Location met our needs & it was quiet
Location, cleanliness.
Beds too small, not comfortable. For a couple a queen or king would be better
The cleanliness and how hygienic it was The beds are very comfortable The views are amazing and location is very good
The gym was worn out and some equipments were not working + lack of space and equipments Room service could have been better Price is a little too expensive
Front foyer and bar area are very well presented.
I feel the rooms are not a great size at all for the money you pay. Nearly £400 for one night in a queen room, it was tiny and shower/bath room was standard. Clean enough
Modern, clean, spacious rooms. Quiet area away from the busiest parts of Old Town, but still convenient walking distance to the main areas.
It might have been nice to be a tad bit closer to the busier parts of Edinburgh but honestly I appreciated how quiet the area was!
Lovely hotel, friendly staff.
The price- very expensive!
What a beautiful hotel! We stayed at Voco after flying back from Greece, before we headed home and it was just what we needed. As soon as we walked in, the staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was beautiful and comfortable, the restaurant provided another friendly service and delicious food, and afterwards we slept well. At breakfast we were once again welcomed and served by friendly staff and the food was the perfect way to start our day. A noted hotel for future visits and we’ll be recommending Voco Edinburgh.
Loved staying at the Voco. Was in a great location to walk everywhere. Hotel was lovely and Staff very nice and Helpful

Great location, close to city centre, really modern and comfortable. Staff were excellent in particular Pauline at Front Office who was exceptionally helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was also very good, great selection. Would stay again when in Edinburgh.
Nothing,

Location, cleanliness, comfort
Bit expensive but there was a festival so may have impacted the cost. Expected a bigger room for that rate.
Voco is very welcoming. The staff are very friendly. Rooms are very clean.
There were no hotel slippers provided.
Hyvin siisti, moderni hotelli. Palvelualtis henkilökunta. Aamiainen erittäin hyvä ja monipuolinen. Huoneissa hyvä ilmastointi ja lämmönsäätö. Sijainti loistava, kävelymatka keskustaan. Tulisin tänne seuraavalla vierailullakin.

Modern, sauber und freundliches Personal
Amazing property, great location, and clean rooms. Provided us an early check in as well! Super helpful staff. Highly recommend.
The staff specially Pret in the reception

New and clean, good location, staff were superb.
Quite warm in the rooms
Convenient. Ms. Ana was great! She was very friendly. The rest of the staff seemed depressed and pissed at the world.
The breakfast is always the same and no flavor. People constantly smoking outside, I couldn’t even go sit enjoy the facility because all I could breath was nicotine.
Comfortable setting. Nice lounge in the lobby and restaurant. Our room was small but very comfortable.
Some trash by the front door which was sad. The carpet in our room was stained which was too bad because otherwise it was very clean.
Clean, easy to get to. In a quiet area. Helpful staff
All good

The hotel's location is excellent, providing easy access to the main attractions, restaurants, and public transportation, which made the stay very convenient and enjoyable. The breakfast service is of excellent quality, offering a good variety of fresh and delicious products to suit different tastes and preferences. The cleanliness of the room also deserves special mention. It was consistently spotless, well-organized, and meticulously maintained throughout the stay, contributing to a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. Overall, it was an excellent experience, and I highly recommend this hotel for its outstanding location, high-quality breakfast, and exceptional standards of cleanliness. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the receptionist, Sajal, who welcomed us during our stay at Voco hotel in Haymarkey, Edinburgh. From the very first moment, he was incredibly friendly, professional, and helpful, making us feel truly welcome. He was always available to assist us, with a genuine smile and great attention to detail, making our experience even more enjoyable. His dedication, kindness, and outstanding customer service made all the difference. He is undoubtedly a great example of true hospitality and a valuable asset to the hotel. Thank you so much for your care and for helping make our stay a truly memorable one! Greetings from Jorge and Jesus Rodrigues from Madeira Island, Portugal.
Good design in a convenient location
Location, nice staff, good breakfast, beautiful view
Small room
Great service with friendly staff and nice location. Just a short walk to the Royal Mile.
We stayed on Monday and Tuesday last week. 10/10 service and couldn’t do enough for us. Upgraded our room on arrival and checked in 10am instead of having to wait until 3pm Fantastic rooms and overall great experience. Thanks all
We stayed at the VOCO Edinburgh Haymarket Hotel at the beginning of the Nordic Visitor Tour of Scotland. This trip was in celebration of our 50th Wedding Anniversary. The Manager, Bajal surprised us with a complimentary bottle of Prosecco! What a thoughtful & delightful surprise! We really enjoyed that warm welcome.
Nice hotel with nice rooms and good location
The cleaning og my room. They didn’t even make the bed just moved my coffee cup and added a bottle af water
There was not much around the hotel, but it was in a good location to walk to several sightseeing destinations. The front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
The room was small. It was hard to find places for our luggage. The bathroom was extremely small. No plug for a hairdryer inside the bathroom. The shower is not fully enclosed so water splashes out onto the tile.

