Baddeck is a remarkably beautiful town. and it is definitely worth a visit. However, accommodation options are quite limited. so you won't have many choice. the location was great and th staff was extremely friendly.

It was not quite the modern style accommodation we had in mind

The room was very tiny, and barn sliding door to toilet and shower wasn't very private.

Das Personal er sehr zuvorkommend. Besonders Judy die uns im Restaurant bedient hat. Sie ist eine Perle auf die das Haus mehr als stolz sein kann. Das Restaurant ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Das Zimmer war für zwei Personen mit 12 m2 etwas klein.

Die Zimmer sind hübsch eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Zwar wird kein Frühstück angeboten, dafür gibt es morgens kostenlos Kaffee. Direkt gegenüber befindet sich ein Café, und auch ein recht großer Supermarkt ist nur wenige Gehminuten entfernt.

Fehlende Ablagemöglichkeiten im Bad. Außerdem gibt es weder im Bad noch im Zimmer ausreichend Haken, um beispielsweise Handtücher, nasse Jacken oder Ähnliches aufzuhängen. Schade ist auch, dass es im Inneren keinen Aufenthaltsbereich mit Sitzmöglichkeiten gibt. Die Räumlichkeiten, die abends für das Essen genutzt werden, dürfen außerhalb dieser Zeit nicht als Aufenthaltsbereich genutzt werden. Gerade bei schlechtem Wetter oder Regen wäre eine gemütliche Sitzmöglichkeit im Hotel sehr angenehm gewesen.

Sehr nettes Ambiente und freundliche Atmosphäre. Wir hatten uns für Abends einen Tisch im Dining-Room reserviert und das Essen war großartig 👏

Im Telegraph House Motel hatten wir ein Motel Zimmer, Da kann man gleich vor der Türe das Fahrzeug parkieren. Das Bett ist sehr gross und bequem. Wir haben im Motel Restaurant zu Abend gegessen, TOP.

The bed felt a bit uncomfortable, and when the restaurant on the ground floor is open quite some noise can be heard from below (luckily it stops at ten).

Lovely location right in the middle of the town. Staff were lovely and really helpful with information regarding our onward journey

The location is really good. Walkable to near by store and restaurant. The motel is kind of outdated, abd the room is small. The price is not that cheap, I think it is because of the location. There is another inn just around the corner which is about the same price. But the room is bigger and the bed is much more comfortable. I can only booked the inn for my first night, but it is not available for my 2nd night. That's why I booked telegraph motel.

Es war für eine Übernachtung genau richtig und ab 7 Uhr gibt es Kaffee im Empfangsbereich, obwohl kein Frühstück angeboten wird. Frühstück kann man sich an mehreren Spots in Laufweite besorgen

Excellent location in the heart of Baddeck, easy walk to shops and restaurants. Had the BEST dinner at The Cable Room. Incredible scallops, risotto, and bread with herbed butter. Staff at the hotel and restaurant were so kind.

My only issue was that there wasn't a quieter mode on the A/C fan.

המיקום מצוין. הצוות היה נחמד ומסייע. זה מוטל . ישן. צריך לבוא עם ציפיות בהתאם. היו לנו שני חדרים. לי ולאישינ חדר אחד במוטל: מבנה חד קומתי .החדר בגודל סביר, מאד בסיסי ופשוט אבל בסך הכול מאובזר במה שצריך. נקי. הכריות והמצעים נעימים, המיטה הייתה לי לא כל כך נוחה לאישי היה נוח. המקלחת בסיסית אבל נוחה . יש בקבקונים של שמפו ומרכך אבל כדאי להביא מהבית. ילדתי הייתה בחדר קטן במבנה המרכזי. הכול היה לה נוח : המיטה והכריות, המקלחת מצוינת, המזגן טוב. המוטל ממוקם במקום מצוין בכפר. ברחוב בראשי הולכים לכל מקום ברגל. ממול למלון יש בית קפה טוב לארוחות בוקר.

המזגן ביחידה במוטל הוא מזגן נייד עם צינור היוצא החוצה. מקרר אבל מרעיש מאד. יש גם מאוורר תיקרה אבל מאד חלש ולא יעיל. קשה להחשיך לגמרי את החדר. למי שזקוק להחשכה מוחלטת זה יפריע. החדר באופן כללי מיושן . בחדר של ילדתי הקירות היו מאד דקים והבידוד גרוע. שומעים כל מי שעובר ואפילו את הדיבורים מהקבלה שנמצאת קומה מתחת.. יש מדרגות צרות לחדרים במבנה המרכזי ללא מעלית. מי שמוגבל שיבקש מראש חדר במוטל ולא בבניין המרכזי.

