The Navigator - Solaqua

The hotel and room was spotlessly clean and had a nice pool area. I arrived way ahead of check in and although the room was not ready straight away they took my number and called a couple of hours later so I was able to access my room way before 1600. My room was a great size with plenty of facilities to cook (if you wanted to) and self cater. Beds were comfy, air con all good. I had a room facing the road which I heard once or twice but not a biggy. The hotel is about 20 minutes away from old town which is ideal and really conveniently its next to a shopping centre with a big supermarket. Praia de Albufeira is a beautiful beach about 15 mins walk away from the hotel and only a short taxi journey/ drive from Vilamoura and a stunning Praia da Falesia beach. Would stay again - thank you!

To use the indoor pool and Jacuzzi, we nneded a hat, which we did not have so limited us to take advantage of this service. Askining at the reception, it would have been good if they good offer us this hat to use the facilities.

Estavamos em 3 pessoas e foi impossível minha filha dormir no Sofa cama (poltrona cama), extremamente desconfortável. Tivemos que dormir em 3 na cama de casal. Sofa com espessura fina e muito desconfortável. Bem ruim. A limpeza do quarto também deixou a desejar, quarto um pouco empoeirado.

Location was great. One bedroom apartment was lovely.

Only small negative was a bit of a smell from the bathroom. I reported the blocked bathroom sink and it was dealt with immediately. Still had a bit of a drain smell but not enough to affect our stay.

Acomodação super limpa, organizada e muito bem equipada (com ferro de passar, kettle, utensílios de cozinha, toalhas e roupas de cama). O hotel tem 2 piscinas, uma mais funda e outra rasa, água estava limpa e a piscina podia comportar um número bom de pessoas sem ficar apertado. Como nosso voo era à noite, nos deixaram aproveitar a piscina mesmo após o check-out, e a área conta com chuveiro externo para nos trocarmos antes de ir para o aeroporto, o que foi muito legal da parte deles.

Para quem está sem carro, a caminhada até a praia leva cerca de 30 minutos. Não chega a atrapalhar a experiência, mas vale o aviso para quem prefere ficar mais perto da areia ou depende exclusivamente de caminhadas. Mas se pegar o Uber, fica muito barato e não pesa no bolso.

Perfect location! 15 minute walk in one direction to the old town and same in the other direction to the strip. Lots of restaurants and shops near by. Hotel was lovely and clean, smelled amazing from walking in the main door to going into your room. Large pool area with plenty of sunbeds.

Only negative thing I have to say is the outdoor pool area floor tiles are very slippery

Mucha diferencia entre chekl-in y check-out, no te dejan entrar hasta las 16:00 y tienes que dejar la habitación antes de las 11:00 me parece excesivo. El desayuno buffet justito, he estado en muchos que le dan mil vueltas.

Hotel was very clean. Staff really friendly and location a 10min walk from either new and old town.

The reception, bar and pool table areas didnt have the air con operational and it was very warm.

We requested a pool view room of which we paid extra . We didn’t get a pool view as it was a corner bedroom . See attached photo .

The rooms were great, very clean and spacious! The location is great as it’s in the middle of both old and new town.

I experienced quite a long wait on 1 of the days to get served at the snack bar but it was really busy and they were slightly under staffed.

EL servicio de limpieza era desastroso. Si no ponías la señal de "por favor limpiar" no lo hacían e incluso con esa señal intentaban llegar cuando habias entrado en la habitación para que les dijeras que no hacía falta. Y si les decías que pasarn aunque estabas dentro, en dos minutos decían que estaba hecho, aunque dejaran la mayoría sin hacer. Además de eso, está un poco lejos de playas y del centro del pueblo, aunque se puede hacer andando.

This apartment hotel was clean and spacious with a separate bedroom and a full-sized kitchen, and plenty of storage space for clothes. Both the bedroom and living room had balconies. The breakfast was worth it to start off the day. We loved the pool area, and the snack bar where we had lunch on the days we were by the pool was very practical. The staff were all very nice and helpful. The indoor pool area was nice too, though we didn’t make as much use of it as we did the outdoor pool due to the hot sunny weather we had during our stay. We went in there for the whirlpool, which we enjoyed, however it did not have a sauna, which is usually my favourite part of indoor spa/pool areas. The location was perfect, between the new and old town. We walked to the beach and old town daily. Having a supermarket around the corner was so useful to stock our kitchen with snacks and drinks. We would happily stay here again.

