Sharon at reception was really helpful and pleasant. The same for the bar and dining room staff.

The Manager and staff were helpful and pleasant. We enjoyed dinner in the restaurant the first night of our stay.

We were allocated an awful dark, dinghy room in the attic. Very dated, grotty en-suite. The floor still wet from the cleaning. We had paid extra for a 'room with a view' expecting countryside. We over-looked the car park. Late evening & early morning the noise in our room was horrendous. We realised all the plumbing pipework was above us. We had a terrible night with very little sleep. We would have left next morning, but unfortunately had a funeral to go to. We spoke to the Receptionist who kindly said she would speak to Housekeeping for a change of room. Later that day we moved to a room in the Coach House which was a great improvement in all ways.

Location and setting are great. It's quiet but walkable from the centre of Bradford on Avon. Room was huge and clean with a very comfortable bed and great views. The building still retains plenty of period character and has large grounds with plenty of free parking. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Slightly faded grandeur in a beautiful old country house. Lack of attention to many small details let this place down, like loose hems on several of our bedroom curtains, stains on many of the carpets in our room, hallways and stairs, threadbare carpet on the stairs, neglected and sad looking orchard and vineyard. Plants growing out of the cornicing at the top of the building front facade. The water pressure was also very low, scarcely enough to make the shower head spray individual jets.

Bed was quite hard (for us personally). Carpet was very dirty with lots of stains, the duvet cover was too small for the bed (so didn’t even reach the sides let alone go over the edge) House keeping was poor in first experience. We were specifically asked if we wanted house keeping which we said yes to - came back to no bed made, no refresh of tea/coffee, no fresh cups/mugs for drinks, and no towels replaced. (Mentioned to reception and it improved after but still not quite what we’d expect) Finally in our last morning - at 7:45 we were woken up with drilling/banging from workmen outside our door fixing something. When mentioned to reception we just received an apology but no explanation or remedy. And phone didn’t work to ring down to reception either.

Neglected everywhere in terms of maintenance‼️ The garden furniture are practically broken ‼️ Everything is unsympathetic to its heritage , total miss match of cheep furniture and distasteful mixed styles decor .Worn-out stained carpets in corridors and room , the large windows covered in dust everywhere, the walls stained , low light in corridors . Disappointing bathrooms updates on low budget, low water pressure, low quality beddings , uncomfortable beds and pillows‼️ Low quality breakfast on a budget organised like Premier Inn , not worthy ⁉️ Disappointing dinner no quality, no choice , limited menu of few easy meals, not a chef’s menu . Overpriced ‼️ Can’t recommend it ‼️ Unfortunately unpleasant experience of neglect every where including the gardens and Vineyards left totally unattended ‼️ Very disappointing ‼️

Public transport to far away

The location and grounds were stunning , the staff were very friendly and polite made us feel welcome. The room was quiet which I was worried about as there was a wedding happening during our stay. They also provided us with a fan which was needed as the room was a little humid.The breakfast was gorgeous and had plenty of options, it was also nice that we could get the chef to make us fresh eggs when requested. Overall a very enjoyable experience

We didn’t like how busy the car park got ,we felt that we couldn’t leave to explore as we would lose our space , the car park was too small in our opinion. The smell of our room was a little musty , you could see they tried to cover it with an air freshener but that had ran out so wasn’t looked at to be changed before our stay which was disappointing. The window in our room rattled a lot because of the weather but that is understandable with an old building.

Bathroom was nice, breakfast was good, staff were excellent.

Carpets were old and stained, the single glazed window in my room faced the car park so I was subjected to the loud conversations of people waiting for their taxis until after 2am then I had the dubious pleasure of listening to the conversation from the couple in the room above mine untill after 3am, who despise talking in a normal voice sounded like they were on my room. As a result I faced a 4 hour drive with only 3 hrs sleep.

