Lovely setting, just outside Bradford on Avon, but walkable distance to the town. The rooms are a little on the small side, but beautifully presented and include everything you might need. The host and staff were extremely friendly and helpful, but not intrusive. The breakfast was wonderful, with good choices and quality ingredients, almost certainly sourced locally. The grounds are extensive which for dog owners like us was just what we needed. The site is secure, as are the rooms, with adequate parking for the number of guests that visit the site. We would have liked a little more room, but nevertheless more than adequate for our five day stay.

Not the properties issue really, but the local pub we were expecting to eat in regularly, was not up expectations, requiring longer walks in the evening along the canal to find one of the better eateries in the town.

Breakfasts really good. Accommodation comfortable and pleasing. Premises overall is very nice. Situation is lovely. Working owners are nice, friendly and nice people. Overall some small things but nothing of note and reasonably good value. Close to Bradford ( suggest use public car park my canal / marina which is very nice and which allows for easy access to facilities like Tithe Barn and Craft Workshops, through parkland and onto terraces with nice churches and into town.

Mirror light in shower room/ WC operates on main Wc light-switch which has be to be switched on full for night use. Position of shower room / WC is adjacent to bed and so disruptive when fold access doors are open. Mirror light with switch already on it could be used for minimal lighting Really nothing else, so not a deal breaker.

Excellent breakfast.Very secure accommodation.Obiliging and very helpful,cheerful hosts.Great to have an electric charging point on site.

Green central area and entry to dining area could have been tidier.

L'atenció de tot el personal va ser molt bona, i l'esmorzar boníssim. L'habitació tenia una petita terrassa que estava molt bé per relaxar-te, en una zona tranquil·la fora de la ciutat. El lloc té el seu encant, a prop de Bath. Vam poder llogar bicicletes a preu especial per fer una passejada pel costat del canal. Molt bé.

Dick + Jane are amazing hosts! They were able to accommodate our early check-in and were very helpful with the whole thing. The rooms and setting are lovely, a perfect place to relax in the gardens. Breakfast was lovely, a hit with the entire family. We will be back!

Great location and The Wardrobe was really lovely. Love the fact the unit had its own fridge-freezer, but they also offer a little kitchen area next to the breakfast room which has washing up facilities, f/f glasses, plates, etc. Dick is a real character and extremely friendly.

Loved everything about our stay and had no complaints but perhaps a large mirror in the bedroom would be a nice touch

What wasnt to like,? The whole experience was lovely the staff and owner ,Dick,Jess and family were attentive and freindly, and even though this place is dog freindly, I would like to say they are more than that! this is probably the most dog freindly property I have ever staying in they were treated first class with a sausage every morning at breakfast! lovely grounds and very easy and quick journey to town. The breakfasts were to kill for! lovely selection and list of options cooked to your liking!

Honestly there was nothing I disliked about this property,I would make some constructive suggestions though, 1 a little gate infront of each room just to keep dogs close by. 2 There is a communal kitchen with lots of fridge space but maybe a small freezer, just to keep ice creams in etc? 3, maybe consider a small hob/oven as we like to cook rather than eat out in the evening, but none of these are issues or dislikes.

Eine sehr idyllische Lage im Grünen und sehr zuvorkommende und freundliche Gastgeber. Das Frühstück war sensationell, denn man konnte es sich nach Wunsch zusammenstellen. Sehr gute Unterkunft, um von dort aus Bath zu besuchen.

Lovely stay - the location is beautiful and very convenient for Bradford-on-Avon. Clean and comfortable room, delicious breakfast.

An exceptional B&B, with pleasant grounds, very good facilities and excellent breakfast.

There's very little to fault. The property is on a busy road, but the noise was barely noticeable in my room and did not interrupt my sleep.

Lovely site, like a cottage garden. Staff very friendly. EV charger available (for a reasonable fee). Good selection of hot breakfast food. Decor and furniture were well designed, looked good. Garden room was pleasant semi-private area for sitting in.

En suite bathroom was functional but cramped. None of the windows opened, so the room got stuffy in the summer heat. Automatic light in the en suite was too bright when using it at night.

Owners very hospitable and attentive, going out of their way to make sure that all their guests are happy with their accommodation.

The attention to detail for the room, breakfast and facilities was so well organised and thought through. The welcome and friendliness from arrival and throughout our stay was warm, helpful and friendly. The Enid Blyton naming of the rooms was a nostalgic and fun touch.

Very good breakfast with fish and vegan options. Quiet, peaceful place. Good for one-day trips to Bath and Bristol.

You will not find a more welcoming or accommodating host. Very much a family business we were well looked after at breakfast by a granddaughter. The property was easy to find and accommodation well thought out. Very convenient for canal walk into Bradford on Avon (25mins) as well as bus stop (5mins) offering route to Bath. We visited during a heat wave and having access to a small communal kitchen was very useful for keeping a good supply of chilled drinks.

Whilst the property is easy to find the pavemented five minute walk to canal access is along a busy road. But we would happily recommend and return to stay at property.

Comfortable, clean and laid-back lodging in a wonderful location. Dick is friendly and welcoming and his morning helper was so sweet as she served the scrumptious breakfast that Dick whipped up in the kitchen. Very convenient location for exploring the charming Bradford-on-Avon and easy access to the the tow path into Bath. Duck can arrange for discounted rental bikes to be delivered to and retuned from the property as well.

I only wish we had arranged for a loner stay!