Location and friendly staff
Cost for any room service like bringing food from hotel restaurant,
Wonderful stay in an exceptional hotel. The staff were all superb and made us so welcome and exceeded all our expectations. It was our anniversary and they all ensured it was the most special occasion. Highly recommended. Will be staying again on my next trip to Edinburgh.
Location
Unexpected additional £30 deposit, this should have been refunded on checkout. I have not received this back. Breakfast was poor, with cheap sausages and very dry bacon, although the fruit and Greek yogurt was nice.
All the receptionist Except one of them, housekeeper. breakfast
The receptionist ( Momo ) was not friendly, not welcoming Didn’t explain many things like that I have to register for the car park but to get the 50% discount
Had a lovely time here, was served by Damien. Fantastic bartender would definitely come again!!
Visited the hotel for a work event, I was looked after by a lovely chap named Demian who made us feel at so at home while visiting Edinburgh, I’d happily visit again when the occasion arises, fantastic service!
Second time in Edinburgh, second time at Voco. The location, the ambience and the new dinner’s menu. Very good.
There are still few choices for gluten and lactose intolerants at breakfast. A plant based yogurt would be easy to provide.

What a great hotel and location to walk and explore and still get out of the chaos! The staff are friendly and helpful, the restaurant is quite good and the rooms are clean, crisp and quiet! Modern and convenient and well laid out overall. A couple of great pubs nearby too - The Fox and Fawn and Teuchers! Great local fare and friendly staff! The Palmerston is another lovely choice!

Excellent, clean,very friendly attentive staff
Location, food,
Near to some of the places like the train and the conference centre and usher hall
No swimming pool for kids. The planning for the room availability was not organized and we were presented in our room with foul odor. They only resolved it by spraying fragrances in the room.
Grateful to have gotten an upgrade. Breakfast was amazing too
Very good breakfast options.
Room was too small for 2 adults and a 8 year old child. Need to also provide wash rags for guests.
Atendimento na recepção do Sr. Sajal e atendimento no restaurante!!
Excellent stay and amazing staff. Special thanks to Mr. SAJAL and Mrs Momo
Near the center very quiet and good location. Room was clean.
Bed was little bit firm, need to change the mattress.
This hotel was absolutely fantastic. I stayed there with my bridal party the night before my wedding and they went above and beyond to make it so special.

Excellent in every way
All fine
The service and food quality were really good.
The bed is pretty small for a double bed.
I truly enjoyed my stay at voco Edinburgh. The hotel is beautifully situated near Calton Hill, with stunning views and easy access to the city centre. My room was cosy, spotless, and quiet, and the breakfast offered great local choices. But the highlight was definitely Yuting. She greeted me with the warmest smile and was incredibly helpful throughout my visit—from giving excellent sightseeing tips to sorting out a small issue with my booking in no time. Her genuine care and professionalism made me feel right at home. Yuting is a real gem, and I hope every guest gets to experience her kindness. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Edinburgh!
Lovely staff on reception with a pleasant and professional greeting. Very modern hotel, excellent bathroom facilities. Comfortable bed.
Loud music at breakfast(were informed that there were issues with the stereo system when we asked for the music to be turned down). Whilst the rooms were comfortable they were quite small and not truly represented by the photos that certainly made the rooms look larger.
Personal amable Bien situado
Did not take breakfast. Location ok.
Wrongly charged 50o Gbp for tv not working after deoarture
Good location, close walk from Haymarket station and an easy stroll to the hub of amazing Edinburgh city and all the attractions. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was pricey but very clean and well maintained.
No complaints!
Breakfast was very nice, hot and fresh, could do with a better toaster🫣.All good, staff very friendly , happy to help.
Lovely clean room.
Bequeme Betten, sauber, sehr gute Lage