The first room we was assigned the toilet didn't work, we ended up moving rooms at like 21:30pm when we were quite tired from a full day out. At breakfast, underneath the placemats was filthy, I'm glad I ate before I realised

Was tuned away due to a power cut. Which although is out of the hands of the staff, we turned up at the hotel at 8am gave our phone numbers and there was no contact on the situation during the day, turning back up at 3pm for check in to be told that the hotel was shut and we were transferred to another hotel, I asked about our booking as it was for two nights the receptionist basically said it wasn't her problem and to take it up with the other hotel. We didn't know where we were going and it was a terrible experience. On getting to the limpley stoke hotel our executive room was down graded no money was returned, breakfast was disorganised and very expensive.

Room was great. It was a little warm, but that’s because weather was unexpectedly hot.

We had 3 rooms two executive rooms and a twin room all of which were excellent bright, spacious, well apointed and clean. The garden, views and surroundings were beautiful.

Certain things let the hotel down ie The Parasols on the Patio were broken and all the Rattan chairs were falling apart. The weather was 30 degrees so finding shade outside was impossible. The English breakfast was poor. Sausages and Bacon was hard.

Bylo nám líto obsluhy v jídelně, musí jako dress code nosit černé oblečení: dlouhé kalhoty a dlouhý rukáv, evidentně velice ve vedrech trpěli. Zaměstnavatel by k nim měl být lákavější. Přání,. která jsme denně po dobu 5 dnů předkládali na recepci, byla málokdy vyslyšena, museli jsme urgovat čisté šálky na čaj,. vynesení koše a doplnění sušenek, umytí umyvadla atd. Evidentně nefunguje kontrola, zda to personál vykoná. V koupelně nešlo otevřít okno a kapal kohoutek. Nemají na to údržbáře, přijde řešit manažer. Okno pak zase nešlo zavřít a dovnitř napadala spousta dřevěných úlomků okna, které znečistily celou koupelnu (asi pomohl vítr), nebylo to po návratu z výletu příjemné, kohoutek kapal dál. Je nám nicméně jasné, že je to něco za něco. Nižší cena na to, že jde o hotel výměnou za horší služby a celkovou ošuntelost. V našem pokoji.s manželskou postelí byla.jen jedna židle a jedna lampa na nočním stolku, zvláštní.

We really loved the old building and the nice area around it. The room had a stunning view over the peaceful fields. Comfy beds. Breakfast was served in a beautiful, atmospheric hall.

The hair dryer was not working properly because it had debris inside.

The location

The rooms are for a signature collection are below standard and not as shown on booking.com. The rooms were not clean, curtains were hanging off the poles and there was an electrical socket which had big gaps around the socket which young children could stick their fingers in. There were laundry bags at the exit to the building which could be a fire risk. The bar had limited drinks. The garden furniture is dropping to bits and dirty, the staff were slow in collecting dirty glasses and the table did not get cleaned. The breakfast was limited, no fresh fruit, advertised as a continental breakfast, no bread roll, cold meats or cheese, the cooked breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs, if you wanted fried, boiled or poached you had to ask for them separately, we watched one staff member actually pour cold milk into the scrambled eggs which were on the hot plate. The danish pastry on the second day tasted stale. The whole building is in desperate need of updating as it is looking very tired and is not what we expected.

Excellent staff - everyone polite and helpful. Good food. We were travelling on bicycles and they were keep inside the hotel and quite secure.

The food at the restaurant was very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a beautiful location with lovely grounds to explore and ample parking. We loved watching the bunnies on the lawn in the early morning.

Although the room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The room was a little tired, although there was a fan there was no air conditioning in the bedrooms and it was very hot.

Coach house room was well presented and decent enough size for a one night stay. Not a bad breakfast for the money.

No air conditioning even in the newly renovated coach house (we knew that when booking). No soap next to the bathroom sink. Very ragged outdoor seating (deffo needs an upgrade) and not enough parasols. Couldn’t manage any lunchtime food because there was a small wedding on at the time which we weren’t warned about or we would’ve bought some lunch in.

