Hotel Ayook

The communal areas were excellent great patios and roof terrace. Fabulous artefacts. Very stylish. Superb breakfast. Staff were kind and helpful. Liked the coffee and water facilities and welcome chocolates.

The room was poor. Small. Basic. Like student accommodation. Tired bed linen. Small ramshackle bathroom. No tissues, body cream, space for a wash bag. Cheap shower products in awful plastic dispensers. The hotel is not terribly central and to conclude, was uncomfortable and overpriced.

Wer am Morgen eine Tour plant wird zwischen dem Frühstück und dem Start der Tour nur wenig Zeit haben.

The colonial, traditional feel, which wasn't really our style but it's well done. Looked a bit different in the pictures - generally a bit more basic than expected. Spacious room with plenty of space to store clothes and a safe - and quiet. Breakfast terrace was nice, though quite noisy - with changing selection of local options every day. A bit limited, but I understand that they were going for the traditional style.

The size of the room was decent with a nice patio and a hammock, though the decoration and overall feeling of quality was disappointing. The bathroom was quite outdated, not very comfortable and very small for 4 people. The location was probably the most disappointing, as it's quite distant from the best part of the city. Though it looks close on a map, it's a good 20-minute walk each way and taxis are not good as the traffic is terrible throughout. We had read so many good things and overall experience was underwhelming, with staff that barely engaged with us. It was good value for money, but I would spend a bit more and stay closer to the city in a hotel with a better overall experience.

Lobby receptionist (when they were there), were very kind. The food was yummy (except the stale bread). The decor is beautiful! I felt safe in the hotel!

The walls are super duper thin. No outdoor facing windows* beside the bathroom window. The bathroom window is left ajar to prevent mold in the outdated bathrooms**. This let in two mosquitos during our stay. Which, unfortunately bit us. We later found out Oxaca mosquitos carry Dengue sometimes. **The bathrooms were functional, but the decor doesn't quite match the rest of the place. I wish the rooftop was open earlier than 10AM. In the hot summer, by 10AM, it's already too hot. The rooftop could use some refreshments. It'd be cool if there was a bar up top at night. It could bring in some revenue. When we got breakfast, there seemed to be a preference for European Tourists as they got a fresh basket of bread offered to them, only two min after we were told "this is all the bread we have" (and it was stale bread). This was only on the first day. Second and third day we only had stale bread offerings hahaha. We heard a baby crying at night at some point, but I don't believe they allow children here. So, maybe it was a nearby building? The hotel was cute, cozy, they offer water, good breakfast overall, good customer service overall. Just felt that you could get a better deal (cheaper and cuter options) closer to the city center. Walking 1.6km (~1mi) one-way didn't seem bad the first two days, but after that, the heat and my feet took the best of us.

Las instalaciones del hotel estabas muy bellas, nuestro desayuno incluido muy rico, el personal muy amable y atento. En general todo muy bien.

Cuenta con estacionamiento, pero esta un poco retirado, igual el andador turístico quedaba a varias calles

Hem estat molt a gust, l'hotel està impecable i és preciós, el llit comodíssim, el personal molt atent i amable i un esmorzar super complet. Està ubicat en una zona tranquil·la, a uns 10 mins del zocalo, perfecte per descansar però sense estar massa allunyat del nucli de la ciutat.

Tot ha estat perfecte, potser l'única cosa a comentar sería que l'aigua calenta de la dutxa triga una mica en sortir i que no vam ser capaços d'ajustar la velocitat del A/C, però detalls molt petits. Val molt la pena quedar-s'hi.

Si, es un hotel muy bonito. Sin duda, el desayuno es estupendo y ya tomarlo en la terraza lo hace espectacular, y si ya le sumas un personal muy amable, se convierte en sublime.

Quizás èel baño podía estar un poco mejor acondicionado.

