Hotel Indigo Shenzhen Overseas Chinese Town by IHG

The overall hotel was like being in Italy , but even better. A very European feel to the property itself. The room was very clean and appeared recently renovated. Breakfast was also great with a good spread.

The views could have been better, but the hotel made up for the poor exterior view.

We landen om 05:00 uur in Shenzhen waardoor we al vroeg aankwamen in het hotel. We konden zonder problemen een halve dag bij boeken..De kamer is ruim en van alle gemakken voorzien. De regen douche is perfect. Het ontbijt is ongelofelijk Echt alles is aanwezig en zelf meer. Het buiten zwembad is groot Het binnen zwembad was gesloten. Ook de toolbar was dicht. Ik raad dit hotel 100% aan. Personeel super vriendelijk en behulpzaam..

Poolbar was gesloten. Maar verder alles oke.

Another IFG hotel win. Loved the Venice theme of this hotel, tastefully done with sweeping printed carpets, majestic stairwell, flower market and staff dressed with straw hats and striped shirts. The room was spacious with incredible views to a theme park complete with rollercoaster and ferris wheel. There are both stunning indoor and covered outdoor pools. Location was excellent.

Service at the lobby bar was not very professional.

The hotel is conveniently located for exploring Shenzhen and visiting Window of the World. The breakfast buffet offered a good selection of dishes, including some options for vegetarians. The staff were helpful and assisted us whenever we needed something during our stay.

Unfortunately, we did not feel entirely comfortable during our stay. One aspect we found inconvenient was access to the gym and pool. We had expected to be able to use these facilities freely, but instead we had to visit the front desk each time we wanted access, which became quite frustrating. We also understand that this is a five-star hotel and that certain services come at a premium. However, some prices seemed difficult to justify. For example, a transfer from the hotel to Shenzhen Railway Station costs around 90 RMB via Didi, even when choosing one of the most expensive vehicle options. The hotel, on the other hand, quoted approximately 500 RMB for the same journey, which felt excessive and unreasonable. Another issue concerned room service. We were unable to place orders through the hotel's app and therefore had to go down to the lobby to order food. When we informed the staff that the app was not working, we were initially told that it was functioning correctly. We then had to demonstrate the problem ourselves. After mentioning that we had already experienced the same issue the previous day, we were told that the system had been working yesterday and that our claim was incorrect. It is entirely possible that this issue only affected our account or device, but the interaction left us feeling that our concerns were not being taken seriously.

L’hôtel est en face d’un shopping center, y’a un parc d’attraction pour les enfants: Happy Valley à 5 min, un convenient store de l’autre côté de la rue. La salle de sport est vraiment grande et plutôt complète. La piscine est vraiment grande. On a eu une superbe chambre vu sur Window of the World. Le personnel de chambre était super sympa. Comme on avait beaucoup de bouteilles d’eau vides dans nos poubelles. Le 3e jours ils nous ont laissé le carton d’eau haha 🙏🏼😇

À chaque fois, il fallait passer par l’accueil wellness pour ouvrir la salle de sport.

Очень большие и удобные номера, вкусные завтраки. В прямой пешей доступности находится отличеый парк Window of the World, самый большой плюс - сотрудники отеля, молодой дружный коллектив, представители на ресепшн работавшие в смену с Garvey решили все возникшие вопросы.

Place was really nice, well located and the staff were always on hand to assist us with anything we needed. My partner celebrated their birthday during our stay and the hotel very graciously provided us with a complimentary large cake. Overall, we only spent two nights there and really regret not staying longer. Will definitely be back the next time we are in Shenzhen!

Smelled lovely in the lobby which felt very much like The Venetian Hotel on a smaller cosier scale. Clean & comfortable room with comfortable bed & decent shower. Had everything we needed. Good size room. Huge buffet breakfast with plenty of Western & chinese options to cater for everyone, but no english breakfast tea (or anything similar) so bring your own if you’re a tea drinker!

Location is a bit far from popular area, most places are 20 min away. Amenities were average for 5 star hotel eg no toilet bidet, average slow hair dryer. Gym and pool access requires registration with party instead of access with your own hotel key card

Although dated the hotel is clean and in very good condition. Our room and the public areas impressed. All staff were helpful, but English is generally not spoken and understood. Adrian and Helen (manager) were both super helpful and kept following up. On our first morning Adrian arrange for an early check in and help us to get a grip on the workings of WeChat and Didi. Without that we would have struggled a lot. When he was not there, Hellen helped us with various queries. All accurate helpful in good English. She continued to offer advice and follow up offering help.

If we understood Schenzhen we would have booked in Futian. However, there was always a Didi car available and a 20 minute £4 ride took us where we wanted to go,

Wanted to pay cash, they made a charge on the credit card to secure the room, at check out couldnt be cancelled ( ended paying by card). Outdoor pool has no sun beds, its closed. Location is convenient but not great Its the first hotel in China that doesn’t make deliveries to the room, they are left by the front door; they encourage the room service but it has a very limited selection. The hotel doesn t exchange money and only suggest you to go to China Bank ( not very usefull on a friday night)

The Room was very clean and well equipped, we really enjoyed the bathtub and the quietness of the corridors.

The breakfast was a bit limited considering the 5 star rating. coffee was cold and general behaviour of other guests wasnt too good. Hotel could do more to support this: children touching all of the pastries and putting them back, people filling their plates with everything in one bowl and leaving other guests with nothing.

The hotel was amazing, great location, delicious breakfast, and overall excellent service from the entire hotel team. Special thanks to Alex at the reception, who helped us a lot during check-in and provided very useful information for our Shenzhen trip. We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to the front desk duty manager from the evening shift on 8 January (unfortunately, we forgot to get his name). My little niece has a sensitive stomach, and while we were simply trying to confirm a few details as a precaution, the hotel team went above and beyond to personally ensure that we were well taken care of throughout our stay. The hotel is highly recommended for families and is conveniently located near many theme parks.
