Reviewed Sep 19, 2026The breakfast was good and very promptly served. It was good to be able to park in a secure parking space overnight.
The room was very dark, necessary to keep lights on at all times. Suggested cause was almost black full-length curtains and a very dark brown carpet. Not conducive to a "happy" stay, The bath towel was very small, and quite thin and worn.

Reviewed May 23, 2026Wir wurden sehr herzlich begrüßt und haben sofort Tipps für Restaurants und die Umgebung bekommen, da wir uns nicht sicher waren, ob sich ein kurzer Ausflug zum De Hoop Reserve lohnt (Lohnt sich!!). Das Frühstück war liebevoll hergerichtet und der Familienhund war zuckersüß. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Reviewed May 14, 2026Ruhig gelegene wunderschöne Anlage. Das Zimmer sehr funktionell und gemütlich eingerichtet, großes Badezimmer und kleine private Terrasse. Das Frühstück außerordentlich lecker.
Das kühle regnerische Wetter, wir konnten den schönen Pool nicht nutzen.

Die Gartenanlage lud zum Verweilen ein. Besonders schön war das leckere Frühstück auf der Terrasse. Sehr zu empfehlen 😀👍

Reviewed Apr 8, 2026Die Country Lodge ist wirklich sehr schön! Ein toller Garten, ein schöner Pool - den wir sogar noch am späten Nachmittag nutzen konnten. Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich und ebenso der Familienhund. Es gab Getränke im Kühlschrank und auch im Rezeptionsgebäude gibt es Getränke. Das Frühstück war wirklich eines der besten in unserer 2-wöchigen Reise und auch so schön angerichtet! Zum Abendessen kann ich Christelles Bistro im Ort empfehlen - unbedingt reservieren!
Einziger Minuspunkt: Das Fenster im Bad war bei unserem Eintreffen offen, und im Garten gab es Massen an Stechmücken, die wir dann leider in unserem Zimmer hatten. Unbedingt Insekten-Stecker mitnehmen! Was man wissen sollte: die Wege zu den einzelnen Häuschen sind unbefestigt (Steine, etc.) - man muss den Koffer tragen.

Both had coffee and tea making facilities, comfortable beds, a well stocked mini bar and great bathrooms. Breakfast was delicious-it had everything.

Reviewed Mar 29, 2026Gute Lage, schöne Terrasse mit sehr gutem Frühstück, entspannte Atmosphäre, sehr sauberes Zimmer. Swellendam ist unbedingt einen Besuch wert und die Country Lodge eine feine Basis dafür.
Das Zimmer war etwas kleiner (21qm), was wir mit der Buchung schon wussten.

Reviewed Mar 22, 2026Cute, stunning place, lovely owners. We were only there o/n. so not much we can say but overall nice stay and breakfast served on veranda which was lovely. Only downside is it is on a main road (you couldn't hear it from the room at all), but it is like a little oasis of gorgeousness and then you walk out on to the main road - though very useful location if traveling through we were hoping to be slightly further away than the main road. Having said that, we went for an AMAZING dinner in the pizza restaurant opposite. It's a really cute town and we enjoyed our stay!

I particularly liked the style of the individual lodges in the garden. Breakfast was delightful and served on a colonial style terrace. A good place to break a long journey on a road trip.

Reviewed Mar 1, 2026Fijne plek met een heel relaxte sfeer. Kamers zijn gezellig ingericht en met een zitje buiten. Er is een zwembad met prima ligbedden. Voor het eerst tijdens ons verblijf in Z.A. treffen we ook een goed gevulde mini-bar aan. Zeer vriendelijke eigenaren en personeel.
Handig om te weten: de lodge ligt buiten het historische deel van Swellendam, dus eigen vervoer is wel makkelijk. Er is volop parkeergelegenheid.

Steep path up to our room in a separate building with a rather small ensuite shower-room. Water restrictions a pain though applicable to all accommodation locally die to drought conditions.

The room, the grounds, and the pool were all spotless. The breakfast was excellent. We should make special mention of the most welcoming host, Khaya, the family dog. We recommend this venue very highly.

Difficult to push call button at the gate from inside the vehicle. I am driving a Jeep Wrangler and perhaps it is easier for smaller sedans?

Reviewed Jan 2, 2026Perfekte Lage an der Hauptstraße und trotzdem sehr ruhig, in einem schönen Garten mit einem sauberen Pool. Die Besitzer waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Sie haben uns im Vorfeld einen Restaurant für den Weihnachtsabend reserviert. Während des Aufenthaltes haben noch 2 Reservierungen getätigt. Das restliche Personal war auch sehr nett. Frühstück sehr schön angerichtet mit Butter, Käse, Wurst, Marmelade, Müsli, Joghurt und 10(!) Sorten Obst. Alles war sehr sauber und das Zimmer wurde jeden Tag frisch gemacht. Wir haben uns wohl gefühlt.
Schade dass unser Zimmer eher klein war und keinen Schrank hatte.
