The best location in JB! Very near JB Sentral and super easy walking distance, so there’s no need to take a Grab. This was my first time staying here, although only for one night, and I really loved it. I’m very thankful to everyone — especially the front counter team during check-in, the staff assisting at the lift, and the housekeeping team. Everyone was so welcoming, friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to everyone! ❤️

Central location at JBCC right across bridge from CIQ. Housekeeping did a fantastic job ensuring my room 2804 was clean. Staff were exceptional and went above and beyond - experienced Genuine warmth, friendly and extremely hospitable service especially Wan, Syamsul, Razak, Angel and Renee from front desk at check in. We were provided lovely ideas for sight seeing, 15% dining discount voucher at SKS and offered a welcome drink which was a nice touch in the hot weather while waiting for check in. IHG diamond ambassador benefits fully extended including room upgrade, complimentary breakfast as welcome amenity and 2pm checkout - Nice! Received a warm welcome at check in which left us with a very positive impression again for our return stay! Room was nice with a sea view and I especially loved it came with the free mini bar! Breakfast quality and variety was phenomenal - good local flavours and international variety. Marde, Nazrim were warm and friendly escorted us to our seats, took note and served our coffee prior to us enjoying the spread of breakfast buffet. Restaurant team also ensured food was topped up, plates were promptly cleared allowing us to enjoy the nice spread of food. Had a really nice conversation with the duty manager Hany who asked about our stay to ensure that there were no issues and we were well taken care of. All in all a wonderful return stay and will definitely be back!

It was a great experience., fast and smooth check in, reception also gave us early check in which was fantastic!. Breakfast was great amd great service. Staff served curated pineapple mango drink which was fabulous! The fish fingers was excellent...very crispy and fresh!!!

A one-night stay, but definitely a lasting impression! ❤️ From the moment we arrived, Wan at the front desk welcomed us so naturally, it honestly felt like coming home. And just as we reached our room, Tonmoy from housekeeping happened to be on duty, greeted us warmly and made sure everything was in order. At breakfast, Haziq was just as lovely — he greeted us without hesitation and even checked in on how we were enjoying the food. It’s the little things that made this stay so special. Everyone we met genuinely made us feel like family rather than just guests. 🥰 The room was tip-top too! Overall, such a lovely one-night stay. The only little touch that might make it even more memorable would be a nice signature aroma throughout the hotel.🌿 Thank you to the wonderful team for making our short stay such a warm and memorable one! ❤️

Help special arrangement and all 4 rooms on same level. Straightforward and easy access from JB sentral. Appreciate Mr Tommy from housekeeping who has done a splendid job on room tidiness and not short anything. Beddings and pillows were great to sleep in. Breakfast spread was varied and with fresh juices!!

Breakfast buffet is fantastic. Marde actually remembered me from previous visits! Breakfast here much better than those at the hotels in the same area and even much better than the famous hotels at Mid Valley nearby. Repeat customers. We come here as often as we can. Another excellent stay at Holiday Inn Johor Bahru City Centre. Iqbal (Assistant Front Office Manager) and Wan were very friendly and hospitable at check-in, providing a warm welcome and clear information. Check-in was fast and fuss-free. The location is perfect - right in the middle of two shopping malls, with both JB Sentral for public buses and private hire vehicles readily available. In case of rain or hot weather, the great connection is great. Breakfast at Dine@Eight is also great. Huge spread and quality of food is good. The staff are also amazing - would like to specially thank Annie for her very warm welcome and attentiveness, as well as the very friendly and hardworking chef (Ms Nurul) at the live prata station. The room is spacious and clean, offers beautiful sea and city views, and very comfortable. Like how the hotel led by General Manager Jacky, is always looking into thoughtful ways to elevate guests' experience. Lovely hotel and staff! Thank you for another memorable and wonderful stay!

