A great stop over

Stayed here many times. Our go to choice in Moffat. Comfortable bed.

Only gripe would be, if you have room above bar, it can be a little noisy. No good if you seek an early night. In fairness, it was quiet just after 10.00pm.

Located in the centre of Moffat, a very quirky, comfortable and welcoming family run hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable and the evening meal we had in the restaurant was excellent. Recommended.

No food served on a Wednesday which means going elsewhere - but many other places to eat in the town were fully booked when we found this out upon arrival.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel was spotlessly clean. Dinner was excellent. The hotel was ideally situated in the main street with free on street parking.

I lost my wedding rings. I couldn't find them searched everywhere. I spoke to a gentleman at reception area on morning checking out. He took my number and room I was In. A couple of hours later a lady phoned and said she had found my rings. I was so happy.

Location is brilliant. Staff are friendly and welcoming and the food/breakfast is exemplary. We always visit here when we are in Moffat, this time we stayed here 10/10.

There was a very comfortable bed and the room had everything we needed.. The staff were lovely and the location was perfect.

The walls were quite thin and we could hear people either side of our bedroom. The shower was small and sometimes ran out of hot water but we had been warned so waited for it to get hot.

Es war ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt... wie schon so oft. Die Buchung für den Tisch zum Abendessen war schnell und simple gemacht. Dieses Mal waren wir zum ersten Mal in der SportsBar. Während das Champions-League-Finale lief, haben wir viele freundliche Menschen kennengelernt. Das Abendessen war genial. Und auch das Flair beim Essen und danach noch in der Bar sitzen war unvergesslich.

Nur, dass der Aufenthalt viel zu kurz war.

Beds were very comfortable and we both slept very well. There was no outside (or inside) noise despite the hotel being in the centre of town. The location was excellent for a stroll around the lovely town of Moffat. We loved the staff, a really friendly welcome, the barman was very informative about whisky and the breakfast waitress was lovely. An excellent stopover if you are travelling on the M74 or as a centre for the borders.

We always get a fabulous warm welcome here. Dinner never disappoints. If you can get a room to yourself, do so. We had a twin this time and it was a bit ‘cosy’ for two people with our motorcycle kit. The room was clean, comfortable and there was plenty of hot water.

No off street secure motorcycle parking, albeit you can generally park on the street close by.

Cooked breakfast was unavailable unfortunately so we had to go out and find food as continental was not our start to the day. Had such excellent feedback that we were disappointed although we understood reason why . Hygiene standards were excellent and staff very pleasant

Our room was too small and on of the twin beds was extremely uncomfortable as it had a hard ridge due to broken spring(s).Consequently I suffered a very poor nights sleep.The sink had no plug and the vanity light didn’t work.

l'eau chaude a été très rare pendant notre séjour, il est noté que l hotel est ancien, et qu'il faut être patient, mais c'est quand même désagréable de ne pas avoir d'eau chaude sous la douche....

Breakfast was one of the best I have ever eaten served in pleasant surroundings by lovely staff. Superb hotel, highly recommended.

Only a minor thing, but knowing in advance there was no daytime food available on Wednesday would have been useful. Having said that , it in no way detracted from a wonderful stay and I would highly recommend this hotel.

When wasging my hands it took long time to get hot water running. Shower would need instructions how to use it as I'm not familiar on that kind of shower.

Bedroom extremely small. Sink in bedroom as shower/toilet too small. The walls between rooms are very thin and you can hear every word spoken in adjoining bedrooms. Restaurant closed on Wednesdays as is most of the town.

Lovely location, staff really lovely and helpful and food was fantastic we had evening meal on the night we go there (Lamb Kofta) which was beautiful and cooked breakfast the next day which again was excellent. Special mention to the wait staff who were fantastic and really lovely. Already looking to book our next stay. Lovely local shops too.

Good, no excellent, food. A charming and unique small hotel. Really reccomend this location in the middle of a colourfull and interesting town. The staff were very friendly and went out their way to be helpful to us in a minor crisis. The plumbing appears to have been replaced recently and the bathroom had an excellent shower.
