The breakfast. For the amount of money I would expect a much better breakfast. There was just one type of egg: a ver rare scramble egg. When I asked for a boiled egg, the lady gave me an angry face telling me it is not part of the buffet.

Just that there was no room service & drinking water we had to either take from the washroom / go down to fetch it urself. Also the breakfast options were very less.

We had booked well in advance and specifically requested and paid for a room with a balcony, but were given a first-floor room directly facing the train/metro station. We raised this upon arrival but nothing was done. Only on the day of checkout did the staff finally apologize. Overall, a disappointing experience regarding the room.

Recking ball making lots of noises. It was a smoke free rooms yet the smell of cigarettes from another balcony was verry annoying.... Also they gave us a room that was not near what we booked from expedia

Evening dinner is the restaurant seemed awkward, not knowing who our wait staff was.

Reviewed Aug 26, 2026こんなに素敵なホテルに滞在したのは初めてです。アイガーの見えるお部屋に宿泊し、日が暮れて赤く染っていくアイガーを、夫とバルコニーでゆっくり眺めながら過ごしました。冷房はありませんが、夏でも涼しいので扇風機と自然の風で十分でした。冷蔵庫やウォーターサーバー、コーヒーメーカーまであり、ありがたかったです。朝食も最高でした。 いつかまたグリンデルワルトに来た際は宿泊させていただきたいです。

Reviewed Aug 24, 2026Das Hotel direkt am Bahnhof Grindelwald hat eine perfekte Lage, wenn es darum geht am nächsten Tag aufs Jungfraujoch zu gehen. Der Empfang, Service und das Nachtessen waren sehr gut. Vor allem auch der Welcome-Drink an der Hotelbar. Das Frühstück war reichhaltig und die Atmosphäre angenehm. Gegen den Bahnhof hatten wir nicht viel Lärm.
Die Schwiegereltern hatten Ihr Zimmer gegen die Strasse. Das war etwas laut.

Clean, a little small, but was incredible. Staff was funny and helpful, especially the front desk staff, they were the best. The breakfast was also incredible - great variety, and all of it fresh. Thank you!!

Frühstück in einem Bergsteigerdorf erst ab 7 Uhr. Eine Frühstückskellnerin, die den Raum absperrt sodass man erst PUNKT 7zum Buffet kommt und unfreundlich und verständnislos ist, wenn man fragt, ob man nicht schon 5 Minuten früher etwas vom schon fertigen Buffet nehmen könnte, weil der Bergführer wartet.

Buffet de petit déjeuner avec beaucoup de choix dont une salade de fruits frais très appréciée Très bon accueil Nous avions une chambre au nord côté gare, c’est calme la nuit mais si vous êtes sensible au bruit, prenez des bouchons anti bruit pour ne pas être gêné le matin. Cela ne nous a pas dérangé car tout était parfait sinon.

Reviewed Aug 8, 2026地理位置：在火车站旁边 马路对面就是商业街 有超市和餐厅 阳台景观：不靠火车站那边的房间阳台景观很好 可以看到雪山和梦幻山坡 服务：员工很友好，我中午12点提早到的，房间还没打扫好，跟前台申请先打扫我的房间，吃个午饭回来就可以入住了。找员工要烧水壶也很快响应。早上退房之后问前台当天车能不能继续停酒店，答复是可以，把车钥匙给他就可以了。

Im Frühstücksraum wird man nur auf Englisch bedient, schade. Da fühlt man sich schon ein bisschen fremd im eigenen Land.

If you are looking to enjoy the real peace experience of grindelwald especially in summer season where you should enjoy the outdoors seating with eager view this is not the right hotel to stay in, they don’t have any outdoor restaurants with view to have the morning breakfast experience, they have a small semi outdoor restaurant that they don’t allow you to use for the free breakfast included in your stay and they force you to pay for the coffee there, plus the rooms with view are obstructed by the hotels in front of where there was a construction with lots of noise since early 6 am in the morning, breakfast is the worse of all - in Switzerland they don’t serve you swiss cheese they have 1 kind of processed cheese that we didn’t even try, no boiled eggs, bread is like stone and nothing looks delicious, They have a small rooftop with few chairs open from 4 till 8 only during weekends which is useless, staff is too much complicated and limited in everything, Our vacation in grindelwald was ruined because of this hotel

Le rapport qualité prix. Hôtel très cher par rapport à d autres hôtels qui sont mieux notés et qui sont bien moins chers. Petit déjeuner : les tables étaient sales et le personnel pas très professionnel.

Reviewed Jul 7, 2026Our host was so amazing, he went out of his way to collect our bags from the Saint bernard hospice even though the main road to there was closed. He drove through the tunnel instead which took over 2 hours round trip and only charged us extra for the cost of the tunnel fee. He was very kind and spent some time with us at breakfast too and explained where all the local food came from. Which were from his family members farms or home made jams from his mother. We has a great experience 😀 👍

Reviewed Jul 5, 2026⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a fantastic stay at Derby Swiss Quality Hotel. The view from our room was absolutely breathtaking and one of the highlights of our trip. The location is excellent, with easy access to the train station for trips to Lauterbrunnen, as well as the Grindelwald Terminal with the Eiger Express gondola and the railway to Jungfraujoch. The nearby Eiger+ parking garage and supermarket made everything very convenient, and we felt comfortable leaving our car there throughout our stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was very good with plenty of choices. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Grindelwald.

Der Ventilator im Bad war sehr schmutzig, unglaublich laut u. muss dringend geflickt werden. Und zwar nicht mit Klebeband. Die Frotteewäsche ist fast durchsichtig, so dünn u. abgenützt ist der Stoff.

Waking up to the stunning scenery right outside our window was truly unforgettable. The breakfast was excellent, with a good variety of fresh and delicious options to start the day. We also dined at the hotel's restaurant and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. The cheese fondue was absolutely amazing—easily the best we had in town! One of the biggest advantages of this hotel is its exceptional location. It is situated right next to the train station, making it incredibly convenient for exploring Grindelwald and the surrounding areas without any hassle. Great views, delicious food, excellent service, and unbeatable convenience—we would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Grindelwald.
The hotel itself is a little older, but rather than feeling worn out, it has a charming vintage character that adds to the overall Swiss alpine experience. The only minor drawback was that the hair dryer in our room was not very powerful and could use an upgrade.
