Location
No hot breakfast
This was are 2nd visit to the moonraker hotel it has changed ownership since the last time. The meet and great was friendly our room was out the back of the hotel it was a beautiful room clean ,warm and comfortable.
On arrival after 15hrs travel and hoping to get dinner on arrival we where informed there was no chef so no food not even a slice of toast. That was disappointing 😕 also no chef in the mornings to cook breakfast only continental breakfast available at £9.50 pp it did say on booking no chef on Sundays and Mondays but we arrived on a Tuesday.but still no cooked breakfast. However we had our evening meal on the Wednesday and it was outstanding. Also there was lots of work being carried out in the gardens and car park which was not stated on booking 🤔
The staff are lovely & the rooms are cosy. It's really quiet too so you get a good nights sleep.
Staff were friendly, no faults with them.
Booked a standard room which was way too small. Upgraded £20 to a bigger room which wasn't much better. Shower took a while to get hot, there were seats outside our room so could hear people drinking when trying to relax. Resterant was closed for the evening. Breakfast was not worth £9.50, very basic. Our double was two singles pushed together and you get 1 pillow. Really disappointed for what we paid and wouldn't return.
Had a superior room. Good size room and bed. Easy parking.
Ex smokers room. Need a deep clean. It stunk of smoke.. Pillows had no guts in them. Hot water took ages to came through. What a waste if water. We had booked dinner but was cancelled without notice. Nearby boathouse pub/restaurant probably turned out to be the better option in the end. Breakfast superbly average. Not even porridge on offer.
Amazing place to stay
The noise in room 4 from the people above at 6:30 on a sunday morning. You could hear every thing, even the noise from the guests trying to clean the carpet.
Good location on the outskirts of Bradford-onAvon, very pleasant helpful staff, pretty well-tended garden, ample parking.
Poor sound insulation between floors, awful old junkshop wardrobe, restaurant not open for dinner (on a Friday in August), washbasin taps dispensed hot and very hot water rather than the more traditional hot and cold.
Lovely setting, far enough out to feel different, yet not inconvenient for Bradford-on-Avon.
All good.
Peaceful location, clean room and friendly, helpful staff.
Staff were very friendly
The room and surroundings were very tired - carpets very old and lots of marks on walls, bathroom had lots of cracks. No airconditioning. Basic tea/coffee in the room
Very pretty old property with lovely gardens. The room was quaint with lovely furniture and fittings.
It was very hot overnight but we couldn’t have the window open due to the mosquitoes and bites.
A fridge?
I liked my room and the rest of the hotel was so well kept and clean I wish I had more time there. The staff were very kind and friendly a member of staff even made me a fresh coffee. If I could make a suggestion it would be that a small refrigerator could be provided in the rooms for keeping food or drinks cold. Perhaps some travel toothpaste too as I had forgotten to get some on the way.
It was very quiet when I arrived as I arrived at 10 pm and no one was there to greet me, as a lone traveller in the countryside it would of made a difference. I struggled to find my room too.
Appreciated proper coffee & milk, not via a machine. The croissants were warm. Waitress v helpful.
No fan for room in very hot weather. No fridge in room.
Arrived Sunday evening; key waiting for me Room OK.
No staff when I arrive. No sign of any dinner, restaurant or bar. No explanation. Luckily Trowbridge has a MacDonalds on the other side. Not what I was expecting.
Beautiful house with lots of original features
Food offering wasn’t great
The hotel was in a great location and quiet. Staff were friendly. The evening meal were good and well cooked.
There were no option to have smaller portion meals on there menu. Ie smaller size pizzas.
Location
The grounds.
Pubic hair in Bath. Bed linen ripped. Tea stains on the wall.
The room was clean comfortable and spacious
Beautiful location and gardens, large, clear, quiet and comfortable rooms, lovely staff and a sense of Wiltshire magic. Will return soon!
camera spaziosa e pulita facilità di parcheggio e accesso diretto alla camera posto silenzioso possibilità di regolare il riscaldamento della camera
la colazione è scarsa e costa 9,50 sterline lo sciacquone del water non è molto efficiente
Quiet & comfortable Take dogs which is important to us Good food & very accommodating staff
Lack of hot food for breakfast maybe
Staff were exceptional. Dined at the restaurant our meals were superb. Room was large and bed very comfortable. Would recommend highly.
Comfortable bed and beautiful sheets location was good.
Our room was described as superior. Furniture was shabby- an old sofa. Bath was damaged. Musty smell in bathroom. We were expecting to stay in the Manor House instead we were in the outhouses. I slipped getting into the bath and bruised my knee. Inspite of using non slip mat it didn’t fit the bottom of the bath.
