The thermal insulated is pretty good, they also have a nice share kitchen for you to cook your own food.

The soundproofing is not too good, you can hear people walking and closing the door pretty loud.

Good place to stay in a stunning location

Noisy sliding doors, weak internet, room was so small, beds are comfortable but short

It was one of the best accommodations we had in our entire trip. My wife loved the community kitchen, facilities, teh atmosphere in the common sitting & dinning area and the view of the mountains that she spent most of her time there only rather than going on the Hooker Valley Trek.

The reception area was a bit tired.

Location. View was great. Used the Hermitage Mt Cook for drinks and buffet dinner. Loved the free visitor information centre. Receptionist was very pleasant.

We loved the location, but the room felt quite small and the amenities were limited. We noticed some basic things were missing, like lotion in the room. With a few more touches and a bit more space, this would be a great hotel.

Great, well equipped shared kitchen. Room was basic but was all we really needed.

Perfectly located with a large common room looking out into the mountains. The beds were comfortable and well cleaned and maintained.

Pretty simple without any frills. There are shared fridges in the common area kitchen, but if you prefer having everything in your room this might be a detractor.

The lodge has a common kitchen/dining area with several cooktops, refrigerators, lots of pots and pans - and yet I couldn't find a single microwave anywhere!

We paid almost $Nz700 for 2 nights for a pokey room at the back facing part of the hotel (no view). It felt more like a backpackers hostel than a quality lodge. Basic facilities. Shared kitchen. The heater in our room was broken (but a staff member did replace it), the TV didnt work and the internet/wifi was poor (but that’s probably expected in a remote national park). only one staff member sighted at the lodge the entire time. Adequate but not worth the money.

So sunny and warm, this was for our parents to stay while we got married at thar lodge! Was so very lucky to be allowed to get ready there also.

Loved how it was walking distance to main attractions. We didn’t use our car at all whilst there. The kitchen and dining area was very clean and well equipped.

We opened our window one morning and a bird snuck in and pooped in there. No communal toilet in the building

The room was quite small for 2 adults and 2 children as advertised. We stayed for 2 nights and the juggle of luggage around the room was near impossible. A room of that size would be suitable for 2 adults as a maximum so there was ample room to store luggage etc. The feel of the place was more like backpacker's accommodation, rather than what is advertised.

Excellent location

Access door (locked) between units made for paper-thin noise protection. Could hear every word, sneeze, cough and snore from our neighbours. Bed quite uncomfortable also.

Room ain't that big but clean. Easy access to Kea Point and Hooker Valley Track. Carpark is just in front of the hotel and free but limited. Sharing kitchen is clean.

Shared kitchen was nice and room was very cozy, enabled us to have a good rest after a long day of hiking. The mountain view from the lodge was also absolutely gorgeous.

The Mountain View room with bunk beds and our own ensuite was perfect for a family of four. Having the view of sunset and sunrise from our room windows on the snowy mountains was breathtaking and memorable. Friendly staff and the communal kitchen was very well equipped for us to prepare our meals.

Washing Machine and Dryer need repair or maintenance which is not work very well. Still smell soil after washing, Dryer is not powerful for drying and still with damps on cloths
