The room was delightful,clean and comfortable

The step down to the beach from our patio.Even using the gate was extremely hard to navigate.

Absolutely loved our stay perfect location .

Warm and cosy on arrival. Fabulous view of the lake. Easy check-in with instructions sent in a timely manner. Clean.

We liked that you could use the millenium facilities. We liked the spa and heated pool and lake front room.

Rooms are very dated, if you aren't fussy about this it is good value

It was very tired and outdated, the furniture had seen much better days, the couch sunk as you sat on it, the heat pump did not work properly. Although it was clean, it did not feel clean because the decor was so run down. Even inside the kitchen cupboards were all marked. It was only adequate

Rooms and amenities dated and basic. Booked for special stay based on photos on website, didn’t represent reality when arrived. No staff any time to talk to onsite. Lucky millennium hotel next door helped and sorted us out.

It's not so much what we didn't like. But the room is very dated and could do with a bit of a makeover. Other than that we would stay again. It is a fair walk to the town but very doable.

Lake view room has a lovely outlook and the option was great to share facilities with Millenium hotel. Staff were helpful and friendly, and day to day level of cleaning was good. It was bitterly cold outside but rooms were warm with heat pump and heaters. Shower head and tap wear had been upgraded so was a surprisingly good shower! Price was reflective of room quality compared to other accommodation in the same area of town.

The motel rooms are dated and have not been well maintained in terms of the look but also the peeling wallpaper etc. I think in a middle back room it could be dark and mouldy. Little things like replacing old paper instructions that were damaged with fresh copies would even help with the overall feeling. Would need serious reinvestment to get back to higher standard.

Being close to the lake.

Decor very dated, and the other room smelt very musty. Kettle leaked and the phone didn't work....when ringing through for in house meal you couldn't hear staff member at the other end.

Loved the lakefront position and hot pools. Great friendly family vibe during the school holidays.

I really don't want to add any negative comments as we enjoyed our stay so much.

It’s an older motel but our unit was right on the waterfront. The motel was clean and lovely and WARM when we arrived. The shower was also nice and hot. Great view of the lake and only a few steps away from the path along the lake. 😊😎😊 The hot water swimming pool is also very relaxing 😎

The couch is very old needs replacing. The bathroom needs a good clean, wasnt the best. Chairs are old and worn out, pillows, chairs side tables,just needs a little TLC in the rooms. Beds were fine, didnt think it waa worth 225 a night at all, but hey live and learn.

Everything..the property is not worth the money.its old and mouldy.the staff were not the any time of day and the rooms were so cold.no heaters in the room.the toilet and bathroom was so dirty and mouldy.would rather sleep in car then sleep in a place like this dump.Don’t recommend this to anyone…STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE

It was a nice spot by its self in its area and off road parking, it was warm and clean perfect for our weekend away. Beautiful on the edge of the lake with amazing view from the sun coming up till it went down.

It was a little tricky to find so maybe a sign so it’s easy to find in the dark and maybe some chopping boards and a few more utensils in the kitchen. Other than that it was a great place.

It's tired. The heat pump is noisy, the kitchen tap wobbled. There is noone to greet guests after 3pm, unless they go next door to the Millenium Hotel.

This motel is beautifully situated on L Taupo so if you don't have a lakefront room it's only a few steps to the lake anyway

Motel is a 1970s building which is dated in both the decor and insulation. It has a heat pump and small oil heater in the bedroom making the rooms warm but being single glazed the windows in colder weather which I experienced during my stay are like a tsunami in the morning. The kitchen cupboard under the sink smelt old and needed a thorough cleaning

The views are absolutely beautiful — lake, mountains, and stunning sunsets 🌅 Loved the atmosphere too, with lots of walkers, runners, and bikes along the lakefront. Such a great spot for an active rest and reset.

The room could definitely do with an update and a better clean in the bathroom. Also think the lounge setup could be reconfigured to make the lake view the main feature rather than facing a tiny TV — the scenery is the real highlight here

I liked the proximity to the lake and the heated pool. The staff I did come across were friendly.

When we arrived we couldn’t check in at the accomodation and had to walk next door to the millennium as there were no staff at our accom throughout our stay. The spa pool was lukewarm at best. The single beds are only big enough for children, not comfortable at all for adults. Motel is very very dated and probably due a facelift.

Staff were good at millennium hotel next door and got us a room there instead. Although that was a lot more pricey, the motel was way overpriced for was was on offer

Do not stay. The room was tired, facilities were old and falling apart. It wasn't clean. The manager was understanding but was embarrassed about the motel and it's $400 a night cost. The Millennium Group should have the whole place bulldozed and re built because its lake location.

Fantastic location, wonderful beds and pillows -very comfortable. Great staff onsite. Great water pressure. Wonderful products in the bathroom. Perfect for a family stay.

Rooms are a little tired, shower needs painting - doors hard to close and open. Light connected to a very large fan (noisy) in the bathroom.

We have stayed many times, it is right on the shore of Lake Taupo and has a very warm thermal pool making it the ideal place to stay in colder months. Good location and part of the millenium hotel although certainly not as polished. Could do with an upgrade but we enjoy staying there, great staff and always clean.

Lovely peaceful location and great view.

This location could really use a washing line under the deck or similar. There was nowhere to dry our swim gear and clothes. We had it draped everywhere. There was a dryer in the adjacent buildings but it would have been easier to stay put.

The location of the motel is good if you want to be by the lake, and you have a car (CBD is just too far to walk)

The motel is very tired and in need of renovation/ facelift. The rooms that do not back onto the lake were definitely overpriced for the weekend we stayed. There was no room services undertaken the whole 3 night stay we were there, and we were only given 2 towels for two adults for this period of time. No additional beach towels for pool use - and if you want service over the weekend, you have to go to the larger/nicer sister property next door.

We had a 2 bedroom apartment with a separate lounge. So lots of space. Located on the lake with access to the walking path. The motel was on the older side, but was clean and had access to the restaurant in the next door complex. The bed was comfortable.
