Great location. Close to everything you need. Rooms were basic but clean Tv. Tea & Coffee. Towels.
No Breakfast. Even thou it has a dining room. Hotel very dated. All the stsff need to have customer care training. Not helpful at all.
Good location close to everything
View from window looking down onto someone's back yard full of rubbish .when we arrived front desk man wasn't very talkative just gave our key and said 2nd floor
Easy to find
No free Wi-Fi. No fridge
Pretty much everything it's just a solid decent hotel, always clean and tidy
Only issue was our WiFi didn't work but not a major issue
Good location for the shops and amusement
Couldn't get parking outside the hotel
Spotless white bedding and towels and actually had a bath sheet. Location was fantastic as was service.
only 2 negative comments, the bed was very very soft and the mirror in the bathroom was broken
Outdated and in need of work on the room
Crack in the ceiling paint peeling off walls bath not working
Location
Room smelt mouldy and was very poorly decorated
It was ok for overnight stop fit the purpose
Parking could have been better and explaining about permit could been clear

Near to beech main strip
Bed was uncomfortable
Reception staff brilliant
Loud environment, creaky floorboards, mattress sinks in the middle so u fall that way, hot even with window open. Not sure heating on.
Lovely comfortable room. Friendly staff, good location
Central location to shops, pubs, the pier and so much else for families to see and do. The hotel has a quality ambience about it and the staff are friendly and professional. It has a lift and all the rooms are cleaned thoroughly and the en suite rooms and TV and drink making facilities all make for a lovely comfortable stay.
A pity that they don’t do bookings for a month as I would happily spend my whole holiday there.
Bed
Lift I've never seen anything like it
The staff are very friendly
Not much to dislike
Close to ameneties and town
Lack of parkin and wrong password for wifi
The location was ideal. The rooms were the right size for what we needed.
Very springy bed, very uncomfortable, room needs tlc, Dirty curtains and window sills could do with a good clean says 99p bar in brochure that wasn’t the case when we asked, food very average and to much salt used in some meals Staff are lovely and very helpful at all times Coach tours were very good and driver Kamal was lovely and very helpful
Central location to all what the town offers. The property has style and class, welcoming and is well presented and kept clean. The manager, Amman is always welcoming, professional and welcoming each time I visit.
Can’t find any faults.
Great location quiet street but in middle of everything shops bars coast attractions
Parking included we knew we would have to find space on street parking but struggled couldn't get parking in the zones till 10.45pm
Was nice hotel had good vibes
Lift lol

Great location to the sea front/pier. Free parking close to hotel Spacious rooms
The 1st room we were allocated had a broken bed but we were offered an alternative room by reception staff when reported. Currently any rooms with a bath, the bath is not useable due to plumbing works/upgrades, showers over the bath can still be used though.
Could have some tlc but who cares. It's a base and your eyes are shut when you sleep. Staff were excellent...bedroom was perfect for us. Location is perfect and best price.
You get what you pay for but we loved it.
Great price , Great location & clean.
Getting in the front door late at night proved a little challenging although we got in eventually
Hotel very clean, but let down by various small things. Our bathroom had no extractor fan that worked and the window wouldn’t open. The shower was an over the bath one, and really difficult to regulate, fluctuating between scalding hot/freezing cold. The shower screen was fixed so you had to lean in to turn shower on. The bedroom was very clean and the beds comfortable. The main window wouldn’t open. The food wasn’t great on the week we were there. No porter service to help with luggage. Our room was on second floor then along a narrow corridor and down a flight of 10 stairs. Not easy when you are 80. The room was very quiet. The barman Brandon deserves a special mention, nothing is too much trouble and he is very pleasant. The dining room staff were very nice, but the food wasn’t great.
Very close to seafront and nice outdoor seating area to the front of the hotel
Advertising evening entertainment...none as far as we knew. Bathroom , shower had only overhead shower and no bath plug for bath
Very central and really easy to find. . Welcoming and friendly. . Single room had just enough space. .Window that opened wide, and airy. . . Plenty of sugar and coffee. . Shower and toilettries and towels good. . Bed was ok to sleep on, not the best. . Was fairly quiet at night
The pillows didnt have a protector. . The bed was springy and well used. Bit noisy too. . The carpet and stairs area didnt look that clean. . The tv was positioned awkward on wall, so limited view when in bed. .also the sound kept cutting in and out? . . . Didnt get told wifi code at reception when checking in. . .
A Great place to stay
NA
Fab location staff friendly
For the price I wasn't expecting much the mattress was super soft so not good if you need firm one, bathroom floor lino was coming up in place and lamp & phone very dusty bed sheets clean comfy pillows bathroom was clean despite being being old.
Very comfortable stay at the hotel
Nothing
It was cheap and near the seafront.
