OYO Eagle House Hotel, St Leonards Hastings

Beautiful building and site. Clean and very pleasant, helpful staff. Roomy bedroom.

The bed was very uncomfortable (room 2), with a big dip in it. We had to turn the mattress round to sleep better the 2nd night. Small breakfast choice, and poor quality apple juice, bread and coffee, and no oat milk.

The night manager didn’t seem pleased to see us, no smile, no response to an attempt at small talk. Just basics telling us what to do like a robot.

It was clean the staff were friendly there was parking at the property the rooms had everything you needed especially at this price point. Our room had a comfortable bed and the breakfast was good with time slot booking and excellent service. The location was very convenient by car for all the locations we wanted to visit. Train station right across the road a the bottom of the hill easy walk. Beach down the road walking distance.

The last night was staff karaoke/ training session (which is a great idea) but was loud right above our room they did stop at 10.30 pm and are only happen every few months. However we would stay again especially at this price point mid week.

Good location and on site parking

The hotel is a little run down, the room wasn't very clean. No bath mat in the bathroom. Just generally looked like it needed an upgrade. I have stayed in much nicer hotels for a similar price.

We loved this place. The staff is very helpful. They make our stay comfortable. The location is very good. Just 7 mins away from train station. Breakfast was good. The place is value to money.

. The room was okay, the bed sheet had a stain on it, limited tea options, small bathroom, low water pressure, no plugs around desk, had to use the television plug in order to work. Staff had headphones in when we checked in and didn't acknowledge me at first. Overall hotel looked quite rundown. Also 25£ for an extra hour late check out seems a bit steep.

Great staff and location, bedsheets, reasonable breakfast and good parking (parking available on street if full).

Bedroom carpets with multiple stains, pealing wallpaper, no place to hang towel in the separate toilet, in summary the place needs a refurbishment/re-decorating soon.

The location was near a bus stop so easy transport, there was on sight parking and was close to the seafront.

Walls are very thin so was quite disturbed throughout the night and the facilities are slightly cheaper meaning there is less comfort.

i liked the location and the front desk attendant was extremely helpful and nice.

the room was shoddy, uncomfortable. there were no shears on the windows in the room I was given, but they had shears in some of the other rooms. the bed was soft and saggy. the room smelled of cigarette smoke. the property is run down. I found communications online with the property to be unsatisfactory and confusing

Nothing really to complain about

Location is good in terms of the distance to the sea but quite a walk to Hastngs main attractions and town centre. The room was very clean and spacious but there was no hooks to put a towel in the bathroom. Staff was very helpful and friendly, but the breakfast could be better quality and bit bigger portions. Overall very pleasant stay and good value for money.

We had a room on top floor. If you have more luggage or older guest may find it difficult as there is no lift.

That there were no warning sign about rocks close to shore. If i had known l could have avoided hurting my leg. The beach right next to where we were sun bathing had no rocks and lf l had known l would have gone swiming from there right away.

Whilst our room was classed as a superior room. Some of the facilities especially in the bathroom were a little tired. Mirror missing, heated towel rail was rusty.

It’s near the sea front and had available parking but limited. Breakfast is good but only serves orange juice and basics.

We could hear a child running up and down the room above us, although it says it’s a strict rule to stay quiet after 10/11pm…. But this was very late at night and very early in the morning so didn’t get much sleep.

Der Aufenthalt war sehr angenehm. Die Wohnung ist für zwei Personen großzügig geschnitten und sehr gut ausgestattet. Besonders die Küche bietet alles, was man für einen Aufenthalt braucht. Der Strand ist bequem zu Fuß erreichbar und auch der Parkplatz direkt vor dem Haus ist sehr praktisch. Der Vermieter ist sehr nett und bei Fragen über WhatsApp schnell und unkompliziert erreichbar. Insgesamt haben wir uns sehr wohlgefühlt und würden die Unterkunft weiterempfehlen.

Als kleinen Verbesserungsvorschlag könnten die Silikonfugen im Bad einmal gründlich gereinigt bzw. bei Bedarf erneuert werden.

Unfortunately, we had a nightmare night. There was a couple upstairs who argued loudly throughout the night, shouting, banging things and stomping on the floor. Even with earplugs, we could hear them as if they were in our room, and we honestly felt scared. The guy at reception listened to our complaints and tried to get them to stop after we informed him of the problem twice, but with little success. Obviously, it is not entirely the property’s responsibility if some guests are inconsiderate, but the fact that the walls are so thin certainly does not help. We could also hear the pipes every time someone used the water, and our beds were extremely noisy whenever we made even the slightest movement (as well as being uncomfortable). When we arrived, the car park was full, so we had to park on the street. The coffee at breakfast was instant coffee from a sachet. Having read the responses to both recent and older reviews on this and other platforms, it seems that the management responds with standardised replies without ever actually taking any concrete steps to address the problems that guests have been complaining about for a long time.

Not much to be honest

To hilly, carpets were stained, middle sash window painted closed, tv to small for the size of room. Dining room with sticky floors. Had to ask to refill orange juice

It's only about 5 - 10 minute walk to St Leonard's Warrior Square train station, my room was at front of the hotel and so wake up open the curtains with a view of sea. The showers are quite cosy, but did have good range of temperatures if your wanting hot or very cold and somewhere in the middle aswell.

The bar only two taps on there, I didn't drink at bar anyway and I didn't looked very stacked at all. The beds were very stiff, I don't if it's just me and any hotel bed I'm comfy with.

