Location was great. Room was clean. Handy parking.
No breakfast option. Bathroom was tired.
Comfortable bed, the staff were lovely especially the lady behind the bar who made us amazing cocktails :) Great location, right on the high street, and the room was spacious.
Our room was at the front of the hotel so it was quite loud, but the hotel provided us with ear plugs
Location was good, parking on site was a bonus.
Room 11, toilet didn't flush every time due to water pressure. Shower bar dripped the majority of time. Noise bad from the alley way.
Location
Noise from bar downstairs
Friendlty staff, clean spacious room with excellend shower.
Room over bar area, loud music until 1am, with extranal car'sracing up and down main street. Our room was at the front of the building meaning outside drinkers directly below window.
Clean, nice decor. Bathroom large roomy. Very quiet to say in Central town
Up numerous stairs & corridors were windy. However very quiet.

Cleanliness in bedroom, bathroom and bar. Staff were helpful and polite. One member helped me to carry one of my motorbike panniers. Location was well suited for touring Yorkshire area. Thank you

Great location
Food options in bar were poor due to running out of ingredients for many dishes despite it only been 6pm
Location is perfect for us

Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly.

Room was clean and comfortable - a little bit of noise as it backed onto the main road outside but not too bad. Very good fish and chips in the bar downstairs!

Everything about Katch was excellent the room was spacious and spotlessly clean the staff were very efficient and friendly it's our 2nd time there it's a great place to stay
Nothing not to like
Room was comfy and clean. Breakfast at the golden lion was good.
I had cycled 120km as part of day one of the coast to coast cycle route. When we arrived there was a large wedding party who were all very noisy and drunk with loud music. This carried on into the night. I would have liked to have been made aware as I didnt get a good night's sleep at all and had another 90km of cycling to do the next day. By midnight the noise had settled but I was woken at 3am by a drunken fued that went on for at least an hour. Then at 5am again and then around 6.30am to people erecting metal fencing for a kids dinosaur event. Not ideal at all and had I hace known, would have booked elsewhere because I needed a decent night's kip. I should have known given the earplugs on the bedside cabinet!
Perfect place to stay as I was attending a wedding near by. Staff couldn’t be any more helpful than they were.

All good for a short stay
Just an excellent place to pitch up, and with a bar downstairs that was serving food was perfect. Ideally li ated in morthallertons high street, staff were friendly and it was a very relaxing place too. Room was perfect, and so comfortable.
Thanks to Lauren, when we checked in computer system had failed she went above and beyond to accommodate our room request. Also rest of staff who made our stay enjoyable. We will return soon

The rooms face out onto a main street. There are deliveries made during the night to businesses and you can hear everything. They provide earplugs in the room, but you can hear & feel everything.
Lovely pub on the main street of Northallerton. Nice fish shop to the rear Car park to the back of the hotel Staff very helpful and friendly

Clean comfortable rooms
Noisy people in the two rooms above us until 3am, drinking laughing and slamming doors then people leaving for work slamming doors at 6.20am unfortunately myself and 3 children had little sleep. Long drive home to Scotland this morning. Had there been a 24hr reception possibly they could have been spoken to.
Clean . Great location . Comfy bed. Large room.
Too hot. Winter weight duvet on the bed, too much traffic noise from the high Street to sleep with the window open. The fan in the room did help. There was someone in the room above who never stopped walking on the creaky floorboards between 8 and 11pm. . So noisy. Worst nights sleep I've had for ages, and I stay away a lot with work.
Ideal location in middle of the high street. Large rooms, light and tastefully decorated.
There was nothing not to like
Stayed here before such a lovely hotel.

A lovely pub in the heart of Northallerton. Shops, bars and restaurants on the main street. Free parking too at the rear of the property

Room 11 was in in alley way and you could hear everything very little sleep

Peaple outside the b n b.. constantly arguing all night until 4 am .. totally ridiculous.. never understand anything like it . Disgraceful behaviour.

