Location was good

both beds were so uncomfortably ( springs coming through ) all had very bad sleep.

Clean and welcoming. Staff work hard. And helped out with requests

Needs some thought and TLC in the room I was in. lack of draw space. No where to put your clothes when staying longer than a day or two. So living out the suitcase. Coat hangers to put hanging clothes up. That’s it, was no bedside table but on request was brought from another room, draws on this need liners. God knows what people use draws for. Shower was hot. Needs a non slip mat. Very slippery. Defo needs update in that particular room. Carpets could do with shampoo on heavy foot areas. All this has been mentioned to Becky so hopefully going forward. Some miner things. Would make that difference. This to me is honest and constructive.

I was given 2 rooms that I had not booked: a family room (my room wasn't ready for the 1st day) then a double room the next day that I stayed in for the rest of the time. I checked Booking.com and saw the room looked completely different to the photos. I had booked the bridal suite room which is significantly bigger with an outside area. The manager confirmed that the room photos and the room names are mixed up on Booking.com and Expedia.com This is a known issue that guests should be informed about before they book. I have found a review about the same issue (26 August 2023 by Ross) so this seems to have been going on for many years. Instead of enjoying my holiday, I was left disappointed about the false advertising. Photos of rooms that are not available shouldn't be listed. I told the manager I expected some kind of discount and they did not offer one. I contacted OYO about the situation and received zero response.

The staff were helpful and friendly, had a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. They kept our bags for us as we arrived early and wouldn’t be back until later, they put them in our room for us ready for our return. The room was clean and spacious, it had what we needed for our stay. It was was quiet and comfortable in a good location.

Room one was a double room - very clean in general, kettle was filty, bathroom shower door was hanging off and toilet roll holder fell off. Room two was a family room consisting of x2 rooms one for children with bunk bed (wooden and rattling) and toddler bed, main room had a double bed and sofa bed. Kettle needed to be plugged in half way across the room to where the tea and coffee station was, shower door did not close and mould around the Mastic. Otherwise very clean. Breakfast is not included in the price but does have breakfast and dinner options The team onsite at this hotel are very warm and welcoming. No onsite parking. Karaoke bar directly opposite the hotel open and very loud until at least 1am Very close to see front and local amminities.

The location of the property is very close to the seafront and main attractions. The property is really lovely, the staff were wonderful and the room was luxury! Myself and my children immediately felt comfortable and loved how everything was set up, with comfy beds, use of our own kitchen and lovely outdoor area. We had a great stay and would recommend and look forward to staying again in the future.

The staff were super helpful, the beds and bathrooms were very clean and relatively comfortable. The hotel is in a great location for the Clacton Air Show and the Pier/beach.

The average price per room booked was over £108 per night for our 2 night stay in 2 rooms on a room only basis. In consideration that in both rooms the showers were barely lukewarm, the carpets were dirty and unpleasant to walk on in bare feet, and the TV's didn't work because the WiFi was so intermittent (we gave up trying to use both the TV's and WiFi) we felt that it was poor value for money.

The place was a few yards from the beach and it was lovely and clean, the beds were comfy, had a TV, kettle etc to.

Only thing that was a little awkward was the parking nearby and being disabled. Could only park close by for 3 hours on double yellow lines also due to short stay parking also in the streets so we had to park in a carpark in the next street for 12.00 a day... I will say it wasn't a deal breaker just frustrating.

The room was huge and very clean. Staff were very helpful. There was a problem with the TV and they couldn't do enough to help. Was good that they had a room to fit 5, this is so hard to find and usually means booking 2 rooms.

It’s a lovely hotel. Such a shame that the property nearby is cordoned off, unsightly and run down, and the one across the road is also a burnt out building, also cordoned off. As adults we overlook this but our young Grandson found it a bit overwhelming and scary.

We loved how they had made the kids room a seaside theme! The girls LOVED the bunk beds.

The only thing that let it down was the loud music from karaoke bar late at night. It can't be helped, it's just tricky for parents with young kids like ours.

Very friendly owner, always on hand if needed. Room were spotless with very comfy beds and everything you need for your stay. Great location for shops, beach and food and drink. The pier hotel made our stay so much more comfortable and pleasurable than the other places we have stayed in Clacton. Will definitely be our place to stay from now on.

