Great hotel, good location, excellent breakfast.
Great location, clean room and full of character
Great service, amazing breakfast, hotel a little tired
Fantastic location and friendly staff
Huge fan of this place. A littke quirky due to its age. Felt like somewhere harry potter would stay! Clean and with character. Nice breakfast and the staff were friendly. Ive stayed a few places in execter that cost much more. Ill come back here in a heartbeat.
A lovely, characterful hotel to stop over in and would suit a longer stay too. The staff were very helpful and breakfast was delicious! Great location for exploring too!
All the staff were very friendly and the breakfast was good. Hotel is a little tired but quirky
Very good service my room was clean ,comfortable and spacious. There is a bar which closes at 10pm so does reception, you can come and go as you please. There is a library and seating areas for you to relax the old style furniture really takes you back in time the property overlooks a square and is close to amenities. The breakfast is lovely with a good choice and cooked to order I would recommend and stay again.
Excellent value for money, complimentary brownies were a lovely extra touch!
Good area, friendly staff. The wifi was down, which was a shame. The room could best be described as 'quirky' - it was a garret converted from the loft. But the main thing was the heat - it was a hot day and the room was like a furnace all night. The open window and the desk fan made no difference. Heat rises, I guess, but it was so hot I was ill all next day. Bear that in mind when booking: avoid the top floor on a hot day.
A great find within walking distance of the city centre and quayside.
Lovely hotel, friendly staff, great breakfast with both a continental and made to order service (not to be missed), overall good value. The little brownies and mini cupcakes at the front desk were a nice touch too
Our stay in Exeter coincided with Graduation Week. Hence hotel prices throughout the city were raised to exorbitant levels. The price we paid at Queens Court was definitely not good value for money. On arrival we were told that the wifi was not working but they were attempting to get this fixed. We were offered free breakfast as compensation. The wifi was working again the following day. We had booked a deluxe room - the room was OK, bed comfortable, excellent shower but the size and layout of the room did not justify the description deluxe. Decoration throughout the public areas of the hotel was smart but rather quirky. Breakfast was good and the staff were helpful and friendly. In summary - an OK stay in a rather eccentric hotel but definitely not good value for money in this university graduation week.
The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming, the room was comfortable, and the breakfast excellent. I would be happy to stay again. The hotel is conveniently situated for both railway stations and for the Cathedral.
I've been several times when visiting my daughter at the university. The hotel is always friendly and clean, everything works and i always sleep well.
So hot in the basement room that we could not sleep. We opened the window to try and help, but sadly could only hear the air conditioner unit running, alas none of the cold air was coming into our room. Noise from the kitchen staff in the morning did not help either. The room location is poor.
Really lovely hotel, very clean and the staff were welcoming and helpful. Great location being very close to the centre.
Small room. Not very comfortable
Excellent welcome. Large airy twin room with comfy bed and pillows and a big modern bathroom. Super breakfast buffet and great hot breakfast included. Really well located for town stations and Uni.
Lovely small hotel in a great location. The room was very comfortable and clean and the staff were all so friendly and efficient. The breakfast was fantastic with a great range of fruit, yogurt, nuts, seeds etc as well as a cooked option. Great value, too. Highly recommend.
Lovely hotel with excellent staff who were always attentive and helpful. Really good breakfast with a selection of pastries, fruit, etc and a selection of hot food cooked to order.Easy parking opposite hotel. Would highly recommend this hotel
The property was good and in a good location , i was disappointed with the breakfast times i had to miss breakfast which i paid for, due to breakfast being served to late 07.30 i needed to be at work for 08.00. Plus Limited parking around the hotel.
Good value for money
Absolute gem of a place, this was our second visit as it's location is super and the hotel itself is a bit quirky and non chain. If travelling by train go to Exeter Central as St David's is uphill.
This is most definitely the best place to stay in Exeter. It’s in a beautiful, quiet location, yet just a short walk to the city centre. The building is full of character and charm; our room was comfortable, clean and we loved the jacuzzi bath and fantastic drench shower with body jets. The staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was lovely too, with lots of options available.
