Brunton House Guest House

The accommodation is perfect, the breakfast was delicious with lots of choice, the bed really comfortable and plenty of plug sockets, including an extension lead for charging phones etc. The towels are really soft too, which is great. We stayed 1 night as going to Princes theatre (a 3 minute easy walk) and will definitely book again for future visits. The host was lovely and really welcoming.

It would be nice to have some washing up facilities (liquid, sponge and tea towel) so that crockery can be washed between uses. We had a takeaway as it was late after the theatre to get something to eat in a restaurant, so we used the plates and cutlery but had no way of washing these up ready for breakfast.

Owners lovely and helpful ran out of milk in room gave them a knock and they gave us some more always happy to help ☺️ location is perfect short walk to everything. I was under the impression that breakfast would be cooked and warm but it was displayed in the room for self service. Fridge, kettel, toaster cutlery all present in the room.

Breakfast foods were left in the room, which had a fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle. Decent selection. Had lots of space and room was lovely. Good location near the pier, station and the high street. Good facilities in the room and no issues with the WiFi

I could hear EVERYTHING that happened in the room above me. The key was a bit tricky to get in the lock from outside to unlock the door. Personal opinion was that the bathroom could do with some sort of extractor and I didn't particularly like the shower head, but it did the job.

Absolutely terrible hotel — do not recommend! The hotel was awful. The toilet was shared with everyone, which was not mentioned in the description at all. The photos also do not match the reality. We arrived with two small children, which turned out to be a huge mistake. The room was dirty and clearly had not been cleaned properly. The bedding smelled horrible and the overall hygiene was unacceptable. We were extremely disappointed with our stay. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially families with children.

Absolutely spotless, with everything you could need. The fresh milk, bread, assorted spreads, and fresh fruit were a lovely touch and were topped up during our stay. My husband arrived before the checkin time, and was very kindly still shown to the room. Lovely place xx

Good location close to all amenities. Clean comfortable and a good continental breakfast provided. Friendly hosts good communication. I felt they would be willing to help with anything you needed and to make your stay enjoyable

If anything because we were in the room at the front we had smoking area right outside the window so with the window open as it was hot we could hear people outside talking early in the morning which did wake us and the smell of smoke.

Cozy and clean, the place was very peaceful and quiet. It’s located near the beach with many restaurants and shops nearby. I appreciated the continental breakfast option, which was a good idea. With amenities like a microwave and toaster, I could enjoy a quick snack whenever I wanted.

Schönes helles Zimmer mit Kühlschrank, Wasserkocher und Toaster. Daher konnte man im Zimmer frühstücken. Ein sehr kompetenter und hilfsbereiter Gastgeber.

Zur Durchreise nach London optimal. Parkplatz kostenlos vor dem Haus und einen sicheren Abstellraum für unsere Fahrräder. Das Frühstück im Zimmer war reichlich vorhanden und das Zimmer wurde gereinigt nach dem Frühstück.

Im Juni werden die Möwen in der Nacht unangenehm laut.

We hebben 1 en 2 juni overnacht in een fijne kamer ( 3 ) met uitzicht op de straat, parkeren direct voor het huis, parkeren kan ook op straat tussen 18.00 uur en 09.00 uur, daarna 3 uurs zone. Vriendelijke ontvangst en verblijf, Strand dichtbij, ook op korte afstand de stranden van Frinton on sea en Walton on the Naze Op loopafstand voldoende eet gelegenheden. Prima naar ons zin gehad.

Tv dont work on most channels, the view is peoples gardens and its abit intrusive seeing eachother threw windows, i was expecting a hot breakfast when i purchased the room but only got told after paying and booking that they only do continental cold breakfast which should include fresh pastrys and was only given a loaf of bread and a pint of milk and child size cereal box of cornflakes and rice crispies wasnot impressed, it also wasnot hoovered or mopped before our stay

Incredible find. Was greeted on the door by Sofia who came across as very friendly and kind. She showed me to my room, which was conveniently right next to the entrance! She explained everything I needed to know and showed me where to ask if I needed anything. Breakfast available in room: cereals, bread, butters, jams, etc. These were topped up daily, with clean plates, toilet paper and such changed too. Room was equipped with microwave, toaster, fridge, cutlery. Everything you need to self-cater. This was ideal for me. The location is good, with supermarkets, cafés, restaurants etc within walking distance. Short drive to larger stores too. Plenty of takeaways within the area as well. Of course, beach and pier within walking distance too. The room was simple, but very clean and ideal for a single man. Shower was good and water hot. It was explained that I may have issues waiting for hot water due to room location, but was never a problem. I've stayed in thousands of b&bs and hotels in my time, and when factoring in value for money this is very high on the list. Genuinely have no complaints at all.

Great location , and beautiful room well equipped for all your needs . Loved the personal touches . Light and airy room . With such a comfy bed . Sofia and her husband were so welcoming and informative . The room was immaculate and breakfast re stocked for the next day with plenty of tea and coffee . We absolutely loved staying here and will return . Also there is parking which was amazing . As even when we had checked out we were allowed to stay until we had finished shopping and going to the pier .

Great location, quiet at night. We were able to check in early which was a bonus. Breakfast was in the room, cereals, loaf of bread, milk etc. with a great selection of jams and marmalades. We got a bit chilly on the first night, the heating was put on straight away.

Can't ask much more! The location was super, everything very clean, the mattress and pillows very comfortable. Paul was so helpful that he even gave me a box of paracetamol when I sent him a message late at night! Saved the night and made the stay fantastic :)

Host was excellent, we arrived early and was allowed to leave car whilst we went for a walk into clacton. The room was perfect everything you needed, and the mixture of preserves and spread with fruit and bread etc perfect for a continental breakfast. Tge bed was very comfortable 😌 and tge location was perfect just a 5 minute walk to centre of town. Will most definitely be staying here again 10/10.

The room was clean and well-kept. Breakfast consisted of sliced bread, cereal/granola and a mix of condiments as well as fresh fruit. The milk was replenished as needed. It was nice to have a toaster as I like toast on mornings. The room was tidied every day and the dirt dishes taken away and replaced with clean ones, the rubbish was cleared as well. It was also good to have some free parking and it was a short walk to the pier as well. The owner/hostess was lovely and made us feel very welcomed in their guest house.

The bathroom was rather narrow (we stayed on the ground floor) and the sink was really small with a shelf over it, so brushing teeth was a comical event. On the first and second days, the room was very cold. It warmed up on the last day. I would suggest having another duvet available in the room for the colder days/nights.

The room was clean and had all the necessary equipment and furniture we needed. The basic breakfast was in to room to use which was good and easy to access the hotel. It was close to the beach and shops which was very good and there was no restriction regarding coming or going from the hotel. It was a pleasant place for a short break.

Our only concern was the parking available at the hotel, otherwise no issues.
