Had a fantastic 3 night stay here. Lovely clean room, perfect location, breakfast delicious. Everything you want from a B&B
Clean friendly great staff and excellent locally produced food.
Having to come home.
Good parking, clean, close to pubs and restaurants.
Nothing
I loved how characteristically cottage-y this was: it felt like sleeping inside a fairytale. Location is also perfect, a 2-min walk from the station and barely a 5-min walk to the high street. Breakfast is delicious and the staff were all so warm and welcoming, it felt like a hug.
Nothing at all.
breakfast was brilliant. Bag storage all day before check-in was much appreciated and the room was beautiful
Very clean for a 400 year old building, full of character and charm
Low beamed ceiling but only to be expected for age of the building
Location of the hotel was central in a village which is in the heart of the beautiful New Forest. The room was furnished in contemporary fashion that including all the things you would expect of a modern facility, all wrapped in a building of aged charm and character. Service given by all staff was attentive and efficient, whilst being friendly and informal, which combined with the surroundings made my stay there both relaxing and memorable. I would thoroughly recommend the Thatched Cottage Hotel!
I have no dislikes.
Brilliant breakfast, easy check-in and friendly staff. The room was well-equipped and cosy. Very convenient location close to the train station and walkable to lots of shops and restaurants. Parking is right outside the property with space to lock bikes overnight. Highly recommend!
Beautifully kept property.
Noise from the kitchen and garden in the morning and outside the pub emptying bottles late at night.
A lovely quaint hotel (very beautifully decorated) with shops and restaurants nearby. Good location, short drive to other villages (Bieulieu and Bucklers Hard).

This is a great place! From the warm welcome when we arrived until we picked up our stored luggage to leave the Thatch Cottage was a wonderful. The staff is exceptional. The room was comfortable, spotless, and well-maintained throughout our stay. It was the perfect place to stay with our dog, as a the rooms' separate entrance allowed us to easily take him out for a walk The breakfast was very good. There was a great selection, and everything I had was well made. The Thatch Cottage truly is a gem. If you're considering a visit to the New Forest, I couldn't recommend it highly enough.
The most perfect place to stay if you like being central in the forest. The thatched cottage is as beautiful outside as it is inside! The cake and breakfast are fantastic! Staff are accommodating and friendly.. We turned up early and they made sure our room was ready ASAP.
One of the rare places that I have said to the staff that there wasn’t anything that I could fault!
Beautifully English traditional thatched building. Beautiful garden.
Nothing.
The location was very good as it was very near the railway station. Breakfast was excellent and cooked very well. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Lovely location, amazing room with great facilities and friendly staff