It was a hot day and no fan in room
Great welcome, efficiently checked in and helped to room (up several flights of stairs! Comfortable, clean room. Plenty of parking at sister hotel close by.
Centre of town very noisy on Saturday night...seemed like all night! Ear plugs provided! Nothing the hotel could do about noise.
Windows opened fully so you could cool the room down in the evening, as it was a very hot day. Big comfy bed, good water pressure in the shower, desk for work. Tea and coffee in the room. Plenty of plug sockets. Very convenient location for me.
Lamps were very dusty and there was a glade plug in air freshener which I'm not a fan of. Curtains didn't completely block light and it would be good to have some kind of privacy blinds/net curtain as well so you can have natural light without being visible to the high street.
Location and staff excellent 👌
Floors uneven , minor niggle but something to be aware of in what i think is an old building
We had a cooked breakfast in the Golden lion - well priced We ate fish and chips in the bar all very nice Liked central location Friendly helpful staff Room and en-suite well set out and well supplied tea and coffee etc
Generally all areas very clean and room had every I needed just let down by a small detail -the rope bedside lamps which were very furry with grey fluff- need a vacuum or wipeable lamps?
The big bed. The spacious room. The central location in Northallerton and the lovely lady who gave us our room keys
Nothing
Room very spacious and comfortable
Breakfast was served in the sister hotel and we were given incorrect information about breakfast times. We turned up 5 mins after breakfast had finished and we were offered what was left, which had clearly been left there for a considerable period of time.
The bed looked clean and comfortable.
The room was right at the very top of the building,it was stifling hot windows wide open and looked out over the outside drinking area,so very noisy and the place was open until 1am ! We actually gave it up and drove home. That was a waste of £100 !!!
Bed was comfortable, large room
Too hot, noisy through the night with people shouting outside
Location & the rooms was nice
Located right in the centre of Northallerton, friendly staff and well stocked bar. over all it was also very quiet. The room was very large and the bed was exceptionally comfortable
we thought breakfast was included
breakfast
Comfortable beds Location in town
Very small bathroom No view from room Breakfast not included No water or biscuits in room
Great spot
View of yellow wall and the bathroom very small
Great location and nice room, good value.
Breakfast, if you wanted it, is in the main hotel - The Golden Lion. Unfortunately the hotel doors were locked and I had to knock on the window to be let in. It was gloomy inside and really not worth the bother with plenty of alternatives on the High Street. My room was on the High Street and could be quite noisy during the night - they do provide ear plugs!
The room facing the High Street was somewhat noisy at times.
Clean, comfortable accommodation. Central location.
Clean and convenient
People walking around on the floor above our room was very noisy. You could hear every footstep
Convienence of facilities on site ie: Parking, Location, Bar, Food.
We were allocated Room 11, should have forseen problem with noise as Hotel supplied ear plugs. Room 11 above Bar which with music stayed open till early hours, Room also adjacent to alley where many loud and disruptive persons passing. Did not get alot of sleep as stayed over the weekend.
We liked the room. It was good value for money,it was clean and warm. Had everything we needed. The bed was comfy, maybe a little soft but that is just a personal preference. We had a meal of calamari and small fish and chips, was absolutely great value for money, well cooked and I mean it was well executed. And the mushy peas were brilliant.
The shower tray needs unblocking, it drains very slowly. I did clean it out a bit but needs looking at.
Lovely hotel with large rooms and very clean. Ideal central location close to restaurants and pubs
Lovely stay , beautiful property
Location and ease of check in. It was comfortable and lovely to return for another stay.
Steps - that’s all.
Clean & modern
Noisy above the passage from car park through to the high street until about 9pm then ok

