Night porter was a star…we arrived very late and quite stressed..he was fast, welcoming and just the ticket!

The location was nice and convenient. Liked the Nespresso machine in the room.

The room was stuffy, the window didn't stay open and the window blinds string was snapped. And the food isn't for me, but it is just my taste.

Location was great, the garden of the hotel was also beautiful. What makes this place stand out though is the staff; they were all so efficient and friendly. Food was lovely.

The only thing we didn’t like was the shower, it was one of those rain ones and ended up wetting the floor quite a bit every time it was used.

Food had to be sent back as not cooked, took an hour to serve everyone, no bedsheet on bed which despite asking for one twice was not resolved, some staff plainly rude. Staff unable to communicate with each other or alter the computer system so that any minor changes to requirements were not actioned. Size of sink in premium bathroom had no depth so water spilt everywhere, clearly the designer has never texted their work. Portion size of full English breakfast very small, beans arrive with skin on the top of the pot, fried egg rock hard. Go to a Premier Inn for better service and food at a fraction of the cost.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff, very good outside eating area in hot weather, good food and service, dog friendly.

Room cleaning poor - cups not cleaned, coffee/milk not always replaced, towels not always changed. We had to go to Reception for coffee/milk/tea and ask for towels.

Housekeeping was not good……bed was made and fresh towels. But dirty glasses not replaced, tissues not replenished (box was empty when we arrived), just sloppy. Wait staff need new uniforms! Badly fitting and old.

Property was lovely. Gorgeous location. Birthday card provided for my partner was a nice touch. Also very dog friendly which was great. All the staff were absolutely lovely.

The TV in the room didn’t work and there was no air conditioning (there was a fan provided) and I was slightly disappointed there was no fridge in the room. Bar service was very slow as there was only one gentleman on the bar (he was very polite but could see he was under pressure). I ordered Caesar salad for dinner, with chicken. This came without the chicken. I asked for chicken and this was provided, I offered to wait at the bar instead of it being bought to me as I could tell they were understaffed. Very lovely hotel but evidently very short staffed and for the price I didn’t think it justified it. Over £300 for one night is a lot, and I think there are certainly improvements to be made in this sense.

Beautiful location - stunning garden which made for a lovely alfresco meal. Close to beautiful walks (with lots of roaming horses). Friendly and helpful staff made it a very welcoming place to visit and we plan to return. We upgraded to the suite which was fabulous - wonderfully comfortable bed and a great view from the balcony.

Beautiful setting and the staff were so friendly. We was made to feel welcome and nothing was to much trouble.

The location was great, the staff lovely, very comfortable spacious room considering there was 3 of us. Gorgeous outdoor lawn area for eating and drinking.

Excellent location in Brockenhurst on the edge of the forest. Lovely garden to sit out during the day or evening.

Our standard double room was quite small and you felt a bit squashed in, but I blame the time of year as the hotel was fully booked, so I believe we had to take what was available at the time. Will probably go for a deluxe room in the future with more space.

Room no 8 was miniscule - I could barely get round the end of the bed to get to the door to the bathroom. It also faces full south and has no air conditioning. It turns out that the windows had been left open which is not great for security as it is on the ground floor, and didn't have a noticeable benefit to the temperature of the room.

Beautiful hotel, friendly, polite staff, excellent breakfast and comfy beds. Good games for the children and a lovely garden to relax in.

We had 2 room (we are a family) and the rooms were on different floors. Not all rooms had air conditioning and it was almost impossible to sleep in the room which didnt have it. Only BBC 1 and 2 available on tv as other stations were pixilated, so unwatchable. Very low water pressure in one room, with water dribbling out of tap. Toaster not working properly (staff aware) and toast fell out of the back of the toaster onto the table. This was not very hygienic and you risked being burnt retrieving the toast. There was no warning sign regarding this.

The garden is lovely, location is great and the bar is good too. Rooms are comfortable. Good variety of biscuits in room. Some food was great and others quite bland.

Bedrooms don’t have a fridge or aircon. Our room didn’t have a phone and when I mentioned this to reception they said it should do but didn’t resolve. The night manager did give me his mobile number for emergencies. The WiFi didn’t work on the bedroom tv and WiFi bad in general. Some staff were very nice (bar staff) but others were quite rude, no one wanted to serve us at breakfast and our children were getting restless. We had to ask to be served in the end. Various bits broken in bedroom and holes in cot bed blanket. No one asked how our stay was at check out.

Everything about the hotel is amazing, cleanliness, staff, location and food.

