Excellent, warm and friendly welcome from staff with map and recommendations for Cape Breton. Went above and beyond

The room was updated with little touches clean with a great view of the water the beds were on wheels which was a little unusual but overall very clean unit

The bed was very small and on wheels the metal headboard squeak the lot when moving but overall not a bad unit

Conveniently located, loved the view from our room, the owner was friendly and informative.

The bed was squeaky and you could hear some ppl walking in the next room but wouldn’t deter us from staying again.

Die Lage am Cabot Trail, der Blick auf das Wasser und die Nähe zu Baddeck ( 20 km ), sowie das Lobster Galley Restaurant nebenan sind durchaus positive Eigenschaften der Unterkunft. Der Empfang war außerordentlich freundlich, aber die Unaufgeräumtheit der Rezeption war nicht einladend, sondern besorgniserregend. Das Zimmer war gut ausgestattet mit Kaffeemaschine, Wasserkocher, Toaster und Kühlschrank. Das Bett war ziemlich durchgelegen. Durch die Nähe zur Straße empfehle ich Ohrstöpsel. Die Lüftung vor Zimmer 1 und 2 war auch ziemlich laut. Für ein oder zwei Übernachtungen während der Rundreise ganz ok. Das Preis/ Leistungsverhältnis stimmt.

Der Zustand der Rezeption könnte einladender sein. Man ist erstmal etwas irritiert. Wenn Toaster und co angeboten werden, wäre ein Besteck auch wünschenswert. Es hat uns gefehlt. Der Gastgeber hat uns dann noch welches besorgt. Das fand ich sehr nett.

Room very outdated, towels smelt musty and bathroom drains smelt awful. Some of the pans were dirty. Rooms very stuffy without AC and rear bedroom has no window.

The bed was hard and uncomfortable. The sheets were thin and smelled sour. The fan in the bathroom was noisy, 2 bath towels for 2 days. There is no housekeeping service here. I think there was instant coffee, but we didnt want to boil water as the electrical outlet looked overloaded .ìThis place was highly rated on travel sites.. I'm not sure where those reviews came from. There is no way this is an 8 or 9. Id say 6, tops.

Very spacious apartment with a nice view on the bay. Comfortable bed, and kitchen was greatly appreciated. Our host was very friendly.

Probably the bed. But honestly the price and the time you spent at the hotel is very short, you are out exploring so not a big deal really.

Location, right at the start of the Cabot Trail. The owner was so nice and really funny gave us a lot of tips for places to check out on our trip.

Kaffeemaschine und Kühlschrank im Zimmer. Direkt am Wasser gelegen mit schönen Sonnenauf- und untergängen. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen. Danke!

Great location right off the highway, easy access, beautiful view on the water. VInce was great, very happy nice sense of humour. Room was very clean, well appointed. Bbq use was great and we would stay again.

Honestly, everything. The view. Vince's East Coast hospitality. I don't say this often but the bed was very comfortable. Even though there was no AC, at least not that we could feel the breeze coming off the bay was more than enough for us. Being able to lay in bed and look out the window and see the beautiful sunrise and sunset is unlike anything I've experienced. We would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat! 🇨🇦 Oh, I highly recommend the restaurant next door, The Lobster Galley

We had a wonderful stay! The location was perfect for exploring Cape Breton and the surrounding area. The owner and staff were amazing—very friendly, helpful, and communicative. They gave us some fantastic recommendations for places to visit and things to do, which made our trip even more enjoyable. We really appreciated their hospitality and would definitely stay here again!

Everything was great! The only thing we didn't like was the mosquitoes—but that's definitely not the staff's fault! 😊 They were probably just enjoying Cape Breton as much as we were. Haha!

Der Inhaber war sehr nett und freundlich und hatte immer einen lustigen Spruch. Die Lage direkt am Meer war super. Die Aussicht zum Sonnenuntergang durch das große Panoramafenster war fantastisch.

Es gibt jede Menge Mücken, wofür das Hotel nichts kann. Aber....es müssen unbedingt passende Fliegengitter eingebaut werden. Unsere waren undicht und wir hatten bestimmt 20 Mücken im Zimmer. Ebenso müsste es sauberer sein. Dazu passen die Angaben zur Einrichtung auf booking nicht. Es gibt weder einen Geldautomaten noch einen Wäscheservice.

