Mercure Edinburgh Haymarket

The location of the hotel is perfect. It is a very short walk (10 minutes approximately) from Haymarket train station. Atmosphere was very good and the staff were fantastic and keen to help. The rooms were lovely and enjoyed the welcome chocolates and biscuits when I arrived. The pillows were hard though and that needs changing and amenities in the fridge (mini bar) were quite cheap in terms of cheap soda and would have been better if there was a can of coca cola in there instead. The TV had issues too with the remote control having a foreign language and not calibrating with the TV. The value of the hotel was good and I am pleased with the price paid. The hotel room was very clean and spotless. The noise level was absolutely fine with no concerns. I would give 5/5 stars nevertheless and the food was amazing and enjoyed my dinner (Chicken burger/tiramisu for dessert). I would be happy to stay here ago and would love to do so. I hope the hotel will make the changes above to improve the stay in future.

Habitacio molt gran comode i agradable a mès de no sentir cap soroll. Esmorzar molt divers i molt bo, del tot recomanable, fabulos.

El llit era una mica incomode i sobretot els coixins que et posan dos pero petits encara que siguin gruixots, no em va convence això.

Wir hatten ein tolles Zimmer, das Personal war sehr freundlich und das Frühstück sehr gut.

The room was very well equipped and the beds were super comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was excellent, with varied food choices and nice tea. The room was in a quiet location which we appreciated.

The hotel and the room were clean and fresh.

We arrived around 8:30 AM after an overnight flight, hoping to get into our room early. They did not have a room available, which I totally understand. But I found it odd that the person who was on the desk had a very casual golf shirt on that was dirty! It’s a small point, but it’s the first impression when we arrived at the hotel and this employee was simply not dressed very professionally.

Lo que más me gustó del alojamiento fue la ubicación. Está a unos 20 minutos andando de los principales lugares de interés de Edimburgo y tiene paradas de autobús muy cerca, con buena comunicación para desplazarse por la ciudad.

No me gustó la habitación. La cama se hundía y resultaba muy incómoda. Además, el extractor del baño hacía muchísimo ruido, hasta el punto de que no pudimos descansar prácticamente nada durante las dos noches. Hemos salido bastante descontentas con la estancia.

Colazione molto buona e completa. Complimenti.

I arrived at the merure haymarket everything was good at reception but when we got to our room there were no T-bags or sugar and no remote control for the TV , we couldn't find the hairdryer we were told it's on the shelf but we had opened the door to the toilet upon entering, it's a sliding door and when opened hides the storage are where the hairdryer was.and the light on the left side of the bed refused to go out tried all light switches in the room only to be told on departure there was a BUTTON somewhere, I unscrewed the bulb to switch it off.😡😡

Breakfast was cold even though they advertise hot cooked breakfast, there was no fresh orange juice it was diluted through a cooler and had to wait 10 minutes as no one had noticed that the bag of concentrate was finnished.not happy , I would like a refund for the breakfast 😡😡

Πολύ όμορφη εμπειρία διαμονής στο Εδιμβούργο! Η τοποθεσία του ξενοδοχείου είναι εξαιρετική, κοντά στα σημαντικότερα αξιοθέατα και ιδανική για να εξερευνήσεις την πόλη με τα πόδια. Το πρωινό ήταν πολύ καλό, με αρκετές επιλογές και φρέσκα προϊόντα. Το προσωπικό ήταν ιδιαίτερα ευγενικό, φιλικό και εξυπηρετικό καθ’ όλη τη διάρκεια της διαμονής μας. Το δωμάτιο ήταν καθαρό και άνετο και η συνολική ατμόσφαιρα πολύ ευχάριστη. Θα το επιλέγαμε ξανά και το προτείνουμε ανεπιφύλακτα!

Το μόνο αρνητικό είναι ότι η τιμή ήταν αρκετά υψηλή για μόλις 3 βράδια.

WiFi was not good kept falling off and was so slow almost unusable. I did let them know but it didn’t seem to improve

Everything, However the staff were the jewels in the Hotels crown. Pleasant, friendly, super helpful, five star treatment all the way.

Onsite parking, BUT you are talking about near the centre of Edinburgh HOWEVER parking was 5 minutes away and worked well

Ideal location for exploring the city of Edinburgh. Housekeeping staff were lovely. Left a nice birthday card and a small bar of chocolate on the bed on our arrival.