I recently had a staycation at Holiday Inn Johor Bahru City Centre with my family. After an unpleasant experience during my stay in 2024, I decided to give the hotel another chance, and I'm so glad I did. I was pleasantly surprised by the remarkable improvement in service across all departments. From the moment we arrived until check-out, the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed and well looked after. We were served welcome drinks during check-in, which was a lovely touch. The check-in process was smooth and efficient. Ms. Rekha from the Front Desk was warm, friendly, and professional, making us feel at ease right away. Our room was clean and well maintained, and Mr. Tonmoy from Housekeeping was courteous, attentive, and helpful throughout our stay. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of delicious options. I especially loved the steamed purple sweet potatoes—a simple but memorable highlight! I truly appreciate the tremendous improvement in both service and hospitality since my visit two years ago. It's wonderful to see the hotel's commitment to enhancing the guest experience. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay such an enjoyable one! I look forward to returning again.

We just checked out after our 4-day holiday (a birthday trip for our child), and the only word I can use to describe our stay is: AMAZING! ♡ At first, I thought the hotel would be small, but I was pleasantly surprised—it was spacious, beautiful, and absolutely perfect for our family of 4 (2 young child). We chose the birthday package, and everything was decorated so beautifully, complete with a lovely cake. A big thank you to the housekeeping team for making it so special! 🥹 I'm a little OCD when it comes to cleanliness, so when I say the room was spotless and well-organized, I truly mean it. Every staff member we met was polite, kind, proactive, and provided excellent service. We were even offered complimentary drinks while waiting to check in, which was such a thoughtful touch after our journey. The view from our room was beautiful and kept the kids happily entertained. And the breakfast buffet? Absolutely delicious! We looked forward to it every morning and left with full, happy tummies. 🥰 This was one of the most satisfying and memorable short trips we've ever had, and it's all thanks to the wonderful team at Holiday Inn. Thank you for making our stay so special. ♡ Its close to the checkpoint aswell.. Recommend for families with young children. We'll definitely be back in a few months!

I attended the hi-tea buffet two days in a row and found that the menu was different each day. I was highly satisfied with the variety of food, and the taste perfectly met my expectations.My first visit was with my friends, and everything went so smoothly. Because of that wonderful experience, I decided to return the very next day with my family. Unfortunately, my second visit was highly disappointing due to the poor service at the cashier counter. Upon arrival, I had to wait for about 10 minutes because the cashier (a lady wearing a black blouse) was on a phone call. She eventually asked a colleague to assist. A waiter named Haziq approached us, asked if we had a booking, and successfully guided us to our table after I confirmed our online reservation. The real issue occurred after our meal when I went back to the counter to collect my receipt. I was deeply disappointed by the cashier's unprofessional attitude and the way she questioned me: False Accusation: She accused me of failing to register at the counter upon arrival. I explained to her that Haziq had assisted us because she was busy on the phone when we arrived. Inappropriate Questioning: She aggressively questioned the age of my child, who is under 6 years old. As a practicing Muslim who strictly adheres to halal and haram principles, I found her tone and the way she interrogated me highly offensive and disrespectful. System Ignorance: She demanded that I check my bank account on the spot to see if the payment had been deducted. I made my reservation online and do not know how your backend system works. There were no such issues the day before. As a staff member, she should understand the hotel's system instead of unprofessionally forcing a guest to verify transaction records at the counter.

Mukesh, the security guard, is very friendly, approachable, and always willing to help. He greets everyone with a warm smile and maintains a professional attitude at all times. Whenever assistance is needed, he responds promptly and goes out of his way to ensure that visitors and guests feel welcomed and supported. His positive demeanor, helpful nature, and dedication to providing excellent service are truly appreciated.

Super prime location just opposite JB Sentral if you go by the 5 mins train… Be t to the hotel is City Square Mall Komtar JBCC and Wong Ah Fook Street if you are interested… Check in was seamless with efficient and helpful staffs… Room was spacious with sofa and writing table… Breakfast spread was wide and international which we truly enjoyed for 2 mornings… Staff Marde was friendly helpful and attentive who remembered personal names… Highly recommended especially if you are traveling to JB by the train… super convenient