En general bien, si tuviera que mencionar algo, una de las camas de la habitación 6, la cama del lado del baño, no era cómoda, supongo que el colchón ya era viejo y se pandeaba mucho. Sin embargo, la otra cama estaba muy bien. El resto todo excelente

La struttura è davvero bellissima e molto curata. Le camere sono spaziose, pulitissime e i letti molto comodi. Il personale è estremamente gentile e disponibile. Anche la posizione è ottima, molto comoda per raggiungere il centro e vicina a tutto, ma allo stesso tempo tranquilla e lontana dal caos.

Assolutamente nulla da segnalare, ci siamo trovati davvero molto bene.

La comodità del letto e del cuscino, la colazione e il profumo di pulito!

Hospedagem ótima, instalações, cama, roupa de cama, equipe e café da manhã.

Embora no centro histórico, fica ligeiramente afastamento e tem que caminhar muito para chegar aos pricipais restaurantes e atividades. Café da manhã com poucas opções.

El trato de todos sus empleados, sus instalaciones y el tipo de arreglado.

La ubicación un poco lejos del centro.

El confort de la habitación, el estilo y la atención del personal.

Un poquito retirado del zócalo, sin embargo se minimiza ya que en el trayecto al zócalo está de paso el tianguis gastronómico y eso lo cambia todo en esta temporada de Guelaguetza!

Personeel erg aardig en behulpzaam. Ontbijt was erg goed. Er wordt moeite gedaan om het stil te houden in de avond.

Adorable! Le personnel est très sympa, l'hôtel est hyper calme c'est qui fait un petit havre de silence hors le centre ville. Le petit déjeuner c'est le meilleur que j'ai eu dans ma vie dans un hôtel, au top!

O café da manhã foi razoavel, poderia ter mais opções, mais frutas e queijo. As opções café mexicano tradicional são ok, mas poderia ter uma opção mais normal. Servem uma vez e pronto, sem opção de repetir! Prefiro sempre a opção de buffet!

Beautiful hotel, staff were super nice. Breakfast was amazing - a choice between two Mexican style dishes each day along with fruit, bread and coffee. Our room was lovely and the roof terrace with hammocks is such a bonus for having some down time in the afternoon. Was a 15 minute walk into Oaxaca, so easy to get around.

The hotel was a 10 minute walk from the city center so at night it was kind of difficult heading back to the hotel but all in all it wasn't that bad.

El hotel es pequeñito pero acogedor. El personal es muy atento y cuenta con una terraza en la planta superior.

Esta a 15 min del centro y de noche teniamos que coger taxi. En el desayuno hay solo una opcion occidental y no dan cafe de maquina. El agua de la ducha tenia muy poca presion , para lavarse el pelo se hizo complicado. La habitacion era muy pequeña y con muy poca iluminacion natural. Teniendo en cuenta todo esto el precio por noche nos parecio alto

I liked the rooms and also how there was a kettle for our use. I think it could benefit by having a few comfortable chairs in the common area. They were all hard. Otherwise all good

o quarto é muito pequeno, a unica janela é direcionada para o corredor. O banheiro merece uma reforma nos azulejos e nao tem secador de cabelo. A água quente do chuveiro é difícil ajustar.

Excellent breakfast - very Mexican! Substantial and filling (however no tea - only coffee!) Staff were delightful and very helpful. Lovely rooftop terrace with hammocks! Bed is huge and very comfortable. There is a safe in the room and plenty storage space.

the rooms were a little dark with no windows (only windows opening onto the central area of the hotel. However this seems to be a normal thing in Mexico. Shower was not particularly warm.

El hotel se siente como un oasis. Llegar de la calle calurosa y ruidosa (típico de todo centro de ciudad) y entrar a un lugar fresco, silencioso, y agradable era una sensación muy reconfortante. Las instalaciones son per sé bellas y fotogénicas. La habitación amplia, fresca. El detalle de agua de cortesía todos los días sé valora mucho.

Algunos pequeños detalles del baño, nada que afecte la función, sino más bien de estética. El desayuno se sentía repetitiv (estuve 4 días) Sería bueno la opción del desayuno continental para variar.

