This is a lovely hotel and restaurant. It’s located close to restaurants and coffeehouses. The rooms are clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Perfect location to walk about

I booked two rooms. One is directly from Booking. The other is by phone. Two rooms are the same price. One room is good, but the other on the ground floor smells a bit musty. Also they charged a few dollars more than what was displayed from booking website. That is not good but seems no way to avoid that based on their explanation.
Central location and the hotel was very comfortable with the cleaning staff very friendly also.
Nothing of note.
Lovely historic house. Located very close to shops and restaurants. The new wing preserved the character of the original house. There is an onsite restaurant. EV fast charging is available at a Flo charger located in the parking lot, but it is frequently busy.
Rooms are not big but adequate.
Jet tub, walking distance to many restaurants
All was good
Location, Architecture, design & decoration
A very comfortable room. Had all the qualities of a well run hotel. Restaurant had great food and was just a few steps away.
. Location.
comfort/cleanliness 1
We enjoyed staying in Linwood Inn. The room was very comfortable, and dinner at the restaurant was delicious. We stayed two nights at Linwood, and it was our convenient base for our excursions on the Cabot Trail in Cape Breton Highlands National Park.

Quaint lovely Inn Fantastic food Great employees
I loved the location, the look and feel of the Inn was very charming and relaxing. The water pressure in the shower was fantastic. The jet tub was soothing. Parking was easily accessible. Loved the glass in dining section, it was lovely to eat while catching the views. The room was very clean and if it were not raining we would have enjoyed a drink or two out on the lovely private deck.
The beds were horrible, way to hard I could not sleep. The dinning hall was way to crowded and loud because of all the people in a small space. After a long day of driving we were hungry and wanted to eat, we waited and waited at the stairs for someone to seat us no one came. We went to the office, she was helpful she said she would find someone for us, and off shevwent to the kitchen, but no one came. As more and more people were coming to eat our choices were to stand in the rain or go to the front covered patio and wait, which we did. My husband went to the kitchen asked for assistance, boy was she not happy. There was an empty table in the glass room but still dirty with dished, she sternly told us not to go in or sit down we must wait for her to clean it, then she left to go back the the kitchen. We waited in the cold rain some more. About 12 min later she came cleaned the table and left us sitting in the rain again. So we just went in and sat down FINALLY a young server came she was amazing, then our stay became much more enjoyable with her attention to us. We arrived at 4pm. We left the next day at 7:30am
Amazing location, delicious restaurant and quaint rooms, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Highly recommended while staying in Baddeck.
Great location
Only complaint is the beds were very hard
Endroit chaleureux.
Le confort du matelas. La propreté des draps. Le manque de place pour nos effets personnels.
The room was nice, very old fashion looking. Overall we used this place as a place to sleep, so all else being said it's a good place to be at. it was nice that they had a laundry area!
Our phone didn't work and we told them, but nothing was done.
Great staff, clean, good location
the facilities are a bit dated.
It was very convenient to get most of our meals at the attached restaurant, and the food was very good. Entertainment during dinner was provided by Michael Cavanaugh who is an excellent musician and singer. The front desk and housekeeping staff were very friendly and gave us helpful information about Baddeck and Cape Breton. The restaurant staff were great, too!
It would be great if a fan could be installed in the bathroom; it was like a sauna without one! Also more outlets and storage should be added to the bathroom.
Location.
No reasonable breakfast options
Location is great! Clean. Good value for money.
Smell of old carpets in the hall
The decor and how well kept the hotel was.
Minor but the access to the hotel was a physical key, would be nice to have a card for easy access.
The location was great.
The room was comfy
Located in the center of Baddeck.
Kind staff and the restaurant was good
Air conditioner was noisy
Location and room
Although the food was excellent, the service for the appetizers and drinks was mediocre and the main course service was terrible. Although the restaurant was busy with several large groups, waitresses needed to serve the needs of their own sections versus helping the sections where insufficient help was placed. You may have a table of twelve with 1 waitress who needs help but if the waitress who is used from another section to assist isn’t meeting the needs of her own clients, there is a problem. The food was fine but if travelling through Baddeck, we will definitely being staying at your property but finding alternatives dining.