We had a wonderful weekend. The bedroom was first class. We were upgraded to a beautiful suite. The room was cool as it was a very hot day and we could have the windows open. The bed was really comfy and the decor was really pretty. There was also a lovely view of the countryside and beautifully kept lawns. Easy parking and perfect for us visiting the family in Bradford on Avon.

Most of the staff were nice.

Needs a big clean. Bathrooms need updating. Tea tray needs better coffee and 2 of the milks had gone off. Kettles need replacing limescale and the outter plastic coming off in 4 of rooms that myself and family stayed in. Showers after 2 min shower the water would go to hot and wouldn't turn down. There was a lot of dust around the hallways ect

Beautiful building, lots of character and charm to it. Staff were friendly and helpful. Bedroom was clean and bed was comfy. Best way to describe it is I felt like I was having a sleep over in my nans loft room 😂

I didn’t like the curtains in the room, was hard to keep them closed so was waking up both mornings at 4. Room was way too hot, especially in this heat. Shower head needs to be replaced with a bigger one. Lovely big shower but shower head is tiny. Sausages need updating at breakfast, tastes like rubber.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich und bemüht, der Garten ist sehr schön und der Frühstücksraum ebenfalls. Für unser Gepäck wurde uns Hilfe beim Tragen organisiert.

Wir waren in einem Familienzimmer im 2. Stock untergebracht. Die Hitze im Zimmer, vor allem in der Nacht, war trotz bereitgestelltem Ventilator kaum zu ertragen. Außerdem war es leider sehr laut.

Facilities were not all enough. The water came from taps were black at some point but didn't get any bottled water so we had to use the tap water. For a nicer hotel would definitely expect much more

The two rooms that I experienced were very dated, old worn carpet in corridors and a strong and overpowering odour filling them. Upstairs was quite a trek and extremely hot and stuffy despite a fan, unbearable to stand so I moved room (it was unusually hot weather). The ground floor room was much better with nicer decor and bathroom, but could definitely do with airing and the addition of an air con unit. There was no complimentary water or biscuits provided on the tea tray.

Lovely location & grounds - comfortable room

When I arrived the receptionist was friendly & welcoming. Later in the afternoon after I checked in, a different receptionist called me out for something I 100% didn’t do. I told her I knew what the rules were. She didn’t apologise- she made me feel like a naughty child. I’m a 61 year old company director- a responsible adult. I was fuming. I got to sleep around 11pm. Then around 10 past midnight- a person/people arrived in the room above me. It was like a heard of elephants thundering around for half an hour- then again early next morning. Fortunately I was only booked in for 1 night.

The location of this hotel is perfect for us. We have used it a few times over the past few years. The room was adequate and comfortable. We also enjoyed the breakfasts.

Not much. As we had a two night stay, we were offered a free room service. But this did not happen. This also happened in a previous stay. I did challenge the receptionist during departure.

We had the last room which was a twin and the window wouldn't close. The manager managed to get it to close a bit better which was good. Hotel was very busy due to a wedding and therefore a bit noisy. Also there was no parking left and we had to park right out the front door almost blocking other cars.

A fne Georgian building. It's a pleasure to stay in a place of such historic style.

Very disappointed. Our room was shoe horned into the roof space above the Vendange Suite. As a result there were two steps down immediately behind the room door and due to the sloping eaves I could only stand up at the end of the bed. In the shower the main roof support was 1 inch above my head. Questionable whether it should be used as a bedroom. When I spoke with staff their immediate response was - are you in a room with the steps down.

The view from the hotel bedroom and from the lawn at the rear of the hotel was absolutely stunning

The hotel requires a huge renovation, carpets are worn and dangerous , coffee machine breaks down regularly. Not enough seating for all the guests inside and outside plus many seats are without cushions.

The cleanliness of this hotel was extremely poor. The breakfasts were expensive but again very poor. We would not visit this chain of hotels again.