St Ann's motel has beautiful clean and affordable rooms with panoramic views of St. Ann's Harbour. We were lucky to watch a pair of Bald Eagles flying around St. Ann's motel area early am. Also nearby is Colaisde na Gàidhlig / The Gaelic College, dedicated to preserving and promoting the language, music, and traditions of Highland Scottish pioneers. Also, is St. Ann's Provincial Park, St. Anns lookoff, and Giant MacAskill Museum, 1981 Guinness Book of World Records record as the Tallest and Strongest Man (non-pathological) seven feet nine inches tall and weighed 425 pound,. His tales are legendary and stories show him to have been a gentleman and a role model. Great times and lot's to do and see in St. Anns area of Cape Breton.

Vince provided a map of the Cabot Trail, where to eat and what to see and do. Great position on St Ann’s Bay.

There was no breakfast but the owners were beyond pleasant, helpful and accommodating with special help with our dog. Great sense of humor and lots of laughs, which we enjoy!

It was a very comfortable room that met our needs. It woukd have been nice if it hadnt rained the two days we were tgere but thats beyond anyobes control

Location, view, surroundings, cleanliness of the Inn, and especially the host Vince who is incredible, humble, polite, friendly, and helpful to tell you about everything you need to know about the area - where to eat, what to see, what to do, best hikes, best places to take pictures and look out spots.

Why I didn't book this place for more than just a day. I should have stayed couple of more days to enjoy the view and surroundings of this place.

Good location at the onset of Cabot trail, nice views of the bay (and the two daily-visiting crows). Spacious, large kitchen, nice wooden deck. Friendly, helpful and informative proprietors. Good Wifi.

Outdated furniture, weak lighting (light coming from two fans, very weak). This may be a lot to ask for but many comparable establishments provide oil and vinegar, sugar, as a courtesy to guests.

My apologies for forgetting the name, but the gentleman who checked us in and who is also the co-owner was super friendly and kind enough to give us trip advice and recommendations, as well as a tour of our suite in the main lodge. The kitchen had all of the basic necessities for us to cook dinner and the suite itself (the living space, bathroom and bedrooms) were very clean. The living space was large. The view from our sliding back door was beautiful, even on a foggy/rainy afternoon and evening. I'm sure it would be lovely to use the back patio and fire pit on a warmer and non-rainy day. The location was easy to find and there is lots of parking.

There's really nothing since we were relatively prepared. For those who might not know, there were no stores or restaurants immediately close by. You have to drive about 15 minutes into the town of Baddeck. The two bedrooms were a little stuffy if you closed the doors but we just left them open and it was totally fine.

We enjoyed our stay in this clean and comfortable motel. We had the suite with a kitchen, and it was well equipped for making meals. The hosts are wonderful. They gave us lots of recommendations for places to go around the island and couldn't have been more welcoming. We'd gladly stay again!

Tina, the manager, was terrific. Helpful, kind, engaging. The place was very clean. Great location. Inexpensive. Amazing views from our room.

The facility needs serious updating. We heard everything through the walls on both sides. Our room had one table lamp and its shade was torn. Our bed creaked loudly enough that we made jokes about it. The bathroom fan sounded like a wounded animal and one of the light bulbs was literally burned at the base. Two guest chairs were covered in peeling vinyl.

There was no AC or fan in my room. It felt like a sauna when I first walked in. Not that big of a deal.

La chambre est confortable et assez grande. Dans le restaurant situé juste à côté nous avons pu faire un dîner de homard.

Il ne faisait pas très chaud. Donc le chauffage fonctionnait et faisait beaucoup de bruit. Difficile de dormir en étant réveillé à chaque mise en route de la chaudière.

Stanza con una vista veramente bellissima! Posizione eccellente per fare il Cabot trail in macchina. Ci ha accolto presso la struttura Vince, che è stato davvero gentile ed amichevole. Abbiamo apprezzato che ci fosse del caffè per la mattina. molto apprezzato anche il parcheggio, proprio davanti alla camera. Camere molto silenziose.

È una considerazione assolutamente personale, ma non ho trovato particolarmente gradevole il letto. Sopra al materasso penso ci fosse una sorta di copertura di plastica protettiva: non è particolarmente confortevole quando si dorme e magari si tende a rigirarsi spesso sul letto..ma è un dettaglio assolutamente di carattere personale e nel complesso la camera e la struttura meritano moltissimo!

The view from the room was fabulous.watched the sun coming up on the bay. Nice and clean and really welcoming owners who gave us a lot of info of the Cape Breton area.

Very quiet and peaceful. The view is absolutely amazing!! Very close to the Gaelic College for concerts, classes and a great gift shop. It is an easy drive to the NL ferry.
