As a repeat guest to this hotel I am a little biased as I've never had a complaint nor criticism. A very friendly and well managed hitel that is a pleasure to visit each time. The newly made area to the beer garden is excellent.

If you are going to Scotland on a motorcycle then I can’t think of a better place to use as an overnight on your way further to the highlands. Alternatively stay for longer & let Dave the owner plan your riding days. Food was excellent & everyone we spoke to was engaging & helpful. Will be back & stay longer

This is not a “ not like” just an observation & might not give the best 1st impression. Motorcycle gear can be hard on a property so expect some wear & tear in the high traffic areas. This is soon forgotten as the place reveals its true self. Best place we stayed on our 4 day tour

Rooms very clean and comfortable and the breakfast and evening meal really was delicious, and every detail has been thought of. Highly recommend you book to have your evening meals there. Stayed here a few times always good value for money. Food in the restaurant is always good. Breakfast sets you up for the day. Can't beat a full Scottish breakfast. Good location free parking nearby and a walk in moffat Town is great

My husband and I booked a one night stay, during a motorcycle holiday, but due to the excellent facilities and service provided by the staff at the hotel, we ended up extending our stay to three nights and are, in fact returning next week for another night on our way home. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Dave who showed us to our pre-booked metal garages for our bikes - no way was anyone was going to be stealing our bikes from there! There was also plenty of hard-standing for bikes around the back of the hotel which is behind a high gate with CCTV cameras. Excellent security! Dave showed us to a big cupboard full of cleaning equipment in case we needed it, all free of charge. While Janine at reception checked us in, Dave carried our bags up to our room for us. The room had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. And the shower was great! Food - we had breakfast and dinner in the hotel - couldn’t fault any meal and there was a great choice of cooked breakfasts. Back to the bike side of things - the hotel has a drying room for if you arrive in the rain so there is somewhere to hang your wet gear to dry so it’s not stinking out your bedroom. There is also a map room to help you plan routes and Dave knows the local area (and most of Scotland by the sounds of things) so can help you with planning routes. What other hotels offer a service like this? We were treated like the most important guests in the hotel during our stay, but I noticed that all the staff were treating all of the guests this way. Dave, Janine, Clint, Lana, Tracey, Polly and Yvonne seemed to never sleep! Thanks for a brilliant stay.

Excellent location with suoerb, open roads and courtyside. Dave and his family are really friendly, welcoming with fantastic knowledge about the local area. The food in particular was superb, Lara's Bobotie is a particular highlight. Thanks to all the staff who made us feel part of the family.

Great hotel, would certainly recommend it to anyone who likes a friendly and unpretentious atmosphere. We didn't try the food as we had already booked elsewhere but would like to next time. Very much a haven for bikers but you don't have to be on two wheels to get a warm welcome. A good bar serving a wide range of reasonably priced drinks. The room was fine, great view of the square, clean, comfy and nice to get a bathtub. It's dog-friendly. Very handy for shops, pubs, restaurants and the chippy ;-)

Nothing by way of improvements needed. If I have to find something, I suppose a dedicated private car park would be nice but you are right next to a big free public car park in the main square anyway (there is private secure parking for bikes).

The hotel is located on the main street in Moffat, so very central for shops, walks, bus stops etc. Staff were very friendly and it was nice to be able to have a drink in the bar in the evenings. I had my evening meal there once - delicious. Good-sized room, comfortable bed and a big bathroom with a nice shower.

Nothing to do with the hotel itself, but you really need your own transport to get round to some of the nature experiences in the area - the bus services are limited in a rural area - so something to bear in mind. But the hotel and the town of Moffat are great places for chilling.

This is an amazing hotel and our regular stay for bike, car or walking trips and with every facility that you’ll need. Great rooms, beds, food and staff.

Wasn't mad about our room and if returning would ask for a different one. Quite noisy from some sort of fan from outside. Consequently we had to shut the window which made it a bit stuffy overnight.

