Vegetarian breakfast was lovely. Scrambled eggs were delicious.

I had to ask for a bread knife for my toast. Only one laid on the table which would be for the cooked breakfast. Didn't fancy spreading marmalade on my toast with baked beans residue on the knife. It would also have been nice to have some fresh fruit and yoghurt to have on the cereal.

A clean, well equipped and well presented room, warm welcoming and friendly hosts and topped off with a fantastic breakfast. What more could anyone ask for.

Super friendly and helpful hosts. Excellent breakfasts including Gluten Free & vegetarian choices. Very comfortable beds. Short convenient walk to town centre and free on street car parking using permits supplied by hosts.

The bed was very comfortable and we had a good nights sleep so ideal for our stopover heading to the south from Scotland. The breakfast was first class and set us up for the day.

So pleased that we booked this lovely guesthouse for our recent and well overdue visit to Harrogate. Great central location on a quiet side street within easy walking distance to town with free on street parking and wifi. Our ensuite room was clean and very comfortable with lovely touches provided such as fresh milk, chilled water and Harrogate tea and coffee bags plus delicious sweet treats. Also worth giving a mention to the cooked breakfast...wow! Cooked to perfection with top quality ingredients, it was truly amazing! The granola with fresh fruits and yoghurt was also a great start to Sunday morning. Thank you Dan and Felicity; you have been the perfect hosts. We couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay and feel pretty chilled and well rested after two great nights sleep. We would highly recommend The Franklin and will definitely return.

As a coeliac I have to be very careful when eating away from home. Not only did they provide a delicious full English gluten free breakfast, they even gave me some gluten free biscuits for our room. Other lovely touches are a mini fridge in the room with bottles of water and fresh milk, instead of the usual long life milk (which I hate). A really good location with free parking on the road (permit provided) I found the bed really comfortable. We stopped on a day that was 35° so I was dreading a hot sweaty night. I was really pleased that they put a separate sheet under the duvet so we didn't have to use the duvet and an electric fan. I slept really well. The really thoughtful gestures show how much effort they put into looking after their guests.

This is one of the best B&Bs I have stayed in. It's beautifully decorated, the bed was very comfortable and the owners provided quality coffee and tea along with local biscuits. Breakfast was excellent, everything cooked to perfection and catered for vegetarian and meat eaters alike. Great room service for a nice glass of wine in the evening! The location is very convenient, a short walk into town and close to the conference centre and the Old Swan where I was attending the Crime Fiction festival. I think what really makes the place special though are the hosts Daniel and Felicity. They are so friendly and helpful. It feels like a home from home!

We had a lovely stay at The Franklin, superbly looked after by Dan and Felicity. Great location a short walk from the shops and bars in central Harrogate. This is a family business and Dan and Felicity were super helpful and friendly, and definitely go the extra mile to make guests feel welcome. The breakfasts are very good. The hotel is on a quiet tree lined street. Parking is on street and is free with a windscreen sticker supplied by our hosts. We would definitley book again.

I had concerns about fire safety at this property. These included. 1. Fire extinguishers had not been inspected since 2021. It is a legal requirement this is done every year. 2. Not able to exit sleeping accommodation without the use of a key in the event of an emergency. 3. No fire door on sleeping accommodation. 4. Emergency Lighting on escape route appeared to be faulty displaying red LED. 5. No fire door to seperate kitchen from fire exit route. 6. Combustable items on fire exit route and candle burning within area. These issues were raised with the owner who's immediately responded by telling me I could not have a refund, which I had not asked for.. Either way I chose to leave and booked a hotel near by.

Only a short walk from the town centre on a quiet tree lined street. There was a warm welcome on arrival. It was a welcoming atmosphere. The room was spacious, clean and airy, the tea, coffee ect was replenished daily and water and fresh milk in the mini fridge, great value for money.

From the first call to book (I booked directly having seen it on listings), I knew we were in for a lovely stay. Felicity and Dan know what they're doing and they do it very well indeed. Spotlessly clean room, comfy bed, great shower, quality tea tray, great breakfast. Only a few metres to the centre of Harrogate and the conference centre (if that's your reason for going). What's not to like? Thank you for a super stay.

Fabulous location. The Cpl that own it are so lovely. Nothing too much trouble. Breakfast was delicious. Cooked to order and very generous high quality food. The room was spacious and bright and spotless. We stayed in the suite, room 3 and would highly recommend it.

Had a very enjoyable and comfortable two night stay here. My wife and our two friends arrived to be greeted warmly and welcomed by our hosts and shown to our rooms. Everything was explained regarding breakfast and late entry. The breakfasts were top quality with local produce. The rooms were very clean and all we needed regarding tea and coffee was available with a small fridge also included.

Dan and Felicity went above and beyond to make our stay extra special. I came with my little girl to celebrate her birthday. They had decorated the room with balloons, banners and even a little sticker book as a gift. The Breakfast is outstanding! The little touches in the room such as the games draw kept us entertained and the beds were super comfy. It was 28 degrees when we arrived and for 7 month pregnant lady I was dreading it but Dan assured me there was a dan ( one in every room) and that was amazing! The powerful cold shower was even better. We honestly couldnt not fault our experience at the Franklin and will definitely return on our next trip to Harrogate.