Parking was streetside, and hard to find. Shower didn't work. No breakfast. The bed was lumpy, hotel dated. but looking aruond the resort there were a lot of places closed. It served our purpose.
Hotel doesn’t have a car park (well it does but customers aren’t allowed to use it. Check in was at 3pm. Arrived at 1.30 hopefully of checking in. Although the hotel was empty, they wouldn’t do it. Poor! No breakfast available and they pretend to be a hotel. Communal areas downstairs seemed well kept. However landings and stairways were tatty at best. Room was cramped with a tiny tv. Reasonably clean though, but bathroom was mouldy which should be a big NO NO! All in all, I wouldn’t stay here again.
Bed was comfy
Room wasn't really big enough for 2 adults and a small child And not really good for prams etc,the lift was ancient but worked, lots of stairs and steps not suitable for pushchair and no breakfast option
Central location. Parking permit was handy. Room was clean.
The wifi was useless. Basin in the shower room was tiny. Really difficult to clean your teeth in it. There was a fan but it was rather noisy.
Location and cleanliness
Room very hot and although twin beds it may have been a double they were so close together
Very unfortunate choice of hotel. My wife burst into tears as our room and "en-suite" were so unwelcoming, one curtain was twisted around so as not to dangle in the tea making facilities. The beds were so uncomfortable with every spring sticking into you. The bathroom had a rusty radiator and black spots on the ceiling in one corner. The wash basin wouldn't drain but I cleared it so the water flowed away. The plug had a chain but wasn't attached. You could not lock your door from inside and unless you used your room card on exit it remained unlocked. The stairs had horrible brown dirty carpets fitted and the bannisters were sticky. The lift was so dangerous as one wall of the shaft was exposed when in the "car". Meal times were just like being back at school as you queued for your meal. Sadly the food was very average unlike another 3 star hotel we stayed at in Scotland where the meals were 5 star.
It was lovely and welcoming, got a lovely outdoor sitting area and location is perfect ( only a walk away from the sea front, and shops), The room was lovely and clean, the beds was comfortable, and it was very spacious space for a family room, my children loved it as much as I did 😊
Parking could be better, but no fault of the hotel itself.

Great location, suited all of our groups needs.
The bar was not open and there was no food offered ie breakfast even though the website states this all to be available.
Location and reasonably priced
Nothing
Location
Poor wifi
The hotel is in a good central location and the triple room we booked for 3 adults was good value for a stay in peak time of early August
Parking was difficult although if you are lucky Wellesley street nearby has unlimited free parking whilst the hotel does have a few parking passes for the street it’s on
No breakfast
Room very poor uncomfortable bed
The location The shower
Nothing negative comes to mind
Location
The property is old, old furniture including a very old elevator. The property did not smell fresh, and it was definitely not worth the price. The property is over priced.
location good room good breakfast did not have
all good for what you pay
Nice cheap hotel nice staff checked in early
Sink was leaking alot I had wet feet after washing my hands, told them and the fix was putting an old ice cream tub under it. It worked to stop the floor getting wet but no apology or mention of it from the staff. I asked if they could store my bag like most hotels and I was told to leave it in the lobby. Would of expected somewhere more secure but it worked
Spacious room ,great location comfy beds :)
I was told my booking was cancelled to then find out it's not
I was told my booking was cancelled to then find out it's not
Great location Clean room Value for money
Location
Electronic door key repeatedly broken which meant several journeys up and down 2 floors to reception. Pillows were as flat as pancakes. Bedside cabinet and light only on one side of the bed. Poor Internet on second floor. Bar was closed on Friday evening.
Location. Shower worked well , friendly staff
Limited on street parking Room was a bit small and tatty in places
All ok lefties handy
No breakfast
Close to the Market Place where the bus station is
Good rooms size and nice sea view
Bathroom should be improved, leaking shower.
Bar man on friday night was great
No bar open on saturday night, no parking as stated only on yhe street parking had 2 park 2 streets away
Everything you need for a good night sleep at a very reasonable price. Clean, quiet, comfy and well equipped. Perfect location.
Check-out time was clear, so no need to knock and ask what time I'm leaving.
Location
The double bed was horrible very bumpy and uncomftable and it was in a bad location very close to. A wardrobe felt clostophobic
Just stayed at the Waverley on a Shearings holiday. The hotel is tired and in need of an urgent refurb. Smallest shower cubicle ever experienced and rustiest radiator. Dinner very regimented and "urgent'. Food good but limited choice. The stair Bannister is lethal health & safety would shut the place down in an instant. Don't Shearings periodically visit their hotels, this place did not get into this poor state overnight. I would not recommend this hotel in any terms. Avoid.
