The elevator was broken when we arrived and we were given no assistance to get our bags to the third story.

Le sofa de la chambre était taché de liquides douteux à plusieurs endroits. Nous entendions très fortement le bruit de la ventilation du bâtiment principal, même la fenêtre fermée (notre chambre donnait sur le parking derrière le bâtiment principal), et les odeurs de cuisson et de poisson du restaurant émanaient si on osait ouvrir la fenêtre. Finalement, nous entendions aussi très clairement nos voisins de chambre.

We stayed in a room which was in the 3rd floor, we didn’t realise there would be no lift and as we are now in our 70s lifting heavy suitcases is not easy.

Lovely spacious room for our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) with some beautiful touches and decor in the room. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and we also ate at the onsite restaurant which served delicious food, including a yummy (family recipe) curry. Would definitely stay here again.

Baddeck ist ein wirklich sehr netter Ort, und die Unterkunft liegt perfekt, um alles fußläufig zu erreichen!

Das Restaurant ist personell etwas unterbesetzt, und man muss teilweise lange auf sein Essen warten!

First of all, I think it's a good quality stay for the price. 2. Pillows and a king size bed were comfortable. 3. Keurig machine was helpful in the morning. If you ran out of coffee and milk/cream, the front desk offered us more every day 👍 they also have a coffee machine and fridge bar in the reception area and a nice terrace with tables that you can relax at any time of the day. 4. Close to the lobster dinner area down the road. 5. Air conditioning worked well for my stay in July.

The breakfast buffet food wasn't good and the workers didn't keep the food topped up. I had to ask for more food because the tray was empty. The pineapple was old.

Gorgeous gardens and grounds. Clean comfy. Location is nice for walking to Main street. Views are nice as well from the front of the office building and restaurant.

Water pressure in the shower was quite poor.

Well located to start Cabot trail. Very comfy beds. Shower average. Bad soundproofing so try to get upper room as you hear people walking when above you. With ear plugs it didn’t bother me. No noise from the road noticed

Only just managed to get a parking spot. The overflow parking was in terrible condition and needs sorting out! Rough surface, potholes, etc. Internet didn't work. No hot water for a shower in the morning. The place is dated, rough-round-the-edges and needs a damn good overhaul. If staying in Baddeck, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

we reserved a superior queen with two queen beds and a second sink and vanity area outside the bathroom which we thought would be practical. Our room did NOT have the vanity area. The manager said that Booking.com sent a reservation for a standard queen, so that is what we were given. Not too happy about that. Also, the hotel has no room cleaning service while you are there. I like to have that tiny bit of pampering when I am on holidays, so that was disappointing. I don't need the sheets changed daily but emptying the garbage and replenishing coffee pods etc would have been nice, at a minimum.

Room has funky smell and same with the bathroom. Room looks newly painted but you still smell the age of the room. We stayed in the lower floor and we can hear the footsteps from above. If you're a light sleeper, this might be an issue for you. Location is great and staff are nice. Food in the Diner is great and affordable.

Great family run establishment. They are so friendly and they have a nice restaurant and bar. The rooms are clean and comfortable. It’s walking distance to lots of shops, cafes and live music. Our room didn’t have a fan in the bathroom so it stayed kind of steamy after a shower but that’s the only negative we experienced.

The property consists of several buildings and extensive gardens with several options for outdoor seating and eating. The whole property looks clean, organized and well maintained. It is located within walking distance of the center of Baddeck and restaurants. The staff was friendly and helpful. As we were halfway through our 10-day trip, we appreciated the laundry facilities. The room was comfortable including bed and linens. The only issue was that the internet wasn't very reliable.