I stayed here a few weeks ago at the back end of a 1,600 mile Scotland trip and did exactly the same this time and so have pretty much repeated my earlier review. Moffat itself is a decent place to stay with superb roads and fantastic scenery, and there is a good range of accommodation in the town. But if you’re a biker and travelling with friends or on your own to be honest it would be a struggle to find somewhere that is so well set up for bikers. I have stayed here a couple of time before, and was very happy to return – perfect bike parking (hard to think how it could be better), a comfortable room, a hot shower, helpful staff, good food and good service and the boxes are all ticked. And of course there are the little extras as well: the drying room, the map room, the route advice (if you need it), oils and cleaning gear if needed etc etc – it really is well set up for bikers and I would be more than happy to stay here again if travelling in the area.

The location is in the centre of Moffat. We stopped on our way up to the Highlands. The staff were absolutely lovely. Nothing was too much bother at all. The food was amazing. The room was super. I travelled with 3 adult children and 2 dogs and we stayed in a very comfortable family room. There was a perfect river walk nearby which the dogs loved. I would definitely recommend the Buccleuch Arms to anyone.

Loved how not just biker friendly but biker orientated this hotel was. Dave and the family run this place wonderfully! The rooms were perfect especially with specifically made storage for bike gear. Absolutely perfect visit. Such attention and care. We arrived a half an hour later than we said and they phoned to check we were ok, we were driving in a small sports car and had arranged for the car to go in their lock up space for the motorcycle groups the have, the owner was outside waiting to greet us and guide us in to the secure space. Dinner ordered and attention to detail second to none. Perfect start to our trip north on the NC500.

Love this place, the owners are super friendly and welcoming and it's particularly great for bikers. Great food, the rooms are good and secure bike parking with a great seating area outside.

Nothing to complain about with the accommodation. The only issue we had was that it was so hot and the loud booming music from a nearby venue meant we couldn't have the window open through the night so didn't sleep too great. Not sure if that's common but it was a bit frustrating.

Really attentive staff with an obvious commitment to ensure their guests are happy. Food was really good and t appreciated the early breakfast. Thus was my second stay and I'm looking forward to the next.

Just fantastic, excellent place to stop with friends on motorbikes. Great food, great rooms, great facilities, great staff and host.

As we were on motorbikes the security and weather protection for the bikes were exceptional - needn't worry about your bike getting robbed or messed with due to the secure gate being applied in the evening. Great food and beer, decent sized room with a nice bathroom. The hosts were very welcoming and relaxed - very fun night.

The bed, too small, I nearly fell out. But thats being picky.

Dave and the staff are absolutely fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble for them. I This is my second stay at the hotel and the service was 1st class on both occasions. The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Stay there, you will not be disappointed. Thank you to Dave and expecially Janine who managed to sort us out after I made a mistake on my booking. I love this place and you feel like one of their friends from the moment you arrive. The Buccleuch Arms is ideally located for hikers, bikers and cyclists. The facilities are great and the staff,the food are excellent. Thoroughly recommended but book well ahead as it is often fully booked.

What an absolute gem! From the moment we arrived on our bikes the welcome was warm and friendly with time taken to ensure we would have an experience, not just a bed for the night. Dave and the family could not have been nicer. The bikes were securely parked, anything needed for a little maintenance, clean or polish of the bikes provided free of charge and the very excellent checking in process began before we got through the door of the hotel. Once in and handed over to Pauly we were treated to a full explanation of the menu accompanied by pictures, time was taken to explain the layout of the hotel and facilities offered and given the key to the room. The room did not dissapoint, comfortable beds great shower bike specific area to leave helmets, bike gear gloves etc. I cannot recommend this place any higher and hope to be able to come back again

If you are walking, cycling or motorcycling you couldn't pick a better hotel. Super friendly, lots of secure off road parking, maps, guides, great food, good bar etc. But rooms need refurbishment