Hi, My wife and I visited the Waverley recently and I would just like to give a mention to the barman Brandon for the great service he provided. We had good conversations ( and laughs ) with him and I would like to say that he is a credit to your establishment. I cannot say any more as we visited as non residents and only used the hotel to view the entertainment ( shout out to singer Herbert ). Cheers Brandon, will see you again mate. ......... Friendly staff. Clean room and bathroom. The fan was very useful to keep the room cool as the weather was very warm. Convenient location for beach and town centre. 25 minute walk to railway station.
The shower worked, but the water temperature was difficult to regulate.
Stayed at this hotel as a coach trip guest for five days. Hotel is tired and our room was very bare and small. The bed was clean and comfortable but bathroom was not up to a good standard- peeling bath and brown ring around the toilet. There was a broken handrail on the stairs which was mended with tape! Food was a strange mix of items and very unappealing. Stuffed pepper served with Yorkshire pudding and asked if you wanted gravy on it! Would not return to this hotel or Great Yarmouth.
Anything wasn't a problem if you ask
Very good, close to the seafront.
Room was clean and bed comfortable. Staff friendly
Parking impossible and no breakfast available
Great location and a dree parking permit for resident parking slots was a bonus. The room was well furnished with everything I could need. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Having a fan in the room was also very welcome. The outside and foyer is attractive and welcoming. Great value for money
The only negative was the restaurant was closed for the night I was there - that was disappointing but it was not a huge problem for me.
Central location, helpful front desk, clean bright room
Clean and tidy place.
There was no option for breakfast.
Extremely convenient and parking outside with free permit
Location perfect price pretty good had fans
Mirror chipped and tikes a bit grubby
Didn't have breakfast. Room great location fantastic.
Location, stuff
Bed was on some shaking base. So it was little bit wobly
Not much
Nothing
Location and staff are always friendly
I couldn't have a shower because the hot water tap didn't come on
Great location by the seafront on your doorstep and parking in a prime location of Great Yarmouth.
Key lock on door failed so anyone could walk into the room without me knowing if I did not realise this issue I now understand the big don’t leave valuables in room now lol
Door banging on a regular basis
A fridge in room. Has the heat was over whelming. And no where to put my pop has it was getting hot very soon
Location, close to everything.
The floorboards creaked.
Clean quiet relaxing great location
No breakfast
Great location
We were in room 118 which overlooks the road, it was a huge room, much larger than we expected, 3 beds, a massive bath with a large waterfall shower head. Hot water I Instantly. Everything was clean, the towels and sheets were boil wash clean. We were greeted by the manager who was very polite and made us feel welcome.
Nothing comes to mind when you consider the value for money, we've paid twice as much in Grear Yarmouth for much less. If we were to make a minor gripe it would be that the beds were on the firmer side but that's a personal preference, they were still comfortable.
Friendly staff. Great location to first pier
Not free parking. Parking permit but no room. Twice tried to park with no access. Paid 12 quid for the day at alternative parking. Plenty of empty houses / hotels around accommodation
I recently stayed at this hotel with a friend as part of a Shearings coach tour, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. While the staff were friendly and pleasant enough, the hotel itself falls incredibly short in both its accommodations and dining. The Rooms & Bathroom: Cramped and Outdated The standard of the rooms was incredibly poor. The two of us were cramped into a space that was clearly a single room retrofitted with two beds. It was so tight that I actually had to physically pull my bed away from the window just to open and close the curtains. Convenience was nonexistent: * **Lack of Outlets:** There was only one accessible plug socket in the entire room, making it a constant battle to manage the kettle, hairdryer, and phone chargers. * **Lack of Furniture:** We were expected to share a single bedside table and lamp between the two of us. The bathroom was equally small, tired, and frustrating. The extractor fan was full of dust and didn't work. The shower was downright dangerous, fluctuating between freezing cold and scalding hot in the mornings. In the evenings, there was no warm water at all. To top it off, the toilet cistern took an absolute age to refill after every flush. The Food: Substandard and Processed The catering was of a very low standard across the board. While breakfast was passable, I quickly realized it was safer to stick to basic Weetabix and toast. The evening meals were particularly dreadful: * **Starters:** A generic, "beige" selection of cheap, deep-fried processed spring rolls and samosas. * **The Salad:** A laughably dull plate featuring processed, plastic-like ham and completely tasteless cheese. * **The Fishcakes:** Coated in a glow-in-the-dark orange crumb, these had seemingly never encountered an actual fish in their lifetime. While a few of the other meals were technically edible, none of them were particularly enjoyable. Final Verdict The friendly staff are the only saving grace of this establishment. Between the cramped, ill-equipped rooms and the subpar food, I cannot recommend staying here.