Locatie prima, ontbijt prima. Kamer onder dak en het was zeer warm. Sanitair niet praktisch.
Het was te warm onder het dak en sanitair onpraktisch.
It’s second time staying at the Thatched cottage Hotel. A nice big room and very friendly staff.
Nothing
Great location lovely staff and delicious breakfast in charming set up.
Sadly we were there in the heat wave in August and the room was very hot. There was one floor fan provided but the weather made the stay less pleasant than it would have been.
Cozy hotel with very friendly staff. located near the railway station. The ceiling was so low my husband (1.89m) could not stand straight so take care when you are tall :)
The property is beautiful and the little coffee shop is gorgeous and welcoming
Nothing really, the room was a little small but we loved it
The warmest and most genuinely welcoming reception we have experienced anywhere. The hosts and every member of staff were absolutely incredible — friendly, attentive, professional and genuinely made us feel valued from the moment we arrived. The room was outstanding, beautifully presented, comfortable and full of character. In my opinion, this has to be one of the very best places to stay anywhere in the New Forest. The breakfast was exceptional too, with an incredibly high standard of food prepared by a top-quality kitchen team and chef. Every detail made this stay feel special.
Absolutely nothing. If anything, our only disappointment was that we couldn’t stay longer!
Great little hotel in the heart of the New forest, lovely accommodation with lots of character. Very charming room and a great breakfast in the morning. Would definitely stay again
THis hotel is absolutely amazing. The rooms were cody, the bathroom new and everything worked so well. The stuff was so friendly and warm hearted. It felt like being with friends. It is an amazing place, which will celebrate its 400 years‘ birthday in 2027. We will definitionen back. Thanks for this lovely time. In the evening we also enjoyed the pub next door, which served wonderful food es well. It was a perfect stay.
Everything - really helpful
Nothing
Locatio good as we attended the New Forest show Close to pubs selling evening meals.
TV did not work, continually "No Signal" incredibly steep staircase going up to our room, not suitable for anyone who finds climbing stairs difficult.
Ein uriges kleines Cottage mitten in Brockenhurst mit einem sehr schönen Garten und Tearoom!
Breakfast was good. Great granola but no porridge which was part of my notion of English thatched cottage living. No charge for the essential Second cup of coffee!
Beautiful location and surroundings and a very quaint cottage. The breakfast was delicious and served in a very pretty garden.
One slight issue with the bed which wasn’t discovered until late at night, but we were well compensated for this oversight.
Very comfortable room with lots of nice touches. Very pleasant hosts, and a great breakfast.
Nothing
Beautiful hotel, cosy, very clean and comfortable bed. All staff Very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is the best I’ve tasted. Would recommend this hotel for a holiday break
Nothing
Really quirky. Loved it.
Ground floor room ideal for us. Fabulous breakfast.
Bed frame had claw feet which stuck out. Close confines meant potentially stubbing a toe or worse such as tripping over.
Really beautiful cottage rooms are well presented and very clean. Breakfast is outstanding of which staff can’t do enough for you.
There was nothing I did not like I will be definitely booking to stay again
Great location. Excellent staff. Clean and comfortable and very good value for money. Lovely breakfast. Would highly recommend.
Nothing
Hotel is beautifully historic in easy reach to main road, train station and walks. Room was lovely, clean and comfortable, very grateful for the fan & fridge in the hot weather. Breakfast was delicious and served in the tea room. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would stay again 100%
Nothing
Location great. Breakfasts satisfactory. Staff friendly. Good parking.
Room very small. Smelly bathroom, probably because the extract fan didn't work. Cups weren't washed on any day. No tissues in bedroom or bathroom. No waste bin in bathroom, what are women supposed to do with used sanitary ware? Light faulty in shower. Overall it is a 2 star hotel on a scale of 5.
Everything. Room was lovely, perfect location, lovely staff
Nothing
Everything. Really accommodating in every detail.
Nothing
Location ,ground floor room was lovely.breakfast was in the tea room and organised very nicely
Good location Friendly staff Yummy breakfast Quaint building
The room was a little dark but that was the only thing I’d say I didn’t like.
So cozy and comfortable. Great location for the new forest.
Very charming. Clean and quiet. Good breakfast in a nice guarden.
You might want to give people a heads up about the height of the room. Maybe it was just the Djardeeling Room that is so low, and I know we requested a room downstairs because of our dog, but still, with my 1.84 I was way too tall for that and bumped my head several times.
It had a lovely cosy feel, fantastic staff, and gorgeous garden for tea. Breakfast is freshly made, and even an oat cappuccino as dairy free with cinnamon on top. I much prefer this to the second place we stayed in Swanage, a big hotel with no personality. This place oozes charm character and cosiness. Lots of nice restaurants, trails, and pubs on your doorstep.
Nothing
Quality of food in the tearooms is very good.
Brighter bedside lamps.
Quaint 16th Century building. Modern facilities however.
Dimmish lighting with only one bed side light.
Die Lage ist perfekt - zentral, alles was man braucht und schnell in der Natur. Phil ist hilfsbereit und freundlich!
Lovely clean ground floor room, with a very comfy bed and a nice powerful shower. This is a very picturesque small hotel in a great little village. Great breakfast menu included in the price and the homemade granola is delicious and a must try. The tea rooms were extremely busy over what was Father's Day weekend and the hot weather. The staff were pleasant and polite. A fan was provided in our room without us asking which was a nice touch. Would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend, just a shame we were only there for 2 nights.
Nothing.
Sauberes Zimmer, Cookies zum Empfang
Zimmer klein und direkt neben der Toilette des Cafés, extrem schmale Betten, keine Ablagemöglichkeiten im Zimmer und Bad
A cute period property with friendly staff. A good freshly prepared breakfast served in a great setting.
Extremely awkward accessing room upstairs, narrow steep stairs & extra low beams in the room made using the facilities difficult.
Great location in the village
Very cosy and comfortable room. Personal touches such as fresh milk, coffee machine, biscuits and toiletries. Wide range of breakfast choices. Friendly staff.
Cute little cottage in a gorgeous village, easy parking and close to the train station . The breakfast was great and staff very friendly. I would recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing weekend away.
As it is an old building you can hear the people moving in the rooms above, however the old building is a part of the charm.
PERFECT LOCATION WITH TEA ROOM AND PUB NEXT DOOR
Stayed during heatwave so aircon would have helped
Friendly helpful staff. Good breakfasts!Nice atmosphere, lovely garden
The bedroom windows! No top ones to open, was worried about dogs jumping out& main road ,a few feet away.probably nothing can be done ,being a 16th century cottage. Not a problem ,only in hot weather!
Het ontbijt. Heerlijk!!
Iets te klein om ook je koffers kwijt te kunnen in de kamer
Very comfortable and cozy. Excellent breakfast included at Esme’s
Shower cubicle a little tight!

Absolutely delightful thatched cottage BnB with very friendly staff. Great location. The room was very comfortable with good facilities and had been beautifully prepared for us with swan sculptured towels and even the loo rolls had bows! The excellent breakfast had many great options but the full fry hit the spot. Lots of nearby dinner options in Brockenhurst but would recommend the Snake-catcher Arms.
Very cosy great location the breakfast is lovely bed was comfy
Nothing
Convenient for places we wanted to visit
The room was small but we liked it
Un accueil charmant, petit déjeuner exceptionnel !
Lovely quirky old rooms well decorated and comfortable. Fantastic location in the village. The breakfast in the attached tea room ( and the cream teas )were excellent. Parking right outside the property.
A bit noisy in our bedroom at the front.
Excellent location, very friendly helpful staff. Wonderful breakfast, beautiful tea room, which we didn’t have time to go to, seemed very popular. Room was clean and comfortable , had all the facilities required & good value for money.
Nothing we didn’t like.
The room was very comfortable and a really nice bed, although we did knock our heads on the beams once or twice. Phil and Helen sent us a nice message to help our arrival and there were great suggestions about where to eat. The breakfast was great and with good variety and our hosts were really cheerful and a nice start to the day.
Comfy room parking on site
Nothing all was well
Everything! Lovely place to stay with really comfortable room and bed; exceptional really helpful and pleasant staff; delicious breakfast and delightful garden in which to relax.
Nothing!