It’s not a dealbreaker, just letting future guests aware that there is a television in the living room, but not in the bedroom. Some guests can get loud around the pool area, though we found the area big enough to move to a quieter corner where we could rest and read our books under a parasol.

I’ve stayed here 3 times, the rooms and all the common areas are spotless. The studio rooms are so spacious and the kitchen area has everything you need. You see 15 mins either way from old/new town walking and around 2 mins from a massive supermarket. Ideal location!! All the staff were so friendly and approachable. My only gripe is that sometimes the room wasn’t services till 3:30/4 so I found myself leaving the room and waiting downstairs so I could go back and get ready for the evening.

The whole hotel was exceptionally clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room were HUGE really high ceilings, lots of storage space, spacious kitchen/dining area. My children had a bed each, rather than a shared sofa bed, and they were super comfortable. The pool area was nice, with no 4am towel-marking of sun beds. We had views of the pool and the sea from our balcony which was nice. Main bedroom was really spacious and one of the most comfortable beds/pillows I have slept on, on holiday. The buffet breakfast was good. We checked out very early (3am) and a travelling pack had been made up for us, to replace the breakfast we would miss that morning. There was a large, well stocked and really reasonable supermarket at the end of the road - really convenient!

Nothing really. Location-wise it is a 10-15 minute walk to the beach/old town, but that wasn’t a hardship and taxis/uber were easy to come by.

Personal de recepción muy desagradables, Limpieza tardía(17,30h) y casi inexistente.Solo.cambian basura y camas mal hechas. Cambio toallas cada 2 días( toallas viejisimas). Nadie nos explicó, ni había ningún cartel de información, así que las pusimos el primer dia para lavar y al volver estaban las toallas sucias colgadas en lo alto de las puertas,como.secándose,cogiendo más suciedad. Al bajar a recepción nos dijeron que no nos tocaba cambio. Pedií toallas limpias y no me las dieron, tratándome mal.. Inaceptable. Hotel con mucha gente joven, haciendo fiestas en habitaciones y alrededores, muy difícil descansar. Las camas del sofá cama de los niños pequeñas y raidas. La zona de cocina sin vasos. No limpian está zona d la habitación.Buffet pequeño y con franja horaria asignada, muy básico. Piscina limpia, NO RECOMIENDO, MAL hotel, supuestamente de 4 estrellas.

Piscine un peu bruyante (musique avec haut-parleurs). Petit déjeuner très moyen. Quartier trop bruyant.

Le point positif reste sans aucun doute l’espace piscine extérieure, que nous avons beaucoup apprécié, ainsi que la gentillesse et l’amabilité du personnel, qui a été irréprochable.

Malheureusement, notre séjour n’a pas été à la hauteur de nos attentes pour un hôtel 4 étoiles, notamment au regard du prix de la nuitée. Le petit-déjeuner nous a particulièrement déçus : nous l’avons trouvé très médiocre et peu varié pour un établissement de cette catégorie. La chambre mériterait également davantage d’attention concernant le nettoyage, qui était assez moyen. Nous avons aussi été gênés par le bruit du réfrigérateur ainsi que celui de la climatisation, ce qui a affecté notre confort et nos nuits.

It's not really a family hotel. Their were families there but there is nothing for kids...no kids zone or dedicated pool area. Breakfast was fine but it was the same food every day without exception so we dined out the last 2 days for a change. Coffee from a machine. Pool is ok but not great for poolside food or service. You had to walk to the bar in the hotel. Room was ok. Furnishings were tired but it was fine.

We paid almost €1500 for 6 nights and it was just not value for money. It lacked any sense of warmth or welcome. We had a party in the room below us on Sat night. Went to reception who said that if it continues, they'll do something about it. No restaurant in the hotel .... it was a quite a step below previous hotels we stayed in but to be fair, those were 5 star properties.

Alcuni arredi datati e usurati, doccia con accenni di muffa sulle piastrelle. La pulizia. Il terzo letto non comodo, aveva il materasso più largo della rete, con costante pericolo di cadute.

Bra storlek på rum och badrum. Bra säng. Välfungerande luftkonditionering. Rent, daglig städning av rum. Lugn belägenhet med gå avstånd till det mesta. Enkelt men bra frukostbuffé påfyllnad kan bli bättre vid högre besöksantalen.

