Good location, spacious room, comfortable bed

Rooms a little outdated and bathroom was dark and a little rundown. There’s no reception desk. You check in at the bar. Not one employee was friendly at check-in, check-out, or as we came and went. It was so strange! It felt like a budget hotel with the lack of staffing and care. No one seemed to care who came and went and while that may be a personality thing (shared by all staff), it’s also a safety concern. There is no doorman, and there were several times we walked in or out without ever even seeing a person. You need a key to access the elevator, but that is easily worked around. Coffee pods and tea were never replenished once we used them the first day, so we had to go buy our own.

The location of this hotel is simply perfect for exploring Chicago. Just off the Magnificent Mile, right in the heart of downtown but just far enough up a quite street to be peaceful.

We booked a suite which was spacious, clean and comfortable. It had the facilities you expect, it was just a little tired and looked out on a boarded up building. The view would have been better if we have been on a higher floor, we were on the 7th.

The location was perfect, walking distance to everything important. Everyone was so nice and I was able to leave my luggage’s before and after the check in

The rooms were beautiful and spacious. Very modern and the bathroom was top tier.

They don't have any amenities like a gym, onsite parking or breakfast/restaurants but all those things are very close to the hotel.

I liked the decor. The room was stately designed and I absolutely loved the bathroom. The Keurig machine overflowed which has never happened to me before, but I was able to ask for it to get cleaned up and it was cleaned up really well. Staff was very friendly. Front bar was staffed every time I was downstairs.

There is no 'front desk' check-in space. Check in is at the bar. No water dispenser for reusable water bottles. They are still using mini plastics instead of eco friendly options. Their provided amenities are subpar. Doors are thin and you can hear everything from the hallway, including the elevator and all people in the hallway.

Great location, beautifully designed bathroom with an incredible shower, room was nicely put together and had working temperature control. I also liked that the room wasn't carpeted like most other hotels are so it felt a lot cleaner. Overall a really great value for the price.

Unfriendly check-in, staff member (who was not wearing a name tag) didn't really greet me or make me feel welcome. He was short with his words and sassy with me, despite being perfectly nice to other guests around me. It felt oddly targeted and possibly racially motivated. I also had requested a quiet room in the booking and got put directly in front of the elevator, though I realize that the room type I requested was probably the only unit of its kind on the floor.

The staff was great warm and friendly! Location was walking distance to and from where we needed to be... My eleven-year-old granddaughter was excited about the bathtub which she happened to like.

What I didn't like was the first-floor view of alley and vacant building. I watch homeless people congregating eating and throw waste on ground. The room itself was exceptionally clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay again, but it will not be on first floor!

The room and environment were excellent and well maintained. Looked similar to photos and description. Furniture was a little worn but did not really detract from overall facilities. Bathroom with soaking tub and rain shower were great. Location to everything was excellent. I could walk everywhere and felt safe. You should know that this hotel does not have attendant services. You must carry all of your luggage to the room. This was not difficult but surprising. Also the terrace bar was locked and had a sign that it was permanently closed. This should not be publicized as an amenity. I had a problem with the parking. Since I arrived early I was not allowed to check in and was told I had to wait until 4:00 pm. I had just unloaded my luggage so I had to move my car to the garage. Since I was not yet in the system, the garage charged me a $13.00 fee in addition to the daily charge of the hotel. It took a while to straighten this out including 3 trips back and forth from hotel and garage to get the correct code and charge me properly. This could have been avoided if I could have been added to hotel system upfront. I liked this hotel and might stay here again. I should have asked for early check in to avoid the parking issue. I only bring up the glitches so that others may be able to avoid the problems I had.

La habitación sin duda es muy buena, la climatización, la insonorización y la ambientación general. La cama muy cómoda. El hotel esta ubicado cerca de todo, a unas pocas cuadras del rio chicago y las atracciones más famosas de la ciudad. Estuve 3 noches alojado y desde el hotel caminé hacia todos lados. Sin duda volvería.

The room was huge and very comfortable. The staff were really friendly especially Anna at the front desk.

Hotel room was quite nice, very swanky and comfortable. We enjoyed the fresh fruity water in the lobby on arrival and when we left the next morning.

The view out the window of the hotel room (402) was onto a really old building and alley, just super ugly. And it was a bit noisy from a generator that seemed to be running a lot (for another building). Bummed we got a room with such a lousy view (we kept the blinds closed), but we didn't bother to change it up as we were only there for one night.

Uitstekende locatie in het centrum met een betere prijs ten opzichte van de andere hotels in de omgeving. De kamers zijn netjes en zijn van alle gemakken voorzien.