We liked the location. The motel was clean, and basic. The restaurant onsite is excellent.

It would be great if breakfast was offered at the hotel. The bathroom could use more hangers for wet towels.

There was no shampoo,and only one little sliver of soap and they brought us the face cloths as there were none. Luckily I had my shampoo but forgot my body wash.

Loved the cottage. Beautifully decorated and had everything we needed.

We stayed in a cabin for two nights. The welcome was very friendly, and we were given plenty of information for our tour of the Cabot Trail. The cabin is adequate, though you shouldn't expect luxury or modern styling; it is simple, clean, and comfortable. We enjoyed the small balcony. There is plenty of parking space. As others have mentioned, there is no breakfast served on-site, but there is an excellent bakery-pastry shop right across the street. All in all, it doesn't meet my criteria for a long-term stay, but it's perfect for one or two nights.

The location is excellent, on the main street, close to the Graham Bell Museum. Breakfast is not available on site but there are places just across the street. The weather was not great so we elected to eat at their restaurant. It was on the expensive side, but it was well worth it. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was excellent. It ended up being the highlight of our visit to Cape Breton.

I can’t think of anything, except the lack of breakfast on site. Fortunately the weather cooperated that morning, even though rain was for forecast..

It is such a wonderful place to stay with so much history. We would have liked to have dinner but we had a late lunch. We went across the street for breakfast. All the people are so friendly and shared their knowledge and information

Everything was so special we are definitely going back to stay longer on our next trip

room was claustrophobic. had to pay more to move to the motel section even though we booked motel rooms. The attitude of the clerk and possibly the owner was extremely abrupt and unreasonable. all she wanted to do was sell us a reservation for the dining room.

A mansion like hotel with a few ‘cabin’ rooms in it’s grounds. Really nice decor in the main house, which is also one of the better restaurants to eat at locally of an evening. We stayed in one of the cabins (the main house was already full months in advance, when we went to book our accommodation). The cabin had a comfy queen sized bed and a decent shower in the bathroom. The air conditioning was a bit old and noisy, but there was good WiFi. Lots of parking and a lovely cafe on the other side of the street for breakfast.

It was well positioned.

Clean, renovated bathrooms with excellent showers and AC, fantastically comfortable beds and bedding. Restaurant had a really delicious top rate dinner, albeit pricey.

La posizione è perfetta e permette di visitare il centro di Baddeck senza muovere la macchina. Le camere del motel, di cui abbiamo usufruito, sono molto comode e pulite e si può parcheggiare l'auto proprio fuori dalla camera. I letti sono molto comodi e la camera è dotata di ogni confort

The beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was clean and spacious. The staff was very friendly and happy to provide suggestions for sightseeing in the area.

The screen door at the entrance had holes, so we needed to keep both doors closed to avoid mosquitos entering. The room was also far more aged than the website's photos let on.

Overall, I think this is good, and the staff are kind and friendly.

Great location and lovely restaurant the Cable Room, on site. Able to park outside the room. Milk in fridge and coffee available in reception in the morning but no breakfast. Lots of places locally for breakfast. Room serviced daily. Short walk to ferry dock and Alexander Graham Bell museum.

Tolle Lage in Baddeck, alles fußläufig erreichbar. Das angeschlossene Restaurant bietet eine hervorragende Küche zu einem angemessenen Preis und ist sehr zu empfehlen. Das gilt besonders, wenn man mal nicht Fastfood-Stil essen möchte. Das Zimmer war für 4 Personen ausreichend groß und sehr sauber. Die Klimaanlage hat für angenehme Temperaturen gesorgt. Das Personal war sehr nett und hat uns noch mit Tipps für die Weiterreise versorgt.

Es gab nichts zu beanstanden, wir können das Telegraph House ausnahmslos empfehlen.

Good location. We had a lake view room in the main building. Staff really helpful. They helped us change our booking for our return a few days later to a motel room which suited us better as it had a fridge and more space. High Wheeler cafe opposite is great for breakfast but be aware it closes on a Tuesday.

Room was a little small with compact bathroom and sink outside.

Goed gelegen motel in het centrum van Baddeck. Waren wat laat om in te checken, maar dat werd perfect geregeld na telefonisch contact. Ruime kamer, verzorgde badkamer, parkeergelegenheid. Ontbijtmogelijkheden en restaurants vlakbij. Ideale stopplaats tijdens rondrit op Cape Breton. Ook mogelijkheid voor een lekker diner, maar dit hebben we niet kunnen ervaren door te late aankomst.

We especially liked the large porch where we could sit and eat or just people watch. The location was really perfect and Baddeck is a fantastic spot from which to explore.