Room was bigger than expected, facilities were excellent ( ie tea/ coffee, iron hairdryet) cleaners were lovely and kept our room spotless
Only 1 thing tbh - the shower cubicle was a little on the small side
No breakfast
Noise out the back.
Room clean and tidy ,good location.
Price of breakfast at the lion ,to dear now always had breakfast on every visit(£10).
Nice big room and bed. Very clean. Staff were lovely.
Nothing.
Katch do not do a breakfast so we went to the sister hotel The Golden Lion on the 1st morning and the breakfast wasn't that good. Crunchy Nut Cornflakes were out of date/stale. The poached egg was greasy! on the second morning we went to South Side cafe where the bacon roll and coffee were much better for value and taste.
The 1st night was extremely hot and balmy but the air fan we had was totally useless unless you were an inch from it! I asked to have the fan exchanged but they never had any spares!! The room was nice but the noise at 5.00 am from the market setting up was extreme. I know there was ear plugs supplied but I cant use these
Nothing to dislike .room staff friendly and helpful..nice spacious room .armchair would have been nice .definitely will return
V easy check in despite our request for check-in to be brought forward n hour as we had to be at a wedding for 2 pm...
Bit busy at night..we got back from the wedding at about 11 pm (Saturday night) and at 2,or 3 am young revellers still shouting at each other outside!
Fab location, great room and staff very friendly.
Private entrance and exit so helpful for through the night and lovely restaurant
Noisy from the street but earplugs provided
Room was nice and big. Staff really friendly. Very clean. Only floorboards from upstairs creaked and very noisy.
Floor boards from upstairs room creaked and really noisy when they moved about.

Nothing really.
Didn't have breakfast so can't give an opinion, check in i had to wait in a busy pub while people where served. Bit awkward
I dont like cleaners going in my room when I have all my personal stuff there. I was only there for 2 nights. there was nothing to hang on the door to say do not enter. Cleaners came in. Personal preference but hate it.
Great space, nice and roomy, great food, only a short bus ride to and from the Coast to Coast hiking trail
Nothing
Nice location
Our room was next to the alleyway Room 5 and we had people talking loudly under our single glazed window until 4am. Can not remember the last time I hade such a bad sleep. It was the same both nights
Great location, right on the town centre high street. Clean and comfortable

Great place to stay. The staff and location are excellent and the room was very clean and comfortable.
All good
Nice Fish and Chips for dinner.
Steep Stairs. Limited parking on site.
The room was clean and comfortable, and a decent size with plenty of storage for luggage and clothes.
We stopped here for a rest on a long drive from Scotland south. Initially we struggled to park (parking is actually down the road at the sister hotel, only space for 5-6 cars on site). At check in we were met with comments from the staff about how noisy the room was, 'don't expect to sleep much' and 'I hope you don't want an early night'. When we got into the room it was evident that she was correct, there was noise from the bar below and the corridor outside. Not unmanageable but enough to disturb. Evidently the management knew about these issues as they had provided ear plugs in the room! When we raised these issues with them we were generally dismissed. So rather than endure a disturbed night before a long drive we decided to abandon and booked a room in a local premier inn instead. In hindsight perhaps it was our mistake booking a town centre hotel but it was not really clear from the listing that they are aiming at the night life crowd and a place to crash after a party.

High st location was really good. Restaurant food and service and bar were fabulous
Bedroom with single glazed windows was a bit noisy. Bins being emptied at 4am etc The bed was 2 singles together which made a gap in the middle but all in all it was fine. Big, spacious room was very comfortable
De ligging, in het centrum van het plaatsje. Het restaurant was ook prima.

Excellent central position
We didn't have breakfast, but were told at the sister hotel that it would be served there when we attended a gig the night of our stay. Everyone was extremely friendly and straight-forward. The mattress was super comfortable and it was extremely clean. Shower worked well etc.
This is not anyone's fault really, but I think a warning or rethink of the room allocation based on the situation would have been a good idea. The May fair was going on and the room was litterally vibrating when we arrived. The very kind woman who gave me the key and explained very well where parking and the room was, said it would be quiet by 9pm, which was fine, but we didn't quite take in the level of volume and vibration in the room. We had a sense of humour about it, but it just meant that we didn't spend any time in the room at all except to sleep there. As the weather was a bit bad, it would have been nice to have a place to hang out for some of the time before we went to dinner and the gig at the sister hotel. I think, as a former hotel owner, I would have explained the situation in advance and then it is up to the booker if it is okay or not?
Staff were excellent/ room was great
Room was a little hot but who could predict 25 degrees outside