Be aware that this hotel is not 100% in the Centre, but it’s only a 5 min walk and safe. The shower could use a renovation.

El desayuno es buenísimo. Todo el personal es muy amable. Te dejan cada día agua en la habitación y todo esta super limpio y bonito. Es un hotel práctico y cómodo

No me gustó la ducha del baño, no salía bien el agua caliente y con muy poca presión. Esta un poco alejado del centro, aunque eso puede ser una ventaja, pues es muy tranquilo.

Beautiful property. The hotel is designed and decorated with great care. It was a joy to look around and be in the space. The breakfast was also delicious and plentiful

Stunning hotel with great breakfast!

The location seems far off from the center. Thankfully, Oaxaca is walkable and this was manageable. Rooms are smaller than most hotels I stayed in Mexico. Pillows were a bit hard. :(

This hotel has wonderful breakfasts, kind staff, a gorgeous roof terrace and other nice common areas and beautiful, stylish decor. Also good water pressure and hot water, which is always nice.

The main issue is that the bedrooms do not have windows. The only way to let in fresh air and daylight is to open the heavy wooden shutters to the hotel walkways and then you have no privacy whatsoever because there is no glass. You are sitting or lying on your bed just a couple feet and no glass or curtains between you and other people in the hotel.

Location is very loud. Walking to historic district isn’t too far but you’ll be dodging traffic and smelly busses and garbage trucks. Lots of people yelling at night. Kids crying next door. Walls are very thin.

La estancia fue excepcional. El personal fue siempre muy atento y en todo momento atendieron todas nuestras peticiones. El desayuno, abundante y delicioso. Y en la habitación, todo muy bien. Sencilla, pero cama muy cómoda y baño siempre limpio. Sin duda, repetiremos. Un plus: tenían algunas plazas de parking que pudimos utilizar de forma gratuita durante la estancia, lo que se agradece.

Staff and breakfast were wonderful. 15 minute walk to all the sites in the city. Beautiful hotel. Loved it that there are only 12 rooms.

Interior rooms have no windows although there are shutters to open up into the atrium. Location is on a busy road. Best to get a room on 2nd level and towards the back of the hotel.

We picked this place because it’s advertised as an adults-only hotel, but a child was screaming all night, which completely defeated the purpose and made sleeping difficult. The rooms are tiny and ours had no real window: just wooden blinds, and you can’t realistically leave them open at night because it gives on the inner court and people walk past, so it feels a bit boxed-in. Breakfast was below average. On the second day we chose to eat out. Oaxaca has incredible food, just not at the hotel. There’s a kettle (nice touch), but it only sporadically appeared for us to use, which was confusing and frustrating. The shower temperature is either boiling or cold. Good luck getting it set to something stable - and the pressure was too low. Wi-Fi is temperamental and unreliable. It took us about 25 minutes just to be able to pay for a booking. Location-wise, it’s around a 20-minute walk from the best parts of the city (the areas around the plazas, further north), so you’ll be walking or taking taxis more than expected. Overall, not good value for money. Would not recommend.

Busy street, and noisy

Lo que sale en las fotos, el patio donde desayunas, eso es muy bonito.

Las habitaciones. Son pequeñas y parecen las de un hostel, no las de un hotel de 160 euros la noche. Son habitaciones muy pobres. Además el desayuno es muy poco variado, y el personal pone la radio por la mañana y te despierta. También, la ducha sale poca agua y además durante los 10 primeros minutos sale fría.

The staff were really wonderful and the breakfast was delicious! There were beautiful decorations from Oaxaca. The pillows were also super comfortable! The location close to Abastos was really nice. There was plenty of drinking water available.

Our bathroom smelled. We kept the door shut at night to keep the smell contained. The floors were very dusty. I wasn’t sure where they were coming from but there were loud, banging noises intermittently through the entire night. When I touched the wall in the bathroom, the tiles shifted.
