Very spacious room

Rather tired interior. Needs updating.

We were really pleased to have a sitting room as well as a bedroom, which made it very relaxing. We were well- supplied with tea, coffee and milk, and even had chocolates on the coffee table. Breakfast was nicely cooked and plentiful, and staff very pleasant. Thank you

L'hôtel est facilement accessible de l'autoroute et il y a du parking juste devant l'hôtel. La chambre est plutôt comme un grand studio, la pièce à vivre est séparée de la chambre. Pour manger, on a un grand choix de repas très bien cuisiné, le chef est top, et il suffit de descendre dans la partie pub pour en profiter. Le personnel est très efficace et amicale.

It was like going home everybody helpfull food fantastic as always we love it at the Balmoral room very spacious, trouble with the TV but soon sorted, can't wait to go back. The fridge contained water, milk, coke,and we had chocolate.

Breakfast was convenience based and very little actually cooked from scratch

Room was clean and tidy, to the rear of the hotel, so very quiet. Although I had a light breakfast, what was on offer was more than I could ask for. The evening meal was also light, but again, the menu was very good. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Nice beer garden at the rear.

The bed was too soft for my taste, but is probably perfect for others - that's a very subjective opinion. I could get no WiFi reception in my room (9), but that was not a real problem.

It was excellent the best stay we have had in a long time

Very friendly staff, on reception and in the breakfast room, cooked breakfast was delicious. Our room was very nice, it was super clean, plenty of space and the bathroom and shower were spotlessly clean. We will definitely stay at the Balmoral in Moffat again soon. 10 out of 10 from us.

Amazing good and great hospitality makes this place a must visit if you come to Moffat.

Couldn’t work out how to get the hot water to work in the shower while still having a reasonable stream of water.

Very outdated and needs a big improvement. Ikea type of furniture, small squeaky bed and very loud fan in the bathroom Food is poor and breakfast was terrible

The Balmoral Hotel was easy to find in Moffat; parking was easy; staff (evening and morning) were friendly and helpful. The room was simple but had everything I needed, and some lovely extras - little chocolates for that before supper sugar-low. The fridge was really helpful as I have medication requiring refrigeration, and chill blocks for my cool box went in the ice compartment. There was even a small bottle of coke and another of water in the fridge, which I did not use, and real fresh milk which makes the morning cup of tea so much better. Breakfast was plentiful, with a good choice of cereals, and toast and jams/marmalade. I didn’t have the cooked breakfast. I think there was also a porridge option, and rolls instead of toast.

It was perfect for my one night stay; and close to the M74.

Access to the property by parking free on the High Street was ideal. There were plenty of shops, food and cafes all in short walking distance. The staff were welcoming and very friendly. Had both an evening meal and full breakfast. My wife thought the evening meal of Sea Bass was cooked to perfection.

Very big room and bathroom. Bathroom was very clean - one of the cleanest hotel bathrooms I’ve ever been in, particularly the shower cubicle. Very good water pressure. Comfortable bed and pillows. Tea, coffee and sugar were plentiful. Liked the extras - biscuits, chocolates, water and coke. Liquid soap smelled lovely. Great beer garden. Good range of drinks in bar. Breakfast was great, big choice. Dinner menu was excellent value for money. All the staff were very nice. Pot of coffee at breakfast was nice and strong. Lots of free parking available. We travelled by bus and the bus stop is literally across the road!

We are light sleepers. Our room at the front was noisy with traffic noise and people talking outside. Cushions for the beer garden seats would have been a bonus.

This was my first stop in Scotland at the start of a NC500 trip. Moffat is a nice little town and the hotel is right in centre. Breakfast was great - i ate also at night in the bar. Food was Ok. Good selection on the menu and of drinks. Excellent value for money.

It was a bit dates in terms of decor. Advertised parking is first come first served in front of the hotel on the high street. I got a spot eventually.

Many of the light fittings did not work, reported it and despite promises nothing was done. Despite room cleaning, beds or towels were not serviced. Room needs secondary glazing as on the front of the main street

Excellent hotel staff go over and above to make you welcome they always help bybproviding extracpillow and show courtesy as I have a couple of mobility problems We love it

The Balmoral Hotel exceeded our expectations. We had 2 single rooms & a double room to accommodate our family. The double room was brilliant having its own sitting room with kitchenette & fridge. Very comfortable and reasonably priced. We also decided to book an evening meal which was very good value for money. We would definitely book to stay here again ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️

Single room was plain but perfectly suitable for a solo traveller. The full cooked breakfast was very good, prepared with high quality ingredients.

The towel rail couldn't be turned off/down despite being told it could. This was during a very hot spell so not appreciated. Couple of slats in the blind missing. These rwo items were mentioned in previous comments so maintenance should perhaps be looked at.

The breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked with a nice variety. I also had an evening meal which was also delicious. The room was very quiet and clean and tea/coffee was also provided with a kettle in the room. I would definitely stay here again.

nice comfy beds, great location for us as we were all riding our motorbikes, Dumfries Galloway is stunning to ride around, the food in the hotel is really good, great breakfast, very nice staff.

we had a room over looking the main square, it was a bit noisy during the night as the windows ae only single paned, room was very warm at times and couldn't cool it as we needed to open a window which then made it very noisy.

Lovely hotel in the centre of Moffat. Free car parking opposite. Lovely town and very pretty in an area of fabulous scenery. Room was cool despite the heatwave. Big room with settee as well as double bed, ensuite bathroom, tea making facility and mini fridge. Bed very comfy. Location was perfect for the Moffat Festival of running. The start line was literally just outside the door of the hotel. Definitely would stay again.

There was free wifi but there was nothing in the room telling you this so I didn't realize until the following morning. There's a sign in the bar downstairs.

Excellent location. The lady in charge of breakfasts and probably the rest of the hotel, was excellent. She did a brilliant job, very friendly and efficient. Comfortable environment with pleasant beer garden. Room was clean with a comfortable bed.

My room, which admittedly was a single, was quite small with very limited hanging space. The bathroom sink was very small and the glass shelf positioned immediately above the sink, made its use difficult. The general decor of the room and colour of the carpets made the room look at bit dark and dated. It was a little tired.

The young staff were excellent, helpful and friendly, couldn't ask for more.

Room and bathroom very spacious and clean. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast and on the final morning when we were leaving before breakfast we were given a huge packed lunch instead which kept us going on our long train journey. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Very comfortable and a convenient location for visiting friends. Large room with a comfortable bed and pillows. Milk, bottles of water and coke topped up daily. As well as chocolates and biscuits which was an added bonus. Staff very friendly and available for any queries.

The WiFi was very hit and miss with connectivity. Towels were not changed all the time we were there, 3 nights.

Bath towels were quite small and were not changed during our stay we had to use the same ones for 4 days.

The room although very big (two big rooms and a bathroom) Could have been set up a little cosier. Felt a bit sparce. However the bed was so comfortable it made up for it.

The cottage we stayed in was excellent. Very comfortable and quiet and situated right in the center of Moffat, close to everything.

Das kontinentale Frühstückbuffet war etwas limitiert, die frisch zubereiteten Speisen hingegen reichhaltig. Die Lage ist toll. Wir durften unsere Motorräder über nach im hinter dem Haus gelegenem Biergarten parken