The room was lovely, nicely decorated and well stocked. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom had the most accessible shower I have ever seen. It was greatly appreciated.
The location, cleanliness and the design and decorations of the rooms.
No elevator, uncomfortable beds as they made creaky noise, too firm matresses.
Gorgeous room. Location couldn’t be better.
The location was great, the staff were welcoming, we loved getting to sit at the restaurant and enjoy live music in the evening.
The beds were very hard.
The location was excellent and the restaurant food was amazing.
Restaurant was excellent! Shower was excellent! Location was excellent
Internet connectivity and stability wasn't the best, better network needed. Lighting needs to be improved and mattresses. Needed more counter space in bathroom (especially for families).
Personnel sympathique et avenant, propreté de la chambre
Le bruit de l’air climatisé, difficile de dormir lorsqu’il fonctionne
Walkable to town - comfortable beds and good breakfast
Breakfast not included
Location in the nice town, good shower:)
Nothing
Great location within Baddeck to walk everywhere and Baddeck is a great location to explore Cape Breton.
Overall experience
More help with luggage etc on check in. We were just given the key and pointed to where we could park and then left to find the building we were staying in
they have a restaurant on premises
The stairs were a little much and no air conditioning in hallways
Emplacement super.
The location was excellent. Within walking distance to town, restaurants, museum etc.
The main doors were hard to get in and out of. The key locks were difficult to open particularly when bringing in luggage. The rooms on the lower floor were comfortable but the hallways and main entry way was sweltering.
Localization
Not much space for 4 people
The room was very nice and in a great location
Clean, stylish, and fully deserving of its 4 star rating.
The restaurant was very good presentation excellent
We like the location.
Location, staff, cleanliness, parking
Nothing
We had rooms with a balcony and enjoyed having coffee in the morning awaiting the sunrise. Room was spacious enough for two people and very clean. Location is central to the town and it was a short walk to the Alexander Graham Bell museum, to the shops and restaurants, and to the bay. A nice place to stay and a fun little town to visit.
We were a little early in the season (late June) so the hotel restaurant was just opening and only for dinner which we had there on the first evening (very excellent food). Other than that minor item, everything else was great.
The location was excellent , good parking
No breakfast available but that was time of year very noisy a/c machine
The room was spacious and lovely
The walls were really thin, you could really hear things above and beside you
Great location, nice decor, nice room. Great staff
The bed was very hard, used the extra blanket and the bed blanket under us, still hard
Localisation, propreté et service
Location in Baddeck; we were doing the Cabot Trail Loop.
Wouldn't stay there more than one night; room was kind of dingy, beds not that comfortable.
Everything
Friendly staff, comfortable beds. Great location
No breakfast options on site, but the coffee shops are close
Convenient location with on site restaurant and friendly staff.
It’s old and although it appears to be well maintained, it could do with some interior upgrades.
A smart room.
It would have been good to have a kettle - making tea in a microwave is a bit weird!
It was all great, comfortable and clean, quiet, lovely village, friendly shops and staff
All great!
It was ALL amazing! The location was perfect, rooms were very comfortable! Even the balcony was a treat😊
Nothing to improve upon😊Lovely to have laundry available!
Location, cleanliness
The staff was very nice
The wifi is horrible. Only steps away across the street, in the pizza parking lot, we had a good signal. But the entire time at Lynnwood we had a super weak signal. If it did connect, it quickly cut back off. Both my husband and I had work to do in the evenings. It was very disappointing. We paid too much not have a good signal when it is evident other businesses right around you do. Our son called late in the evening and we had to hang up because we kept going in and out. This part of our stay left a bad taste in our mouth. We hope you will make changes for future guests. Best, Julie
La personne à l'accueil. Impossible de recevoir le service promis du déjeuner inclus. Wifi désuet.
The facility was beautiful and the location was good. Good parking.