It was very hot inside the room, which made difficult to be there. We stayed during the heat wave, and compared to similar stays during the same time in similar buildings, this one was the worst to endure. They had only one small fan, the room was hot from the opened window during the day. Closed window during the sunshine hours and more fans would help.

Breakfast was good and the staff were very friendly and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The room was huge with a lovely view.

L’hotel è in una posizione strategica per visitare Bath e la struttura dall’esterno è sicuramente bella.

Pochi posti per parcheggiare la macchina se c’è un matrimonio come nel nostro caso. Alla reception abbiamo atteso 15 minuti prima che arrivasse lo staff per darci le chiavi. Entrati in camera abbiamo trovato parecchia polvere nel ventilatore, nel termosifone e nelle lampade presenti nei comodini. Uno degli asciugamani presentava delle macchie gialle/marroni e c’erano un odore nauseante per tutta la durata del nostro soggiorno. Ne abbiamo parlato con il General Manager e hanno provveduto a darci un ventilatore pulito e altri asciugamani. Abbiamo cenato al ristorante e data la presenza di un matrimonio abbiamo atteso più di 40 minuti per un piatto.

Very poor service in the bar and restaurant in the evening. Probably due to lack of staff as all busy dealing with the wedding party in the function room. Drinks ordered at the bar on 2 occasions ( before and during the meal on the Friday evening, and the drinks did not arrive. The fried fish in batter was over-cooked. Service during the meal was very poor. This was upsetting as we were trying to entertain a guest. Mr Oliphant complained to waiting staff at the time and a verbal apology was given. There was no offer of a reduction in the bill. Embarrassing for him in front of his wife, and 2 friends he was entertaining. We recognised that staff were very busy dealing with the large wedding party. We felt that the restaurant should not be open for business if it can't be properly supported with the correct number of staff.

Disappointed with the check in, receptionist was not helpful in giving clear directions to our room. Also disappointed that we had to have our evening meal at 18.00 and in spite of booking it at reception she did not swipe a card which caused confusion after the meal and there was no port available to round off the evening. The bed was only a basic double you should consider giving size of bed , (double, queen etc) the curtains need attention and cobweb need removing from window surround and the entrance to our area had a considerable number of bags of laundry in it not a pretty greeting. On a positive note the breakfast and staff in the morning were excellent.

When booking the room on booking.com on 13.5.26, I took a standard double room for 2 people as follows; 1 night hotel: CHF 104 includes taxes and fees 1 night: breakfast CHF 16 Therefore: 2 nights hotel at CHF 104 = 208 2 breakfasts for two people for 2 mornings , i.e. 4 x CHF 16 = 64 TOTALLING CHF 272 However, on checking out I was asked to pay the 4 breakfasts (CHF64) as the reception said it had not been covered ! Can you please let me know how much was debited in my Mastercard Payment for those two night ? I have not yet received the Mastercard invoice for that period, so I cannot check yet.

Beautiful location with stunning views. Easy walk into the town. Good sized room with a big bathroom. The bar was useful & service was good.

Rooms were noisy both from above, next door and from the corridor. The net curtain didn't fit the bottom of the window very well so privacy wasn't great.

The location of this property is amazing (looking across the Wiltshire countryside to Salisbury Plain and the White Horse) and the reception staff were very nice.

Given the price point, I would have expected a little more on the welcome tray and the continental selection for breakfast could have been a bit more extensive. Some of the public areas could do with a bit of a refresher too. My major issue though was the bathroom - there was almost zero water pressure in the shower (it barely dribbled out) which was not a great start to the morning not being able to have a proper shower. Had I not been in the area for an event the following day I would not have chosen this property to stay in.

The hotel was very authentic, the staff were very warm and friendly.. The room was spacious and clean. However the carpets did need a good clean. The bathroom was updated and clean. The restaurant had sold out of a few menu items for dinner. Location was very scenic and quiet.