Hotel is always.clean and tidy
It was okay. They left the garbage bag on the floor from the last guest. No view from my room. A bit rough and the breakfast was average. Decent for the price I suppose. Good location close to everything.
Very comfortable, good value for money and excellent location.
Great location, close to town centre and both railway stations. Lovely room, great customer service and brilliant breakfasts.
Very convenient to town centre and to Exeter Central. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again
Loved my stay the overnight guy was great!
Amazing stay in the hotel. Room given to us was very spacious.
Amazing room, worth every penny, will definitely be coming here again
A little gem of a place, booked two rooms and they were both unique. There is some minor maintenance going on but it does not effect anything. Staff are super friendly and go above and beyond to help or answer any questions. Breakfast was excellent and the hotel is a short 5 minute walk from the main city centre where there is everything you could possibly need. Will definitely go back as soon as possible!
Well-maintained Victorian hotel, handy for Central station and the city centre. Nice room, comfy bed and quality breakfast, well worth the extra. Helpful staff throughout.
Relaxing, friendly and very clean. Five minutes walk from a multitude of resturaunts and shops.
We can't speak highly enough about our stay at Queens Court Hotel. It's a very short walk from Exeter Central train station and the town centre is less than a ten minutes walk from the hotel. We arrived much earlier than we could check in but Marek kindly arranged for us to leave our luggage and when the room was ready our things were placed in the room for us. From our arrival we were made to feel really welcome and you could feel there was something special about the hotel. When we did check in much later in the day it was really quick and easy before heading to our room on the third floor. We did go into the bar later in the day for a drink and found it with a great selection of drinks very reasonably priced. We both slept very well, in the spacious room with an en suite bathroom. The next morning we both had a full English breakfast which was really nice accompanied by hot coffee ice cold orange juice. On checking out we were again made to feel very welcome and the nice thing was nothing was ever too much to help. We would definitely recommend this as a place to stay
Just simply relaxing and friendly. Not even 10mins from town centre and so quiet - love the place.
Staff are
The staff are very professional and friendly.
Have styed here many times before. This was the first time I was not entirely happy with the room. Booked a double. It only had one bedside table, so no table or light on the other side. There wasn't a wardrobe, just a rail with a few hangers. There wasn't a usable mirror for drying your hair in front of (one in the bathroom and one on the back of the door). All in all not great for the price paid. However, the location is very convenient, as is the paid car park right in front of the hotel. And the staff are always very friendly and helpful.
Perfect for a solo stay. Quiet room, heating in the room was the perfect temperature at all times. Really comfortable bed. Friendly staff. Reliable, family-run hotel for a very reasonable price
Really clean, breakfast excellent as always and, even in the middle of refurbishment and redecoration the service is brilliant. Friendly staff who will always go over and above. Car parking permit a bonus too while the car park is partially closed.
The hotel is in a great location for the city centre, the staff were lovely and the downstairs areas are well-presented. The room itself wasn't huge but had a nice view over the square. It had all the essentials and the bathroom was modern. The decor was a little odd - Bright orange paint and no headboard or pictures. It just felt a little unfinished. Overall though we'd consider staying again.
When we arrived we were asked to pay, we had paid in advance. The lady at the desk said they didn't have any notification of this. I showed her my receipt. Another member of staff arrived and said it had been paid, after he checked my receipt. The lady gave us an envelope with the card for our room, it had 'room pre-paid' written on it. In the room the bedroom only had a net curtain for a large sash window, and some of this was hanging off the hook. We went down to reception to discuss this. The staff told us there was nothing that could be done, no other rooms available. They said the rooms were soon to be updated. We left after our stay feeling that we had not been valued as customers.