Professionalism and friendliness of staff
Advance warning about nature of room. Footstep noise from room above made for difficulty in sleeping
We stayed one night Sat/Sun in the old building (Room 14) and paid £160 for double room on a room only basis. Bed was comfortable apart from the terrible pillows. Good parking and it was close to where we needed to be. The hotel was probably charming at one time, now the part we stayed in is just very shabby and not up to modern standards. Certainly overpriced for what was provided.
Pillows were awful. Furniture old and very shabby. Wardrobe was tiny and too narrow for coat hangers. TV screen started 50% fuzzy and then resolved itself after an hour or so. Tea and coffee tray not replenished before arrival. Only one sachet of milk. I was looking forward to a full English but no hot breakfast was available. It wasn't clear whether this was because it was a Sunday morning or if it was always the case. At £9.50/person, the continental breakfast was lacking in imagination and poor value for money. Very unlikely to stay here again.
Pretty area, bed comfortable
Very small room , tiered interior. Bathroom was new but shower didn’t work properly
Very nice looking Hotel which has been renovated very well
We had high expectation on the breakfast but it had a little variation. Only some toasts and no bread, no eggs or any sausages. Some fruit and yoghurt. Very disappointed.
Breakfast was good. Hostess was very nice. Loved the view out our room.
The woman at the desk when we checked in wasn’t real friendly, not rude, but not welcoming!
Beautiful old property, charming countryside
Nothing
Cosy little room in a beautiful building. The staff were lovely.
The curtains didn’t cover the windows properly, the shower wasn’t that hot and the shower head was tiny. The tv wasn’t great either. The breakfast was ok, but there could have been some added extras such as an artisan coffees and eggs etc for an additional cost if customers require it. Next time we will skip breakfast and eat in Bradford on Avon.
Good room
The food
Lovely venue, location was very convenient. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Staff was very friendly.
Food was not great: we had dinner the first night and were not impressed. It is a shame as we had been very impressed by rooms and friendly staff.
Idyllic & lovely size room with everything we needed

Beautiful setting clean
It was cold in the room .
A charming beautifully decorated and comfortably furnished hotel
Nothing
Unique place in nice setting.
Light outside the bedroom disturbed us. Toilet door impossible to keep free from bacteria.
The superior room is quite specious with a big bed. It was warm in the room. Good lightning. The staff at the reception and at the dinner was lovely. Pizza and wine were very good.
It was the worst coffee I have ever had at the breakfast which itself was a huge disappointment. Bread, ham and cheese. That was it. Not even a tomato or cucumber or any ketchup or mayonnaise to make a proper sandwich. There were also some options for sweet breakfast with milk and corn flakes. Fruit salad was a good touch. The mattress needs replacing.
Excellent hotel very clean and great location
Disappointed the breakfast was only Continental
pleasant staff
No window blind, hence patio light shining in all night. Noise from downstairs room and no night staff in the building
Location. Excellent breakfast cooked to order
Room is very basic. No tv remote, no fan and no hand towel. Carpet very threadbare and furnishings tired.
Staff were lovely, location was good, lovely looking building. Restaurant looked very nice.
Two single beds put together, unable to run shower below very hot
We had 4 rooms and everyone of us thought they were lovely, extremely clean and very comfortable. We had our evening meal in the restaurant and it was perfect.
Brought my son with me to stay fantastic room only thing is I couldn't lock the toilet door from outside if you had small bolt at the top of the door on outside so you can lock it As he was in and out of that bathroom non stop trying to run a bath ever 5 minutes worried me may wake before me and attempt it.
The location was good. The main building was clean and pleasant.
We were in a dilapidated out building . Decor was shabby. Water leakage and stains in hall. Shower didn't work. Soap dispensers was virtually empty. Curtains wouldn't shut properly as they were partly hanging off. The price of the stay was far too much considering the state of the accommodation.
This was our second stay at Moonraker hotel. It is a great location with a traditional country house feel. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was warm and spacious with a great bathroom, a small lounge area to relax and views over farmland. This is a great place for a quiet and relaxing stay. It was also very good value. We have local family and will be back again
Nothing to mention
Historical aspect of building. Building had character
Good room Very friendly attentve staff Great log burner in lounge Good parking
Limited choice for evening meals. The food itself was very good .
Staff were friendly and very helpful
Terrible sound insulation between rooms. At first I thought our neighbours were extremely noisy, but soon realised later we were now just hearing normal quiet conversation. We had terrible sleep. The electrics were on and off with lights flickering and dimming. The room seemed overpriced, it could be the location but we have stayed nicer places for less. I spent a bit more than normal wanting to treat someone, and it turned into a bit of a disappointment instead. Also seemed expensive for a continental breakfast with no option for cooked.
