This is my second time staying here. The first time I stayed, I had a deep cut from the edge of the swimming pool. This is deeply concerning given how highly rated the hotel. However, my following experiences explains why I’m writing this long dissatisfaction review. My wife and daughter had arrived before me in August 26 and on their first night my daughter had a deep cut to her foot as a result of hotel room negligence for failing to remove glass shards. This is not acceptable for a hotel as proclaimed for 5 star. My daughter (yet to be even 2) had to be rushed to hospital to attend to her wounds. Although the hotel upgraded the room, this was useless as the time and pain on this matter is irreplaceable. Further, after two weeks my daughter had further complications and had to revisit the hospital the second time. I would say this hotel is not family friendly and should avoid at all cost if you do not want any cuts to happen to your little ones. We acknowledge there were upgrades during the stay. For larger room, but were useless. For example the larger apartment which was offered had the toilet blocking the bathroom door. The additional bathroom so quite redundant. I was also not happy that I had to voice my dissatisfaction towards the very last day of my stay until management compensate for our ride to another hotel. This should have done to the room rates, perhaps a room rate reduction. We note that the overall staff customer service have been trying to be helpful, but your senior manager on the site seems to be useless and helpless to able to make a decision. To Senior Management Team if you’re reading this, do upgrade your swimming pool for capital expenditure spending to avoid any cuts. Second, request fix for all rooms that has glass shards. This should not have ever occurred in the first place.

Loved the roof top swimming pool and bar.

It was a huge property. Busy lifts. We waited for our room ( that’s ok) we arrived early. But sat patiently. It was only because I approached reception I was told the room was ready.

The view from the pool was lovely and staff were very friendly - upgraded us after having to move us rooms twice due to being unclean.

This is not a 5* hotel at all, we had to change rooms twice due to lack of cleanliness - dirty carpets, stained walls and desks, insects all over the walls. Even the upgraded room on 20th floor the walls were stained but much better room. The whole hotel needs a refresh if I’m honest. The pool is clearly the star of the show.

Room and facilities are amazing. Breakfast is delicious with so many options. Return guests and look forward to staying again one day. Conveniently close to the airport. Pool is stunning!

It was in a good location.

The staff at check in weren’t friendly at all. Neither were the staff at Herbs and Spices Restaurant. We asked for a table for lunch and felt like they didn’t want us there. Had to ask for a drinks menu then waited 20 minutes with no order taken. We ended up leaving and had to wait a further 10 mins to pay for our drinks. No room to put your suitcases so had to step over them. Only one side of the bed had a table. Paid for a balcony room however it was so small and no balcony furniture to sit on. Constantly being asked to pay right up and no option to put anything in the room.

Beautiful property, well maintained, exceptional customer service, great check in/out times, excellent buffet breakfast & in-house restaurants.

Sinceramente me gusto el área de la piscina. Que fue una de las razones por lo cual lo reserve , su desayuno y vistas inmejorables.

Las habitaciones necesitan que se les de mejor mantenimiento , sus camas no son muy cómodas.

Todo. Un hotel maravilloso con todas las comodidades y unos servicios excelentes. Mención especial al restaurante italiano (delicioso) y a todo el personal del hotel. Agradecí mucho también la atención y al interés de Laura, que supervisaba que todo estuviera bien.

Het hotel beschikt over zeer veel faciliteiten en diensten zo heb je een casino, cinema en meer dan 4 restaurants in het hotel.

De kamer was beneden het niveau. De muren haden zelf sporen van schimmel. De eerste kamer die we kregen rook zeer vermuft waardoor we een nieuwe kamer vroegen. De andere kamer rook beter maar had nog steeds wat leek op schimmel plekken op de muur boven het bed. Bij het uit chekcen puste te staf ook om een positieve review te posten op booking.com.

Good location. Amazing city views from the higher floors. A good property overall. You are within a short taxi ride from major attractions. The staff is lovely especially Kimy at the reception. So helpful.

Völlig in die Jahre gekommen. Alte Stühle, kaputte Liegen, schimmlige Stellen in der Dusche. Kaum Steckdosen im Zimmer. Alles in allem eventuell 3* aber mehr dann nun wirklich nicht

Hotel zag er goed uit, personeel was erg goed! Zwembad had je fantastisch uitzicht over de stad.