Lovely setting, secure and quiet. Plenty of parking and the room was lovely. The staff were very friendly and provided everything we needed. Breakfast was delicious with so much choice. Best B+B we have had the pleasure of staying at.

Yes - a bit like camp and so much fun. Accommodations were perfect in relaxed room in a former stable. . Beautifully landscaped with flowering shrubs. A great walk to Bradford on Avon via tow path along canal - it is a short walk to get to canal. Down the road is the Grange Hotel, wonderful walk, serving meals and open to the public, with gin bar. Have fun.

Staff was very very very lovely. It was such a nice change compare to some other stays. Such a nice welcome and then next morning at breakfast. Location very beautiful absolutely exceptional. I lived in Trowbridge 4 years before and never knew there is such a place. Thank you very much! Worth of every penny!

I know it's out of town but could do with some cleaning of spider cobwebs in bathroom or at the outside kitchen or at entrance to breakfast area 😁

Dick und sein Team sind sehr aufmerksame, perfekte Gastgeber mit einer wunderbaren Herzlichkeit. Das Frühstück ist ein absolutes Highlight. Das ganze Anwesen ist eine richtig schöne grüne idyllische Oase.

Breakfast was not the best I've ever had but it was satisfactory. Our room had separate indoor space for eating which due to inclement weather was very useful.

It’s quirky with plenty of small seating areas and everything needed for comfort. It was a very brief overnight so no time to explore but large pub on marina next door perfect location

An ice machine for very warm weather

Really friendly, genuine, relaxed, greeting on arrìval, made us feel really welcome. Lovely, picturesque location. Property's security system engendered a relaxed atmosphere and a feeling that both we, and our property, were safe. Nothing seemed too much trouble and, without exception, all the staff were helpful and friendly.

Nothing really, idyllic place. Only downer was sometimes the road was busy and so quite noisy.

Breakfast was excellent, very thoughtful touches meant everything you needed was there, staff were all friendly, lovely outdoor areas to use, fun references to children's books, very clean and comfortable. Dick and staff were really helpful with accessibility for my elderly Mum.

Perhaps a comfortable area to sit when the weather is having a typically British rainy moment but in dry weather all outdoor areas were lovely

Easy to book with great communication before check-in. The welcome was really friendly and the location was perfect, with lovely canal walks and pubs all nearby and convenient. Firstly we chose this property because it had EV charging and was located near Bradford and Bath. The bed was really comfy, the shower excellent with soft water and soft towels. Very pretty garden area, secure entrance and exit and the best all you can eat breakfast freshly made by a friendly host.

Everything about our Widbrook Barns stay was wonderful! We were greeted by our enthusiastic host who showed us around the property and went over the welcome package in the suite. Everything was spotless, and the included breakfast was outstanding. Would not hesitate to book again, and would highly recommend this accommodation to others!

The End Of a Perfect Day When I asked Grok for a list of good B&Bs in Bradford-on-Avon, this was one of the two recommendations. Grok nailed it. We booked with the Widbrook Barns B&B for one night as part of a two-day stay. We were amused that all of the rooms are named after children's books. We stayed in the Lion, which was next to the Witch, and the Wardrobe. The setting is quite idyllic, and has many spots to sit outside and enjoy the remains of the day. When we arrived, we were greeted by Dick, one of the proprietors, who greeted us like old friends. He was kind, helpful and funny, as he filled us in on the things we needed to know. The room was faultless. I rarely get to say that. The rooms were spotless, the walk-in shower was glorious. It was almost impossible to leave after a long day's sightseeing. The towels were huge and everything was generally excellent. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well... ...until it was time for breakfast, which was filling and very nice, with lots of choices, ranging from poached eggs to wild-caught kippers. No complaints there either. Since we would be out all day before catching a train home, I had asked them if I could leave a bag with them. This was not a problem. Highly recommended. We shall definitely return if the opportunity presents itself.

We only needed to stay the one night, with only twin rooms available. The single beds were very comfortable but a little too small for adults.

The host was lovely - warm, friendly, and helpful. The room was comfy, cozy, and inviting. Breakfast was very good. And, we were referred to an excellent restaurant -- Ravello -- really exceptional food.

All was really fine. If I could change one thing, it would probably be "better coffee" at breakfast, but then again, I may be picky!!

The location is good, the accommodation is comfortable, the breakfast facilities first class.

An amazing place! The hosts are so welcoming, the accommodation is perfect, breakfasts catered for all and simply a hidden gem! I would thoroughly recommend and would certainly stay again!

This was our second stay. The rooms are very tastefully decorated and exceptionally clean with gardens that are nice and peaceful.. The location is excellent for Trowbridge / Bath and easily accessible by bus.

The room was lovely, clean and comfy, with all that we needed. The breakfast was amazing, so much to choose from and freshly cooked. The location is perfect -We stayed the evening before a day in Bath, so walked along the canal path into town and then stopped on the way back at the Boat House pub for a drink on the waterside. Car journey was about 20 minutes into Bath in the morning. Had we stayed longer we would have made use of amenities at the Barns, such as the small kitchen with microwave and cutlery for snacks, and beautiful seating areas in the garden for sitting out in the sun. There is ample parking and even an electric car charger, that you can ask the owners to use for an overnight charge.

Spotlessly clean, very comfortable and full of thoughtful details. The courtyard is very pretty with lots of external seating areas for relaxing and the breakfast was lovely. We didn’t use the self catering kitchen but what a brilliant idea and the bike lock up was fantastic. The hosts were fabulous, friendly but not intrusive and full of local knowledge. A really great stay all round.
