Everything, I cant fault this hotel. The breakfast was the best I have had in a long time, all cooked to order.

Very friendly staff. Comfortable accommodation. Great breakfast. Fantastic location on sea front.

Parking was 2 streets back but free after registration. But it was right on the seafront, which was great! We were in bedroom 1 with rubbish view out of the window and couldn't have window open due to the smell of the kitchen, we were right above the kitchen, we were only thier one night, so not the end of the World!

A touch more cleaning and definitely needed a lift It did close very early.

We loved everything about the hotel. The only down side is we were on the 4th floor and there are no lifts. Was a steep climb to our room and we're not young

Very modern, clean, staff were all polite and helpful and the location.

Nothing I loved it all. If there was anything it would be finding zone A to park which was fine as soon as we found it and got the parking permit so that to us wasn’t an issue.

The location was great and the room was really comfortable. The staff were very accommodating with helping us sorting out parking, letting us check in early, and generally being welcoming.

Not really a negative but we were on the top floor so if you’re not a fan of stairs I would request a lower floor room.

The staff couldn’t help enough. The seaview from our room was great. Breakfast was superb. The decor was excellent.

The stairs were a bit of a struggle. The bed mattress, as with most hotels, was too hard and the shower temperature was difficult to control.

No blind at bathroom window so felt exposed when the light was on. Room was above the kitchen extractor so bedding, room and bathroom smelt of cooking. Hard, cheap pillows.

Excellent location, fantastic welcoming, helpful staff, great spacious room with a comfy bed and a fantastic sea view, topped off with a delicious breakfast. we wouldnt hesitate to book here again.

This hotel is in a great position in Gt Yarmouth on sea front . Lovely friendly atmosphere very clean and great value . Hidden small Gem ! We received a very warm welcome by the staff. Whom asked if we had a good journey and where we had parked our car to make sure we did not get a ticket etc . Great service from the off . Our breakfast everyday was perfect from fruit , cereals or full English and evening menu food was excellent too . Our room was excellent -good WiFi - though no air con they did provide with a suitable fan . Everyday from the housekeeper to chef and service staff they were a credit to the hotel . Megan & Tom plus little helper ( daughter watered plants ) you are all a great team and Thank you for making our stay perfect . Julie & Chris . Highly Recommend. 👏👏👏👏👏

Thought this was a lovely hotel, with real helpful staff but this changed after we left I had lefts a couple of items in room. I called and asked if they could be posted to me I said I'd pay postage they confirmed they had the items and that they could do this. Someone would call me back with the cost .... no call, I have called them several times, emailed but no one comes back to me. I am very disappointed seemed so helpful ... now know otherwise.

This was our second time at Hotel Ocean and was booked just a few weeks before we went. We stayed in a deluxe double at the back of the hotel. The room was decorated to a good taste with a comfy bed. There was also a small mini fridge with 2 complimentary bottles of water plus tea and coffee facilities with 2 small packets of twin biscuits. Breakfast was superb and is served to your table and cooked to order. Staff were amazing and the staff were really friendly. Hotel is in prime location on the seafront close to the shops, pier, cinema and swimming pool. Free parking is offered by permit vouchers in the roads behind the hotel.

The room was a bit on the small side to my liking and views from our window was overlooking the roofs of the adjoining building. The en-suite needed a bit of attention. Shower sliding door came off the runners, water didn’t stay in washbasin and some of the floor tiles were cracked. Despite all these issues it didn’t put us off.

The location was excellent the staff were extremely helpful and welcoming

A few minor things in the room such as a damaged door frame on the inside of the bathroom, the extractor in the bathroom needed cleaning and several light bulbs needed changing

The hotel is really nice and clean. We stayed in room 3 which was spacious, had a high pressured shower and even a small fridge which was an unexpected bonus. Unfortunately there are things that do need addressing which is reflected in the stars I’ve given. 1 - the main front door needs a door closer on it as it slams shut LOUDLY every time someone walks through it and it literally makes the room shake 2 - there’s quite a major problem with pigeons on the balcony area outside the bay window. It seems to be the perfect nesting area and stopped us from having the windows open like we wanted as the pigeons were hopping round constantly and pigeon poo was everywhere! 3 - please get someone to teach the chefs in the restaurant how to cook eggs, it completely ruined our breakfast experience being served both poached and fried eggs with hard yolks and to be honest is an embarrassment to what would otherwise have been a good quality breakfast.

The rooms are clean and a nice view of the sea. Good choice of breakfast.

