Shamrock Lodge Hotel

Friendly staff - nice room- quiet area - nice breakfast

Not much. A little pricey though

Big and clean room. Breakfast was good.

Nothing

Everything. Staff, rooms, food, the quality of everything is just above and beyond.

Nice location 10 minutes walk from the town center

Room was not clean, i.e. the chairs were not clean and mold in the wardrobe. Bathroom fan was extremely noisy. Iron was dirty and nearly damaged my cloths. Breakfast was OK but out of basic items like bananas early in service, scrambled eggs were very poor, and service was slow. Staff were ok but some of the receptionists were not that enthusiastic to help.

The hotel exceeded our expectations. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and taken care of. We arrived after 9 p.m., and even though the kitchen had just closed, they generously offered to make us something to eat, which we really appreciated. The breakfast was delicious, and our apartment was huge, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We had such a great experience and would definitely stay here again. Wonderful hotel and truly great staff!

One of the rooms smelled a bit like cigarette smoke.

Staff brilliant

Staff were friendly and the hotel was clean and efficient

Nothing

Charming, big rooms and apartments. Staff were really friendly.

Luxueux et confortable de grandes chambres spacieuses

Nice looking hotel inside and out. If you’re looking for a room with a view you will be disappointed- however the hotel is very clean, spacious with an excellent car park, we had 8 motorbikes with us. Hotel seemed very quiet during the night which we really wanted and appreciated. The rooms were big, very comfortable and pretty well equipped. The breakfast was very good, a buffet style. Coffee machine made nice coffee. The service at breakfast from all staff was excellent 👍 The location is excellent for a stay in Athlone - walking distance to anywhere in the town.

Check in staff could have been more pleasant, seemed a bit indifferent to guests.

2nd stay here….a great location near the centre of town with plenty of parking. Rooms are nice and spacey with really comfy beds.

Nothing, all good.

Location

Tv did not work. Tub shower very slippery. Could not have light on in bathroom without loud fan.

Room is spacious. Breakfast is really good.

No electric outlet bedside to charge phone

Home from homr

Our room was a bit noisy at the back of the hotel ..when the staff were cleaning up after a function

Very good

Very good locatoon

Location

Requires updating and a better service at Breakfast.

Room was spacious and comfortable.

The room had a poor outlook onto a service yard. Lorries used the yard in the night and we were woken up by the reversing alarm and subsequent loading/unloading sounds. A bit later another lorry came in loading beer barrels. Additionally, the room was subject to continuous irregular knocking noises through out the night. My husband could not sleep and was exhausted before he began the 12 hr drive home. The room was also poorly lit, by natural light and artificial. The lack of adequate light in the evening was particularly frustrating.

Great staff, great breakfast.

I love the staff they were so helpful, the food was lovely

Could not say a bad word about it

Excellent as always

A lovely hotel we were upgraded at check In. The room was fabulous. The staff and service were impeccable. Great breakfast selection. Just a nice stroll into the town. We will definitely return!

Great reception Friendly bar staff Lovely food and drink Beautiful room Mighty experience

Very large room, nice resturant, great shower, friendly staff. Walking distance to the town and Seans bar. Quiet rooms.

Great location.. Staff really helpful. Really Clean. Great Food

Absolutely Nothing Wrong with this HOTEL

Lovely big beds with nice linen

No water in rooms

The breakfast was bland

The meeting room had no windows and the group in the room next door were very noisy

The staff and family

Hotel was warm and clean staff were helpful and friendly short walk from athlone town food was great no late night room service but we were able to get food delivered quite late value for money if I was staying in athlone again would choose the hotel for sure 😀

Location good

Quality and choice for breakfast was not very good especially for people who don’t want to have a fry - no cheese, ham, granola and very small choice of pastries.

Staff excellent. Service excellent .

I’m single mum with 3 children away for the night. There was not television in our apartment. Telly was needed . We could have watched a film when we home after having dinner in your lovely restaurant.

Everything

Nothing to dislike

Location was a little outside of town which was nice; however, lots of parties made for a noisy experience.

Our room location was directly above the main entrance and quite loud.

Breakfast was good.

Can`t think of any.

Super großes sauberes Zimmer

Personal war zeitweise eingebildet

Excellent, clean and friendly

The whole experience.. such friendly staff.. spotless clean.. beautiful breakfast.. outstanding.... Thanks for a lovely stay..

Nothing..

I went with my mother my 7 year old son and 4 year old niece , we had suxh an amazing stay ! The room was lovely we had loads of space, the staff were all so friendly and the food was delicious! We will definitely be back

The hotel was very clean, the room was comfortable and as it was a warm night we appreciated that they had put a fan in the room on arrival. There were events happening in the bar etc but the room was very quiet. Breakfast was excellent. For the price I was very impressed.

Nice place on its own grounds 10 mins to town. Room was good comfy and breakfast was buffet style and good .safe free parking for the motorbike.

Everything it's just a fabulous place to stay

Nothing

Location and food

Not clean, bath dirty. Items left under cushion in corner chair in room.

Excellent sized room, facilities and great breakfast

The additional bed was slightly uncomfortable

The hotel had a real family feel to it. All staff were exceptional and went out of their way to help.

The rooms were a little dated.

The staff couldn't do enough for us. They were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back.

The hotel was very clean and classy. We had the king size bed which was huge. The location is a short walk to the river and Sean's Bar

Het bed was prima. Goede douche.

Sfeerloos hotel en omgeving. Onvriendelijke receptioniste. Water in wastafel liep niet weg.

The room size was bigger than expected, the staff were excellent, location great.

N/A

Good location, great food, very friendly staff

Expensive for one night, cracked & chipped paintwork in some areas, spotted cobwebs in bar & function room…could do with freshening up

Grande chambre spacieuse tout confort

Apartments were excellent spacious and clean and peaceful very convenient to everything

No problems with anything

Clean comfy friendly

Hotel overall very dirty rooms were dusty bathroom was dirty hotel needs a revamp

The receptionist was very welcoming and natural. Our room was large. There was a large car park.

The hotel was cavernous and more appropriate for large events than for a private stay. The bistro and breakfast room were arranged like a canteen with no atmosphere. Several of the staff seemed uninterested.

Beautiful hotel, beautiful room, clean, staff very nice, fire alarm worked (there was a small fire outside in the middle of the night).

Very good no complaints

Tutto

Very enjoyable stay. Lorna on the front desk was exceptionally welcoming and helpful!