Belägenhet av rummet en trappa ned med utsikt på rampen till pool och räcket till uteservering. Rum i direkt anslutning till service och administrations rum som gav ljud hinder. Högtalare till "pool" musik placerad nära med störande ljud och ljudnivå. Belysning i korridor med sensor med för kort belysnings tid, så det blev otrevlig mörkt när man skula ta upp nyckel kortet. "Köks delen" bristfullt med för enkelt kokplatta och för prisklassen avsaknaden av diskmaskin, enbart lämplig för mikromatlagring.

Niemals 4-Sterne. Unfreundlich, billige Ausstattung, nicht sauber - Haare der Vorbesucher noch auf dem Boden,... Lage nichtin Strandnähe....

The room was very clean, the kitchen had all the basic equipment and utensils (which were also very clean). There was a nice balcony with furniture and a drying rack. It was quiet at night. The hotel has a good pool with lots of sun beds around. It definitely isn't a 4 star standard (maybe it used to be, years ago) but it is overall quite pleasant.

The standard not reaching 4 stars. They clearly have some plumbing issues, so during our two first days there was a smell of sewege in the bathroom in the evening and at night.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely Fantastic Family Stay at The Navigator Solaqua We have just finished our stay at The Navigator Solaqua in Albufeira, and honestly, I have nothing negative to say about this hotel. Both families in our group had an absolutely fantastic experience. We were two families, each with two adults and two children, staying on a bed-and-breakfast basis, and the hotel was absolutely perfect for a family holiday. From the moment we arrived, everything was exceptionally clean, comfortable and well maintained. The rooms were comfortable, the hotel was spotless, and it was a really pleasant place to come back to after a day exploring Albufeira. And the breakfast was incredible! There was a fantastic choice, everything was fresh, and both the adults and children were more than happy with it. Definitely one of the highlights of our stay. I had read some negative reviews before coming, particularly about a room deposit, but I wouldn't let those comments put you off if you're travelling as a family. I actually spoke to some guests who were staying as part of a stag party, and they explained that the deposit is specifically something the hotel asks from groups such as stag or hen parties. For a normal family holiday, this isn't something that should concern you. The location is also excellent. You're roughly 15–20 minutes' walk from the Strip, the beach and the Old Town, so you can easily get around without needing the car. There's also a supermarket and shopping centre just a couple of minutes' walk away, which is extremely convenient when travelling with children. Parking was another big plus. There is underground parking for around €10 per night, which is ideal if you've got a more expensive car and would rather keep it somewhere secure instead of parking outside. Is it a super-luxury five-star resort? No, and that's not what we expected.

Just to add something, WiFi was not that great at the apartment, rest of location was good! No that it really bothered me to much!

Staff were great and helpful. Location was ideal and easy to walk around town. The room smelt very fresh on arrival and each day cleaners would maintain if required. Air conditioning in sitting room and bedroom. Easy check-in easy check-out. Myself and teens felt comfortable throughout our visit and would stay again.

The only thing that I can mention was we got the pool view however we could not really see the pool from the balcony, just a few sun chairs which wasn’t really ideal when the teens were down at the pool swimming by themselves. See photo for example.

A estadia foi excelente! Ficámos muito satisfeitos com tudo. O pequeno-almoço era muito bom e variado, o quarto estava sempre muito limpo, confortável e com todas as comodidades necessárias. O ambiente do hotel é bastante agradável e acolhedor, proporcionando uma estadia muito tranquila. No geral, estava tudo ótimo e tivemos uma excelente experiência. Recomendo e voltaria sem dúvida!

Aspeto a melhorar — horários de check-in e check-out O único ponto que ficou a desejar foi o horário de check-in e check-out. A nossa reserva foi de 10 a 12 de junho, mas o check-in só estava disponível a partir das 16h e o check-out tinha de ser feito até às 12h. Na minha opinião, estes horários acabam por reduzir bastante o tempo efetivo de estadia e fazem com que o cliente perca algumas horas que poderia aproveitar no hotel. Seria importante o hotel rever estes horários, principalmente o check-in às 16h, permitindo uma entrada um pouco mais cedo. Tirando este aspeto, a nossa experiência foi muito positiva e correu tudo muito bem.