Er werden kosten gerekend voor een sprite uit de minibar nadat we het hotel hadden verlaten. We hebben echter helemaal niets uit de minibar gebruikt.

I didn't like that some of the furniture was very used and there was only one chair in the living room area. One light didn't work. Overall I enjoyed it

The pillows were the worst, just no support; the bed was decently comfortable. The accent chair in our room was tipped (broken) at an angle that made you feel like you were falling out of it and it squeaked something awful. The kind of thing that makes you realize they buy nice looking things and it's forgotten once installed in the room.

Everything was great, one thing that could help would be to add in microwaves. It would make things 100% better.

The staff were amazing and we got to sit at the bar and chat with them for a bit. They gave us a lot of insightful info on the city and were extremely nice and funny!

The room was fine, my initial impression was good. When arriving early, the girl at the front desk let me leave my luggage and return later for check-in.

Once returning, I was met by a guy at the front desk who had already downgraded the experience from the first interaction, with a slight arrogance. 20$ fee for a package delivered to me from a business partner - fair enough, a bit much, but I would not let that ruin the stay. After the stay, I have contacted them multiple times to receive an invoice for the stay, since it was a business trip; however, I have so far only received an invoice for the package handling. Professionalism from the person handling the after requests is close to 0. It is laughable at this point.

I like the room

All night party, people screaming at 3 am. No reaction from the hotel. You charge premium make it comfortable for all guests not only for these who wants party 24h a day

Great location, huge room very very quiet. Restaurants at other hotels were close by as were coffee shops.

You had to park around the corner yourself, which is sometimes a challenge in a big city but easy directions. Coffee in the lobby would be nice in the mornings.

The location was excellent and made it very easy to explore the area and enjoy everything nearby. The bathroom was spacious, comfortable, and well designed. The shower was absolutely wonderful, with great water pressure and plenty of space, making it a relaxing part of each day. The room was very comfortable.

The rooms were very nice and spacious; decor was nice ; hotel staff were very helpful when it came to certain request we needed!

Although I booked an accessible/mobility room; there was no shower chair inside room, when I called down to the lobby it took them an hour to locate a shower chair for my friend who is partially disabled and uses a wheelchair. I was given complimentary late check out for the wait.

- le Check in a 16h00 est bcp trop tard - les télés sont trop anciennes et pas connectés, c’est dommage - shampoing et gel douche pas suffisants : uniquement 1 petite échantillon de shampoing et de gel douche - très compliqué de communiquer avec l’hôtel via booking avant l’arrivé par message, ils m’ont répondus dans la minute uniquement pour refuser le check in anticipé …

The location and the size of the room was very good.

The doors are not remotely soundproof. My room was outside the lift and I could hear everybody coming and going the whole time I was there. The staff also need a really good lesson in how to be friendly. During my entire five day stay, I’m not sure that I got a single smile or hello from anyone on the front desk. Smiles and a greeting are free guys! I’ve never experienced a hotel where you walked past the receptionist and they completely ignore you. The downstairs area is a bar, so you feel bad sitting there and working or anything if you haven’t bought a drink. Overall, I didn’t think this was great value for money and I probably wouldn’t stay here again.

I love the ivy hotel

I have been staying at the Ivy for a few years now & it’s no reward program for the loyal and repeated Customer’s… I believe ivy should start a reward program for the people who have visited/ stayed at the ivy hotel for the people who booked 10 to 15 stays within that year & the parking $61 dollars a day when u have hotels round that’s charging cheaper parking rates just something to look into but other then that I love the Ivy hotel

Kaia was so accommodating and sweet! My room was amazing as well as the bathtub, i used it so many times and just had a wonderful time for my staycation. would come back as much as my bank account allows

I am not over exaggerating when I say that the beds felt like I was sleeping on springs covered in cardboard with a sheet thrown over top. The AC wasn’t working in my room and the “rain” shower head was more like a garden hose..

Excellent location and super friendly staff. The room was clean and spacious and competitively priced for the area.

I was disappointed to find that hot beverages such as coffee, tea, or lattes were not available at the bar. There was a decent area to sit and get work done, but not being able to simply order a coffee at an otherwise well kept hotel was surprising.

Had an upgrade and room was 100% value for money.

Modern, clean, best location . We can walk lots of museum, cruise etc. King size bed room has bathtub. (Booking .com site said some queen bed room has bathtub. But not really. So if you need bathtub, make resavation above king size bed room.

There is no amenity even though ask to desk. No problem if we know it. Either or bath robe or night gown. So we need to bring by myself