On checking in we were told the bistro opening hours but not advised if we wished to eat in to reserve a table. On going down at 7pm told no tables available which was quite annoying. Told breakfast was from 8am-10am which was fine for residents. Surprised a group of 6 and another group of 4 paying customers were turned away at 9.30am. Not sure what would of happened if we had been comr down at this time, as breakfast included in our stay!

Food was excellent. Rooms were clean. Despite being on the main seafront area, we were not disturbed with noise. Worth mentioning the hotel provides a hairdryer, fan, water in fridge, hot drinks & bodywash. Would recommend.

The bathroom was to small. The sink was tiny (their was room for a longer sink & extra shelving). The stairs are steep. With no alternative. The pillows were very hard.

This hotel was listed as adults only so we were surprised to find the the breakfast area was open to the public. The staff did not seem to be concerned that a small child was running up and down noisily past tables. We asked the family to stop the child and the father got aggressive and basically said if we didn't like it go to our room to eat. A few more things were said and we left as he seemed to be hell bent on having an argument. The family was not staying at the hotel. This was brought to the attention of the staff, and we mentioned the fact that we thought it was adults only but the young girl said that the eating area was separate to the hotel and she did not know how to deal with it. It should be noted in the website that it is not all adults only. This put quite a damper on the stay.

Visited here for a nice meal on the first evening of our family holiday. Good location right opposite the sea. Welcome was good and our orders promptly taken but after that getting the attention of a staff member seemed rather difficult even though there were only 2 other tables being used and there being 2 staff members. Asked for some red sauce for each of the children. Was given one small pot between them. Asked for mayo for the adults. Was given one small pot between us. I’m all for not wasting food but this was a bit ridiculous . Dinner itself was absolutely delicious. Kids meals were good too and the sausages went down a treat with our two. The kids enjoyed their dessert of pancakes and ice cream but I found my cheesecake very bland. After receiving our bill the servers again disappeared this time hunched over the drinks area together deep in conversation with their backs to the diners. After ten minutes had to approach and interrupt to pay our bill. Felt we wasted too much time trying to get the attention of staff that weren’t actually that busy.

Staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Great location and food is fabulous. The red wine is gorgeous too.

Our bedroom was sold as a Deluxe Double it faced the rear, was noisy during the night due to what sounded like industrial fans starting up. It was very hot weather so we had the windows open and this noise kept us awake. The bathroom shower needed attention, it was either scalding hot or very cold despite following the instructions posted on the bathroom door. All of the above was reported to the hotel manager who took all my feedback seriously. The bodywash dispenser in the shower was empty. Parking details in the hotel description mention parking in nearby streets is free. What they fail to mention is that where the signs stating 'permit holders only' also show the letter A, this is where you can park freely. When you then check in, you can give your vehicle registration and the receptionist registers your car for the duration of your stay. We were unaware of this when we arrived into Great Yarmouth.....had we known, we could have saved ourselves £11 and an hour driving round and round streets full of 'permit holders only' signs. It's a bit pointless telling you about the letter A, after you have found space in a public carpark a mile up the road costing £11 for 6 hours.....

The food was lovely the staff expecially Morgan went out of his way to book the room what a lovely lad he was always a smile on his face rest of the staff was lovely as well and all happy and wifi was fast

The hotel location is exceptional and the room we had,had lovely views but we were on the 3rd floor and there is no lift access so climbing the stairs is a feat when you are disabled The room was spacious and there was plenty of tea coffee milk sugar ect The staff were really helpful and a nice cheery smile was produced whenever you spoke to them Morgan was a lovely staff member very helpful indeed The breakfast was superb very tasty especially the sausage, the first morning we ordered the full English breakfast there was far to much for me so the next morning we had eggs sausage and toast I would definitely stay at this hotel again but would choose a lower floor for our room

A few things that for the price we payed ought to be looked at Mainly in the bathroom The extractor fan was filthy 😳 could do with a good clean, especially if you have allergies The sink didn't empty very fast looks like a bit of a blockage occurring 😳 The toilet seat didn't fit the toilet so very uncomfortable to sit on The shower screen didn't run smoothly There was a fan in the cupboard but a butterfly's wings would give out more draft An hinge on the cupboard door is open if the other two open the door would fall off I found some dirty marks on my pillow case I will include pictures I do think that mentioning that access to the rooms is stairs only ought to be first priority on the facilities not the last

Located opposite the beach and pier perfect location. The hotel itself is amazing. Beautiful clean comfortable rooms. The staff especially Lily and Morgan are a real credit to the hotel. We booked for one night and stayed for a second! The breakfast menu was very good with a good variety of. The fruit salad was really nice . I also had food from the evening menu octopus carpaccio salt and pepper squid with a side salad. Just perfect