Our stay was very enjoyable and was made more comfortable by the lovely front desk workers. Calum recommended amazing spots for us to visit and also gave us places to go after our stay in our next destination .
Price and the room was a bit tight
Good location and overall appearance.
Rooms are small, bed mattresses can be improved definitely, pillows are bad .
The hotel was just right. It was a brand-new property in an ideal location, making it perfect for my stay.
One side of the queen-size bed wasn’t very comfortable, according to my wife. However, our children found the single beds very comfortable.
I stayed at the Voco Edinburgh for several days, in a standard room costing £260 a night. I should clarify that the choice was not mine, but the experience left me astonished at how a property can claim the title of four stars without anyone, apparently, noticing. The location is not central, contrary to what one might reasonably presume. The room possesses an almost conceptual narrowness: it suffices to set a suitcase on the floor to be deprived of any remaining freedom of movement, as though the entire space had been conceived for incorporeal guests — devoid of luggage, and at times, one suspects, devoid even of a body to house. There is not so much as a wardrobe worthy of the name: only a small door with a few hangers and a meagre compartment above, already generously colonised by hotel paraphernalia — personal belongings, by necessity, remain confined to suitcases in a perpetual state of suspension. Equally absent is a safe, an amenity one would expect even in a respectable two-star establishment. The television, meanwhile, possessed by an artistic flair for capricious intermittency, indulged itself in functioning for a single evening before retreating into a more austere silence thereafter. Cleanliness constitutes the gravest failing: a filthy carpet, marred by a conspicuous yellowish stain beneath the desk, and a bed made with an attentiveness I would dare call merely ceremonial — crumpled sheets, manifestly not changed with any care, dotted with hair and other residues I prefer not to describe with excessive precision, out of decency both mine and others’. The window opens but a few centimetres, reducing fresh air to a mere theoretical proposition — no trivial matter for one who, like myself, suffers from asthma and a dust allergy. Waking short of breath, with eyes reddened and streaming, scarcely fits the notion of a holiday I had nurtured, nor, I suspect, that of any reasonable being. The bathroom lacks a bathrobe and a functioning socket for a hairdryer: showering thus becomes a small logistical odyssey, far removed from anything resembling restorative. The overall atmosphere is that of a mechanism devoted to mere transit rather than a hospitable hotel: no greeting upon entering or leaving, a sense of being a number rather than a guest, in perfect and dispiriting beehive fashion. The staff, animated by commendable, if sterile, goodwill on certain occasions, did not prove quite equal to the task: upon requesting directions to a nearby cobbler, we were handed, with disarming confidence, a sheet bearing a driving route (eight minutes), passed off as a walking route, with an address that was, moreover, incorrect. The result was the abandonment of said sheet in favour of a telephone, a solution to which we ought, in all likelihood, to have resorted from the outset, sparing ourselves the intermediary. Among the few points in its favour: the Wi-Fi proved reliable, breakfast remained within the bounds of acceptable without ever being memorable, and the room, being on the top floor, at least enjoyed a pleasant view — a small luxury that rendered the cell almost bearable. I think with genuine compassion of those on the lower floors, who endured the same cramped quarters without even that consolation. On the whole, a hotel that perhaps serves its purpose for those requiring no more than a bed in “business” mode, without pretensions of any kind. For those longing for relaxation, comfort, or simply a genuine holiday, I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere — and holding onto their £260 a night for an experience that might, at last, prove worthy of it.
Very modern nicely appointed rooms. Room was a little small but I appreciated the great view nice barroom and shower and modern clean aesthetic. Gym was average and I wish the hotel offered an à la cart grab and go breakfast but otherwise I highly recommend
The hotel was lovely - really modern and furnished beautifully. We had an upgrade to our room as it was our anniversary, so it included a jetted bath. We also had little cup cakes and a nice card in our room, which was a special touch. The reception staff and one blonde lady at breakfast were very professional and helpful
The location was quite far out from the main attractions, so you either had a long walk (around 25 mins) to get to the castle area or you had to pay for a taxi/uber. These were only around £5-£10 so it wasn't bank breaking. As we're not early risers and didn't get down to breakfast until around 9.30am, some of the hot breakfast items (like the fried eggs) had been sitting a while and were all dry and weren't being replenished. They probably would have cooked more if we'd asked though
Great Hotel and excellent customer service

Really enjoyed our stay! The room had a queen bed plus a sofa bed that worked perfectly for the three of us. It felt like great value for money, especially being in such a peaceful spot away from the busy centre. Staff were really friendly and welcoming, check-in and check-out were smooth, and the hotel was spotlessly clean with excellent housekeeping. Beds were comfortable too. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.
The upgrade :)
Good breakfast, and a clean, spacious bathroom. A special thanks to Mr. Culmn at the reception, who went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. He helped us organize our daily plans and travel arrangements, and his support was greatly appreciated.

I stayed here with my tour for four nights and it’s an excellent hotel with excellent service and a great location. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars was that we had dinner here every night and the food was not very good. Each night they had a different theme and was not very good or edible. It was a short walk to old town, which was quite convenient. The rooms were spotless large for Europe with modern amenities.
We had a perfect stay at voco Edinburgh Haymarket by IHG! From the moment we arrived, everything was excellent. The hotel is modern, clean, and beautifully designed, with a great location for exploring Edinburgh. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The bed was very comfortable, and we slept wonderfully each night. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices, and all the facilities were well maintained. Every detail of our stay exceeded our expectations, making our trip even more special. We truly had a perfect time and couldn't have asked for a better experience. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Edinburgh and will definitely stay here again in the future. Thank you to the whole team for making our stay so memorable!
