Chalet Queenstown

Easy walk down to central area of Queenstown. Older property that is getting a facelift. Staff are excellent and very helpful.

The location and the view was breath taking. Harry was so sweet, kind and attentive to all our requests. We will definitely come back again and highly recommend to our friends

We wish the TV was slightly bigger but it is not a big deal

The bed is super comfortable and the parking is easy. It's not secure or undercover, but it's just outside the reception which is great. The staff are fantastic and super helpful.

The walls are very thin so you can hear everything your neighbours are doing. The water pressure isn't great and the hot water takes ages to kick in.

Like the location and balcony has nice view

You can hear other room having a shower and talking, its disturbing cause you can hear banging while you are resting.

The location so close to the centre was a great plus.

The toilet was broken and could not be flushed for the entire length of the stay. I informed the staff immediately to have it fixed and some ineffectual attempts were made. I needed to use the toilet downstairs in the public entrance area for the entire stay. The rubbish bin in the room was not emptied, only one towel was provided and not changed for the entire stay. Teabags were bot replenished. The cooked breakfast option I ordered was of low quality. It was the worst 'Eggs Benny' I have ever had at an accommodation. The toast was burnt and I had to request a change.

So close to the cbd. Our host was very accommodating and our room was extremely comfortable! Wish we were staying for longer.

Harry was such a lovely host. Nothing was too much trouble for him, he was extremely accommodating and happy to help at all times. He definitely made the stay a really pleasant experience. Aside from Harry, the actual place was very cosy and homely which was nice.

Chalet Queenstown was a very nice place to stay for 5 nights while we were there for a skiing holiday. The staff were very welcoming - Harry was really helpful and he cooked an excellent breakfast!

The hotel was close to the city centre and the host, Hari, was exceptional. This gentleman is extremely polite, friendly, helpful and accommodating. He is a brilliant host, housekeeper, maintenance man and chef. Hari made our stay a pleasure with his charming smile and great cooked breakfast. The beds were also very comfortable and warm although there was no electric blanket.

The room was small, the 'en suite' in a cupboard with very little room and no fridge or microwave. Tea and coffee facilities were available in the room with milk in a shared fridge on a landing and no means of washing dirty cups apart from the small bathroom sink. Not what I expect from a 9 point establishment.

I was very disappointed with my stay. The room and bathroom were extremely small, and the towels and bed sheets had dirty marks on them, making it seem like they had not been cleaned properly. When I arrived, the staff gave me the room key and showed me to my room. I assumed my booking had already been paid through Booking.com. Later, the staff informed my friend that we still needed to pay, so I went back to the reception to complete the payment. While I was transferring the money, the staff member covered his mouth and laughed at me. I found this behavior unprofessional, disrespectful, and inappropriate. Overall, the cleanliness and customer service did not meet my expectations, and I would not recommend staying here.

Harry was exceptional - nothing was too much of an issue for him and he was always willing to go over and above. The rooms were very clean and functional.

While only a 10-minute walk from the city centre, would have liked the accommodation to be a bit closer to the city centre for restaurant options.

It was fine but nothing that special. Location was ok.

Didn’t really have much charm or character. Was just a clean and functional room - not much more or much less. The rating the property has was certainly very flattering - not sure why it was so high.

Receptionist was very kind and helpful. Helped us carry our luggage for check in and check out, lent us utensils we needed such as bottle openers, and let us use the fridge downstairs for the freezer. Very comfortable stay, will be back if we come back to Queenstown! Thank you

A lovely place to stay. Very welcoming and helpful on arrival. Room clean and comfortable. Breakfast perfect and served promptly. Within walking distance to town centre. Would certainly recommend.

Although clean with all toiletries provided, bathroom was very small. Water pressure in shower quite low.

Das Chalet liegt etwas oberhalb der City von Queenstown, ca. 15 min zu Fuss, aber man muss etwas steil hoch gehen. - Parkplatz etwas eng aber vor der Tür. - Wir wurden freundlich von Mr. Singh (=Harry) begrüsst, der uns alles erklärte. - Das Zimmer war relativ klein, aber gepflegt und sauber mit Blick auf den See, kleine Veranda mit 2 Stühlen und Tisch. - Die Bettdecke war viel zu dick, auf Nachfrage wurden sie am nächsten Tag gewechselt. - Gutes Frühstück

A very nice reception in arrival. The manager is friendly and helpful. Although the room was small it had all that you needed. Good heating, bedding, linen and clean. I am always sceptical of photos versus what you get so it was a nice suprise to see that they weren't misleading.

If you have to be critical the room is small but that was not really a problem

Bed was really comfy, nice shower. Tea, biscuits and coffee very well stocked in the room

The extractor fan didn't work in the bathroom and the room was very cold when we entered (no radiators had been put on)

Room very small. Not sure why they put a king sized bed in a small room? Despite this heating was only just satisfactory. Water pressure in shower was weak. No soap dispensers in shower recess. Only one chair for two people.

Great location and views! Easy walk to town and great for the tour to milford bus stop (counts when you're up early). Harry was a phenomenal host, ensured we had everything we could want or need including an exemplary breakfast.

Only shortcoming was that it was tricky to get the shower the right temperature

Location is near city center. You can walk around 800 meters. Host was so great! Bed was comfy. You can find milk and bottles of water in the fridge on 2nd floor

Location is great, room is clean, staff is very friendly especially Herry helped to bring luggage to upstairs and prepare delicious breakfast every morning.

We enjoyed the location and it was only a short walk to the waterfront. The staff were accommodating and we were able to check in early.

The beds were a bit soft for our liking and the shower pressure was not great. I was so looking forward to the “breathtaking lake and mountain views from the balcony”. However, I was disappointed to find the “views”were not visible from “our balcony” and only visible from the balcony of another unit - on the other side of the chalet!

Schöne Zimmer, eher klein, aber ausreichend, mit rundum offenem Balkon. Wir hatten eine tolle Aussicht auf die Berge und den See. In 10 min ist man zu Fuß im Stadtzentrum. Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben einen 12V/USV Adapter für unseren Leihwagen bekommen, damit wir unser Handy zum Navigieren nutzen konnten. Von den Gastgebern wird täglich ein ausgezeichnetes Frühstück frisch zubereitet.

Straßenlärm bei offenen Fenstern. Da es kalt war, hatten wir die Fenster nachts geschlossen und so war es leiser.

We had a great room with views over the lake and a small balcony. The location was pretty good & we could walk to town. The breakfast was very good and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful.

The location is just on the edge of the busy town of Queenstown so you miss the noise and hustle of all the tourists. This property has great views from the street of The Remarkable’s mountain range and is walking distance to the main attractions. The property was always clean and quiet, staff always polite and welcoming. While we did not have breakfast, it smelled good and breakfast area was always busy.

If I had to choose 1 thing I would say the tree in the back yard blocks the view of The Remarkable mountain range from room 6. Otherwise no complaints at all.

Sometimes it was a little noisy and could hear chatter in room next door and corridors. But was generally quiet in the evenings.

The beds were very comfortable and the view was lovely. The breakfast was excellent, and the owner very helpful.

The bedroom only had enough space for one piece of luggage and lacked storage. Also, I left some important items in the room(my bad) and when I phoned up was told nothing had been left behind. Eventually, after I insisted the room was double checked, the items were retrieved. I felt like I was being a bother and not believed, which soured the ending of a lovely stay there.