De verhoudingen met de lobby en de kamer. Was de kamer erg basic, had je niet echt door dat je in een 5 sterren hotel zat. Misschien wel aan de prijzige kant.

Modern and comfortable

Lack of instructions. The ATM wouldn’t work for us and NO help from hotel staff. We couldn’t use our Debit cards. Why not? We lost $500AUD at a nearby ATM. Having to now try and have this refunded. Hotel staff were NO help.

Enjoyed the breakfast and also room service a few times. Pool and pool area was good.

We didn't like the gaming room. There needs to be a wider selection of slot machines. Also, even though I understand the staff were there to help you in any way, we felt a little uncomfortable that they were just standing there watching and waiting for you to move machines or anything else. This is the only criticism of the hotel.

La Vela Saigon is a beautiful hotel with excellent facilities and one of the most impressive rooftop infinity pools we experienced in Vietnam. The views across Ho Chi Minh City are spectacular and the pool area really is a highlight. Our room was comfortable, the location was convenient and the staff were warm and helpful. What particularly impressed us was how management responded when we experienced problems with our room. They listened, took our concerns seriously and made a genuine effort to put things right, which we really appreciated.

Unfortunately, we experienced some maintenance issues during our stay. We initially had problems with the toilet flushing and later had a leak from the bathroom ceiling during the night, which was particularly disruptive. These are issues that should not occur in a hotel of this standard. However, I do want to acknowledge that management responded professionally and made a considerable effort to resolve the situation and compensate us for the inconvenience.

The decor and vibe of the place is incredible, and the pool with a view is the best part!

I stayed here for about two weeks and noticed after a week or so, the housekeeping stopped changing all the bed sheets as often even though I feel like that’s expected for any hotel stay.

Rooms are very tired. Lifts take forever and buffet breakfast was average.

Toller Rooftop Pool mit unglaublichem Blick auf die Stadt. Unserer Meinung nach das absolute Highlight dieses Hotels! Wir hatten das Glück ein Zimmer Upgrade zu bekommen. Das Zimmer war dann entsprechend geräumig und komfortabel. Danke nochmal! Große Auswahl am Frühstücksbuffet, hat auch sehr gut geschmeckt.

La stanza è molto accogliente, spaziosa e pulita. Il letto è molto comodo ed il bagno è grande e ben attrezzato, con doccia e wc in due stanze separate. La piscina all’ultimo piano è veramente spettacolare.

La colazione può essere migliorata.

The pool is amazing, the room was great and the staff were fantastic. Shout out to the concierge for helping us find a fantastic local restaurant and to avoid potentially dicey ones. He went over and above and the restaurant was amazing. Thanks team.

All the receptionist were so amazing and kind. They made checking in so smooth and easy. The breakfast was so good and yum. Pool had epic view. Overall LOVED staying here and would stay again. 100% recommend

The pool is incredible! Usually, a pool is a lot smaller than shown on photos. However, not with this one! It’s amazing. Also, we ended up having a fabulous room due to an upgrade.

Check-in process was very unpleasant. We were there too early and did the pre-check-in- procedure as we were told that once we come back at 3, we could just pick up the card and head straight to the room. However, several coach buses arrived at once when we came back at 3 and needed all the attention from reception. It took us more than an hour to eventuall get to the room which would, if handled differently, I believe needed about 5-10 minutes. What must be mentioned here is that the receptionist apologized and we were offered an upgrade, so they solved the situation eventually in our favour for which we are grateful.

Pool, room was fine.

Location is in district 3 which is about 20 min via car from district 1 where everything is happening. Nothing to do around the hotel and most tours wont pick you up from this hotel due to location. Also they charged us $75aud for doing 5kgs of laundry! Use a delivery laundry service instead. Also the room service food was horrible (and very pricey), which was surprising because we ordered vietnamese food from the menu.

The staff were amazing to deal with let me drop my luggage off and use facilities early as I flew in early.. also they upgraded my room for me for free. Such freindly staff would highly recommend and that restaurants and roof top bar is amazing