Unfortunately couldn't enjoy a bath in the amazing tub, as the plughole was leaking. But we informed reception who hopefully got it sorted for the next guests.

The location and the room on the ground floor for my elderly parents. Breakfast was nice. Customer service was good

We booked 2 rooms at equal cost. The ground floor room which my parents had was a good size with access to the gardens but the walk in shower didn't have any hand holds so it was difficult for them as this was meant to be for people with a disability. Our room was in the new wing and seemed much smaller. It was also difficult to sleep due to the high temps in the room as the new wing has a flat roof and the rooms have no air conditioning

Unfortunately the bed was uncomfortable. Room was not what we paid for . Guy knocked on door, then unlocked the door and came in with both of us in the room within seconds asking if we needed room service.

Die Lage war sehr gut und die Unterkunft war hochwertig ausgestattet. Besonders der Dyson-Haartrockner war ein schönes Extra.

Das Zimmer war für unseren Geschmack etwas zu vollgestellt und mit zu viel Dekoration versehen. Außerdem gab es einen leicht muffigen Geruch im Zimmer und die Handtücher rochen ebenfalls etwas unangenehm. Beim Check-in wollte das Personal zunächst einen höheren Preis berechnen als online angegebenen.

The staff at the Forest Park are excellent. Very personable and attentive. Really impressed by the team. The Hotel itself is in a dream location and the facilities are excellent.

The hotel is a period property and so has little by way of insulation. In addition, health and safety means you cannot fully open the windows. It is therefore extremely hot in the room at night when it is 30 degrees outside as it was during our stay. The hotel could provide more effective cooling solutions on the top floor during very hot spells.

We Stayed here for 2 nights in a family room. We had a fantastic experience! The location is perfect right in the middle of a beautiful forest, making it peaceful and relaxing. The breakfast was absolutely amazing with plenty of choice, and everything was delicious. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel really welcome throughout our stay. Would definitely recommend and happily stay again!

An AC would have been nice in the heat if July

Breakfast was very good, with good choice of main dishes.

The room carpet needed hoovered. First evening dinner was very good, trout, but expensive. Second evening dinner not so good, I chose a burger, which was tasteless, I've had a tastier burger from MacDonalds. I've stayed at this hotel many many times over the years, and all that improves is the prices.

Lovely hotel right next to the forest, tranquil location, very clean and comfortable room, friendly staff and charming gardens. We really enjoyed our stay and were very comfortable as a family of three with a young baby.

Food is good but we found the portions a bit small for the price. Very comfortable bed but pillows were a bit too hard. Someone knocked on our room at 8 am and attempted to open the door with a key after we didn’t answer. We were sleeping and thought it was quite odd for someone to disturb us at that time in the morning (we assumed it was housekeeping)

Location was perfect

SO much attention to detail, spare specs available, as were wellies in a wet time. Last time we stayed was years ago. Lovely garden, friendly staff, a special mention to the gentleman on breakfast service, his gentle sense of humour and care for the guests was first class. Would we stay again? Certainly.

Just nit picking really but the bathroom radiator towel rail would have been better 6" further from the door. When the towels were on it and the door opened they were knocked to the floor, too close.

A lovely hotel, set in a wonderful tranquil spot just outside Brockenhurst. So nice to wake up and see the New Forest ponies roaming right outside the hotel! Beautiful gardens with lots of outside seating and plenty of car parking space. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel, everything was superb. The bedroom was newly renovated and had some really nice touches (including Nespresso coffee machine, DAB radio, Dyson hairdryer) and a huge bathroom. All the staff were wonderful, very friendly and always wanted to help. We'll definitely go back.

It's hard to be critical of this hotel. Maybe you could argue that it had limited facilities (no gym, no pool) but the tranquility and the ambiance more than made up for that!

Location beautiful, we rode our bikes. The bikes were locked up securely. Food and staff were really nice,excellent service. The garden was lovely.

The old building fits into the surroundings well, back garden is a lovely place to relax in the shade. Food was of a great quality. Service to the garden outside was non existent though which was disappointing. The family room was extremely hot during the early July heatwave as there is no a/c at this property. I actually think they shouldn’t sell those rooms during the extreme hot days, we literally paid to sleep in a sauna for the night.

No a/c and while this is ok on moderately warm days, when it’s over 30 degrees Celsius and we’re staying in the top rooms it’s quite unbearable.

