L’emplacement est top, à côté de la gare et de la vieille ville. La chambre est relativement spacieuse et tout était très propre.

L’odeur de la pizzeria d’en bas d’en la chambre, le bruit de la rue passante (chambre sans clim, donc obligé de laisser la fenêtre ouverte car le ventilateur fait un bruit pas possible), savon pour le corps inexistant dans la salle de bain de notre arrivée jusqu’au départ alors que nous l’avions signalé à la réception (il n’y avait pas non plus de papier WC !), serviette de bain pour une personne alors que nous étions deux, tasses de café et capsules pas remplacées durant les 4 jours, salle de bain sans aucune place pour poser ses affaires de toilette… Quand on paie + de 1’300 balles pour 3 nuits, on s’attend quand-même à un minimum de service. Et là, c’était la cata. Je ne parlerai pas de la place de parking qu’on a payé en supplément, pour laquelle le personnel s’est bien gardé de préciser avant qu’on paie qu’il fallait déplacer notre véhicule à la gare au beau milieu de notre séjour (ok, sans supplément, mais une contrainte en plus tout de même…)

A great hotel just a short walking distance from the train station. Easy to get anywhere in town. 5 mins to the old town and Chapel bridge. Staff helpful and friendly. Room was very nice

I know unusual but it was extremely hot. I did not expect aircon but a fan would have been good. This is probably rarely an issue and would not stop me coming back

No funcionaba el único ascensor y tuvimos que estar dos días subiendo y bajando 5 pisos por las escaleras (tengo 63 años😰) y no tuvieron la deferencia de hacernos un descuento o algún detalle 😤😤😤. O sea 270 euros por día y como si fuera una pensión de mala muerte. Y el ascensor sin medidas europeas: cuando sube o baja ves la pared del hueco… Es muy peligroso. Además, de madrugada sonó la alarma de incendios y tuvimos que bajar las 5 plantas a todo meter y media hora después, sin darnos explicaciones nos dijeron que ya podíamos subir…😤😤😤

The location and breakfast were great.

The rooms were too hot, even when outside temperature decreased to 14°C, it was impossible to sleep well even with opened windows. The bar below rooms worked until 2:30 AM, so sleeping with windows open felt as you slept in the bar (you could hear people laughing, talking).

Location- excellent, 2 minutes walk from train station.

The Hotel was very good. the staff was very friendly. The hotel is very very close to train station. it makes travel very comfortable. The rooms are spacious.

The Hotel was very good. However the hotel does not have any A/C, going to this hotel in August hot weather was not comfortable. The Hotel provides 2 fans however they are very small and cannot cool down the room, I wish the hotel can provide bigger fans. There was lot of noise from back all the restaurant workers made noise late night.

Hot but no AC which is typical for Switzerland hotels. Not the property’s fault. They gave me a new fan the 2nd night which helped.

Sehr lärmig im Innenhof bis morgens um 4.00 Uhr wurde Abfall und Glas verräumt. Der Raum war viel Zeit und konnte nicht richtig belüftet werden.

Three of us stayed for five nights. We had all stayed there ten year's earlier and, with no bad memories, were happy to rebook. The biggest attraction of the Alpina is its location, close to the railway station and the jetties for Lake Luzern boat services. The rates also are economical for central Luzern. Apart from those positives, we were not impressed on this latest visit. While matters were not helped by our stay being in the middle of a heatwave, and the hotel being without a central air conditioning system, there were other factors which were off-putting. The double room was of a fair size, but the provision of a portable air conditioning unit, professionally vented out of a window, made it impossible to get in or out of bed on that side. The wall of the bathroom was partly of glass and the door was sliding glass. This meant that using the bathroom at night always disturbed the other person with the light coming on. The bathroom was otherwise fine for its purpose. By contrast, there was no door to the bathroom area of the single room. which much irritated our single friend, who said it made him feel like he was in a prison cell. With no air conditioning, this room was very hot. Breakfast was in the nearby Hotel Monopol, where the choices and quality were satisfactory. Our room was not cleaned on one day. Reporting this elicited an apology and a bowl of fruit left the following afternoon - a nice gesture in the circumstances. With one exception, the staff were professional and pleasant. This is not an awful hotel and is worth considering if your budget is tight and you want/need centrally located accommodation. But it comes with pitfalls.

All three of us, one couple and one single, had stayed at the Alpina before. While memories had faded in the intervening years, we remembered nothing to put us off. The location is great for the railway station, jetties for the lake boats and for the city generally. For Luzern, the prices are at economy level, but there are reasons for this.

The double room was adequate in size. The bathroom had a sliding glass door and a wall partly built of glass, the effect of which was to make it impossible to visit the bathroom in the night without disturbing one's partner. Our friend in the single had an en suite room, but no door to the bathroom. He said it felt somewhat like a prison cell because of this. We were staying during a heatwave. The double room had a portable air conditioner but the exhaust from this was routed out through a window, making it impossible to get in and out of bed on that side. Most of the staff were at least pleasant but one was surly and thoughtless.

The location is excellent. The amenities are minimal - no air conditioning, no minifridge in room, no minisafe. Had a room on the fifth floor and the day that we were to check out the sole elevator was not working. No offer by the hotel to help with bags. Did I mention the no air conditioning? Nice to work up a good sweat as you check out and start a trip to another Swiss city during the summer. I will not be booking with this hotel again.

The Location was really great.

We came back to our room one day and the door was left wide open by the cleaning staff. That has never happened to us anywhere. Scary and maddening. Despite the presence of a window AC unit in the room with the bunks, the rooms were hot. The room we had did not compare to the rooms that others in our group had in terms of decor.