If I could have given this hotel a zero rating I would have done. We went on a coach trip with Shearings. The room They are outdated and need a refresh. It had not been cleaned adequalty. It was rundown and to be frank not up to standard. The tops of the door frames (door into the room and bathroom both sides) and light shades were caked in thick dust. There was scuff makes on the walls. The windows has not been cleaned and had bird mess on them. The net curtains were dirty and old fashioned and did not fit the window as were the curtains and felt like they had never been washed. The carpets thought out the hotel were dirty and smelts. When we first entered our room (205) the stench was over powering and the window had to be open in fact the window had not been closed our whole stay. We also had a single room (210). This also smelt and had not been aired out. The net curtains were filthy and did not fit the windows there were stain on the walls either mud or tea. The bathroom 205 - the shower was either boiling hot or freezing cold. The indicators on the shower control had worn down and it was not clear which way to turn the control to control the water but actually it wasn’t really needed as the water trickled out anyway. The shower shelf has been thrown up and is very loose and hanging off. The toilet was not secure to the floor properly and moved when sat upon and the radiator was rusted. The extractor fan was full of dust as was the radiator. 210 - The water in bathroom took a good 20 minute to heat up. We suspect that the hot water is switched off at around 8pm as the water was cold from this time until the morning in both rooms - not just the shower but the sink too. The food I have never experienced meal times like this except when I was at school and when I worked in a nursing home. At the start of the week we got a lecture about how service would take place by a very abrupt woman who identified herself as the restaurant manager. We were told that we would choose our meals at breakfast (as expected) and the starter would be brought out at 6pm sharp! Once the whole of the Dining Room had finished the starters we would be called up by table number to be served our mains like we were in prison, I dared to ask for more food than was dished out which was meet with huffs and puffs! Once Mains had finished Desserts were brought out. It was rushed, regimented and completely unwelcoming. We were served a three course meal in less than 30 minutes! I felt greedy for asking for more food than was given and the food was low quality and cheap. It got to the point with all the issues at meal times that we opted to eat out on the last day. Once the food has been dished out the staff stood at the buffet table watching everyone eat. It was very buzzard and felt really oppressive. Twice we were having a drink before dinner and staff came to tell us that they wanted to serve dinner so we had to go into the dining room. The restaurant manager scolded a customer because she forgot what she ordered and selected another option. Breakfast was acceptable but again, I was asked whether I wanted one or two each of bacon, sausages and eggs suggesting that was my lot! Again the food was cheap. The dining room was dirty and the table was wobbly. The floor was greasy and the chairs were old and broken, the springs had gone. The staff The staff were friendly except the restaurant manager who lectured us at the start of the week and the owner’s sister who stood at the entrance to dining room watching everyone and giving dirty looks to people like a bouncer! The waiting staff were polite and very hard working. When out and about in Great Yarmouth I was been asked where I am saying when I told them, people have said that they have not heard a good word said about the Waverley. The culture / regime of the management is the problem. It is very obvious that their main objective is cost cutting and spending as little as possible which is to the detriment of the service / food provided to the customers. Overall this was a complete dire experience and I would not come back if I was paid.
Good. Alum for money.
Pleasant staff. Comfortable bed. Good location
Took a while for hot water to appear!
It was excellent the hotel was very nice and very clean staff were very friendly and very nice and very kind the head chef came to my table to help me out with my dinner order as I am autistic so she made sure I had a very nice dinner I enjoyed myself even the hotel experience and entertainment was amazing
Excelente place
Everthing good
Bedroom carpet dirty, shower mouldy in places, only one curtain that barely did the job and no net curtains for privacy. Room needs a refurb, it's dark and not very pleasant. The bed appeared clean but had a musty dirty body smell to it including the pillows. Not at all nice.
I liked the location
Location great, free street parking. Staff were friendly. Although the rooms were small they were clean and had all the basics needed. The pub opposite (prom hotel had great drinks £8.50 for two double spirits and mixers ) if you’re just looking for somewhere cheap to sleep I would recommend.
Small room , beds not the comfiest, hot water in bathroom tap didn’t seem to be on over night so made washing face late at night slightly uncomfortable with cold water. Walls were very thin. But didn’t really affect quality of sleep.
free car parking
very old hotel. lock did not work. had to switch room. room smell were bad.
loved the room, we booked a twin but we were in a suite. staff were helpful & friendly. the hotel was perfect for sea front or the main shopping area. they provide a parking permit for free(my sons cost him £3 a day) would stay again
we thought it included breakfast as in write up said a hearty breakfast, but was told it wasn't & would cost £10 a day. then they said no breakfast on Sat, Sun or Mon, seeing that we went Thur to Mon meant we only got 1 breakfast, it said it was 8 till but by 8.45 it was cleared away, we didn't get any toast. we left some dirty towels in shower as told but they just refolded them & put them with the clean towels
It was a great location, clean and tidy smaller size rooms but still big enough for the two of us to get ready considering we were out most of the time.