It was difficult to find anyone in the office or by phone to answer questions. The TV service was inadequate. We left one day early and requested a refund, but the woman at the desk said probably not.
Un hôtel ancien mais bien tenu et bien placé, l’accueil, équipement de la chambre.
Manque le service du petit déjeuner.
Very central. Very clean and friendly staff
None
Easy check in, very cute and cozy rooms. The balcony was great for eating and having my coffees at. The town is so small and walkable and right at the doorstep of this hotel. I had a great sleep on the comfy bed.
Room was quite lovely & very comfortable
Breakfast wasn’t open
It was a very good location to start our road trip of the Cabot Trail. The Co- op store was just across the street, the liquor store was less than a 2 min drive away, and you could walk to several options for breakfast n lunch/dinner.
I had asked for housekeeping services and not much was done other than fresh towels and emptying of garbage cans.
Great location and facilities were clean and comfortable
Addition of breakfast would have been welcome
Clean and well maintained.

Very pleasurable
The hotel was a solid choice for a one-night stay. The location was convenient (everything was walking distance with convenient store next to it) and made getting around easy, which was a big plus. The room had everything we needed and was comfortable enough for a short stay. The only downside was the mattress, which could use an upgrade for better comfort. Overall, a decent stay that works well if you’re just passing through.
The mattress was a little uncomfortable compared to other places we have stayed but it’s still nice for one night stay.
The quiet
The tub was dirty and staff didn't seem to care or provide any type of refund. The jet tub is why I picked this hotel
Location was great and was central to a lot of towns around Baddeck.
Breakfast one morning took over half an hour and sometimes they were out of ingredients for breakfast items.
Good location, amenities such as a nice bar.
My room was in the area of a large fridge, apparently producing tons of ice cubes for the bar late into the night. The fridge’s engine is like a big turbine. So I didn’t really sleep well. Maybe it’s the case for just a couple of rooms, but, tough, I was in one of them at full price.
The location is ideal for walking to restaurants, coffee shops, waterfront and across from the information center.
The restaurant
I liked the locations, but restaurant was closed.
Good location
Room full of flies and restaurant not open
Location is close to restaurants and shops.
After we started to check in with the hostess, she took a call and left us waiting for a while as she dealt with making a reservation for someone. I’ve never had that poor experience while checking into a lodging before. Also the room appears not to be updated in decades.
The breakfast in resturant was awesome though it is not compliementary
Of a V good standard. Breakfast fine. Location central & convenient.
Nothing comes to mind other than MORE stairs for an 86yo with luggage.
The staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the live music in the restaurant. The room was well organized and comfortable. It is a lovely, well maintained hotel.
It's an older hotel so the rooms aren't as soundproof as they could be.
Location
Carpets showing wear.
Location
Weird smell in room. It’s an old building, loud water pipes. Loud enough to wake a person up in the morning.
Perfect location for attending Celtic Colours events. Spinach salad in restaurant was excellent, and the live music added to the charm.
It’s an beautiful old hotel so the walls between rooms are a bit less soundproof than some places.
Super friendly staff!! Great rooms. Nice jacuzzi tub in the room.
Super location. Quiet and comfortable. Elegant in an understated way.
Not a problem for us because we are strong and healthy but there are no elevators to the second floor.
convenient location
old, tired rooms. hard mattresses
Great location, clean, good dinner options
Helpful staff, great location.
Decor a little dated.
Tv didn’t have the jays and yankees baseball game and no tv guide
Perfect location in Baddeck, lovely staff. Dinner in their restaurant was excellent.
No issues
Room was fine. I would only ask that when booking for 3 people there would be 3 bath towels. Staff was pleasant, ample parking and safe.
Perfect location to explore the cabot trail. The house is a bit dated, but overall seems in good shape. Restaurant choices and walkable harbour area nearby.
As the house is a bit old, the carpet is not the nicest anymore - but not a real issue
It was clean. The location was good.
Room that we were given had squeaky beds. We were given a handicapped room which we did not ask for. And the balcony we were sitting underneath electrical cables, which was not acceptable.