Quirky and very charming. Had the added bonus of an excellent tearoom!

Very central location! Ample beautiful walks very close by as well as lots of places to eat (or drink).

The hotel is so quaint, charming and in a lovely location with the New Forest on your doorstep. The Darjeeling room was a lovely, clean, with on suite bathroom with bath and shower. The bed was so comfortable and we both had the best night sleep. There was coffee n tea provided and a Nespresso coffee maker for those that like strong. Breakfast was superb and served in the tea room attached to the hotel. Superb night and we would recommend and will be back.
Beautiful hotel. Lots of character and original features. Great location for exploring on foot, by car, or by train. Staff were amazing. Breakfast was very good. Very comfortable stay. Parking right outside.
Nothing. Everything was very good.
Amazing stay, will be back again!

Excellent!
Too many dried plants needs a little bit of brightening up
very quirky and breakfast was delicious
too noisy from the stairs and bathroom bin full of rubbish
The staff were super friendly and always helpful, which made a big difference. The bedroom was clean, cosy, and the bed was very comfortable. I also really enjoyed the delicious breakfast options. This was my second stay, and I enjoyed it so much that I extended my visit by an extra night. I’ll definitely be back again!
I really liked the room, but maybe would recommend to have different types of teas available in the room such as herbal rather than just breakfast teas and tissues and/or napkins available.
Quiet property with a lot of character. Great breakfast and very clean room. Towels were made into animals upon arrival which was a very cute touch. Great location in walking distance to the train station and cycle hire.
The only very slight negative (and very slight) was the bed was very springy which isn’t my favorite, but it was very quiet so if made up for it!
Gorgeous property and room, very dog friendly. Lovely food in tea room attached. Staff all friendly and helpful. Great location too, shops, trail, train station nearby
Only thing is the property was super dark when we arrived for self check-in late in the evening. Maybe a motion sensor or solar powered light by the key collection point or path but other than that picky detail, our stay was perfect
I loved the location, the staff, the layout. It feels welcoming and is very calming.
Unfortunately, the only thing I can moan about is the bed in our room. It was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever experienced. It is she's a shame as everything else was so lovely. However, I did not get much sleep at all due to the discomfort of the bed.
The advertising narrative and images are very misleading as the hotel is on a busy road, it was not restful as traffic and buses use the road constantly. That was accompanied by a pub next door which played music outside in the pub garden till 12 midnight. The only saving grace was breakfast and the amazing staff who were friendly and knowledgeable about the local area/walks (especially Steve who was an absolute tonic!)
The room was spacious and full of character.
House is pretty and full of character, very fitting in the location.
Low ceilings in parts of the room, have to remember to duck down if you’re tall.
Staff very helpful and breakfast was very nice.
We were staying on the first floor of the main 16th century cottage. The staircase was very steep and, as one might expect, the doors were very low and there were different levels on the floor - going to the toilet at night was a nightmare, many stubbed toes and banged heads! It was a shame we didn’t have a shower and there was nowhere to hang clothing in the bathroom.
The room was very clean, the breakfasts were delicious and the staff were really friendly
Nothing!
The property and the room were very well presented, characterful, clean and comfortable. We parked up immediately outside the cottage. B&B provided good and tasty options (my wife is vegetarian and the hosts altered the dish to suit her). The close proximity to the train station was very useful - there's no noise and it enabled us to get a train into Portsmouth (via Southampton) without having to navigate the busy and unfamiliar roads outside the New Forest. The town itself is attractive with a small but adequate selection of restaurants.
We had to be aware of the low beams in the room - they are original and attractive but you need to duck!
It is our 4th visit. We really like it and it is close to the station
Nothing
Absolutely lovely accommodation, ground floor room good for those with mobility issues. Very comfy, light and airy room. Free onsite parking and a great breakfast.
Nothing
Friendly owners and staff, good breakfast, local places to eat for evening

Nice room. Good breakfast.
Parking. No dedicated spaces for residents.
Lovely old building. Unfortunately our room - on the ground floor- was small and had no seating other than the bed. It was, also, next to the toilets for the attached cafe and consequently noise, from the use of the toilets, was intrusive, for most of the day. The on site cafe, Esme's, served delicious food and staff were excellent.
The room: it was small and lacked space; there were many drawers, but no floor space for bags etc.
Great location, nicely decorated room, easy parking. Very quiet at night. Great breakfast included and plenty of it.
Shower a little cramped but as it’s an old property I think they are limited with space anyway but wasn’t a hindrance.