Holiday Inn JB — Great ambience and location for a group retreat Our group held a retreat at Holiday Inn Johor Bahru from 14–17 June 2026, and it was outstanding. The location is excellent, with easy access to the Malaysia CIQ, Komtar JBCC, and City Square. The stay was smooth from start to finish. We were impressed by the quality of the guest rooms and function rooms, and the daily buffet spreads for breakfast, lunch, and dinner were excellent. Service standards were consistently high, especially from the F&B team. Special thanks to Senior Sales Manager Ms. Kristine, who went above and beyond from planning through to the end of our event. She was exceptionally attentive and proactive, and she ensured our group check-in was completed on time at 3:30 pm. We are also grateful to the service team, including Ms. Priyanka Mohan , Mr. Ahmad Danial and the technician, for their patient, prompt support and great work. Thanks as well to the on-duty security team for conducting a clear and reassuring emergency evacuation briefing for our group. A very special thanks to General Manager Mr. Jacky Kok for personally overseeing our event. He was efficient, professional, and thoughtful making the experience truly memorable. We appreciated the warm gesture of presenting the organizing committee with Malaysia fridge magnets and a Holiday Inn JB teddy bear at the end of the retreat. To anyone outside the education system, school holidays look like a generous perk. To a teacher, they are a sacred rite of passage. After months of grading, managing classrooms, and pouring every ounce of your soul into the academic year, the summer break isn’t just "time off" it’s a necessary psychological and physical synergy. It is the only time we can finally quiet the mental noise, recalibrate, and prepare our minds to do it all over again next term. So, naturally, when my son and I checked out of our house to escape some disruptive home renovations, I was ready for ultimate peace. I checked us into the Holiday Inn Johor Bahru City Centre from Monday, June 22nd to the 27th, fully prepared to embrace the art of doing absolutely nothing. Of course, the universe had other plans. The Cold Shoulder and the Pulsing Lift In our sheer excitement to get the vacation started, our driver dropped us off early at 12:30 PM. Waiting for us at the front desk was an Indian lady who looked like she had personally sworn an oath never to accidentally project warmth. She informed us check-in was at 3:00 PM. Completely fair, rooms need cleaning. We went for lunch, killed some time, and returned at 2:30 PM. The cynical expression remained firmly intact. Funnily enough, this is my third time staying here, and all three times I’ve encountered her, she’s carried that exact same vibe. Maybe it’s just my perception, but it felt like a cold welcome to Premium Sea View King Room 2301. And then came the nights. From Monday to Wednesday, sleep was a distant dream. Instead of the soothing sounds of the sea (what sea?), my son and I were treated to the relentless, rhythmic thump-thump and mechanical drum-beat of the lift’s pulley system going up and down. I didn't just feel tired; I felt that deep, cellular exhaustion only a teacher during exam season truly understands. The Great Curry Catastrophe (And a Hero Emerges) By Tuesday morning, I was running on fumes. I went down to breakfast, approached the buffet, and began scooping some delicious chicken curry into my bowl. Enter the F&B attendant. Armed with a fresh tray of hot curry, he didn't wait for me to finish, nor did he signal he was behind me. He just went for the swap. I instinctively stepped back, but it was too late; the laws of physics took over, and a wave of chicken curry splashed directly onto my shorts and thighs. I stood there entirely flustered, angry, and, frankly, gobsmacked. Just as I was about to completely lose my composure, a staff member named T J came to the rescue. I must have looked like a walking culinary disaster as I explained what happened. T J was incredible. He investigated immediately and even offered an express laundry service so I wouldn’t have to walk around the mall smelling like an aromatic spice rack. I declined, I just wanted a peaceful breakfast but the care he showed was the first sign that this hotel genuinely gives a damn. When my boy and I returned from shopping later that afternoon, our room had been transformed. Waiting for us was a beautiful teddy bear, a heartfelt handwritten note, cookies, and a fruit platter. That is how you turn a bad experience around. In that moment, I didn't feel like just another room number; I felt truly valued. Where the Heart Meets Hospitality The beautiful thing about the Holiday Inn JBCC is that for every cynical look, there are ten people working with genuine, unfiltered heart. Marde at breakfast, who never fails to flash a stunning, authentic smile that brightens the entire room. Iqbal, Firdaus and Shamrul at the front desk, whose service is always spot-on and deeply genuine. As someone who used to work in the service industry myself, I can spot a "put-on" corporate smile from a mile away. These people aren't acting; they care. But the absolute turning point of our trip happened on Thursday, inside the very elevator that had been keeping me awake. I met a fantastic human being named Jacky Kok. He didn't know who I was, but he was so wonderfully spontaneous, introducing himself right there in the lift and asking how my stay was going. Maybe it was the sleep deprivation or the lingering scent of curry, but the dam broke. I poured my heart out. Jacky listened with absolute, laser-focused attention and immediately offered to change our room. Since it was already Thursday and we only had a couple of days left, I declined. We had a great chat, and as we parted, I felt a total sense of camaraderie. This man has hospitality running in his veins. He quietly noted down my room number. My son and I went out for another round of retail therapy, completely unaware of what was happening behind the scenes. When we unlocked our door later that evening, we discovered Jacky and his team had secretly upgraded our room to a beautiful, blissfully quiet space far, far away from the noisy lift. The Verdict: My Permanent JB Home I was overwhelmed, shocked, and incredibly grateful. Here is the truth: no matter how high a hotel sets its standards, there will always be one or two individuals who miss the mark or a mechanical hiccup that disrupts the peace. As guests, we shouldn't fixate on the minor annoyances. Instead, we should celebrate the incredible team members who sweat the small stuff to protect the hotel's reputation. I visit JB very frequently. It used to be that Holiday Villa was my go-to spot. But after experiencing the sheer heart, responsiveness, and elite recovery of the Holiday Inn JBCC team? Hands down, this is my permanent home away from home. This was my third visit, and it certainly won't be my last. A grandest shout-out and massive kudos to Jacky Kok, T J, and their awesome crew. You didn't just save my vacation; you gave a tired teacher her peace back. Highly, highly recommended!