Stayed here four or five times now, great location, close to everything! Staff always really friendly and helpful, can’t fault them, great breakfast, nice bar to relax in, in the evening! However this time we stayed in room 101, which really needs decorating! The walls and skirting were painted pink, there were no pictures or mirrors on the wall, the dark brown floor boards looked out of place, there was an old table and two chairs in the corner and two old bedside tables. It really is a miserable room to stay in. We have not had any issues with other rooms at this hotel, so we’re left a bit disappointed on this stay!
Great comfort
Room was spacious and the service was very good.
What a fantastic find! We were upgraded to a deluxe room that was spacious and quiet. Staff were very nice and accommodating, will definitely use again.
When we arrived at the property we were met by a lovely receptionist but she was the only nice bit about this place! The room we were given as dirty with heavily stained soft furnishings and carpet. We complained only to be told that the hotel was full and no further rooms were available to change to. The receptionist advised that housekeeping had finished for the day but she would go and hoover our room as there were biscuits on the floor from the previous occupant! The low level of basic cleanliness left us questioning everything else. The fabric headboard was stained and so ware the chairs. There were cobwebs in the bedroom window and while I appreciate spiders come in this little guy had been working on his web for some time without being disturbed. If we hadn’t got tickets to see a show we would not have stayed here.
Clean and tidy
Great stay
The staff were lovely. It felt like the entire hotel including dining was well managed. My only concern was the noise from the pub across the street, but it was the first week of uni so maybe that was unusual.
Great location and the staff are helpful and make an effort. More like a B&B than a hotel, but it’s quiet and close to everything
Spent 4 nights at this hotel. Room was basic, bed was comfortable. I would have like a choice of herbal teas. Also it would be great to have bigger towels. Tne breakfast each morning was great, goid choice and well cooked. Both of Exeter main train station are in easy walkable distance. All the staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again if in the area.
Very nice breakfast
Good Good location easy to get to places. Breakfast was really good Good shower Bad Beds uncomfortable. Dated property Mould in bathroom No A/c but fan provided
Really nice hosts and a great breakfast. Very good value accommodation in the heart of Exeter.
Ideal location for a short stay, bed was really comfortable, service was great.
A good place to spend a night or tow. Room was basic but comfortable. On suite bathroom was good nice and clean. I would stop there again.oh and the breakfast was superb.
A very good stay Bedroom and Bathroom would benefit from re decoration
Hotel was in a central location within easy walking distance of shops , bars and resteraunts. Very clean and staff were very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice, hot and cold. Will definitely stay again.
Always a nice stay friendly helpful staff
Bed was very squeaky and floor a bit also
Very friendly staff great breakfast hotel is an old style building bed slightly basic but functional overall good value
Great little hotel, in good location with friendly staff and an amazing breakfast
Located in the heart of Exeter. Friendly staff. Hotel has a lift. Breakfast was lovely. Room was roomy but the decor was tired and needed updating. Bathroom could use a swinging magnifying mirror. Parking is pay and display across the street. You take a chance finding a spot. Otherwise, you have to go quite a way to find parking. Lots of restaurant choices close by.
We had a wonderful stay! Would definitely return. The staff was extremely helpful and very kind. The breakfast was amazing!
Absolutely fantastic customer service-probably the best I have ever received. Wonderful staff who were so accommodating of our unexpected late arrival and early departure.
Would definitely stay again. Clean rooms and pleasant staff.
Polite and friendly staff.
I travel a lot and have a eye for photos hotels post, never the same as when you arrive, this one surprised me, it’s far better than the photos posted up, have to say excellent, room was really good, bathroom too, on arrival didn’t have to wait, card was ready with room etc, guy n desk was good at what he did, breakfast again excellent, so would book again here, only thing is parking out front, get there early as it parking out front is busy.
I have stayed in this hotel a number of times. It is very convenient - car park opposite and easy walk into the centre of Exeter. The hotel is a little tired and dated but it is always spotlessly clean an the staff are friendly and helpful.
So friendly efficient and helpful. Definitely go there again.
The property was great in what seemed like a meieval building overlooking the outskirts of Exeter and the countryise beyond. Only thing is the room could have done with a herbal tea option instead of just normal black tea.