Lovely B&B, perfect location as quiet but not far from the centre. Delicious breakfast options, including superb vegan choices, which was the main reason we booked. Dan and Felicity were very attentive and great hosts. We had oat milk in our room (there’s a mini fridge) and vegan flapjacks! Room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Great value and a very relaxed stay. Having free parking was also a great plus for staying at this B&B.

This is a great B & B in a good quiet location and only 5 minutes walk from Harrogate. The owners are really nice people who care about their customers. The breakfast is really nice too. They even provide free daily parking permits for the duration of your stay. We would recommend anyone interested in staying to book yourselves in.

Lovely place. Nice friendly welcome, had info messages before arrival and our room was ready early as a bonus. Room itself was large enough, had all the obvious requirements including kettle coffee and milk in the fridge. Bed was comfortable, breakfast large and good quality. Franklin is a short walk to the centre, plenty of restaurants close by too. Parking on street with a permit from the b&b. Drinks also available to purchase and take to the room. All in all , a lovely friendly place and would definitely stay again if in the Harrogate area. Many thanks to Dan and Felicity from Dave and Karen.

We had a lovely stay at the Franklin, parked easily near by and we were supplied with a parking permit by Felicity with clear instructions on how to change it the next day. Our room was spacious and very comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. good quality hospitality tray and an addition of local and tasty flapjacks was a bonus. Breakfast next day was delicious and we only had to ask for anything and it was supplied , served by Felicity and her delightful children. We were well within 5mins walking of the city center, we would definitely recommend The Franklin and would use it again if we returned to Harrogate.

Hot water took a little time to come through and the water pressure was not good. The window nearest the bed although it was double glazed didn't seem to keep the street noise out , but it didn't deter us from sleeping well.

Location was great as it was located in a quiet street & only a couple of mins walk to the town centre. Felicity was a good host and the room was comfortable and clean & superb breakfast. Would definately recommend and would stay here again in the future.

Spent three nights at the Franklin as a birthday treat for my partner. We had previously stopped in the deluxe room a couple of years ago, but were in room two this time. As per the previous time we stopped, the room was perfect for our needs. The room was spotless, the bed comfy and the shower, nice and powerful. Plenty of tea and coffee, with fresh milk in the fridge which was replenished daily. The breakfast in the morning was amazing and a challenge to finish, which completely set us up for the day. Plenty of tea and toast to complement it. Dan was a fantastic host, even leaving a parking permit outside for us to use, after turning up early. Dan could not do enough for us and also left some beers in the fridge, for when we got back late one evening. Would definitely recommend and will stay at the Franklin, next time we visit Harrogate!

Dan gives you a warm welcome and is willing help with anything you need. Parking is available right outside (permit supplied by the owner) and the Deluxe Suite is clean, light and airy. Breakfast hot and plentiful. Only a five minute walk to the town centre.

Well, 3.5 stars. There is no doubt that Dan is a welcoming and informative host. He cooks a good breakfast too. The hotel is close to and convenient to the town centre, which is good - though I can’t agree with other reviews saying the street is quiet: it wasn’t when I was there thanks to building work and very early morning refuse collection but perhaps on other days it is fine. Noise disturbance from the adjoining property was more of an issue, walls are thin. For me, though, the Franklin has some other downsides. I stayed in the ‘deluxe’ room and wouldn’t again. For sure, the room is quite large and faces the street. But perhaps this is why the room was so very cold; the radiator wasn’t up to the job. A hot water bottle is available, but I don’t want to be relying on that to be warm. There is a seating area promoted on the room description but the seats are two hard and really uncomfortable dining chairs. Ten minutes on one of them was more than enough. Room furnishing is an eclectic mix, including a massive oriental decorative fan and a massive wardrobe adorned with plastic shrubbery which all seemed a bit odd. What really drags down my opinion was the shower: it drains very, very slowly which is fine if only for the fact that the water is such a woeful dribble from the shower head the drain can just about cope. Stay here by all means but I would opt for one of the side rooms, which at least have an armchair and maybe better water pressure.

We regularly attend conferences in Harrogate and generally stay in B&B accommodation. The Franklin was our best experience! With just 5 bedrooms there is a personal and intimate vibe: exceptional breakfasts prepared by the owners; very comfortable bedding, no traffic noise, and free parking on the doorstep. We’ve just booked for February 2027!

A lovely little place with great hosts. Daniel and partner were so very accomodating, allowing me to do a mid-day zoom meeting in the dining room, and couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Fantastic breakfast and very convenient for a conference I was attending at the Harrogate Centre. Beds very comfy and mini fridge a bonus.

The hosts were very hospitable, the cooked breakfast was delicious and it was very near (3mins walk) to the Convention centre and the town centre.

Ideally located just minutes from Harrogate centre and with free permit parking outside (obtained from the B&B), this is a lovely place to stay. The hosts, especially Dan, were so welcoming and the rooms clean, warm and well furnished with nice touches (such as a fridge with bottled water and fresh milk for tea/coffee, along with some quality flapjacks). The bed was comfy ensuring we had a great nights sleep and the breakfasts were superb, cooked to perfection. 10/10 from us and great value for money - thanks for a lovely stay!

The Franklin was a little home away from home…but with better breakfast! Dan+Felicity were so welcoming and even kindly made breakfast for me early as I had to leave for a course I was attending. The self-check in was also very self-explanatory.