Holiday Inn JBCC enjoys an exceptionally convenient location right next to the Johor Bahru checkpoint, with a direct connecting bridge from the CIQ complex to the hotel. This convenience is one of the main reasons it remains my preferred hotel whenever I visit Johor Bahru. As a Platinum member, I am consistently recognized and appreciated, which makes every stay even more enjoyable. Whether I am visiting for a short getaway or attending business meetings, returning to this hotel always feels like coming home. The staff genuinely make me feel welcomed, as though I am reconnecting with family after a long absence. Although I had not stayed at the hotel for some time, I was extremely impressed by the many positive improvements that have taken place. The Front Desk team, Food & Beverage team, including TJ, and even the Housekeeping team on the 25th floor have elevated their service standards significantly. Their professionalism, attentiveness, and warm hospitality did not go unnoticed. A special mention must go to Chef Rizal, who went out of his way to prepare a dish upon my request. Such a thoughtful and personal touch exemplifies the outstanding service culture that the hotel has cultivated. I would also like to commend all the staff members who contributed to making my stay memorable. There are simply too many names to mention individually. In particular, I would like to recognize Mr. Jacky Kok, whose leadership has clearly played a significant role in the hotel's continued success and remarkable improvement in service standards.Overall, my experience was excellent from start to finish. The lift to the guest room you have to transfer at level 8,aircon in the breakfast area is not strong,my connecting room one of the room is not ready by the check in time 3pm and they will came to clean up at 3plus which is not acceptable n they charge me rm50 per night for securing the room but didnt give me the room on time.

Good, comfortable stay. The hotel is just across CIQ and the surrounding area has a lot of local food stalls. The hotel, though not new, is fairly maintained and clean. Our room has ample space to move around. Breakfast buffet spread is good, their croissant is our favourite! The staff were polite, and Marde in particular was very welcoming and helpful. The “infinity” like pool at the top of the tower was a nice place to relax. We were lucky when we decided to swim it was not crowded and were able to enjoy the pool and view in relative quiet. Overall, a good and relaxing stay.

I checked in with my family for a quick getaway at Holiday Inn Johor Bahru City Center. This is truly a great hotel, from the full hotel service to the courteous room service. Attending my room service is Tonmoy. The morning breakfast is a must for the variety of asian cuisine. I especially like the choice of blending your own fruit or vegetable juice.