Looked great on the app..great location & building
Room was not as pics when booked.room was not good.iron mark on thread bare carpet..furniture scratched and seen better days..no blind fitted & broken parts in drawers...couldn't block light out..bed felt like a 20yr old mattress..reported no blind but got a laugh as a reply with no care to offer change of room..all the above for £95...joke really.. had expensive fish and chips which came with hard peas and a passable meal
Well maintained for age comfortable bed
Beautiful location and building. Welcoming and helpful staff.
Creaky floorboards so noisey if moving around in the night - you couldn’t hear other rooms which was a plus though. Bed /pillow too soft - but that is personal choice and you can’t please all!
Location
Limited menu
The staff were very nice, the main looked lovely and the location was convenient to the train station.
The room was small, tired, the carpet was stained, the lamps flickered, the room was too hot (not easily controlled), the television had ‘lights on the screen’ so it was clearly broken. The room did not reflect the photos online.
Staff were excellent, warm and informative welcome. Dinner (pizza) in restaurant was very good. The room was clean and had everything you could need. Great pillows.
Dining room could do with a splash of colour, pictures, plants? Room starting to look tired, tiles in bathroom literally falling off the wall! Skirting/door frames need re staining/ varnishing.
Room was fine food good but limited choices. Staff were great and v helpful
Stayed one night in a 'premium' room (nos 2) that seemed to have been created out of a small barn - large room with vaulted ceiling and huge double bed on a raised platform - almost a mezzanine. Bed was comfortable but the short flight of stairs to the bed platform could be an issue for anyone with mobility issues. Bathroom was spacious and very cosy. Extremely quiet at night.
Very good location for stays in Bath and Bradford-on-Avon.
Location was convenient and peaceful
2 days before my arrival I got a call asking if I wanted to book dinner. During this conversation I was advised that no hot breakfast could be offered only continental. So we had to go out for breakfast. Not acceptable, should be clear when booking On arrival at 4pm we asked if we could get a cup of tea in the reception area-and was advised to make one in our rooms and carry it down!! The soap dispenser in the shower was completely empty and the one by the sink almost empty . Completely unacceptable especially once you’re all wet! Mattress very thin on a sprung base so didn’t sleep well. Towel rail was scaldingly hot. Dangerous. No warning signs
Lovely old building
Could hear people above talking and noisy.Had to walk outside to get to the restaurant.
The food is excellent. Congratulations to the chef. The room we had was perfect due to my disability. All the staff we met were very welcoming and efficient
The room which was exceedingly comfortable was a little sad around the edges.
Excellent staff. The room was nice and warm, the facilities were very good and the bed was very comfy. There's a dressing table with a mirror and an electrical socket close to hand and very good lighting. Iron and ironing board, hairdryer and tea and coffee facilities. Food in the restaurant was excellent but I would advise pre booking. Free parking. I would definitely use this hotel again as reasonably priced and good location.
Cast iron bath definitely needs attention. The shower pressure is good but if you have it up too high the water is then luke warm. We were in a room in the courtyard and the outside light stays on all night and shines through the glass panel of the door. This isn't a problem for me but may be for some people.
Very comfortable room. Nice and warm. Good food. Helpful staff. Plenty of parking space.
Toilet roll holder needs attention - keeps dropping roll! Outside access to room with too many variable steps, inside and outside, although not easy to do much about it!
All very clean and comfortable. - Cold tap in bathroom sink didn't work properly but didn't give an issue or effect anything. Very comfort bed which is always teh main thing. Staff very helpful and polite.
Very interesting old building
Needs a good maintenance person to fix a number of issues in the room!
Not a great deal unfortunately
It is completely different to the photos and write up online… the lovely building on feature photo is not used… there are no senior staff at property only youngsters left do deal with everything unfair to them
Staff and restaurant service was good. Room was in an annex and was dated.
Spotlessly clean room, very comfortable bed and friendly staff. Best possible breakfast.
Clean comfortable Staff fiendly and helpful
Clean friendly relaxed attentive staff. Super comfy bed. Great food. However, the chef was unexpectedly off 2 days running, so no cooked breakfast. Also the furniture in the room needs a bit of TLC and a bigger mirror on the tea table would look better.
Overall good stay but TV was not working and the staff didn’t seem too keen to sort it out. Reception staff were not the most welcoming.
Nice location, clean and comfortable.
Location, building gardens lovely
Got no offer to help with heavy bag had to struggle with it round to room. Room was not particularly clean hairs in bath and sink. Only soap in difficult dispenser available no shampoo lotions etc… Felt they handed you a key then that was it had a real b and b feel to it. Brief in room said it tries to keep cost low for cost of living crises but don’t find £100 particularly cheap. Expected better for location and price. Hotel next door much nicer won’t be back.
Spacious & comfortable.
Decor & decoration in dining room a little bland, but I was told they’d just completed renovations, so perhaps more to come.