Just back from a two night stay at Hotel Ocean where we stayed whilst attending a wedding nearby. From check in to check out all staff were friendly, helpful & couldn’t do enough for us. The hotel is modern & welcoming, loved the decor throughout. Free on street Parking was available in nearby residents parking zones - just give your Reg No to reception on arrival. Particularly liked the outside terrace to enjoy a drink & watch the world go by. We ate at the on site Box Tree Bistro on Friday evening … we shared a few small plates & they were all delicious as were the cocktails. Our sea view room was large & well equipped. Good selection on the welcome tray along with a mini fridge. The bed was very comfortable. Good size bathroom & the water pressure was great. Breakfast was included in the cost of the room & there was a good choice of both hot & cold options … all of which were beautifully presented & very tasty. Would recommend a stay here to anyone. Our only issue was with the temperature of the room … there was no air con & we couldn’t manage to open the sash windows as they were very high. A window pole in the room would have made it so much easier to let some fresh air in, especially as the room faces East so gets early morning sun. The Manager did come & open them for us but we could hardly ask him to do so every time.

The property was stylish and comfortable. We stayed in the suite which is a beautiful large room with lots of windows overlooking the sea. We had dinner in the restaurant one evening and it was incredible. Very nice breakfast menu too. Really impressed.

Stairs were a little steep.

The rooms needed a little update in the door in the toilet. Kept jamming. The toilet seat kept sliding to the side. Needed a little fix. But otherwise it was beautiful. The views were excellent.The staff were excellent and the hotel was excellent.I had a brilliant holiday.Other person would have put up more of a stink with a couple of things.But we loved it definitely going to go back

Everything was perfect at the hotel. Staff was amazing. They were able to decorate our room to celebrate 1 year anniversary. Also they were able to accomodate us with an early check in and late check out. We had an amazing stay. Would defo go back.

Parking was a bit awkward but they do have places. Pictures on the website make the rooms look bigger than they are. No shampoo or soap in the shower room.

The staff were really friendly, efficient and very helpful. The room although small was clean and well maintained with good inroom facilities and a powerful shower. The cooked to order breakfasts were exceptional, great quality ingredients cooked perfectly. We were concerned that the parking could be a problem with the hotels sea front location but with the free parking pass it was easy to come and go as we pleased. Currently I would say it's the best value for money hotel in Yarmouth.

Beware there are a lot of stairs and no lift! If that's going to be an issue for you make sure you request a lower floor. To our 4th floor room 48 steps it was a workout!

Paid £100 for: Had to ask to get breakfast before 0800 specially like it was an issue. A tiny room up four floors with no lift overlooking dirty rooftops. TV wasn’t working because the network kept dropping out. No toiletries in the room anywhere. DIRTY bathroom with electric shower that was constantly freezing cold then scalding hot. This is after a freezing night because the heating went off automatically and couldn’t be turned back on. Breakfast was best part of the stay. Room was SHEET. DO NOT STAY HERE

Lack of packing spaces available. Windows could not be left open, needed a support in place. Plus only one opened. The phone in the room had a very bright LED screen which was off putting when trying to get to sleep. Wall are also very thin, so could fully hear neighbours upstairs who came in past midnight and then proceeded to watch tv and talk loudly

Booked last minute after walking out of another hotel down the road. I stayed in the suite, very comfortable.

Staff were amazing and so helpful. The hotel has been decorated very well and the beds were so comfortable.

Although the hotel offers free parking permits it can be difficult to find street parking spaces during high season but this is true of the whole seafront area and not a fault of the hotel.

Great location. Hotel is beautifully decorated throughout our room was a good size. Plenty of tea & coffee provided in the room. Even provided sachets of oat milk. Lovely smelling toiletries provided. Delicious breakfast, cooked to order. Catered for my fussy tastes!. Tom & Megan are excellent hosts. Definitely recommend.

An absolutely wonderful stay at Hotel Ocean. Such a lovely hotel, clean, modern and very well located on the sea front. Breakfast was really good with a great choice. My fave was the fresh fruit salad, the yogurt & compote so tasty. Although the sausages with the full English were good too! We cannot wait to go back.

Friendly staff warm welcome we stayed in room 9 it is on the top floor and there's no lift not a problem for us but could be if you have walking difficulties The room was clean and beds was so comfy I didn't want to get out of it The fridge in the room was a bounce and plenty of tea coffee would of been nice to have fresh milk left in the fridge instead of UHT milk on the tray but thats just a personal preference but we just popped to the shop and got our own The shower was good Nice view of the seafront from the room Breakfast was yummy all good quality produce and the staff were so helpful nothing to much trouble This hotel is a little gem definitely made the right choice looking at other hotels in the area