Only thing I’d suggest is a different pillow option. One was too firm, the other too soft.

Das Hotel hat eine super Lage und es ist ziemlich ruhig. Man kommt überall hin und ist etwa 15 Gehminuten vom Stadtzentrum entfernt. Das Zimmer war klein aber ganz okay.

Der Blick aus dem Zimmer ging direkt auf das Nebengebäude auf dem Müllsäcke aufeinander gestapelt waren. Der Frühstücksraum ist deutlich zu klein für die Anzahl an Zimmer. Das Personal war auch total überfordert. Hier sollte man vielleicht etwas an der Organisation arbeiten.

It was clean enough, and the street was quiet. Also, the breakfast food was okay (but not the coffee). See below!

Sadly, there was a lot we didn't like... very average and certainly not what we expected from a 4-star property. Everything about the hotel felt extremely basic. To make matters worse, the location is quite a trek from the city centre, which made getting around far less convenient than we had hoped for. The room itself was uncomfortable; the mattress was far too soft, which resulted in me waking up with a bad back both mornings. Additionally, the air conditioning was not working properly, and it was a warm weekend. Thankfully, we were able to open the windows. The most frustrating part of the stay was the breakfast. The food was fine, but the coffee was dispensed from a machine using powdered milk, and it tasted awful. Given that we paid £250 per night, it is frankly outrageous to be served such low-quality coffee. When we raised this issue with the staff, we were simply told that if we wanted fresh coffee and fresh milk, we would have to pay extra. He acted like he couldn't care less and was argumentative. For the price point, this hotel does not offer the level of quality or service one would expect. I would not recommend it. In fact, I will never book a Mercure hotel again after this.

The hotel needs significant improvement. The breakfast options are very limited, and the rooms have old, outdated furniture that really needs to be renovated. Unfortunately, I also noticed an unpleasant smell from some staff members, which affected the overall experience. I hope the management takes these points seriously and works on improving the quality and comfort for future guests.

Breakfast was excellent- but could be open until 10.30am rather than 10am - that would really be good- they did not do lunch - so a longer breakfast time would suit - people on holiday were tired as their is such a lot of walking .

Die Lage des Hotels ist ok. Das Zimmer war ziemlich geräumig und sauber. Die Bar ist ziemlich auch spät noch offen.

Расположение. До Grassmarket идти минут 15, а это уже часть старого города. Рядом супермаркет Tesco за углом, чуть подальше Sainsbury. Рядом много ресторанов. Остановка транспорта Haymarket в десяти минутах. С этой остановки идёт прямой трамвай в аэропорт. Очень чисто. Убирают хорошо, полотенца меняли каждый день. В номере есть чайник с чашками и пакетиками для чая и кофе. Есть утюг и гладильная доска. Есть зонты напрокат на случай дождя.

Персонал весьма безответственный. По приезду не было геля для душа в номере, так на третий день только новый дали. Работники отеля не могут особо информацию про то, где можно поменять деньги. Обменник совсем рядом на Grassmarket, никто не в курсе. На завтраке закончился кофе. Ну вот так бывает. Пока искали где-то зерна для кофемашины, прошло минут сорок. Для отеля 4**** это, мягко говоря, сильный минус. В номере не работал холодильник. В туалете нет ёршика.

Hyggelig personale, god frokost og rent og ryddig hotell. De var raske med å rydde bordene i frokostsalen og frokosten hadde en grei buffet.

Beliggenheten var litt unna der vi hadde ting å gjøre, men det gikk buss rett ved hotellet så det var ikke noe problem å finne frem likevel.

Our flight got in early and without even asking they organised an early check in so we had time to shower and relax before our event. This made a huge difference to our stay.

Location was fine.

The room was not prepared for 3 guests despite booking months in advance . Had to figure out how to unfold the the sofa bed ourselves and then ask for the sheets as none were provided. Then had to ask for additional towels as there was not enough. The mattress protector for the sofa bed was also stained.

The cost, I appreciate it is August and the fringe festival was one but the hotel room was not that good of a standard for the amount charged.

L'hotel si trova in una posizione centrale a circa 20 minuti a piedi dalla Citta' Vecchia (castello), in un'area tranquilla e ben servita da mezzi di trasporto pubblici, bar e ristoranti. Camera pulita e silenziosa, letto confortevole come pure i cuscini. Bagno pulito con doccia grande Personale cordiale e disponibile, professionale e sempre pronto ad aiutare.