My wife and I stayed here one night in the summer of 2026. The hotel was perfectly located and the service was great. Our room, and the hotel as a whole, was spotless. The room was basic and there is no elevator so it seemed a bit pricey but it was the heart of tourist season in Baddeck.

Man hat uns ein Zimmer ebenerdig gegeben. Das hat mir sehr geholfen. Das Restaurant hat einen Michelin Stern verdient! Spitzenklasse! Frühstück im gegenüberliegenden Cafe ist sehr gut!

Motel parking in front of ground level room was taken by visitors on the upper level. Worked around it but perhaps clear indication for the parking at ground level be marked in some manner. The ground level room was chosen to accommodate mobility issues. Something to consider. No real problems.

This property has great history! The main inn is a beautiful building, and the motel was easy to access and very clean.

Our initial greeting wasn’t great. It took a long time to get the receptionist’s attention, and we never did hear a “hello, welcome!” The evening receptionist (Kathy) was talkative, and warm. The washrooms and shower were lovely, but the beds drooped on the sides, (so it felt like you were falling out of bed.). Otherwise comfortable. The chairs outside were a nice touch!

Thoughtful staff and a very clean and welcoming room. We stayed in the historic house itself so there were stairs to our room, however, the climb with luggage is worth it. If you stay make reservations for the dining room. The hotel is right in town so we could walk the town - visiting shops and the pier. The restaurant in the hotel was one of the best meals we’ve had in Nova Scotia so far and (bonus) the kitchen is entirely gluten free - hooray!

Lovely historic building, so the amenities are aged. Renovations are nice and appropriate. Friendly, helpful staff. Cable Room dining is superb.

Recht kleines Bad. Parkplatz ist ziemlich steil und Parkplätze vor der Tür wegen des Restaurants begrenzt. Wer Probleme mit dem Gehen hat, müsste das vorher klären.

Die Zimmer des Motel Bereiches waren recht hellhörig. Anstatt einer Klimaanlage war ein sog. Monoblock mit Abluftschlauch mit Auslass zum vorderen Fenster installiert. Es gab kein Frühstücksangebot, das Restaurant war nur zum Abendessen geöffnet

We stayed three nights in a room in the main hotel building. The impression of the bedroom was basic. Old style wicker bed , no tea or coffee making facilities. The bathroom had been modernized but otherwise it looked like a 1970s motel room with no character. No paintings , photos or other wall decoration. One basic chair and table. The carpet in the hallway ran out half way down the hall and changed to vinyl. There was a fire escape to the car park which had no security on the door. The restaurant in contrast had white linen table cloths and excellent service. The menu was limited if you ate here more than a couple of times. The only complaint was the noisy air-conditioning which was a retrofit unit installed through a window opening. Our food was first class and the wine list was reasonably priced. We were disappointed to find there was no breakfast offering, and were told it was because the kitchen was busy from 9.00am prepping for dinner. We weren't told about the places for breakfast, but the service was excellent at the High Wheeler Café and Bakery directly across the street. The Freight Shed also offers a full breakfast from 8.00am. You can also get bagels at the Bean There Cafe in the direction of the Alexander Graham Bell site.

This property is very central with lots Of restaurants, cafe’s and museum within walking distance. The property is well maintained, the grounds immaculate.

Das Motel liegt Zentral in Baddeck. Der Empfang war sehr nett. Wir waren im Haupthaus. Das Zimmer war etwas klein aber ausreichend. Die Betten für unseren Geschmack etwas zu weich. Man merkt das es ein älteres Haus ist, aber das macht seinen Charme aus. Das Badezimmer mit rosa Badewanne und Waschbecken war entzückend. Alles in allem toll.

The air conditioning was not effective and we slept very badly because of the hot inside the room. There was a kind of air conditioning but it was not refreshing the room and it was very very very noisy. It was the only very hot day we had in Cape Breton and it was impossible to spleep decently

Classic old Hotel with perfect location for walking to other restaurants, water front, Alexander Graham Bell museum, etc.. We also enjoyed a dinner in the Cable Room. It was very tasty, well presented, the staff was very friendly, all with an atmosphere that was charming and relaxing.

It is starting to need some updates to maintain it into the future. Drapes were worn and outside of the building could use paint.

Close to downtown. Safe, free parking. Plenty of hot water. Two queen room was clean and large. No breakfast offered but their restaurant is well known for its lobster suppers. High Wheeler Cafe across the street was our everyday breakfast destination. Baddeck is a cute town. Every inn/hotel seemed to have a restaurant.

Hotel is clean and staff is friendly but property is dated—oldish wallpaper, radiators, teeny tiny bathroom and very low toilet. Restaurant came recommended but we didn’t eat there.
