Reviewed Sep 11, 2026This is a good old hotel. Well modernised. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We had a nice room. The hotel is very near the seafront.
Unfortunately the road outside the hotel was very busy and noisey all night. We only had a one night stay so cannot say if this is normal or not. It is a decent trekk along the seafront to the harbourside

Reviewed Sep 11, 2026The owner and all the staff were very attentive and polite. The evening meal was delicious and for breakfast there was a bowl of freshly prepared fruit followed by a good cooked full English. Other additions available if you desired.

Unfortunate to have guests above us who at early hours of the morning very late at night were very heavy footed dropping things and talking which interrupted sleep and shower tricky to handle.

We had problems with the shower being too cold or too hot, and the toilet lid would not stay up.

Smell of sewage in the bathroom but this is very common in UK due to wetness and humidity. You do not sleep in the bathroom so easy to digest, especially when you stay one or two nights.

Smashing location for restaurants, beach and close proximity to Folkstone and Hythe. Bus stop right outside if required. We drive there and don't get back in our car until it's time to go home - perfect!
The traffic at night but that can not be helped. OK once Windows are shut, if it's hot make sure you have a fan.

Reviewed Jun 25, 2026Zeer vriendelijke en gastvrije medewerkers. We hadden een mooie, ruime kamer, met 2 grote bedden, een ruime badkamer en zelfs een keukentje. Uitzicht aan twee kanten, 1 kant zicht op zee. Gratis parkeren op eigen parkeerterrein. Heerlijk Full English ontbijt, met daarnaast verse fruitsalade, sap, yoghurt, cereals. Ideaal als locatie dichtbij de Eurotunnel. We komen graag nog eens terug!

Reviewed Apr 28, 2026Owners and hotel were really nice. Comfortable bed and easy to get to places via the bus stops outside if you're not driving.
Our sleep was disrupted by noisy guests coming back after 12am and making noise for over an hour. I did call management after an hour as I'd had enough but there was still noise going on after that. Hotels wonder why they are losing business to Airbnb, unfortunately this is why for us, such a shame.

Reviewed Oct 30, 2025Historisches Ambiente in altem englischen Stil in guter Lage. Der Pub im Erdgeschoss bietet eine nette Aufenthaltsmöglichkeit am Abend. Privatparkplätze sind vorhanden.
Die Parkplätze sind nicht einfach zu erreichen, etwas eng. Die Eigentümer werden ihren Grund dafür haben, aber wir fanden die häufigen Hinweise auf Kosten, die im Falle von diversem Fehlverhalten fällig werden, als wenig gastfreundlich.

Reviewed Sep 14, 2025Friendly, the room was spacious, really comfortable and it had a nice view, had fresh air and nice towels, even an alarm. Fortunately even had the hair drier and instant coffee (tea and other things) for the morning.
Maybe little downside is that it is pretty pricey BUT might be worth it, I dont work in hotels so I am pretty ignorant on the costs. Also there was the bathroom door not closing too well but might have been just my room, overall was nice