Mancava lo scopino per il WC.... Ho assegnato un punteggio complessivo di 7 perché il prezzo è piuttosto alto rispetto ai servizi offerti e la colazione, pur discreta, potrebbe essere più varia.

The hotel’s location, the rooms and the breakfast were all excellent. Our only issue was the cleanliness of the room. During our five-night stay, the room was only cleaned twice; although we reported this to the relevant staff, no action was taken. When we raised the matter again as we were checking out, they told us they were very sorry and apologised.

The staff were lovely and very helpful Room was okay and location was great for us.

Room was too hot during the night it was during hot weather and couldn't get the aircon to come on no instructions to tell you how it worked. Breakfast was a bit of a let down very limited choice and bacon was like shoe leather. Certainly not worth the £21 paid.

L'hotel ha una posizione fantastica: in meno di 15 minuti a piedi si raggiunge il castello. La colazione è davvero TOP! Inoltre, nelle immediate vicinanze si trovano sia la fermata del tram che quella del bus Airlink, che collegano comodamente il centro con l'aeroporto

L'unica nota dolente è stata il prezzo: purtroppo ad agosto, a causa del festival, i prezzi sono davvero esagerati

Great location about 15 mins walk from the centre of Edinburgh. Staff were so helpful ,we were a family party of 11 and they accommodated us in 4 rooms.Breakfast was really good with warm fresh bread and pastries as well as hot cooked breakfast , would definitely rebook if I was going to Edinburgh

Het ontbijtbuffet was goed. Het personeel was vriendelijk en meestal behulpzaam. De locatie was uitstekend. Op 50 m was er een bus naar het centrum. Ook te voet was het centrum gemakkelijk bereikbaar (10 minuten). Het bed was uitstekend.

Een aantal details waren niet in orde wat ik van Mercure niet gewoon ben. Zo ontbrak er een kluis in de kamer. Wij gebruiken die voor paspoorten, bankkaarten, autosleutels, laptop... Gezien het hotel volgeboekt was kon men ons niet helpen. Er hing een reuk in de kamer. Wellicht had een vorige klant gebraakt in deze kamer met voltapijt. Er ontbrak een kast met legplanken. Het restaurant was soms onaangekondigd niet open.

Het personeel was vriendelijk en meestal behulpzaam.

Sommige details waren niet in orde wat wij van Mercure niet gewoon zijn. Bijvoorbeeld reukhinder in de gang naar de kamer. Het restaurant was soms zonder aankondiging niet toegankelijk voor particuliere klanten.

Staff were very good and helpful, breakfast was excellent, location was good, but not ideal. Edinburgh is an expensive city and hotel locations are important. This was taken into consideration when we booked.

Not being able to manage the room temperature as room was too warm. The mattress was good; the pillows were too stiff and high for comfort or health. Room was very small. We travel light but you could barely open two suitcases and have a place to put them.

The bedsheets were not changed, breakfast was very poor,no plates, no egg, no bacon , no sausage... my cups in the room were.dirty and not changed.

In a quieter area in Haymarket, only 10 minutes from the train. Easy walking access to the Castle, Royal mile and yet for enough away to be relaxing and not crowded! Really great breakfast. Front desk guy and bartender were very helpful in sorting out some issues I had initially

First room I was in was hot and stale and the air wasn't working. Also the safe was broken. They gave me a different room, which was bigger and nicer ...but again the air wasn't working, although better than the first . 2 of the plugs weren't working either. JORGE and front desk guy made sure it got sorted and it was all good after that.

Hotel położony w odległości kilkuset metrów od Haymarket, który jest węzłem przesiadkowym i takiej samej mniej więcej od głównych atrakcji. w pobliżu ulica z pubami i restauracjami różnego typu. Sam hotel w sumie niewielki, na sniadaniach bywał prawie pełen, ale obsługa sobie prawie radziła. Ocena miałą być generalnie gorsza, ale na tle innych obiektów w Szkocji ten hotel jest bardzo dobry. Pokój w sumie niewielki, ale wystarczający, cichy (od podwórka), wszystko działało. Obsługa sprawna, czysto, ciekawostka - sprzątający nie wzięli pieniędzy zostawionych dla nich, chyba nie ta kultura.

Śniadania, ale na tle innych to szczyt szkockich możliwości.