It was a good stay, short and sweet. Overall I had a lovely experience there.

As it was a boiling hot time it would have been nice if there had been a fan in the room. Even a little one would have been sufficient.

There is no aircon (very hot during a heatwave) and the pillows were pretty old. Also very thin walls so you do hear the neighbour snoring if unlucky

They had a beautiful garden that we enjoyed but no lights in the evening and a rotting wooden staircase to it. Such a shame they didn’t make more of it

Room was very dusty and dirty, stains on most walls and carpet, wallpaper coming off in places, fan was covered in dust, bed was lumpy, bathroom radiator had rust all over it, bin also had rust all over it, towels were old and stained,lights above mirror didn't work, Breakfast was basic, no coffee that I could see available, milk was at room temperature bread and jams had no covers to keep the flies off list is endless. kerb appeal not that great.

Large room with tea & coffee making facilities, en suite bathroom with a good shower, staff were friendly and well organised, free on-site & on-street parking, not far from the seafront.

Some of the paintwork in our room was a bit tired, the toilet was not shutting off properly. breakfast was a bit restricted (e.g. limited choice of cereals, bread, no fresh fruit, etc.).

The room was very sparse, no tea spoons or glasses no carpet laminated floors the beds were very noisy and very soft the pillows well if you could call them pillows very thin. The breakfast was not to bad but dry no real taste also toilet seat very dirty my wife had to clean it best she could

Rooms need glasses teaspoons and at least 4 tea bags and coffee. serviets cut into two very small they seem to cut costs as best they can seem very stingy even at breakfast no fruit or yogerts also food quite dry as if under a lamp to keep warm

Both receptionists were polite and friendly. The room was a good size and I paid for a single and had a double bed. The hotel was easy walking distance from shops, restaurants and the sea front. There is onsite parking available.

The property and room, including bathroom was in dire need of a refurbishment, The room was very basic, the bed side lamps didn't work, the bathroom mirror light wouldn't turn off once I switched it on! There was an unpleasant drain smell from the bathroom. The shower was underpowered, very low water pressure and almost not worth standing under. The breakfast really was not great. I'd have preferred to go to a cafe. Overpriced at £169 for one night, I've experienced much better

La situació a St Leonards prop de la platja. L’habitació és gran. El personal correcte.

Els llits no són còmodes, matalassos de motlles. El terra de les zones comuns brut, especialment al menjador.

Location - few minutes walk from Seafront plus parking on site. Booked Garden room which had lovely access to our own terrace & large communal garden straight from our room. The attention service from the staff was very good and the free breakfast was excellent even though there was a side choice the staff were happy to provide us with anything we requested even if it wasn’t on the menu✅

The shower over the bath had a very short hose therefore to lie to stand under had to use as a hand shower bit outdated. The bathroom itself was extremely large a freestanding shower could be installed as well as having the existing bath (just a thought) the only other thing was the lack of plug or USB sockets especially around bed where we would normally charge our phones etc.

Nice and clean with a couple of areas that could do with a lick of paint and some attention. Mostly around the widows where out of 3 only one would stay open. The staff were very helpful and the food excellent including the Philippino food which I tried for the first time. The bed and linen was comfy and clean. Car parking on site is a bonus.

The shower water was barely warm at 8:30 in the morning. Ok in the present heatwave but ought to be hotter.

The hotel provided good breakfast and the staff were friendly. The hotel is just up the road from Hastings Beach, which I enjoyed during the heatwave.

The beds downstairs were lumpy. I asked the staff to replace the mattress, and they ordered a new one, and in the meantime, moved me to a different room. The bed in the new room is also a bit lumpy but not as bad. Also, Rooms 3 and 4 are under the dining room and so can get noisy in the morning.

My room was amazing, had direct access so the garden. The bed was comfy and the shower was hot and had goo pressure. The room was big and even had the most powerful fan i ever experienced. The staff were kind to keep my bag after my check out times. They were wonderful.

The room was on 2nd floor. (no lift) not a problem for us). it was clean and adequate with a small en suite room with shower & toilet. Perhaps could be considered as in need of a bit of TLC but perfectly adequate for a short stay. Bed was comfortable enough (No beds as good as your own is it) and good to see they provided a large fan to help keep a bit cooler as the weather was so hot. There was no noise at all, no doors slamming and we had a peaceful night. Breakfast consisted of a help yourself, non cooked start of toast or cereals with fruit juice and coffee / tea etc. Cooked breakfast order taken by staff and had a fair choice. I just had bacon and 2 eggs and a sausage, sausage was typical B&B standard and not the best you can buy but this is a budget hotel so cant complain. Staff we met were helpful, had a smile, allowed us to park our vehicle prior to check in time and answered all questions we had re room accessibility, breakfast times etc.

As this is a budget hotel we weren't expecting the ritz and to be fair for our one night stay it served our purpose and we were perfectly happy with the hotel. Overall its hard to criticise

The hotel had all we wanted. A restaurant serving very interesting food, a lovely garden, a bar and a quiet location. The room was clean and spacious with a decent bathroom. Mid sized TV on which to watch the world Cup which was great. It also has parking and is very good value.

The hard floors in the rooms meant you could hear people above you moving around.

No staff at bar was kept waiting for 15 mins , water pressure on shower was awful. Beds were so uncomfortable. Pillows also so uncomfortable towels were so tatty and some had holes in them room wasn't very nice and had a horrible smell.