No parking which is a turn off if you have little ones with you, my room was on top floor which was hard to get little one up there with suitcases and although you can add the wifi it just doesnt work in the room or any where in the property. the window next to one of the kids beds open wide with no security catch on it yet the window by the double bed you couldnt really open it wide as it has child security lock on it. Tv didnt work either so hard to occupy the kids in the evening.

We spent four lovely days staying at the hotel. The room was spotlessly clean, spacious and bright, even though (and this was my mistake when booking) it was on the top floor! The only slight drawback was that I found the toilet bowl wasn’t perfectly clean, but I sorted it out myself with some disinfectant. Otherwise, we had a brilliant time; the breakfasts were fantastic – a joy for the eyes and for… the tummy! Last but not least, the kindness and helpfulness of Becky and all the staff! The Pier Hotel is a little gem, decorated in a sailing style, and I particularly loved the beautiful mirrors! I highly recommend this hotel and we’ll definitely be back in the future!

Nothing in particular, but I’d advise the room cleaning staff to take more care when cleaning the toilets (it’s just my professional perspective).

I recommend this hotel. It’s a great hotel with clean rooms and friendly staff. It is close to the sea, the pier, and restaurants.

The staff were pleasant and it was quiet and friendly.

Guest room had no headboard on the bed, no bedside table - turned an empty waste paper basket upside down and used that. The room smelt musty and felt so sorry for them due to the road looking like a war zone. Hotel next door had broken windows boarded up and the hotel opposite was burnt out. I was a little in shock turning into the road because obviously this was not in pictures. Thankfully I had a sea view which made my stay less of a shock. I would have hoped for more warning.

When we arrived they said they’d cancelled our room but not called to tell us. They then had another room which was more expensive.

We paid the same money as our friends who had the honeymoon suite for a small room with no bath, we were sold the breakfast as the best in Clacton and it was inedible, really poor quality ingredients, bottomless drinks included only if you can manage to force the first one down! Absolutely awful, pleasant stay but more about who we were with than the accommodation

We didn’t get the breakfast, we read that you have to order it by 8p.m the night before but there are lots of places only a few minutes walk from the hotel so it was fine . It’s 2 minutes from the pier so the location is great if you don’t want to be driving. We stayed midweek so it was quiet in the night. Clean spacious room with all the amenities, lovely beach theme, kitchen with fridge, freezer etc. in the family room which was great . It’s only a few minutes from the beach and the centre of town. Wetherspoons around the corner is very good value for food ! We would definitely stay again .

The kids room off the family room was cute and my son loved it; but the room and carpets felt very dirty

SO noisy, lively bar opposite and it’s hot so couldn’t not have the windows open. Next to that is a burnt down building with a burnt van. Really run down and didn’t feel very safe.

Close to beach, restaurants and nightlife. Hotel clean, staff friendly and room comfortable, though very small. Perfectly situated. Breakfast available if you pre-book it the night before.

Double rooms are a bit of a squeeze and no air con in bedrooms which makes it difficult to sleep in high heat. The bar only sells cans of beer not on the pump so didn't bother with the bar but didn't need to. Only one parking space so had to find parking elsewhere and walk round with our luggage.

I absolutely loved the atmosphere and how friendly everyone was, when we walked in we instantly felt at home and very comfortable and then when we sore our room we was amazed at how big it was! I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels around Clacton but this was the first time I’d brought my little boy for his 3rd birthday and it loved it aswell! Honestly the Pier Hotel is probably one of the best in Clacton and we can’t wait to come and stay again soon!

On the standard double room the description is large double bed which is why i chose this hotel but when i arrived the double bed was tiny and we could barely sleep on it. Easily one of the worst nights sleep ive ever had. Very very disappointed.

Very good location, very clean and modern. We were upgraded to the wedding suite which was a lovely surprise, with a big balcony and very big bathroom. Plenty of tea and coffee.

The property was exceptionally clean and well maintained throughout. Although the exterior gave a different first impression, the inside was welcoming, modern, and much more spacious than expected. We received a very warm welcome on arrival and were even upgraded to the bridal suite, which was a lovely surprise. The room was exactly as described, beautifully presented, and very comfortable. The bed was extremely comfy, and the bedding was soft and of excellent quality, making for a great night’s sleep. The staff were friendly and helpful, and overall the property offered excellent value and a very enjoyable stay.