This is a well located, clean hotel that delivers on its promises and description.

It was super close to train station and lake docks. It was clean.

My booking said I would have either a balcony or window opening on quiet court yard. Our room was neither. No a/c so it was very hot and window opened to the street above pizza place and bar with street tables and a big party very loud every night until 2 am. Had to keep window open because of heat. Also there were multiple trip hazards due to age of building and renovations. They tried to upgrade with fancy innovations but just made everything harder to use. Light switches were horrible. Would only recommend for Gen X ers who could figure out the systems and simply party all night with the crowd.

Hotter temp inside the room than outside, 2 pitiful fans, no cold drinks on site. Adjoining businesses dumped trash and empty bottles late at night and ran a debris blower at 6 am!

No AC and it was in the 90’s during our stay, plus when you need windows open it is very noisy all night with traffic and people partying.

The location near to the station was great and within walking distance to the lake. However the hotel is located in a parts area with bars and restaurants. Especially on the weekend it gets very noisy during the evening until late night. Rooms do not have an air con and the fan they put in the room caused more heat than it cooled down. We tried to sleep with open windows but no chance with all the noise until 4 am. We barely slept. The bathroom was spacious and with a nice shower but the cleaning was poorly done. The towels had dark hairs in it which was disgusting. Breakfast was okay but as the breakfast room is shared with guests of the Hotel Monopol you have to go early to have a relaxing start in the day as there are not enough tables. I guess it’s nice staying there outside of the summer months but step away from a booking during summer if you don’t like to be sleep in a loud oven. Hotel should think of finding solutions which don’t contain old and poorly working fans.

It was very hot when we stayed here but there is no air-conditioning, not even a fridge for cold drinks! The room had two vertical fan units which made no difference in colloing the room at all, the room temperatures were absolutely intolerable to sleep in! The lighting controls were quite different and impossible to work out. There was no way to increase the ventilation in the room, given its city location. An open window created a lot of city noise. There was no where in the small bathroom to place anything on a shelf; the towel rail was behind the shower door, difficult to reach after a shower. Two very large chairs took up valuable space in the room which was in any case short of space to move around. There is no lounge, bar or dining room in the hotel, For breakfast it was required to go to a very plush hotel next door, which was the only good thing about the hotel experience. We were advised we had been uograded to the room we were in, goodness knows what the other room would have been like. We would NEVER stay there again for sure.

Very cute hotel in the middle of the city / all the attractions. Really well located. 4 mins walking from main train station, cute neighborhood, right next to the main bridge and old town. Can do everything walking. The hotel room is cute, not noisy and staff was very friendly

The room is a bit small, and there isn't enough space to open two large suitcases. It got very noisy outside the hotel starting at 7am due to ongoing construction. Even though the hotel provided earplugs, they didn't help much

The place has no air conditioning and the room was extremely hot and had low water pressure with a tub shower. The gentleman working the front desk was very good and helped immensely with an otherwise poor experience.

The room had a fantastic location near the city center and the train station. The room was nicely decorated with a comfortable bed.

This is probably not a problem generally, but we were there during hot weather. There is no AC, so the room was uncomfortably hot. To make matters worse, there was a loud group in the parking lot yelling so it was hard to sleep with the windows open.

The designer of the bathroom must be a man. Not a single place to put toiletries. The sink took up the entire counter and no additional shelf or even a hook to hang an overnight bag on. If you a large person, forget fitting in the shower. I am 130 lbs and could hardly open the door to get out.

Its convenient from the train station, and the staff are exceptionally friendly. We came early and they informed us that 1 room of 2 we have booked was ready so we checked into 1 room early. The view from the room was amazing. The room and toilet are spacious

As we were street facing, there were some noise late into the night as there is a pub downstairs. Slightly affected our sleep. Hotel provided earplugs but we werent a fan of it so we didnt use it.

Very disappointing experience. The hotel had clearly done fresh painting in the room 36 shortly before our stay, and the smell of paint/fumes was extremely strong. My son is allergic and sensitive to chemical smells, and during the night he developed breathing issues triggered by the fumes. We barely slept and spent the night worrying about his condition. Honestly, the room was not in a safe condition for guests to stay in and should never have been assigned until it was fully ventilated and odor-free. What made the experience even worse was the hotel’s response the next morning. I informed the staff about what happened, but there was no apology, no concern shown, and no effort to acknowledge the seriousness of the situation. A little empathy and responsibility would have gone a long way.

Location is convenient. Staff was friendly. Room very comfortable and very clean.

WIFI access is frustrating and limited to 1 item (!) Very old school. No lobby per say, just a desk in a tight place. Noisy on Saturday night. Sound insulation to other rooms was very poor.

Hotel Alpina was under renovation and we've received alternative accomodation (and an upgrade) at Hotel Monopol. Very comfortable suite. Awesome staff. Location was less than 30 steps from the entrance to the Lucerne train station, could not ask for better. Close to most of the attractions in town.

일단 역에서 5분 거리라 거리가 최대 장점입니다. 엘리베이터도 좁긴 하지만 있긴 있고 침대도 푹신합니다.

청소 서비스를 원하지 않는다고 했는데 외출한 사이에 청소를 해버렸어요. 청소 중에 변기솔을 변기에 놓은 채 청소를 마치고 가셔서 좀 당황스러웠고 바닥청소가 덜 된 거 같았어요.

Alpina was under construction so we were upgraded to their sister hotel Monopol. It was diagonal opposite the train station. Good size rooms. Friendly staff The bar on rooftop has best views of Lucerne