We have been here a few times before but will not be going back. Not sure why the change but it is no longer up to standard. Disappointed overall. More dog tolerant than dog friendly as you can only eat in the somewhat grim bar (with very dirty carpet) if you have your dog with you. Although as it was a very nice evening we did have the choice to eat outside but that option was not obvious. Unfortunately, the menu was limited and in fact seemed identical to what we were offered last year. At the end of the evening we took our dog for a short walk intending to have coffee and a whisky afterwards. Unfortunately, it seemed that as they had cleaned the coffee machine (this was only 2130) it was not possible! So we went to bed! Breakfast was ok but they wanted to know at precisely what time we were going to eat which we had no idea. Room was OK, but the bathroom sink was so small and almost unusable, made worse by the glass shelf immediately over the top that obstructed access and the tap. Also there was no where to put your things like wash bags. I hope by now they have put a notice up to warn the guests about the very active wasp nest in the garden I warned them about, as they did not within the first 12 hours of me telling them. The staff were very friendly and helpful, but clearly many were poorly trained and they seemed to be understaffed so at times, despite the weather being perfect, they would or could not service the garden.

Beautiful hotel and garden. Wonderful staff. Excellent food and service. We left a day early due to the heat and concerns about our room. The staff and manager were very understanding and refunded our final night's payment.

I chose this hotel because it had a lift. However, there were quite a few steps between the lift and our room. Worse still, inside our room there was a steep step between the bedroom and the bathroom, which was very worrying. During the heatwave, there seemed to be no air-conditioning in any communal areas

It was ideally located for trips around the New Forest. The garden was beautiful and very spacious. It was ideal for drinks before evening meals.

Only that no air conditioning as weather was so hot found the room too hot & only heavy duvet . Need the option of just a sheet. Also could not charge our electric toothbrush as no shaver plug in the bathroom.

Perfect location for walking in the New Forest. Breakfast very good, comfy bed, room generally OK. Lovely garden to sit out in after a day's walking.

Room needed some TLC. Decor needed fixing, holes in the wall where things used to hang, door into garden needed maintenance and repainting. Debris from previous occupants in bathroom. Had to send dinner back 1 evening as it wasn't up to standard. The garden bar is supposed to be open Friday through Sunday, but was closed (on Friday) - we were told that was due to staff shortages ...... which may explain why we had to go and find the place where the garden seating cushions were stored - these used to be put out by staff. In the morning, glasses hadn't been cleared from the previous evening which isn't great when you want to sit out for a coffee in the early morning sun. £280 per room per night with breakfast not included is a lot of money so we'd expect top dollar service and we didn't get that this time.

Firm mattress and pillows ( Personal opinion )

Ligging in het midden van New Forest. Goede uitvalsbasis. Kamer op het gelijkvloers met directe toegang tot het terras. Lag 's middags in de schaduw. We waren er in het begin van de hittegolf en de kamer was nog relatief koel in vergelijking met de rest van het hotel.

Van de 'manager' mocht er 's avonds niet op het terras gegeten worden. Terwijl het buiten merkelijk minder warm was. De eerste avond namen mensen hun eten/drank zelf mee naar buiten. De daaropvolgende avonden werd het strikt verboden door het personeel. Buiten ontbijten mocht ook niet terwijl de ene deur van het ontbijtbuffet toegang gaf tot het terras en de andere tot de dinerzaal. Terras werd 's avonds niet afgeruimd; hier en daar kapotte zetels.

Very good location with super friendly staff.

Our bedroom was on ground floor as requested, but we had the garden furniture very close to our window, which meant unfortunately that we had fellow guests sitting talking late into the night (11.30pm) and early in the morning (5.30am) as they walked their dogs avoiding the heat of the day. Two women guests then sat on a bench chatting immediately outside our window, when there were plenty of empty chairs in the garden 🤷🏻‍♀️ i did ask the hotel if the benches could me moved to avoid , but I was told by the front desk this was not possible!

The dining room wasn’t set up for the hot weather & not all rooms had air conditioning. We gave up on using the wifi as it wasn’t reliable & heard the same thing from other guests.

A bit rundown inside, e.g. mouldy sash windows with flaking paint. Some public areas need more cleaning, e.g. sticky doors and tableware. Common areas smell of stale cooking, like an old people’s home. Rooms aren’t cleaned fully daily. Also problems like huge cobwebs with loads of flies and grimy carpets - so not thoroughly cleaned at intervals either. Pillows are incredibly uncomfortable, like thin planks. Bring your own!

We have always loved this Hotel but it is now looking very tired, rooms with big cracks in walls. Lower corridor smells of dogs. Breakfast is buffet style whereas you used to get a lovely freshly cooked breakfast.