Room was clean, well kept and with a lovely bathroom en-suite. Breakfast was great and prepared to order with a nice selection of cereals and fruit etc. Hotel was well situated for railway stations although there are a couple of steep roads to walk from St. David’s, very short walk from Central. I enjoyed my stay and would use again.
The location is like walking into an altered reality when you come over the hill to arrive. Insane beauty. My room in the original building was 30 feet from the bay with huge original windows facing, so I could sleep with windows open listening to the waves. The bed was beyond cozy and luxurious, pillows on point. Gorgeous room with window seats at every window (3) tons of light. The food and drink are delicious and the staff make you feel like family. I will definitely make another trip back. P.S I published my first book from that chair in the window over looking the bay ♥️🙏💫🌎
Friendly staff, good food.
Lovely place , great location, great breakfast, friendly staff!!
Very good budget hotel in the center of Exeter.Excellent breakfast and very attentive and caring staff highly recommended
Friendly staff, big room which was lovely and warm when we arrived. Comfy bed and good shower. Nice choice of breakfast. Great location. Would recommend! We'll be staying again
very convenient and evreything we needed
Very pleasant and helpful staff rooms basic but comfortable breakfast very good choice and well cooked
We have stayed at Queens Court Several times and are always delighted to be there. Staff are welcoming and helpful. The lift assists with people who can not make stairs. The breakfast is excellent. Highly recommended in being able to walk to the center of Exeter.
Convenient location for city centre. Breakfast was great too
Pur second stay here, staff are lovely. Felt our room needed a bit of a makeover abd the heating was on full blast nearly all night, making it a very uncomfortable night.
Very friendly staff and the room was perfect.
I have stayed at the Queens Court several times in the past few years and it is a great go-to location if your staying in Exeter. Location is great, just a short walk and your right in the centre of the city. The rooms have always been good, everything you need, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is one of the best, freshly cooked offerings i have had in 30 years and hundreds of hotels. Highly recommended.
Although the room was a little tired, it was clean and well appointed. All the staff were first class, friendly and efficient. The breakfasts were excellent and cooked to order. Will certainly stay there again.
The staff at the queen's are amazing they make your stay perfect the room was clean and huge!! The jacuzzi was nice but the shower was amazing!!! The suite it worth the extra! Food was very nice, Looking forward to our next visit
Property was in a great location to the Christmas market, which was our main reason for visiting Exeter. The hotel was nice and clean and the staff were very friendly.
The service was incredibly freindly and attentive. The room we stayed in was good however and really spacious, the mattress was quite hard though so did not get the best nights sleep! But overall very good and would recommend to anyone.
Everything was excellent for what we required. It was comfortable and the staff were excellent.
11 out of 10 for the staff, really helpful and a pleasure to meet them. Very client orientated, the breakfast was brilliant. I will definitely recommend the hotel to anyone. Thank you
Good value fot the money: however worth noting parking is by pay and display plus although advertised no restaurant facilities at the hotel. Having said this breakfast was excellent and other places to eat are just a short walk.
Really nice big room , comfy bed, great breakfast and very close to parking and amenities. Perfect for my needs on a 1 night stay while visiting the university which is less than a mile away .
Great location for the city centre and visiting daughter at Uni. Very friendly staff and overall pleasant stay. Rooms recently decorated, but as it’s an old building you expect cracks in the walls and the odd creaky floorboard. The room was clean, but disappointed by mould around the bath and dodgy stains on the carpet. Breakfast nice.
Very close to exeter central station . In a square but very quiet Rooms are nice . Breakfast was ok. Good selection to choose from but didn’t like the fact i had to ask a waiter for coffee/tea , toasts and hot food. In other hotels you help yourself
Home atmosphere/ open friendly
I found my room bright, airy and spacious. The staff were friendly and professional. The variety of breakfast offerings were generous and delicious. The location was easy walking distance to high street shopping and dining, Exeter cathedral and train stations. All in all, I very enjoyable stay.
