Cabot Trail Motel

It was comfortable and the room was very spacious. The beds were very comfy and cosy. The staff were super helpful and accommodating.

Breakfast had a lot of heavily fried items , yoghurt and some fruit would have been a nice option to have.

Great location right on the lake. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and having the restaurant on site for breakfast and dinner is very handy.

Breakfast wasn't provided, so didn't eat there. We did have one dinner that was good.

Toilet was low. Room could do with an update. Bed and pillows weren't very comfortable. Overall, disappointing according to the rating online in advance.

Les lits sont des lits doubles, un peu étroit pour deux personnes, je suggère d'installer des lits queen plutôt. Décor un peu désuet, un rafraichissement serait bienvenu mais on s'en attend pour un motel

The location and views from our room. The balcony to sit which overlooked the lake. The staff were excellent, very friendly, polite and helpful. The meals we had there were all really good and good value for money. The site was very clean and tidy.

Probably a kettle in the room for making tea and better tv viewing with better choice of channels.

Breakfast was sumptuous. Motel is located on the Cabot Trail and had great view of the lake. Not far from Baddeck by car. However, we didn't rent a car and so walking wasn't an option. Staff were very friendly. Excellent base to to explore the Trail.

The size of the room was great, having a restaurant on-site was a huge plus. Liked the parking outside the room especially for us on motorcycles. The staff are awesome.

Only thing I could suggest would be to offer a queen bed option. The two doubles are good but a bit tight for some of us larger couples.

Breakfast was excellent. Staff was top notch both in restaurant and check in. Bed was comfortable and room was clean. View was beautiful.

We couldn’t get any other channel but TSN. Phone didn’t work when tried to call front desk. No comfortable seating (couch or chair)My preference for reading.

Toilet was too low for me or anyone with mobility issues. A small table added to the 2 side chairs would have helped with snacks, coloring books or games. A safety /pull bar in the shower or beside the toilet would also be helpful Breakfast menu would have liked, fresh fruit options and yogurt

L’amabilité du personnel n’était pas égale. Nous avions réservé 2 nuits non consécutives. Le 1er jour, le personnel était exceptionnel, souriant et faisait un effort pour parler français. La 2e journée, au restaurant, presque pas de sourire et aucun effort pour parler français.

Prachtig gelegen en vlakbij Baddeck en het begin van de Cabot Trail. Schone eenvoudige kamer. Ontbijt en diner dagelijks beschikbaar, tegen betaling. Erg behulpzaam en vriendelijk personeel. Fijn verblijf gehad!

Licht in de kamer door te smal gordijn en door geen gordijn voor het raam van de deur. Heerlijk ontbijt maar wij misten wat opties, zoals fruit en yoghurt.

We had a wonderful stay at the Cabot Trail Motel in Baddeck. Our room was very comfortable and clean, the view was amazing, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. What really made our stay unforgettable was the support we received during an unexpected situation. While we were out for dinner, two of my husband's credit cards accidentally slipped through the gaps in the restaurant patio deck. We were understandably upset, but Marlene at the motel immediately stepped in to help and arranged for Edward, the maintenance man, to come with his tools. Their willingness to help so quickly meant so much to us. Thanks to the kindness and teamwork of everyone involved, the cards were retrieved, and what could have been a very stressful experience became a memory we will never forget. We are so grateful to Marlene, Edward, and the staff at Cabot Trail Motel for their care and generosity. Baddeck is a beautiful place, and this motel is staffed by truly wonderful people. We would gladly stay here again.

We loved the property and the stay

Good location to start Cabot Trail jorney. We didn't use the hotel facilities, like the restaurant. The staff was very helpful and arranged for a late check in on the night of arrival. The room was clean, the fridge was useful.

Nice motel just off the main Cabot Trail. Accommodations were basic but the rooms had everything you could need and included a small front balcony overlooking the water.

We booked a queen room with a lake view and were put in a chalet with a lake view. Privacy, yes, but not as up to date as the pictures show that the regular motel rooms are.

Großes Zimmer mit 2 Queenbetten (zu zweit ok, zu viert wäre es mit dem recht kleinen Bad schwierig). Schöner Blick von der Terrasse auf den See (Straße ist aber dazwischen!). 4 Flaschen Wasser wurden täglich aufgefüllt, sehr (!) nettes Personal im Restaurant, wo der Check-in stattfand. Das Essen war ok, nicht herausragend, aber in Ordnung.

Teppichboden, insgesamt etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber ansonsten völlig in Ordnung für ein Motel.

What a nice place! We had a double bed room. They weren’t Queens but that was OK. They were very comfortable and we used them both for a little extra sleeping room. The room was very clean with a great view of the lake across the street. Dinner in the attached restaurant was excellent.

Water pressure is amazing, 10/10, perfect after a long day of travel. Staff are very friendly and location is perfect. The room is clean, need minor refresh (new carpet and ac/dehumidifier). Overall though, we still enjoyed our stay.

Ok the walls are exceptionally thin but it’s an old school motel with an amazing water view. Sunset and sunrise. The staff makes it all worth it and the location top notch! I drove out every day to Cabot Trail, and just everywhere up north. The fortress, highland museum etc. but honestly I loved having a decent size fridge. I could freeze my cooler packs and really keep food. For the bad the good just out ways it all

We like a healthy breakfast. With the exception of Cheerios(!) there was no other option but to go for the usual eggs, sausage etc. Eggs are very healthy of course but it would be good to offer healthy cereals such as muesli, nuts ,seeds, gogi berries and yogurt etc as an option to complement the wholemeal(?) toast and eggs etc. The evening meals were very good especially the tomato soup which was amazing!

The lady who checked us in was very nice. Our room was clean (except for the worn out and stained carpet) but dated. The exterior of the property is updated and beautiful but they need to improve the rooms. We enjoyed sitting in the patio chairs in front of our room for our morning coffee, which looked out over Bras d’Or Lake. We would stay there again but hopefully they update the rooms a bit.

Loved room with view of water and room so near the restaurant as I have pain while walking! Motel receptionist was so friendly and helpful, telling me where I wanted to eat and fiddle entertainment! Restaurant breakfast was great!!
